JavaCode: Save as image, then re-combine as PDF?

I'm using Acrobat X Pro, Windows 7.
I'm trying to remove ALL ability for clients to modify data in a file.  Because not even flattening will remove everything, and printing and scanning again is out of the question, I have a slow workaround: I save my PDF as a PNG image, then back as a PDF in order to clean the file and make everything permanent.
This is VERY time consuming so in order to speed up this process, I need an action that runs a javascript that does the following:
1) Save the current open file as a PNG into currentdirectory\currentfilename1.png... filename2.png... filename3.png... etc.
2) Combines the PNG files into a single PDF.
3) Saves that PDF as the original filename with "_img" appended to the end of the filename.
4) Deletes the PNG files recently created.
Can someone help me code this? It looks like something that a guru could code quickly, but i know nothing about java yet this code would save me hours a day.  Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

One more question - is there a reason you aren't using the security settings to restrict any edits to the document? It's available at the click of a button and fairly effective at rendering documents unusable for anything but viewing (correctly configured).
Other than that, you could create an action that has no steps, just the Save function, using the 'Export File9s) to Alternate format' option to create the PNG files (adding the _img extension.
Then create a second action that assembles files in the directory (where the PNG files were saved) into a single PDF.
Unfortunately, your stuck with having not only multiple actions, but manual intervention with this method, as you have to identify the files to combine for the second action.
First, thanks everyone for your help so far! it's been great! but it is still an unanswered question:
Regarding security settings, see the post i just made.
For the action solutions, I like your suggestion better than what i've been doing because it at least reduces my steps by a few.
so then is it possible to create a javaSCRIPT to combine all files in a fixed location sequentially into a single PDF?  Theoretically, this seems like an easy thing to script to someone who knows how--unless it's just not possible the way acrobat was written.  Am i wrong?

  • Firefox crashes when I save an image

Whenever I right-click an image and select "Save image as...", Firefox saves the image, then shuts down. This has happened dozens of times.
Deleting the download.sqlite file has not worked.

  • How do I save an image as viewed in the protanopic/deuteranopic proof view?

I'd like to create a series of textures that are essentially deuteranopic versions of other files I have. Although I can view the files as they would be seen by a deuteranopic using a proof view, I cannot find a way to save the file as it appears in this proof. I have tried for hours to find a solution across the help topics and even attempted to find third-party programs to no avail, and using screenshots to capture the view and save them is time-consuming and creates errors when I need to preserve partial transparency of certain textures.

When you are Soft Proofing your image with the Color Blindness - Deuteranopia proof profile. Save your image as either a Photoshop PDF or Photoshop EPS.
Using either of these formats will now allow you to: Use Proof Setup : Deuteranopia and Embed Color Profile: D-type Deuteranopia

I go to save a picture (bu holding my finger down on the image, then pressing save image, when the option comes up), and then go to the photos to view the picture, its says updating library and takes about a minute to finish loading and rebuilding/updating the library.  After it has finished updating the library I cannot view the picture I saved because it comes up as a picture of a grey camera that says JPG (I assume this is some sort of file, because if i save multiple pictures only one JPG, gery camera image shows up.) I'm guessing your problem is caused by code validation errors: orphaned division tags for example, or mismatched code and document type (i.e.  XHTML /> mixed with HTML > style closures).
Start by using the code validation tools below and fix any reported.  You'll need an Internet connection for this:
    HTML Validator - http://validator.w3.org
    CSS Validator - http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
    HTML & CSS Tutorials - http://w3schools.com/
If this doesn't solve the problem, you will need to post a URL to your live page so we can see your code and images working together.   Or at the very least copy and paste your HTML and CSS code into a reply using double arrows >> Syntax Highlighting > Plain.

  • I edit my photos in Photoshop, save as jpeg then import back into iPhoto.  But if I add text to an image in Photoshop can't save as jpeg but as psd. Is there any way I can change to jpeg in iPhoto?

I edit my RAW photos in Photoschop CS3, save as jpeg then import back into iPhoto 11.  If I add text in Photoshop I can't save as jpeg but as psd.  Is there any way I can change to jpeg in iPhoto?

    Terence Devlin wrote:
Yes you can. But you need to flatten it as jpeg doesn't support layers.
While the final JPEG can't have layers, it is not necessary to flatten the original Photoshop file to create a JPEG. There are two ways to make a JPEG while not losing the flexibility of preserving layers, and they both flatten on the fly while saving.
I just tried this in Photoshop CS3 myself. When I add a text layer, and choose Save, the Save As dialog box comes up and defaults to PSD as was described. But... that is just the default! Go ahead and choose JPEG from the Format pop-up menu down below the file list. JPEG is in there. So what happens to the layers? Notice when you choose JPEG, the Layers box grays out and the "As A Copy" box grays out and is checked (i.e. you cannot uncheck it). What is going on here is Photoshop will gladly make a JPEG of your layered file, but it will force the JPEG to be a copy, so as to not overwrite the original layered file. This is good, because your Photoshop file with its editable text layer is preserved, and you get a JPEG copy to put in iPhoto.
The second way is, instead of doing Save or Save As, choose File/Save for Web and Devices. This will also give you a JPEG choice, and also create an exported copy. Because this way makes files for the Web, they will be smaller than JPEGs from Save As because they will lack built-in previews (which you don't really need these days) and other extra metadata that take up space.
Either way you get a JPEG you can toss back into iPhoto.

    Only by exporting.
The Export menu in Photoshop CS3 does not have any direct choices for JPEG.

  • [feature request] Save original image when doing HDR

As the subject says - would be very nice to have an option to be able to get both images saved - HDR and the normal shot. iPhone5 that I also use has this option and it's very handy, please implement it.
I shoot a lot on the go and sometimes the camera shakes or objects move and then the final HDR image (that is combined out of a number of images taken with different exposures has a lot of "ghosting" on it. Typical problem that is usually corrected manually when I work with big DSLRs and of course avoided by using tripod.. but anyway, please consider adding the ability to save BOTH normal shot AND the HDR one. Some other big names in industry have it, it's a nice option for some people and in general there's no reason not to have it.

People, please, if you like the idea and would like to have such feature implemented in future software updates or at least draw some attention to it, just post reply here with your approval.. or make a better suggestion. Takes just a few seconds of your time, but it's worth it.

  • Is there a way to save an image file as a jpeg and add -web or -print to the file name?

I am trying to find a way to save my image file as a jpeg and add -web or -print to the existing file name.  This way I can easily see which files are lower resolution for web posting or high resolution for printing.

    Jason,
I helped somebody do a very similar thing about a week ago.
The trick is to use the Batch command's ability to construct a file name.
Tell the batch to append, e.g. "-x" without quotes, to the name of each saved file.
The batch runs an Action which does a save as JPEG, resize image, add logo, save as JPEG, then close document.
    The output is "<document name>-x.jpg" and "<document name>-x-x.jpeg".
Then use Windows Explorer to rename "*-x-x.jpg" to "*-print.jpg".
    Then rename "*-x.jpg" to "*-web.jpg".
    See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1038992?start=32
The name construction that I used there was just an "x" appended to the document name. Use whatever you like. Also juliew subsequently referred to the method as a "double-batch" run, although it is not. One run of the batch will output two JPEGs for each input document.
I hope the disagreements in that thread don't cause too much disruption.
If you want, the Batch command itself can be recorded in another Action which would store the parameters of the batch, then you could run that Action anytime without having to set up the details of the batch each time. It would always output to one specific folder, though.

  • Can no longer save edited images in version set with PS 10.

I've been using PS 10 for many months and have been able to save my edited raw images as jpgs in version sets.  I can no longer do this.  The edited images save on the hard drive but not in the PS organizer...thank you for any help you can offer....

Ok, you need to know what you want to do with your image. For example if it's for the web the best way to save to jpg is..  File-Save for Web, then you will see a Box with four pages,,  you can choose: Original which is going to be your original image,... Optimized which is a Lower quality version. 2-Up and 4-Up.
when you click on 4-Up Tab you see your original image in the top left, Also you have your image in 3 different windows with different file size and speed. You can click on each window and inside the Preset in Top right choose JPEG. and you can change the quality from Low to High or Drag the Quality Slider for different quality.
NOTE: when you do File-Save For Web,, you are going to have a flatten Image.. you will loose your Layers.
It is always better if you shoot your images In higher Res, such as 240, or 300 dpi, and later Down-sample the image to a lower quality for the web. If you have the original image at Higher Res, First you should Go to Image Image-size For Example Height 1200 Pixel. If you go ahead and save the file for the web then you don't need to change the Resolution. don't forget to Sharpen your image when you Down-sample

    Khaled,
Purchase Document Item Data Source fullfills the requirement of the PO activity, i mean PO created which has PO date and PO amount.
Let me tell you my situation in detail:
    The requirement is like this:
The report should contain all the procurement activities and report should display the three different scenarios of Procurement cycle:
    1) Only PO done
    2) Only PO and GR done.
    3) PO,GR and Invoice all done.
and all scenario should be in one report i.e., if PO only done, then the  GR and Invoice should show blank and similarly for others.
So I tried the following things in DEV.
    1) Custom DSO which gets loaded from 2LIS_02_ITM( for PO Information - PO date,PO Number , PO Amount) and 2LIS_02_SGR( for GR information - GR Number, GR date)
    2) 0LIV_DS01 (BI content) loaded from Invoice verifcation datasource 2LIV_06_INV.
Then Created Infoset(Custom DSO Left Outer Join 0LIV_DS01 ) and then checked the report but it doesnt fullfill all the scenario's of the Reporting as mentioned above..i.e., the report only shows the data only when Invoice done for the particular PO.
So was trying to Build 3 Custom DSO's ( As similar to the SAP Business One Standard BI content DSO's  0SBO_O0,0SBO_O1,0SBO_O2) and then load it to the Cube and check whether it meets the requirement and so wanted to go for Generic Datasource..
So, Can you please give your some valuable time to help me out in this situation and Correct me if have approached any long way ....and suggest to how to proceed?

  • Save an image from interactive form to R/3 system table

    Hi to all,
my scenario is this: Web AS 7.0 (probably patched to the last available patch), NWDS 7.0 and, at the moment, a 4.6c R/3 backend system (within some months we will upgrade to ECC 6.0). I have an online interactive form with some input fields and a user, logged in, fills these fields and pressing the "Submit to SAP" button will save the datas to a custom table on 4.6c backend. All this is simple and is working, but my problem is that one of these fields is an image. The purpose is that the user click on the image field and load an image from local PC and then, pressing submit to SAP button, will save the image on the custom table.
How can I make this? Which kind of context I have to bind to the image field? I have to add a java script/form calc code to image field? And to backend side, how can I do?
Thank you very much in advance,
    Enrico

    Hi,
In your forms you got the image or a link to the image ? If it's the image the field is define as an XSTRING is supposed. If yes you can add it easily in a database table.
If it's a link, your SAP system ( 4.6 C ) need to the the repository where the image is and then you can add it in the database. If you SAP system doesn't see the repository it's impossible to do so.
    Hope this help you.
    Best regards

  • Apex charts - right click, save as image (not responding)

    Hi,
Yesterday when our users attempted to right-click on an anychart produced by Apex, then save as image - they were able to identify a location to save to, however the infinity image labelled 'saving' was presented indefinitely.
At the same time, I noticed Anychart.com was down. This morning when I attempted the same action, now that Anychart.com is up, the process worked - correlation = causation?
A previous post seems to suggest it might be possible to localise whatever is converting the chart to images/pdf
Save as pdf/image does not work. It runs and runs ... Getting no output
Does anyone have any further details on this? I can't locate any existing references to anychart.com within my application, constructed source, /i/ folder etc.
    Cheers
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
So, if i understand properly, making this change
    <settings><pdf_export file_name="mychart.pdf" use_title_as_file_name="true" url="/i/AnyChart4_SaveAsPDF_php4/PDFSaver.php" image_type="jpg" />
will avoid atleast PDF issue? And as i dont have privileges to install or deinstall anything on /i/ folder, still this will work and URL path will remain same for each installation?
Adding another question, as you said "it sends base64 information when converting to PDF", does it mean i will not be able to convert to PDF, if i am using intranet and PC's not accessible to internet?
    Thanks

  • I can't change Download Location, or Save pages/images..."Browse" dialog will not show.

If I go into Options, and click "Browse" to change the Download location, nothing happens. I have used Firefox for many years and have never had this problem. I just did a clean install of Win7 (wiped entire HDD), and the problem started when I installed Firefox this time.
I can also NOT "Save Page..." or "Save Image As..."....basically anything that requires a Browse dialog window does not work, it just stalls and nothing happens.
I read another report of this, and the only solution that was given was to Reset Firefox. I did that, to no effect. I also saw something about migrating profiles, etc....I did not import anything into Firefox when I installed, nor do I have more than one user account in Windows. It's a really odd problem, but unfortunately I can't use Firefox if I can't save things. I've tried browse dialogs in other applications and I have no problems there.
Thanks for any assistance! Just to re-iterate, this is a completely clean install of Firefox and Win7...I even tried uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox before posting here.

    I hope this helps-
Go to the option menu and under the General tab, chose "ask me where to save files" and then restart Firefox in safe mode.
If this doesn't work, check for updates.
