Javascript not working with web.show_document.

Hi,
I executed the below command from forms 10g and it is not working.
web.show_document('javascript:var win=showModalDialog("http://otn.oracle.com/products/forms");','_self');
But if I execute javascript:var win=showModalDialog("http://otn.oracle.com/products/forms"); directly in IE, then it is working.
Frank, can you help me in this or any other people having any idea ?

Thanks for your quick reply. Your question is right. I think let me explain clearly my requirement. I have an application accessed in the web. A internet user is trying to a report through the application by giving a parameter as "A". Now using the window.open method, the report is displayed in the IE browser. Now the user can go to history and can see the complete URL with parameters.
If he just copies and pastes that url from history in the browser, the reports runs successfully. If he changes any of the parameter to "B", there is a chance that report will show the report for parameter "B". This should not happen.
Hope this is clear. Let me know if you are not still clear. Moreover, in the IE it is possible to clear history, but for internet based applications, how can we set them.

I'm trying to enable BI Publisher to run from the internet. I have Web Cache (AS10g rel 2) in an internet DMZ, trying to work with BI Publisher running on a AS10g rel 3 server in a application DMZ. BI Publisher won't allow Web Cache to hide the URL after login. It tries to use the application server name as a URL and gets lost, since this is not resolvable from the internet. We have Content DB, other J2EE application installed in this same configuration, and it works fine.
This is duty managed as of today. They required an enhancement request, which I submitted. SR 6696835.993 -

Currently an enhancement - it was logged as that but IMHO its a bug as other Oracle products work OK - it kinda depends on whether its an ORacle strd to work with webcache or not. Suffice to say, we are investigating the issue and will update the er/bug soon.

External Javascript not working with C# and XAML windows phone app

I've added a WebView into my project. If I navigate to the html file that contains external javascript files they don't work. Bit if I write the javascript code hardcoded into the html file it works properly.
Here is the html portion:

And in the C# code the uri is called this way:

IDM is not working with Web Sphere

i have installed IDM 7 and make the idm.war and deploying with websphere5. the deployment has success but when i tried to start the application from web sphere admin console the web sphere server stops and not work admin console also.
any other solution.
i am unable to find the loggingtoolkit4j from ibm site and i didn;t get the log.jar

This may not be related, but I found that it may be necessary to turn of the Java 2 security option on the JVM in WebSphere.
To turn off in WebSphere, logon to the WAS Administrative Console and navigate to Security > Configuration > Secure Administration > Applications and Infrastructure. Uncheck the Java 2 Security option.

Drop-down box does not work with Web GUI

On CE5 (ECC 5.)-> transaction "MM02"
-> click on drop-down for "Material"
-> see distorted pop-up

You wouldn't happen to be using Vista's Home Edition are you? I work from home and have Vista Home on one of my PC's and it has the same issue when I'm connected to 2004s systems. Vista Home isn't supported. Only Vista Prof. Oddly, if I'm using the same GUI to attach to 4.6C releases, I don't have this issue.

Certificate request not working with web server v2 template on windows 2012 R2

I have tried to generate a certificate request on my domain joined Windows 2012 R2. I have tried both online and offline requests. I am using the web server v2 template.
Both Method fails with error message that the cryptographic algorithm is unknown. I am using these settings apart from the template:

An event error is also appearing in the application log:

I am wondering if a cryptographic service provider or several of them are missing? They are installed With Windows update are they not? The strange thing is that this supposedly have worked before with another user. Could it be that I do not have the
correct permissions to request a certificate with this template, or has something happened with the server?

Javascript not working with 'Display as Text (does not saves state)'

We have these following items in P3 of our application,
P3_EDIT_ACCOUNT Display as Text (saves state)
P3_USEFUL_LINKS Display as Text (saves state)
P3_LAST_APPROVED Display as Text (saves state)
P3_ARCHIVES Display as Text (saves state)
And we are initializing these items in a pl/sql process under 'Page Rendering'
For example,

When our environment was upgraded from HTMLDB1.5 to HTMLDB2.0,
instead of displaying the proper value of :P3_ARCHIVES,
it was displaying the tags,
i.e. instead of displaying 'Archives', it was displaying the whole
'<font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1">Archives</font></a><td> '
So, when we changed all items to 'Display as Text (does not saves state)' and it was working.
But then we have another problem,

Now the issue is , when we changed all items to 'Display as Text (does not saves state)', the checkStatus() function is not getting called in the onClick
event of the radio button and hence the confirm window for the call to
confirm(promptStr) is not coming up.
But if we revert back the items to 'Display as Text (saves state)',
the checkStatus() javascript function is getting called properly but html tags are displayed against the items instead of the proper value (as mentioned in ********)
Please do let us know a possible solution to this issue.

PLSQL anonymous block source type can be used ONLY with Display Text (based on PLSQL) item type.
yes i am using in the source..
I also tried with the PL/SQL Expression of FUNCTION in this case it is executing the query but once i run the page ora- 06550 error occured.

Windows 7 Clients Not Working With Web-Auth

I am using 5508 controllers, configured for WEB-AUTH passthrough, Windows XP clients work fine but Windows 7 clients are hit and miss getting redirected to the splash screen.
The login page is customised showing T's & C's with two buttons Except or Reject.
Do I need to Pre-Auth with ACL's? Has anyone had similar issues, or any good doc's etc.

Many thanks for your relpy, the problem is that this is a guest network that's also avalable to the public and I dont have any control over the end clients.
After doing a quick search on the net I found this.
NCSI : Uses a combination of DNS and/or HTTP look ups to tell if you are connected to the Internet. The way NCSI does this is either via a HTTP request for http://www.msftncsi.com/ncsi.txt or a DNS look up for dns.msftncsi.com that resovles to 131.107.255.255.
NCSI does this whether you are logged on or not.
Do I need to Create a Preauthentication ACL on the Guest WLAN interface:-
Configure a preauthentication ACL on the WLAN to allow wireless clients to allow:-
1. Permit DNS resolution (UDP/53) to 213.199.181.90
2. Permit TCP port 80 to 131.107.255.255

Javascript not working with local files

I am not able to get Firefox to execute javascript on local files. I have disabled all add-ons. The odd thing was, the first time I disabled all of the add-ons, it worked, then I re-enabled them one by one to see which one was causing the problem, it stopped, I disabled them all again so I could confirm that is was the add-on, and after that I have never been able to get any javascript to run.
I have tried multiple files, even the most basic one listed in the Javascript tutorials, no luck. Chrome and Opera have no problems.

why didn't you check the sy-batch (test if it's a background job) ?
use the DIR_TEMP of the SAP server when it's a background job.
to get the physical directory you could use this kernel function :
CALL 'C_SAPGPARAM' ID 'NAME' FIELD 'DIR_TEMP'
ID 'VALUE' FIELD searchpoints-dirname.
(dirname is a CHAR 75)

Help! Javascript not working when object moved from one page to another!

Hello all:
I am new to Adobe Livecycle Designer (version 8.0). I have created a 3 page interactive pdf form with numerous objects (text fields, radio buttons, drop-down boxes, etc.), that our business wants to begin using soon.
I am having difficulty with some of my Javascript not working with a few of my objects on page 2 of the form. Specifically, there is a drop-down box for "Country" on page 2 of my form. When the user selects, for example, "United States" from the list, I have Javascript that is supposed to change the "Currency" drop-down box rawValue to "US Dollars" accordingly (upon the change event).
I think my Javascript syntax is proper, but I am not certain. Here is my simple Javascript associated with the "Country" drop-down box (Note: rawValue 80 = "United States" and rawValue 105 = "US Dollars"):
form1.Page1.cmbContactInfoCountry::change: - (JavaScript, client) -
if (this.rawValue == 80) {
     cmbCurrency.rawValue = 105;
This seems pretty straight forward and it WORKS when my "Country" drop-down box is moved to page 1 of the form, but it WILL NOT WORK when I move the "Country" drop-down box back to page 2 of the form (which is where it belongs).
Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions? I have spent probably 6-8 hours racking my brain trying to figure out why it works when on one page, but it does not work when move to a different page. I am guessing that I may have corrupted something OR that I am not fully addressing the proper name of the object?
Please help!

Unfortunately, I am still having issues with getting Javasript for the cmbCountry object to work with the cmbCurrency object. I haved pasted my new Javascript below.
JavaScript for cmbCountry object:

When I select "Canada" from the cmbCountry drop-down object, the rawValue of the cmbCurrency drop-down object is changed to "US Dollars" (when it is clearly defined as "Canadian Dollars"). When I select "United States" from the cmbCountry drop-down object, the rawValue of the cmbCurrency drop-down object stays blank for uknown reasons. Very strange.

Javascript does not work in web browser

I have a problem with javascript in my Captivate project.
This script only works in preview in Captivate, but does not work in web browser (IE 9, Mozilla, Chrome).
Anybody knows why?

ExportAsFDF javascript method is not working with Reader 10.1.1

Hi,
I have pdf document in which I have applied all Extendend Reader Rights. And now when I am trying to exports alll annotation in fdf with Reader 10.1.1 then it is faling to export. However it is working fine with Reader 10.0.0. Looks like this is broken in later version of 10.0.0.
Please let me know if any alternative solution is there to export all annotation in fdf file thru code.

Web Report not working with parameter form

I have a report which has got a parameter form. This report is
running fine in client/server environment. But when I deploy the
same report on web (CGI) using PARAMFORM=YES, I am getting the
parameter form and after pressing the SUBMIT button I am getting
a blank report under the following two cases even though I have
data for that query:
CASE1: <input type="hidden" name="desformat" value="html">
then I am getting the report with no data retrieved.
CASE2: <input type="hidden" name="desformat" value="pdf">
then I am getting completely blank report (no logo, no column
titles, etc.)
See the HTML code below. Remember, the same thing is running
fine in client/server environment. Moreover, if I make a HTML-
coded form for the report then everything on the client's
browser is running fine. But this is not what we want, 'coz we
are running the "BEFORE PARAMETER FORM" trigger in the report.
So, should I conclude that web-reports does not work with the
parameter forms?? Is it a bug???

No pal, that's not the problem. The problem lies with the
"BEFORE PARAMETER FORM" report trigger on the web. Check this
out on ur report server and u will understand my problem.

Please make sure your link still can be accessed.
The WebBrowser displays HTML content in applications running in a Silverlight 4 or later out-of-browser applications or in Silverlight 5 in-browser trusted applications only.

Flash is not, and probably never will be, supported on the iPad : http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ . Plus it would be up to Adobe to make a version of their flash player that works on iOS devices - something which they have never managed to do and which they have now given up on trying to do.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter and Puffin 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store, so your could try checking there for your sites (and there is the built-in YouTube app).
