JCA DBAdapter in OSB

I have a proxy service in OSB11g which is created using JCA binding and database dapater, this proxy service is polling data from database.When we disable the state of this proxy for some time and enable this proxy later on, it stops polling data from database.Sometimes it worked fine after enabling but at times it fails and stop polling.Ayone ver faced this issue???what could be the possible cause for this issue?? Any idea??
Thanks in advance

Data is already commited.
This behaviour of JCA proxy occurs when we deploy new config jar file in weblogic sbconsole, the proxy stops polling the database(which was polling successfully before deployment). When we restart the server, it start polling data again from database.
Please let me know if one else also faced this issue? Also suggest if any configuration required at server level to avoid such issue.
Thanks in advance.

    Hi Anuj,
    Thanks for your reply!
    I found that the data source is registered on server soa_server1 as follows:

    I don't know how to determine which server the DBAdapter is targetted to.
    But I found the following information:
    Under Deoloyment->DBAdapter->Monitoring->Outbound Connection Pools
    Outbound Connection Pool Server State Current Connections Created Connections
    eis/DB/SOADemo AdminServer Running 1 1
    eis/DB/SOADemo soa_server1 Running 1 1
    eis/DB/soademoDatabase AdminServer Running 1 1
    eis/DB/soademoDatabase soa_server1 Running 1 1
    The DbAdapter is related to the following files:
    C:\ Oracle\ Middleware\ home_11gR1\ Oracle_SOA1\ soa\ connectors\ DbAdapter. rar
    C:\ Oracle\ Middleware\ home_11gR1\ Oracle_SOA1\ soa\ DBPlan\ Plan. xml
    I unzipped DbAdapter.rar, opened weblogic-ra.xml and found that there's only one data source is registered:

    Then I decided to use eis/DB/SOADemo for testing.
    For JDeveloper project, after I deployed to weblogic server, it works fine.
    But for OSB project referencing wsdl, jca and mapping file from JDeveloper project, still got the same error as follows:

    You may need to configure the connection settings in the deployment descriptor (i.e. DbAdapter.rar#META-INF/weblogic-ra.xml) and restart the server. This exception is considered not retriable, likely due to a modelling mistake.
    It almost drive me crazy!!:-(
    What's the purpose of 'weblogic-ra.xml' under the folder of 'C:\Oracle\Middleware\home_11gR1\Oracle_OSB1\lib\external\adapters\META-INF'?

  • JCA DBAdapter configuration using JDeveloper 11g

    hello,
    I cannot create correct wsdl files for the jca WSDL-based business service :-(
    I try to use JCA dbAdapter in OSB 10.3.1
    following guideliness from
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/jcatransport/transport.html
    and
    OSB DBAdapter Demo (but it refers to JDev 10gR3 :-( which allows creation of DBAdapter component)
    in Jdev 11g, I can create such components only inside SOA project
    and no bindings are generated inside the wsdl (they are in composite.xml)
    is there a way to automatically use the wizard to create the correct wsdl (or I have to write it on my own)
    thanx in advance
    regards
    yannis
    Edited by: ydes on May 11, 2010 1:01 PM

    Hi Yannis,
    You can use the DB Adapter created with JDeveloper 11g on OSB 11g.
    The only difference from OSB/JDev 10g is that you will import a JCA file (along with WSDL and its dependencies) from JDev 11g into OSB 11g.
    Then you just need to right click on the JCA file and select 'Oracle Service Bus / Generate Service' and OEPE will automatically create the business service and the respective wsdl.
    Hope it helps.

  • How to configure JCA DBAdapter logging in OSB 11.1.1.4.0?

    How to configure JCA DBAdapter logging in OSB 11.1.1.4.0?
    I have a project deployed to the new 11.1.1.4.0 version of OSB.
    Under previous versions, a $DOMAIN-diagnostic.log file was maintained and contained a record of the activity of the various JCA DB pollers I had configured.
    In the most recent version, this is not the case.
    I'd like to know if I can restore the old behaviour...
    The best solution I could come up with is to change a setting in $DOMAIN/alsbdebug.xml, thus:
    <java:sb-debug-logger xmlns:java="java:com.bea.wli.debug">
    <java:alsb-jca-framework-adapter-debug>true</java:alsb-jca-framework-adapter-debug>
    </java:sb-debug-logger>
    With this change the pollers put their logging output into the $DOMAIN.log file.
    How can I get the output back into $DOMAIN-diagnostic.log?

    Alex,
    Oracle B2B does not support custom HTTP listening channels as of now. There are below two default HTTP listening channels for async Request-Response scenarios -
    http://host:port/b2b/transportServlet or http://host:port/b2b/httpReceiver
    and below one is used for synchronous request-response scenarios -
    http://host:port/b2b/syncreceiver
    where host - B2B server host and port is B2B server port.

  • Timeout on JCA DBAdapter call

    Hi
    I have created a JCA DBAdapter to call a PLSQL package. While creating i have mentioned the querytimeout as 20 sec..
    But over the runtime in my OSB Proxy service , i need to change that value. Is there any name/value in Transport Header to be added for this.
    I could find jca.db.datasource, but couldnt find any pre-defined property for QueryReadTimeOut.
    Please help on this.
    Thanks

    Not sure if that is possible. The documentation has no such public flag that you can change during run-time from pipeline

  • JCA AqAdapter on OSB - How to rollback on failure?

    Hi,
    I have an AqAdapter (JCA resource) on OSB.
    So, I generated a ProxyService that calls a BPEL BusinessService.
    If the BusinessService isn't available or some fault occurs in it, how can I get a rollback on AQ?
    Example:
    1. JCA gets a row from AQ and send it to the ProxyService
    2. ProxyService calls the BusinessService
    3. BusinessService fails for some reason
    4. JCA #MUST# rollback the row to AQ <--------- I mean, how can I get this 4th step done??
    Please someone help me.
    Thank you

    That means it retried 5 times.
    Have a look at this (extracted from: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12839_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_aq.htm). It seems to be related to what you've described:
    Oracle AQ Adapter Inbound Retries
    If you configure the Oracle AQ Adapter inbound retries to retry for more than 5 times by using the jca.retry.count service binding property for a retryable exception, then ensure that the queue is created with max_retries value that is greater then the value used for jca.retry.count. If nothing is specified, then the queue is created with a max_retries value of 5 which would mean that the message will end up in exception queue after 5 retries and will not be delivered to adapter for further processing. If jca.retry.count is specified with a value of 5 or less, then you do not have to change the queue max_retries property.
    Use the following code to change the max_retries property when creating a queue:
    begin
    DBMS_AQADM.CREATE_QUEUE_TABLE ( queue_table => 'RAW_IN_QUEUE_TABLE',queue_payload_type => 'RAW');
    DBMS_AQADM.CREATE_QUEUE ( queue_name => 'RAW_IN_QUEUE',queue_table=> 'RAW_IN_QUEUE_TABLE', max_retries=>1500);
    DBMS_AQADM.START_QUEUE ( queue_name => 'RAW_IN_QUEUE');
    DBMS_AQADM.CREATE_QUEUE_TABLE ( queue_table => 'RAW_OUT_QUEUE_TABLE', queue_payload_type => 'RAW');
    DBMS_AQADM.CREATE_QUEUE ( queue_name => 'RAW_OUT_QUEUE', queue_table => 'RAW_OUT_QUEUE_TABLE');
    DBMS_AQADM.START_QUEUE ( queue_name => 'RAW_OUT_QUEUE');
    end;

  • Integration of own JCA adapters in OSB

    Hi,
    Is it possible to integrate our own JCA adapters in the OSB via the JCA framework?
    If yes, how can the corresponding WSDL be automatically generated?
    thanks

    The Oracle Service Bus JCA transport lets you interact with the following JCA-compliant adapters:
    Oracle Applications – Oracle Applications services can send and receive messages from
    Oracle E-Business Suite using available interfaces
    Oracle AQ – Oracle Advanced Queuing services can send and receive messages from
    Oracle AQ single or multiconsumer queues
    Oracle Database – Oracle Database services can send and receive messages from a table or
    execute a stored procedure

  • Reading large file with JCA Adapter in OSB

    Hello,
    We are searching for a solution how to read large file (>50M) from network drive and deliver it to queue via OSB 11gR4 (10.3.4). The problem is when reading the file with JCA File Adapter. It seems that it cannot handle as large files as we have. The documentation provides a way to bypass file size limitation by using Chunk Read but it seems to require BPEL Process execution which is not possible in our environment. Does anyone know if there are ways to implement this without having BPEL Process?
    Our usecase:
    read file from network drive -> transfer with OSB -> deliver MQ
    Other options than JCA File Adapter can be considered, if anyone can advice...

    If it's a plain routing use case and no message processing is required then you may simply use OSB's FILE transport instead of JCA adapter. Create a messaging type proxy service and select request message type as "binary". Also enable the content streaming (Disk buffer, compression).
    From OSB Dev guide -
    Oracle JCA Adapter for FTP and Files – Attachments (large payload support), pre- and post-processing of files, using a re-entrant valve for processing ZIP files, content streaming, and file chunked read are not supported with Oracle Service Bus.

  • How to assign LogicalDirectory in JCA File Adapter - OSB

    in SOA Suite, you assign a value to LogicalDirectory by setting a property in composite.xml
    how to achieve the same in OSB?

    It is possible to register a Java Listener class, which can/will be invoked, when a last batch in the file, is read. Code for invoking the concurrent Program can be written in side this class.
    Refer to following document on how to register the Java Listener class
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_file.htm#CACJBIGD
    Moreover, as an alternate to the above approach, chunk read interaction specs can be implemented along with the Sync File Read for your scenario( However,This will be a whole re-write, considering your current approach. Good News is, there is full-fledged example readily available for this in oracle docs).
    Here is the link if you would like to implement the Chunk Read.

    You need to open all the cursors in the PLSQL ie., cursors should be initialized in your PLSQL package. JCA DB Adapter tries to open the cursor without checking whether its there or not..If you cant change the PLSQL package, raise a SR with Oracle for a patch.This would be considered as Enhancement Request.

  • OSB Error in Eclipse: The JCA dependency is not configured.

    Hi All,
    I am trying to use db adapter in OSB and I created the adapter in jdev and imported it in Eclipse.
    I have installed Weblogic,OSB and configired the domain for osb, I can login to OSB and weblogic console.
    I followed these steps to get there and now the db.jca file shows errors The JCA dependency is not configured.
    http://guidoschmutz.wordpress.com/2010/08/08/oracle-service-bus-11g-and-db-adapter-a-different-more-integrated-approach/
    Few of the things I noticed:
    when I tried to copy the adapter from eclipse/plugin/*.jca/Dbadapter to Jdev/integration/lib/Dbadapter
    I dint find one in eclipse/plugin/*.jca/Dbadapter
    I created a OSB Configuration Project and not sure if it was created correctly and affecting this, as a matter of fact
    are there any configurations I am missing to start.
    I have like tight schedules and would really appreciate any help.
    Thanks a lot again..

    Yeah I checked that the wsdl is present.
    One more thing I am noticing is the wsdl created in Jdev 11.1.1.4 doesnt show the binding and port when imported in the OSB Project resources.
    Is there a way we can fix this?
    Thanks.

  • OSB: Business Service Timeout for JCA Connection

    Hi,
    I am wondering if there's any way to configure timeout for a JCA connection in OSB? It's not configurable in Business Service.
    Thanks.

    Hi Anuj,
    I am using DbAdapter. As for operation, which operation are you referring to? Where do I check to verify this?
    Thanks.

  • OSB JCA Adapter performance issue

    Hi,
    We have to use OSB as an ESB at integration level which need to populate the result from local services e.g. from DB as well as from external services. Actually we need to use switch [split -join] and connector [individual proxy for individual services] features.
    As for external services, we do not have questions but to access data from local system e.g. Database, whether it will be a performance issue in OSB, in case if we are using JCA Adapter and exposing it as a service? Because some one objected that accessing JCA layer in OSB will be a performance issue.
    If some one can shed the light on it, it will be great.
    Thanks & Regards,
    V D

    Hi,
    Have a look at the Developer Guide for OSB... Oracle JCA Adapter for Database is supported... Have a look at the limitations, there's nothing mentioning performance...
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/dev.1111/e15866/jca.htm#i1110405
    Also have a look at the following blogs... One of them even suggests that jca performs better than xquery with fn-bea:execute-sql...
    http://victor-jan.blogspot.com.au/2012/06/osb-fn-beaexecute-sql-vs-jca-dbadapter.html
    http://reallifeserviceorientedarchitecture.blogspot.com.au/2011/09/oracle-service-bus-osb-and-jca-adapters.html
    If you are still in doubt open a SR with Oracle Support...
    Hope this helps...
    Cheers,
    Vlad

  • Incorrect OSB JCA transaction spanning

    Hi!
    I have set up a service in OSB which polls database using a dbAdapter, does some processing of the data read and then inserts data in database using a different dbAdapter.
    The service is composed as follows. First I built a proxy service from JCA adapter which polls an XML registry from database. This proxy makes a service callout to another proxy which performs some transformations and finally routes to a JCA dbAdapter business service which writes to database.
    I need full process to be transactional, so If any error occurs at any step, register should not be marked as read in polled database and no data should be written to database. I have configured polling proxy as transactional and invoked proxy which performs writting to database as transactional too. I've tested that when a writting error occurs, polled data is not marked as read, which is expected behaviour. But if I rise an error in polling proxy after service callout is effectuated, then register is not marked as read but data is written to database in called proxy.
    Could anyone tell me how to configure transaction behaviour in proposed scenary?
    Thank you in advance.

    After some research I saw following section in http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/E15867_01/proxy_services.htm#i1316487
    "If the message flow run time starts a transaction, quality of service is exactly-once. However, if Service Callouts or Publish actions have the outbound quality of service parameter set to best-effort (the default), Oracle Service Bus executes those actions outside of the transaction context. To have Oracle Service Bus execute those actions in the same request transaction context, set quality of service on those actions to exactly-once."
    It seems default qualify of service for Service Callouts is best effort so services called are executed in a different transaction than the caller. That's pretty clear then.
    But after replacing the qualify of service the process stopped working when activating the polling.
    When I started testing the process I noticed that after polling I got more registers in target table than the total number of polled registers in source table, indicating that some of the source registers where been processed multiple times. As polled registers count must be equal to written registers count, I assumed the difference could be caused because an error occurred after commiting transaction in proxy 2 which performs the write operation. That's why I need full process to be executed in same transaction context.
    Thanks.
