  • BW reporting for SRM upgrade

    HI,
My quetion is, for upgrade fromn EBP2.0 to SRM 5.0, what will be the changes (structural and in tables) that will have to be considered in case of BW reporting?
Will standard reports in the new version take over automatically (with minimal config) from the older reports in EBP 2.0?
And also, if we require an BW consultant in a typical upgrade project for the above mentioned scenario, what would his exact role be?
    Thanks in advance!

    Sonali,
Hi. There are quite a few changes. We are upgrading from EB 3.0 to SRM 5.5 and have been able to eliminate all our bespoke reporting in the old system.
With the 5.5 system there are two main 'reports' included in the system, and also the analytics reporting in BW. It is dificult to say the standard reports will take over as it is always down to user requirements, unless you are in a position where you can tell your users what to do.
I configured the 'standard' BW reporting in our system, having never seen BW before, in a week. I wouldn't say you need a BW expert unless, which is usually the case, your users want to modify the SAP standard BW reports. My suggestion is to get any competent ABAP developer and give them the install guide (You can download this as below)
The main reports in SRM are
    1) Check status report (BBPSC04). You can enhance this to add user defined fields, but its quite limited.
    2) Shopping cart monitor (BBP_MON_SC) - this report can be enhanced quite extensively using standard SAP BADI's see IF_EX_BBP_MON_SC. This is going to be our key report for the 'buyers'.
There are some interesting documents available for download.
    service.sap.com/instguides
    service.sap.com/srm
    service.sap.com/srm-inst
Also there is a list of the standard BW reports with 'BI Cont 7.2'. If the users won't be happy with these then you might need a BW person to 'create' a report to their needs. In our case we are going with the SAP standard BW  reports.
    Cheers
    Rob

  • New IBM JDK 1.4.2 for SAP NetWeaver 2004 and 2004s

In May 2006 IBM System p brand and SAP announced the direction to enhance the IBM AIX 5L JDK 1.4.2 for SAP NetWeaver 2004 and SAP NetWeaver 2004s based applications. The new IBM JDK 1.4.2 for SAP NetWeaver applications on AIX 5L is 100% upward compatible for all SAP business applications and, compared to the classical AIX JDK, provides a more consistent runtime behavior, enhances memory management, and improves debugging capabilities.
<b>General Availability (GA) of the new IBM JDK 1.4.2 for SAP NetWeaver 2004 and 2004s on AIX 5L</b>
As part of a staged release process aligned between IBM and SAP a customer pilot program was started in August 2006 followed by a Controlled Availability (CA) program. Based on positive customer feedback resulting from real production usage and the very encouraging internal test results, the new IBM JDK on AIX 5L is/will be generally available
    •     for SAP NetWeaver 2004 SP14 and above starting at 5th of February 2007
                    and
    •     for SAP NetWeaver 2004s SP06 and above starting at 30th of March 2007.
This means systems running above SAP NetWeaver releases in an AIX 5L environment are allowed to use the new IBM JDK without restrictions.
This announcement does not affect the use and support of the classical AIX JDK outside SAP environments.
<b>Transition Plan to the new IBM JDK 1.4.2 on AIX 5L</b>
SAP will support the classical and the new JDK in parallel for a limited number of NetWeaver support packages. Afterwards only the new IBM JDK will be supported:
    •     for SAP NetWeaver 2004 the first support package only supporting the new JDK will be SP21 (planned date for SP21 see http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700001130682005E),
    •     for SAP NetWeaver 2004s it will be SP14 (planned date for SP14 see http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700004584092005E).
So please plan a transition to the new JDK prior to the upgrade to these support packages.
SAP and IBM strongly believe that the switch to the new JDK will improve your experience with JAVA based SAP applications on AIX 5L. Both companies recommend upgrading to the new IBM JDK 1.4.2 for SAP applications running on AIX 5L as soon as it matches your company’s maintenance plans.

You can download the JDK directly from the sun java website...
    http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/1.4.2_12/index.html
I don't think Ubuntu is supported...

  • Installing BI Content objects for SRM

    Hi Experts,
I am new to this group and i need your help for installing Business Content Objects for SRM based data flow.
We are working for a BW - SRM upgrade project and as per our requirements we need to build 11 -  BI standard reports based on Shopping Cart, Shopping Cart Approvar &  Central contracts. We have identified the relevant data sources (0BBP_TD_SC_1, 0BBP_TD_SC_APPR_1 ,  0BBP_TD_CONTR_2) info providers/ characteristics & keyfigures from help.sap.com respective with query details.
We have checked in BW system and do not found any objects under SRM info area (infoobjects/info providers).  As a first step we have activated the above said data sources in SRM system through RSA5 and ensured the data avaialbility through extractor check in RSA3.
We have replicated the Meta data and got the data soruce in inactive version. We are planning to install the business content for info objects, info providers, query elements..
We need your suggestions on  how to proceed further and what are the checks need to be done before installing the objects.
Can any one provide an step by step document for installing the business content  objects from scratch.
    Regards,
    Saravanan.M

    Hi,
Tty to install objects in below sequence.
    1. Application component
    2. Info area
    3. Catalogs
    4. Info objects - Chars and Key figs.
    5. DSO/CUBEs
    6. Transformations, info pack and DTPs.
    7. Bex Reports
While isntalling obejcts from BI content, use grouping option as - only necessary objects , do the simulation and later install in background.
If any obejcts already in active then use Match copy option there itself.
From google you may find them,
Use google search key as "Business Content in SAP BI".
    Thanks

    Hi,
We have used JSTL 1.1.2 tags in our application. It works fine with JDK 1.4.2_05 on weblogic server 8.1 sp4. The same application throws error on use with JDK 1.4.2_12. Is any patch available for support of JSTL in JDK 1.4.2_12. Kindly do reply on the same.
    Thanks in advance
    Thanks & Regards

I ran into a similiar problem with JBuilder 5. The answers on their boards indicate the problem traces to the change Sun made with versioniong class files in JDK1.4.
Someone offers a patch tool for JBuilder, but Borland does not support it. It will be interesting to see what Oracle does with this problem.

  • Requirements for SRM 2007 (EBP:E-Procurement)?

    Hi Guys,
I recently was scheduled to implement the latest release of SRM/E-Procurement to our ERP6.0 Landscape.
Unfortunately, I am pretty new to this topic and everything I know is that the latest release is SRM2007.
Could anybody tell me what exactly needs to be installed?
    What packages?
As far as I know, EBP is included into SRM. But is it enough to just install SRM or do I need any additons to run EBP (E-Procurement).
The underlying system is/will be SAP ECC 6.0.
I am really looking forward to your answers

SRM 2007 (SRM 6.0 )is still not avilable for general release and ongoing for ramp-up customers only.
The release was due this year but delayed.
For SRM add on installations on ECC

  • JDK DST Time Change for 2007

I just got an e-mail from Sun about the DST issue for 2007.
Is Adobe going to come up with a fix for this or should we download
the JDK directly from Sun? We are currently running JDK 1.4.2_04.
Some sort of communication about this issue would be appreciated.
U.S. Daylight Saving Time Changes in 2007
The United States has planned a change to its DST observance
beginning in 2007. The Energy Policy Act of 2005 mandates that DST
will start on the second Sunday in March and end on the first
Sunday in November. In 2007, the start and stop dates will be March
11 and November 4, respectively. These dates are different from
previous DST start and stop dates. In 2006, the dates were the
first Sunday in April (April 2, 2006) and the last Sunday in
    October (October 29, 2006).
If you are concerned about application failures that may
result from these DST changes, you should update your Java Runtime
Environment. The following Java platform versions have correct time
rules to handle the DST changes that will affect U.S. time zones in
2007. You can download any of the following Java platform versions
    to resolve this DST issue:
    JDK 6 Project (beta)
    J2SE 5.0 Update 6 or later
    J2SE 1.4.2_11 or later

Ok, I have figured out what the issue is here. I'm posting
    this in the hopes
that Adobe will modify their document, "How to upgrade the
    JVM that ships with
    ColdFusion" at
    http://www.adobe.com/go/2d547983.
    There are several steps that
are omited or vague, so here is some additional information
    that will help you
    in the upgrade process.
JVM 1.5.x is NOT supported for ColdFusion. The link
    specified for the upgrade
process points to the Java SE page which currently displays
    1.5.x as the
current version. Instead go directly to the 1.4.2x page at
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html
to get the correct version of the
    JVM.
It should also be noted that the default installation for
    the JVM points to
    C:\Program Files\Java\JDK<version>, this default
    directory must be changed
because the java.config file does NOT allow for white space
    in the java.home
argument. When installing the JVM you should choose the
    ?Custom? install and
install to C:\Java or a directory structure that does not
    contain spaces. It
may be helpful to rename the JRE directory under Jrun4 and
    install to that
directory directly if you don?t want the java files outside
    of the Jrun
directory. This is important because if there is white space
    in the directory
structure, ColdFusion will not start up and return a ?Service
    fails to start
with Service-Specific Error 2? message when starting the
    service.
Once you have installed the JVM it is necessary to create a
    directory in the
JVM folder called ?Server?. There is already a directory in
    the folder called
?Client?. Once you create the Server directory, copy the
    contents of the Client
directory into the new directory called Server; this is
    completely omitted from
the document and is important to the process for upgrading
    the JVM.
Using the above information combined with the document
    provided by Adobe, I
was able to install the JVM 1.4.2_11 and ColdFusion started
    up using it.
Hopefully these suggestions will help others in the future
    when they need to
    upgrade the JVM.
    Thanks!

  • SRM Upgrade from SRM 4.0

Does anyone have any good incite on upgrading from SRM 4.0 to SRM 5.0 possibly(6.0)? We are preparing to upgrade to ECC 6.0 and I want to know for:
1 - Is an SRM upgrade absolutely required if we are currently on 4.0?
2 - What are the possible benefits/pitfalls of the upgrade in both SRM 5.0 and 6.0?
    Your wisdom is greatly appreciated!
    Points will be rightfully rewarded!

Re: Additional advantages of having SRM in EBP 5.0 compared to EBP 2.0
In EBP 5.0, you have more flexibility in case of the WF's.e.g. in the SC Approval WF's ,you can have the n-step dynamic header level as well as the Item level approval Workflow in addition to the Standard 1 step,2 step and no approval Workflows

    Hi Gurus,

    Regards!

Normally when upgrade patches are applied to systems basis advise to backup the working clients
but have not heard about special back up for SRM-SUS.

  • How can I upgrade my iCloud account's storage but pay for the upgrade with another Apple ID?

I want to upgrade my iCloud account so that I can back-up my iPhone, however I would like to pay for the upgrade using a different Apple ID than the Apple ID associated with my iCloud account. I can not figure out how to do this, when I hit buy after selecting my desired plan it wants be the buy the upgrade with the Apple ID my iCloud account uses. Please help!

I don't think that's possible.  (If you're trying to get it on another credit card, one option would be to purchase an iTunes gift card with it and redeem it to create an iTunes store credit.  Storage upgrades will first charge your iTunes store credit before charging your card.)
