JMF conflicting with Webcam's driver

I am building this audio chat application. It is based on JMF and uses RTP for audio transmission. It worked fine until the day I installed my web cam. I tested several times installing and uninstalling the driver. The audio application works only when the WEb cam is not installed. Actually.
The machine which has this WEb cam installe can tranmit audio but cannot receive it.
My application must be conflicting with this driver, but for what, that I dont know.
Any one who has worked on JMF please help.

Does the webcam contain a microphone ?
Maybe it's installing audio drivers?
Have you tried installing the webcam, then uninstalling and reinstalling JMF, just in case JMF overwrites the webcam incompatibility somehow ?

  • Photoshop CS4 conflicts with Digitizer Wintab Driver

I have a Calcomp DrawingBoard III (12x 12) digitizer running on Windows XP Service Pack #3. The digitizer wintab driver conflicts with Photoshop CS4, preventing it from opening. When I start Photoshop it partially opens and then the computer locks up. But, if the computer boots up without the wintab driver loading, Photoshop starts and runs properly.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and know of a solution?
Will there be or is there an adobe fix to this problem?

    After booting up the PC
Try this after trying to open Photoshop and when it freezes,
    type  Control_Alt_Delete
    Click on  'Task Manager'
    Click on 'Processes' tab
Find the process running called  'WTServerCC.exe' and click on it to highlight it,
Click on 'End Process' in the bottom right of task manager window
Click on 'Yes' when warning window appears
Photoshop should then open and work OK with the GTCO Calcomp Drawing Board 3.
mine runs OK with Photoshop CS4 on Windows XP service pack 2.
    Good luck

  • Possible confliction with external hard drive?

Hi guys, I'm sort of new here, but I could really use some help.
I love my iPod (30 gig Video), I've had it for just over a year, but last week it all of a sudden started screwing up on me. I'm sorry it's such a lengthy explaination, but I haven't been able to find help anywhere else... If you don't feel like reading it, essentially my iPod seems to be conflicting with my external hard drive.
I keep all my music on a 150gb external hard drive since my laptop's 30 gigs barely has any room left over with all the programs and photos I have on it. iTunes has worked fine in the past with playing/syncing music from an external hard drive but all of a sudden it's decided that iPod and Hard Drive don't mix.
When I have my hard drive plugged in by itself, everything is normal, and iTunes can play the music fine. Though once I plug my iPod in, iTunes and the whole computer freezes up. I get the usual "Do Not Disconnect" message on the iPod, and it seems to be doing something, but everything on the computer just stops. I can click the start menu, I can click the close button on iTunes, nothing happens... UNTIL I unplug my iPod. Then everything unfreezes and whatever buttons I clicked while the screen was frozen do their appropriate action. If I had clicked to close iTunes it would then close iTunes... If I closed iTunes while the iPod is plugged in (which does nothing), then unplug the iPod causing iTunes to actually close, I get a message saying that the iPod needs to be reformatted to work with Windows and I should restore the iPod within iTunes to solve that problem.
At the time, I hadn't tried the iPod alone, without the hard drive plugged in (since I keep the hard drive plugged in all the time), so I figured it was a problem with the iPod, rather than a problem with the hard drive.
So I took the "restore" idea, and went to my friend's computer, which is running Vista. He has iTunes, and his computer is fine. I plug my iPod into it, iTunes opens up, things work great. So the problem didn't seem to be with my iPod. I took the opportunity of having my iPod in a working iTunes environment on my friend's computer, and I restored my iPod, clearing all the songs off of it, which is not really a big deal, since all my songs are on my ext. hard drive anyway. I took my iPod back to my computer, and nothing changed, I still had that problem, and I then realised that the problem only existed while my hard drive was plugged in.
It was after I restored it that I realised if I unplug my hard drive, and have my iPod plugged in alone, everything works fine. It opens up iTunes, it's recognised by My Computer, things are normal, except for the fact that I can't do anything, since all my music is on my ext. hard drive, so I get to look at a whole library of songs with little exclaimation marks beside them. Syncing didn't do anything except transfer the handful of songs from my library that AREN'T located on my external hard drive to my iPod, and of course, once I tried plugging my hard drive in... frozen.
I managed to figure out that if I started iTunes with my hard drive plugged in (so iTunes would know that the songs are in the right location), then unplugged the hard drive, plugged the iPod in (so iTunes would recognise it), then plugged the hard drive back in, things would work alright, though when I tried syncing it, it went painfully slow and stopped after about 3 albums, and this process hasn't worked since, it just freezes up again.
I know I could just copy songs slowly to my computer, and sync them to my iPod from the computer rather than the hard drive, but that would take ages, and I'd like to have the problem fixed rather than to have to go through that process any time I wanted to change what's on my iPod.
So that's my problem. I've followed the "5 R's" that the support here seems to swear by, I have tried unistalling and reinstalling iTunes twice, I've uninstalled both iTunes and the iPod updater stuff, and then installed everything clean from the CD that came with the iPod. I've tried renaming the drive letters of my ext. hard drive and my iPod in case there was some sort of confliction there, nothing seems to have worked. I don't think I changed anything with my computer that would cause this change (I ever restored Windows to a date before this problem occurred), and as for the update to iTunes 7.4.1.2, I didn't update it until after this problem started, so it wouldn't have been caused by the update.
I hope that made sense... If anyone can give me some help as to how I can get my iPod back working on my computer I'd be incredibly grateful and thanks in advance!
If anyone knows what's going on, it's probably somebody here

This sounds like more of a Windows specific iPod problem. You may get better responses if you posted it in that specific section of the forums.

  • Version 3 conflict with  Flash Drive

Just upgraded to version 3 but resulted in conflict with Kingston flash drive. Firstly, Photoshop Album automatically opens up when you put the flash drive in the USB port (and you can't disable it). Secondly explorer (XP version) no longer recognises the flash drive. Reverted back to version 2 and flash drives worked fine. Adobe know there's an issue but couldn't solve it - anybody got a solution?

    Welcome to Apple Support Discussions.
Your machine would probably benefit more from RAM upgrade than a upgrade to an SSD. Go here choose the iMac you have and you might be able to upgrade to 6 GB. The ONLY advantage of an SSD is loading your OS and opening and closing apps. Because Macs are designed to be left on 24/7 except if you are away for few days or longer the first point is moot. That leaves opening and closing apps, unless you are working in apps where you are opening a closing a lot of files all the time a SSD would be a waste of money.
My recommendation, do an SMC and PRAM reset and see how it operates and if you still aren't satisfied upgrade to 6GB of RAM.

  • Conflicts with Drive Genius 3 and Mac Pro Tower?

I have been having problems with my MAC for about 7 months. Becomes unresponsive and I get HD disk errors when I run Disk Utility. The only way to repair is to use the Disk utility on my Snow Leopard Install disk. I have been trying to figure out what is going on, and the only thing I can come up with is that there may be a conflict with the Program Drive Genius 3. Has anybody had any similar issues?

your first course of action is to back up any and all data that you have, especially from the affected drive
then, its to ascertain wether the drive is failing or if the system is corrupted. (follow the advice in the other posts)
if the system is corrupted, you just need to reinstall the system (fresh)
if the drive is failing, you can keep the system, by cloning it to another drive. Drive genius does this with the duplicate function. (if you hear about superduper or CCCloner, they do this too)
in any and all cases, when all this is settled, you should have a cloned copy of a working system on another drive (or two). Every month (or few), reclone (backup) your system. When you are about to install a system update, say from 10.6.6 to 6.7, clone before, then update.
you can have multiple systems installed. Each one on its hard drive, or even ten systems on the same hard drive, each one in its own partition, (though if the drive fails, those multiples wont help, on the same drive. Plus, in order to clone, you need different drive. Im just saying its possible.) I use an old 300GB drive partitioned 6 ways, with different cloned instances of various systems. You can choose which system to boot from in the 'startup' pane in system preferences.
for example, when 10.7 Lion comes out, the worse thing you can do is to outright install on top of the existing system. A new system might not work in the beginning for various reasons, hardware or software conflicts, unupdated drivers, etc Before the kinks are worked out, a person might have to go back to a previous copy. Boy, am i sure glad i had that up to the minute clone . . .

  • JMF crashed with Logitech QuickCam Pro for Notebook using latest driver.

JMF crashed with Logitech QuickCam Pro for Notebook using latest driver
I can't register the webcam in JMF. WinXP crashed with Blue-screen-of-dead.
The crash occurs on installation of JMF when the installer tries to detect my capture devices.
Windows also crashes when i open the JMF Registry Editor and tell it to search for my capture devices.
I use a QuickCam Pro for Notenooks with driver version 11.80.1065.0000 on Windows XP with JMF 2.1.1e.
PS: I can use JMF to connect to other brand's webcam.
    So, how to solve it?

So, how to solve it?JMF apparently doesn't work with that camera...so if you want to install JMF, you should unplug your Logitech cam. If that doesn't work, uninstall it.

  • Creative System Information with conflict with Nero Expr

    Hi to all,
I noticed that I could not access the Creative System Information (CSI) in the Creative Products tab in the area of Creative software, anything under that. I was able to go to 40 software number but no to the information of each software. The CSI hanged or stopped responding. I needed to close the program. I found the cause of the problem. I encountered the problem so far only when I have Nero Express 6 or demo even Nero 5 installed. When I uninstalled that Nero program, I had access again to all the information under Creative software, 40 of them. It looks that there is conflict between Nero and CSI. Does anybody notice this too? What is going on and what is the solution? You help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Medico

Solution! I discovered the problem causing the system crash, and I think it is sufficiently interesting to note here so that others may benefit from what I discovered. First, there is no fundamental problem/conflict with the driver for Webcam Live Pro. The trouble in my instance is that I was running another program that utilized the web cam, and that program conflicted with the Webcam Live Pro program that was constantly running in the system tray. Basically, the program in the system tray is loaded with the set-up for Webcam Live Pro. It constantly monitors the computer system to see if the cam is connected to the computer. When it does this while another program is using the cam, the conflict occurs, causing the entire computer to reboot. The solution is to right mouse click the icon for Webcam Live Pro in the system tray, go to settings, and to remove the check that allows the program to check for the presence of the web cam. Just to be safe, I then also exited the Webcam Live Pro program from the system tray so that nothing from that program could interfere with my use of the webcam using another program.
The result is that the webcam is rock solid, with no system crashes. I have been running it nonstop for hours without a problem.
I hope this helps someone else.
    Best,

  • Flash Player 10 does not work in IE or Firefox. What could it conflict with?

I'm  using Firefox 3.6.8 (and sometimes IE 8.0.6001.18702IC) on Windows XP Pro, SP 3.
For some weeks now, I have been unable to hear any sounds on anything Flash-based, from YouTube to games at MSN.com or embedded videos on any site using Flash.  Initially I had assumed it to be because of having QuickTime installed because I know QT likes to hijack everything.  I uninstalled QT (and Real Player) and Flash Player then reinstalled Flash Player (and Shockwave Player just in case) and guess what?
Yup.  Nothing.  When I uninstalled everything, I used a program called Revo Uninstaller, which includes a registry cleaning option.  I then used Abexo and WinASO's registry cleaners to make sure I got everything else that even looked like QuickTime off my hard drive.
When I reinstalled Flash, the following programs appeared in C:\Windows\system 32\Macromed\Flash:
    Flash 10i.ocx (10.1.82.76)
    FlashUtil10i_ActiveX (10.1.82.76)
    FlashUntil10i_Plugin (10.1.82.76)
    genuinst (6.0.2800.1531)
    FlashUtil10i_ActiveX.dll (10.1.82.76)
    NPSWF32.dll (10.1.82.76)
    KB931433
    FlashInstall
    Install
    Flashplayer.xpt
When I check IE's "Tools" and look for add-ons, it says that Flash (Shockwave Flash) is enabled.  I even enabled the other Adobe add-ons for Acrobat and such just to be sure.  Firefox shows Shockwave Flash and Shockwave for Director both to be enabled.  The Flash control panel settings don't help: I have all sites set to store about 100 KB on my computer to make sure there's enough room for everything but still nothing.
Before anyone asks, my audio drivers are up to date, thanks to the manufacturer's website.  I have DirectX 9.0c installed and everything else works fine.  I can play audio and video elsewhere with no problems.  It's only Flash that's showing me this trouble and there's no hint as to what else could be interfering with Flash.
    Any ideas?

Well, great.  I tried the uninstall/reinstall before, but not with the uninstaller, so I was hopeful that this time might do it.  No such luck.  The video still plays, but no sound.
All the sound settings are working with everything else from games to media players.  I set Windows' firewall to allow both the ActiveX and plugin for Flash, just in case.
In the Flash folder, I now have:
    Flash10l.ocx (10.1.102.64)
    Flash Util10l_ActiveX (10.1.102.64)
    FlashUtil10l_Plugin (10.1.102.64)
    Genuinst (6.0.2800.1531)
    FlashUtil10l_ActiveX.dll (10.1.102.64)
    NPSWF32.dll (10.1.102.64)
And the setup and text files that went with 'em.
I've also done a system restart since then and zip.
I went through IE and Firefox and looked for any file associations (like .flv) that I could manually change over to using Flash, but no go.  The settings panels for Flash have all been set to allow YouTube specifically (as a test) and to allow 10KB of storage space for all affected sites.
Now what?  I'm really not looking forward to a reformat and reinstall, but it's looking like that's what it's going to take.

Subject: Flash Player 10 does not work in IE or Firefox. What could it conflict with?
Something is strange with your list of modules; you list FlashUntil10i_Plugin (10.1.102.64), but this is really 10.1.85.3
I recommend that you uninstall Flash Player completely (using http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html), then restart Windows, and delete all remaining files in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash.
Next reinstall both ActiveX (http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe) and the plugin (http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe).
After that, if the problem persists, have a look at this page http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/837/cpsid_83739.html

  • Premiere Elements 9 conflicting with NVIDIA GeForce 7500LE?

I am editing home video using PE9.  When I attempt to run the program I get one of two error messages (sometimes I get both together) within moments of adding media to the project or editing media.  1.  "Display Driver NVIDIA window kernel mode driver, version 260.99 stopped responding and has successfully recovered." and/or 2.  "NVIDIA Open GL driver lost connection with the display driver and is unable to continue.  The application must close.  Please visit NVIDIA.  Error Code 8."  In either case PE9 either locks up or shuts down and I lose my work and any progress made that wasn't saved.  I have been able to edit  a short project.  But it is maddening.  Add media, save, crash, restart, edit a point, save,  crash, restart etc....
I can edit video with other software by NERO and MS.  But I prefer PE9.  I HAVE udated both PE9 and my NVIDIA drivers to the most current versions.  I HAVE searched both companys' knowledge bases and have not been able to find a resolution.  I did notice that the most recent driver update from NVIDIA addressed known conflicts between their driver and Creative Suite 5.  But the driver hasn't made any improvement.  I did chose to use software rendering instead of hardware in the options for PE9.  And that has helped a little.  But there hasn't been an appreciable improvement.  I had PE8 prior to 9 on this system and did not have this problem.
I am using a HP Pavillion m7667c with intel dual core, MS Windows 7 64b, NVIDIA GeForce 7500LE with the most recent driver (from 10/2010).  I have plenty of HDD space and plenty of memory.
Any advice would be appreciated.  Heck I would even take recommedations for a new graphics card that would fit a PCI slot.

    Neale:
That is very helpful.  I already had a current version of QuickTime so I don't think that was the problem.  Disabling my internet connection and disabling my anti virus program (Avast) improved the function of the program.  I was able to use it for :30 without a breakdown.  I will try it some more over the next few days and see if the improvement holds.
Of course it would be nice to be able to remain connected to my network as much of my media is on my home server.  But I'll take what I can get at this point.
    Thanks
    Tom

  • Do I have a conflict with iTunes 7.6.2 . . or what ?

Dunno if I do or not, but . . shortly after upgrading to iTunes 7.6.2 we suffered a power "Blink" . . and when i noticed it had happened the Mac was attempting to restart . . with a blinking Mac, then a question mark in the icon . . nothing else . . In the past I've seen it once before, and a shutdown and restart was all that was necessary . . This time . . NO . . Nada, same deal, through 8 restarts . .
I finally reinstalled OSX 10.1, and followed with all the updates directly from Apple . . using the "Update" command under the apple . . It now does "funky" things . . like, one, it doesn't recognize the WD External HD on the desk top, but it does in the system profiler . . another, once in a while a dialog box comes up asking what to do with a disk, initialize, eject or ignore . . and probably what leads me to believe it could be a conflict with iTunes is during shut down, iTunes will not "Quit", even when using "Force Quit" . . it will close the desktop, go to a blue screen and then start up again . .
And . . I'd really like to install 10.4 but I can't seem to find anyone with a legal one for sale . . I called Apple a week ago and they said they might produce them in four or five weeks . . what's my options here?

None the less . . we still gots gremlins . .
And while I'm asking . . how come Safari is so fragile? The other nite, my wife and I were making reservations and one motel group's site crashed Safari just about 2/3ds the way through opening every time we tried . . went over to Explorer and it opened about twice as fast and operated smoothly . . This happens a lot at different sites . . always wants to know if I want to report it . . To Who?
Is 3.4.11 going to exorcise those gremlins or do I have to hire some IT Guy . . ? I've owned a Mac of some kind since the Mac IIx, (about 5, I think) but it's a tool, not a toy to me . . I just drive it . . run McJanitor once a month, clean out the icons in Safari's library and all the little maintenance thingies, but I'm no troubleshooter . . .

  • Is anyone else having conflict with 10.8.2 update and audio files?

I recently updated from 10.8.1 to 10.8.2 (big mistake).  Now my digital interface has all of these random clicks and pops.  Worse yet, when I try and play my audio files (Digital Performer) or ITUNES that music stops, starts, stutters and is basically unlistenable.  Before the update everything ran smoothly.  I talked with the tech support for my digital music application (Digital Performer) and he thinks there is a conflict with the latest Apple update too.  Is anyone else having these problems?
To get back to 10.8.1 do I have to wipe the hard drive and re-install everything?  I use my Mac for music production so this is killing me.  Any ideas?

I once again reloaded 10.8.2, all of the current firewire, USB, and printer drivers (why not make sure those are up to date too, what have I got to lose?).  Checked the cables, the Mac firewire ports etc.  No change.
So I bought a cheap back up firewire drive (Western Digital, My Passport Studio-about $100).  That worked perfectly on the firewire port of my Mac Pro.
I hooked up my MOTU 828 firewire audio interface into the Western Digital's second firewire port, and everything works perfectly.
I wish I had known that daisey chaining devices would solve my problem before I spent $500 on a new firewire interface.
If you are having similar problems with firewire connection, then try daisey chaining through a device that has no problems.  Who knew a solution could be so simple?

  • Each time I connect to my IBM computer it crashes with blue screen error message pops up. Apple say that it's my printer/camera drivers. The problem is with iTunes, it likes to play with all the ports on my comp and conflicts with prnt drivers. How to fix

Does anyone know how to fix this problem without disabling my printer. It's very frustrating. It's either I have my iPad or my printer. iTunes likes to play with the ports on my computer thereby causing a conflict with my printer drivers. Apple should fix this problem, I'm so annoyed.

When this problem first happened, I searched for threads and found a few.  See be;ow links:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1502
Apple say that its a driver problem, but I've never had this problem before so I am not convinced. Another thread, which I can't seem to find, suggests that it is an apple problem - itunes plays with the ports on the company causing conflicts with existing drivers. I isolated the conflict to my new Samsung printer. I uninstalled the Samsung printer driver and then can successfully connect my ipad without the blue screen appearing.
It's not a windows problem. Windows is working fine. Only happens when Ipad is connected. Actually, this first happened after I installed the new version of itunes. I reget installing the new itunes version, but don't know how to reinstall the previous itunes version.

  • IPod Touch conflict with HP 6500 All-in-One printer...

Does anyone know of anyone who has an iPod Touch installed with an HP all-in-one printer and running under Windows 7 64 bit? If so I'd like to hear from them and see if I can pick their brains a bit. In fact, I'd like to hear from anyone who has an iPod Touch working with an HP all-in-one on a desktop system, no matter the OS.
Originally I tried to get them to work together under a 32 bit Windows 7 Premium build on an MSI G31M3-F V2 mobo but couldn't get the iPod and the All-in-One to work together. Either the iPod wouldn't synch or the printer would disconnect.
Yesterday I started with a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit build on an Asus P5Q-EM mobo with just the HP 6500 All-in-One and the printer and all of its functions were working perfectly.
Then I plugged in the iPod, after having installed the newest 64 bit version of iTunes, and it detected the device but wouldn't complete the driver installation. I powered down the HP 6500 and the iPod installation completed.
I then turned the printer on and it appeared to work but the iPod wouldn't complete the sync process unless I turned the printer off.
Then I changed the drive letter of the HP all-in-one's integrated card reader from "E:" to "G:" and rebooted and it appeared that everything was working. I brought the scanner up but didn't actually scan anything but, still, no disconnect messages. Finally, success I thought. Silly me...
Today my daughter tried to send a fax from the computer. It started the scan, stopped after only partially scanning and said that the printer was disconnected.
She then rebooted and tried to scan a photo and it did essentailly the same thing -- a partial scan, froze, and then reported the printer offline.
Uninstalling the iPod Touch device resulted in the printer coming back online and all functions working perfectly.
There is clearly a conflict at the device/driver assignment level and I don't know if its even anything that I can fix.
This should not be this hard.
Has anyone any experience with the iPod Touch running on a desktop that also has an HP All-in-One device installed?

Finally installed a completely new OS and then, before doing anything else, installed iTunes and connected the iPod. Installed everything else with the HP printer being the very last thing.
    Wa La... Worked as advertised...

  • PP CS6 on Retina Macbook conflicts with YouTube/Pandora

I bought my Retina Macbook recently, and the first thing I did was to install Premiere Pro CS6 on it. I did the hack - inserted GeForce GT 650M to the list - and enabled the Mercury Playback Engine.
Ever since then, I've been having all sorts of problems, but the most annoying problem is that in the midst of editing, somehow Program Monitor would either freeze or black-out.
I seriously tried every possible ways I could do to resolve this as an average user. I tried resetting the preferences, switching the drives, turning the machine on & off, and all the magic joojoos. None of them worked, until I found out the problem starts to happen as I open other applications along with the Premiere Pro opened.
I began to wonder, does the graphic card or Premiere Pro CS6 conflict with any programs I have opened? So I tested it out.
I found out that while having CS6 and Safari (or any kinds of web-browsing programs) on, the "crashes" occur very often. I also found out it typically happens when I turn on Pandora and YouTube.
The moment I shut off the Pandora tab, YouTube tab, or even websites with any kinds of visual or audio media turned on, the freezing or black-out situation on the Program Monitor immediately stops. If turning off the tabs doesn't work, then quitting the program entirely solves the problem.
From what I've tested, it's for sure to say Flash or Video Playback on webpages conflicts with GT650M card. It's certainly not the software problem, because when Software Only mode is turned on, all the images come back on the Project Monitor. I mean, what kind of weird conflict is this?
Can anyone else with a Retina MacBook confirm this?
In case if Anyone is wondering, this is the setup I've used.
    Retina Display Macbook Pro
    16GB Ram option
    256GB SSD option
    NVidia GT650M 1GB VRAM
    Video files in the SSD

    It's absolutely woeful.
Like traveling back in time with modern software and putting it on last generation hardware... or two generations previous hardware.
What floors me the most is that there's not any spikes or even utilisation of the CPU and GPU going on... I have CPU and GPU monitoriing software for the more beserk applications I use.  I checked them out when using Illustrator and Indesign.  The CPU and GPU is hardly getting tickled... so it's JUST poor software engineering at work.  VERY POOR software engineering.
There's at least 90% of the CPU and GPU power completely unused during moving operations and object creation.  So it COULD be fast, and performant, if they cared to actually use the CPU and/or GPU more effectively/thoroughly when we want to DO something inside the software.
I don't even know how you'd code something this woefully under performant.  You'd have to plan to do it, or be using MONO or some other uselessly single threaded, low priority frame work...
Maybe these apps are programmed in Java
