Job is in suspened state

Dear SDNers,
How do we know a job is in suspended state.
because some of my ECC jobs are in Released\ from last 2 days and scheduled time as 2 days back only..it runs for every 3 hrs .
Thanks,Swathi

Hi,
Well here's what you need to do.
If the job is in 'Released' state in ECC, that implies that it has received no background work process (WP) to start the activity.
Please check the background work processes with SM66 or SM51 (here choose the server and check the work process status).
Check how many BGD (background) work processes are in 'Waiting' state.
Here the work processes will most probably be either 'On hold' or 'running' state. Go inside the work process and see what activity was being done last after which it got stuck and then inform the basis team to end the work process forcefully.
This will solve your issue.

  • Scheduled jobs are in released state only

    Dear Experts,
we shedule jobs in background periodically. But for a particular time, all scheduled jobs are in released state only. Please suggest what might be the issue. Even some SAP std jobs have have not started.

    Hi Raghavendra,
Have you checked enough BTC work process available in your SAP system.
Use SM65 transaction, goto =>Additional Tests ;check mark "Determine work process status" and "Determine no of jobs in queue"
and see the test results for any problems.

  • Job remains in active state indefinitely

    hello everyone,
i had a request to create a spool for a background job.
i was getting numerous spools getting created after my coding.i some how rectified the issue and a single spool is generated now.
but the job remains in active state only.
    please suggest

check at workprocess level, if the job doing nothing and showing Active on SM37 cancel it and rerun.

  • Jobs stays in waiting state but does not ever run in target system

This usually happens when there is a network problem or the target system is down for some reason. Is there a way to ignore the waiting status so that the next scheduled job runs would be affected? If not can CPS be configured to constantly request for the actual status of the job in the target system?

    Hi,
Set the below parameter on the process server of the target system for which  jobs stays in waiting state.
    Parameter: SAP_MaxReconnectTime  value: 60
Reason: Process servers tries to connect to Target system at the time when the network issue happens and due to that It does not connect to the target SAP system and all the jobs stays in waiting status.
When you set this parameter with the value (what ever you want in Minutes), it will automatically try to reconnect to the target SAP System at every 60 min (or the value provided) when ever it loses the connection with Target system and Jobs will start processing again.

  • Job is in scheduled state for longer time.

    Hi All,
I am running a load which involves extraction from source system. The load was taking longer than the usual time. I grew suspicious and checked the status of the job in the source system. But that was sitting in the scheduled state and when i try to change the job status , not able to do so. I checked the BGD processes availability and they were all in waiting status.
What can be done for this? Suggest ....

Hi..the issue you have is probably due to the fact that already a lot many jobs are running in background in your R/3 system and unless they finish you job will not get any background processes to get it to active state from the scheduled state.
Now thats why usually BW loading are done at night or off hours of business when transactions or r/3 jobs are not running much.
Schedule your job at a time when background processes are available then you won't face this issue.
Contact the basis handling the R/3 system.

  • Create spool for background jobs which uses submit statement

    Hi Gurus,
I have a quick question regarding the backgroud jobs. When we run a program in the background , it should create a spool for us, but, the problem comes when I am running a program in the background, its not creating the spool. This program uses SUBMIT statement. This program collects the data and it will submit to the other program and then retuen. In this case, its not creating a spool. Its very important for us to look at the spool for this program. Does anybody cam across this kind of problem? I need ur inputs.

  • Backup job stuck in running state

    Hi
I am using 11gR2 RAC on Windows 2008 R2. I have several different database jobs stuck in a running state. However if I check the view v$session_longops I can not see anything in there relating to RMAN. If I drill down to the job and the step that is running, in the Error Log it states:
    error writing input to command
Could someone point me in the right direction as to how to investigate this?
    Thanks

if you know that the execution finished or is hung, use this query:
    SELECT p.SPID, s.sid, s.serial#, sw.EVENT, sw.SECONDS_IN_WAIT AS
    SEC_WAIT, sw.STATE, CLIENT_INFO
    FROM V$SESSION_WAIT sw, V$SESSION s, V$PROCESS p
    WHERE s.client_info LIKE 'rman%'
    AND s.SID=sw.SID
    AND s.PADDR=p.ADDR;
    and kill them.

TEST_JOB   null          null          null Job is remaining in hang state, could you please let me know possible reason?
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
Actually your syntax is exactly right for running a single run-immediate job.
it looks like the slave running your job may have crashed or terminated unexpectedly. You should do a stop_job (force=>true) on your job and you should look through your job slave trace files j0trc for reasons why your job slave did not finish the job. You can also try grepping your job slave traces for the job name 'TEST_JOB' to find the right trace.
    Hope this helps,
    Ravi.

  • Agent job step - using print statement in tsql step doesnt show up

I want to execute a procedure, then use print to write a short message into the job history.  The step executes fine, but the message doesnt show up in the history.
    print 'hello'
    what gives?

PRINT command is not intended to be used for writing into the history. If you need such information, you may have a special log table and write into it using insert statement.
Alternatively, you may google on writing to text file from SQL Server, but I would not recommend that approach.

  • Process chain jobs struck in released state

    Hi,
We have a strange problem with process chains, After the process chain is
triggered in the middle of the PC, one of the process step job is getting struck
in released state and not moving to active, what might be the probelm, please suggest.
    Thanks.

    Hi....
Actually this issue sometime happens due to more number of active jobs in the system.........If the number jobs running is huge.........then there will be no free work process.........and all the jobs will stucked in release state only......
Also due to poor system performance also we face this issue.......check ST04 if there is any locks or deadlocks.......Also check ST22 for shortdumps and check the system log in SM21.........
This also sometimes happens due to memory problem.....
You can manually trigger the event to make the job active ..........Right click on the process>> Go to Display messages >> from the chain tab copy the After event and With Parameter.............go to sm64.............search the after event >> click on execute>> give the parameter and execute............it will start the job.............
U can also use the Function module BP_EVENT_RAISE............go to SE37 >> BP_EVENT_RAISE >> Click on Text/Execute.........give the copied event and parameter and execute.......
    Hope this helps........

  • Monitor database job-find out current statement and bind values

    Hi all,
we have a job running on one of our databases which sometimes runs for a very long time.
Sometimes it it is necessary to kill that job because it is blocking normal work.
Therefore it is important to find out the current statements the job is processing in order to avoid too much trouble after killing.
Job processing is a chain of several procedures that insert, update, delete from different tables dependant on initital user input.
Database is 10203 on solaris 10. Job was created with dbms_job (no em job).
Is there any way to find out the job's current statement and relevant bind values?

  • Risk Analysis Batch Job Stuck in Ready State

    Hi,
I am not able to schedule  Risk Analysis Batch job in RAR.The job is getting stuck on READY state(for unlimited period) and not performing any actions.
Nothing is displayed under job history or job logs with job ID.I have check background job demaon ,connectors and other miscell. options but not abl to find any clue.
Even i am executing risk analysis for single user,it's not happening.

For your problem, of job not getting schedule....it seems Deamon is not running.
To delete status of job which are in hung status
change VIRSA_CC_SCHEDULER job id should with status five will show job aborted.
are you using connection type 'Adaptive RFC', don't use it, use SAP JCO.
    and restart your GRC box.

  • Promotion and report schedule job goes to pending state

    hi everyone,
we are using BO4.1 SP02 Patch 1 platform, suddenly now report schedules and promotion jobs are not promoting and it goes pending state.
we restarted the LCM APS and AJS , but still promotion job in pending state
we also restarted Webi APS and AJS but still schedule in pending state.
anyone faced this problem before, could you please help us to find the cause.
    Regards,
    Ganesh

    HI Ganesh
Can you make it 1 and try out once
    Because 1 = OUTPROC and 100 = MIXEDPROC
Outproc causes the job server children to shut down after every job
Mixedproc causes the job server children to shut down after every 100 jobs
and Job server children will be automatically shutdown if left unused for more than 2 hours
Can you check the taskmanager for the jobserverchild.exe is created or not ???
    Please get back

  • Why my BPM related job goes to sceduled state in sxmb_moni?

    Hi Gurus,
I am facing a unique problem in a sample BPM scenario. When I run this scenario my corresponding request in sxmb_moni goes to sceduled state. I have to go to QRFC monitor to unlock it. After this my BPM request runs to success. I am not able to understand why this is happening. Why it does not run in one go without getting locked in QRFC?
My BPM scenario is like this: I am sending a customer number from a ABAP program from SAP R/3 system to XI system via outbound Async interface. This inturn sends customer number to BPM via abstract interface. The BPM then gets customer data from MSSQL server via JDBC adapter and inbound interface.
    This scenario is Async-Sync type.
I don't see any problem with the mapping, interface etc.
The scenario runs successfully once I unlock the request in QRFC monitor.
Can somebody help me identify the reason why my BPM request goes to sceduled state in sxmb_moni?

Can you try activating/registering your queues .
    sxmb_adm -> manage queues -> activate queues / SXMB_ADM -> Manage Queues -> Register Queues.
Also in SMQ2 activate individual queues if any.
