LabVIEW code generation failed to execute.

Hello, I'm having a problem that already was posted. When I'm trying to change a resistor value on the "sensor de presiones" VI, I get the error that is mentioned in the subject.
I read on other posts that a possible cause would be that some drivers were installed incorrectly, so I uninstalled and then installed again both LabVIEW and NI-DAQmx9.9 (in that order) and I still get the same error, so I can't change that value.
Screenshots of the situation were attached.
Please, any help is appreciated.

FPGA Code Generation fails with error codes 7 and -1

Hi all,
I have been having a weird issue with my LV FPGA compilation in the last couple of days, no matter what I try to compile LV fails to generate the FPGA code files and returns with errors 7 and -1 and complains that the file is not found. This happens no matter what I am trying to compile even a VI with just a while loop. I followed the discussion forum here without any luck, also followed the NI article here and that did not help either. The error codes always get generated at the start of the Generating Intermediate files step #7 (out of 7).
Attached to this post is a screenshot of the error I am getting (error -1 just says internal error and to contact NI support), bellow is basically the error I get for error code 7

I tried to do some digging to see what could possibly be happening, and I noticed that LV is looking for the vhdl files in the wrong folder (see the line highlighted in red above), when generating the vhdl files, LV will place them inside the "source_files" folder under the compilation project, but for some reason it is trying to find them under the root folder not inside the source_files folder!!!
Does anyone have any idea why LV would be looking for these files in the wrong subfolder?

Hi Aws_Khudhair,
What version of LabVIEW are you using? And what version of the FPGA module? From what I found, it seems as though this is primarily an issue with LabVIEW 8.6 and 8.6.1.

NI Motion Assistant LabVIEW Code Generation Error

Hello, the following is my current setup:
NI PCI-7334 motion control board
NI UMI 7774 splitter board
3 x NI P70530 Drives
3 x NI CTP12ELF10MAA00 Stepper Motors
3 x Power supply units for drives
LabVIEW 2010
NI Motion Assistant 2.6
Motion and Automation Explorer 4.7
I have built a three axis motion system that I am trying to configure with labview. After verifying that everything was set up correctly, I opened MAX, updated the firmware to my motion control board, and intitialized the controller. Since then, I have created many basic programs using the Motion Assistant Software to test the movement of my device. Everything works fine while using the Motion Assistant software (I have three axis movement, multidirectional control, and can perform various straight line and arc moves). My problems begin when I try to use the code generation feature.
When trying to use the code generation feature to output a labview diagram, I run into a problem where a dialog box pops up and says "Find the vi named ...."
Some examples of the names that come up are: Configure Vector Space.flx, Vector Space To Control.flx, Motion Error Handler.flx.
To be clear the program in Motion Assistant that I am trying to export to LabVIEW code is composed of two individual steps. One that tells X,Y, and Z motors to move forward 25 revolutions, and one step that tells them to move backwards 25 revolutions.
I have made many other programs in Motion Assistant that run fine, but I always receive similar errors when trying to use the code generation feature to export to LabVIEW. Is there something that I can do to solve my problem?

I am using Ni-Motion Assistant 2.6, Ni-Motion 8.1, and Motion and Automated Explorer version 4.7.
The code I posted is supposed to tell Axis 1 to move 40 revolutions at 400 rpm. It works fine in Ni-Motion Assistant but when I try to generate a LabVIEW diagram I receive the following error, "Find the VI named 'Motion Error Handler.flx'". I have had it search my directory, as well as the disk that I installed both LabVIEW and Ni-Motion but no luck. Thanks for your help.

Model interface toolkit (MIT) code generation failes in simulink

Hello,
I'm running into an odd Simulink Coder failure and I can't tell if this is due to an NI/MIT but or a general Simulink Coder issue.
System:
Windows 7
Matlab/Simulink R2013b w/ Simulink Coder
MIT 2013 SP1
System target file = "NIVeriStand_VxWorks.tlc"
Not that we even get to this point but... my "WindRiver GNU Toolchain Setup Path" is properly configured to: c:\gccdist\supplemental\setup-gcc.bat
The attached image shows the error I'm getting:
"Error: Invalid character in: 'SMA_model/SMA Driven Arm/wire/Heat Transfer Model/ ', exiting code generation. The name cannot end with / character".
In the image you can see that the "Heat Transfer Model" subsystem in fact does not have a "/" in the name.
Has anyone else ever run into this code generation problem before? If so, any suggestions on how to get around it?

That error is actually being reported by Simulink® before the build process begins. I'm guessing you would see it regardless of the TLC file you choose. Interestingly, in my tests here Simulink® doesn't allow me to leave a subsystem with a "/" at the end of the name. It automatically changes the name back to what it was before I tried to add the "/." That same error you see in the compilation window is displayed in the command line output when I attempt it. It looks like I'm running a different version than you though.
The screen shot doesn't really confirm the subsystem block name itself, at least the hierarchy at the top of the window appears to have parsed out all backlashes. Could you provide a screenshot of the heat transfer model subsystem block?

NI Vision Assistant trial version doesn't allow LabView code generation

Hi,
I am trying to evaluate NI Vision Assitant 8.5. When I attempted "Create LabView VI..." available in the 'tools' menus I get an error message indicating that it needs LabView 7.1 or higher and IMAQ Vision 8.2.1 or higher. As I already have necessary LabView versions I downloaded IMAQ Vision 8.2.1 from NI web site but it appears IMAQ is not availabe for trial. It asks for an activation code which I dont have. Are there any trial codes availabe for NI IMAQ Vision 8.2.1 or higher?

NI IMAQ Vision (I presume you mean NI Vision Acquisition Software) contains three drivers (IMAQ, IMAQdx, and IMAQ I/O), only one of which requires a license (IMAQdx). You should be able to evaluate NI Vision Acquisition Software for 30 days by skipping the activation when it prompts. Was this option available?

What can I do about "LabVIEW load error code 38: Failed to uncompress part of the VI."

While attempting to load an executable LabVIEW application for LabVIEW 2009 SP1 on a Windows-XP machine when the following pop-up message occurs. "LabVIEW: Memory or data structure corrupt. An error occurs in loading VI 'NI_Gmath.lblib: Backward Bracket Search.VI'. LabVIEW load error code 38: Failed to uncompress part of the VI. The VI is most likely corrupt." What seems odd is that the same LabVIEW application loads fine when logged on as a privileged user account, but fails to load on a private user account.

Here's a thought:
So when something is decompressed, a temp folder is often used.
I have no idea why LabVIEW would be decompressing anything, but I suspect it is trying to put the decompressed file into a temp folder where the user does not have write permissions.
In the .ini file for your executable, you can add a line that specified the location of the temp folder to use:
tmpdir=C:\Temp
On my Win7 machine, the location is:
C:\Users\MyUserName\AppData\Local\Temp
On WinXP, it is probably:
C:\Documents And Settings\YourUserName\local settings\temp
Try changing the tmpdir key in your ini file to something to C:\Temp and see if that helps.

I have developed some labview codemodules as vi's without using the teststand utility library pallete
Now i have to run them in teststand.
While executing them(as a sequence) in teststand,i need to enter the data to the labview code at run time.For this labview front panel should appear as GUI or popup (while executing).Is it possible to do this without using teststand pallete.
or i need to change the code with teststand pallete(i think it is difficult now to change the code)
Plz provide a solution to this problem
Also one more,how and where to use the 'pass by reference' option

Also, you can, specify to display the front panel of your VI when you specify your VI in your sequence file.
There are examples, for dialog panel using LabVIEW, in the examples folder of TestStand and on the NI Web Site.

Export Adaptive Filter Toolkit Algorithm To C Using LabVIEW C Code Generation Toolkit

I want to evaluate the performance of some of the standard adaptive filters & have planned to use "Adaptive Filter Toolkit" from NI. Once the desired adaptive filter is selected I want to implement the same filter algorithm in FreeScale controller.
I understand that LabVIEW C code generation toolkit exports the LabVIEW code to ANSI C code. However, I'm interested in knowing if this toolkit would be able to export Adaptive filter toolkit algorithm as well (since the underlying IP would be in the form of DLL's).
Any help on this matter would highly be appreciated !!

LabView code module to perform simple pass/fail *IDN? query?

LabView 7.1, TestStand 3.1, NI PCIGPIB board controlling a communications service monitor and a power supply. I'm having problems with my application sync correctly between the service monitor and GPIB board. I suspect the driver. Does anyone have a simple LabView code module to perform a *IDN? with a partial (in case they change firmware versions)string comparison that I can use in a TestStand seq. At this point if failure I could pop-up and tell operator to abort test and reboot instrument. (only way I've found to clear the buffer). Note: At times this app works fine and is inconsistant in failure times/rates.

I've found I can perform a *IDN? using the Instrument I/O Assistant.vi. Ive placed this on a new block diagram and am changing it as I need. I've found in this particular case the *IDN? yields 3 tokens one of which I can use to perform a string comparison on. This will give me a boolean which I can wire to the pane for use by TestStand.

Mappings code generation : regular SQL / cursor PL/SQL

When designing mappings, I fear that code generation can be potentially dangerous, because OWB automatically chooses the best method to generate the code (regular SQL or PL/SQL).
I am looking for some examples where code generation for a mapping:
- gives a regular SQL statement
- gives a cursor-based PL/SQL
- a small change in a mapping makes a regular SQL mapping to be transformed in a cursor-based PL/SQL

I have not said that different modes executes at the same way what the use to have different options if they actually mean the same, right? I have said that they produced the same result i.e. if you expect the mapping to insert 1000 rows from the source to the target it will be done no matter which operation mode you choose.
But by different ways. To keep it simple lets say that:
set base mode will result in:
insert into target ()
select from source;
row based will result in:
begin
for a in (select * from source) loop
insert into target
end loop;
end;
Now lets assume that 5 rows from those 1000 you are going to insert, will break some NOT NULL constraint at the target.
If you choose Set-base mode entire insert from select will fail resulting no rows is inserted into target. Audit trail will contain message like constraint violated and thats it. You will have to find bad records by yourself.
If you choose Row-base mode 995 rows will be inserted (depending on mapping configuration) into the target and 5 will be listed in audit trail with the same constraint violated message.
Thats why default operating mode is Set based fail over to Row based. That means OWB will try to execute mapping in the fastest way set based, but if it fail, it will try again to accomplish the task by running in row base mode, providing complete audit trail fro bad rows.

Generation failed when doing a build in NWeaver studio

Hi experts,
while doing a dc build in my netweaver studio, i got a error. I ve checked all my codes and that there are no syntax error. Somehow there is something preventing the generation process. The log found recorded an error but never gave a hint as what could be the possible error. So i ve no clue what is causing the generation to fail. Please see log captured below. Is there anyway i can find out the cause of this error ?

Thanks a lot. Indeed i found the error in task view.
It is referring to a window in my webdynpro application.
"window has no InterfaceView".
Indeed the interface view is not there and there is no option for me to create the interface view.
So what i did is to delete the window so that i can create a new one and the interface view will thus be generated. But when i tried to delete the window, a null pointer exception window is pop out.
I remember when i created this window the other time, there was an exception.
So the question is how to create the interface view ?

Error 91 by Statechart Code Generation

I have problems with statechart formerly created with LV2009. Now I want to use this statechart with LV2012 but by generation of statechart I get the following message:
Failed to generate statechart. Fehler 91 bei Statechart Code Generation
Mögliche Ursachen:
LabVIEW: Der Datentyp des Variant ist nicht kompatibel mit dem Datentyp, der mit dem Eingang verbunden ist.
I deleted some VIs with Variant but I get the same message. It is a complex statechart - how can I find the reason for the error? With LV2009 everything was OK - but now I have a new computer with Win7-x64 an want to use LV2012.
After confirmation of error message i get a lot of error messages with the hint to typdefinitions in State/Inputs/Outputs but in the typdefinitions I didn't do any changes.

Hi Stephan,
I could solve the problem meantime by try and error (successive delete of states and so on). A reference to a .net-dll cause the error. The reference was in the StateData.ctl until now, because I need this reference in several states. Now I use a global variable to store the reference - not very nice, but I get no more errors from the statechart. The error message from LV2012 is misleading by this problem.

I just received instructions from the TMG software company to uninstall and install the PDF driver they use. This fixed the problem. Apparently upgrading to v7.01 damages the driver but reinstalling it corrects the problem.
