Laserjet 6040 control panel blank

We have a couple of 6040 MFP's that now have the same fault, when they are powered on the display panel will light up but nothing is displayed and we are unable to use webjet admin via the NIC. However if you leave the printers off for a couple of days and then turn them on they will often work ok (the display is fine and the nic is working again).
We have checked all the connections to the dispaly so I'm guessing its a hardware fault - has anyone else had this?

    There doesn't seem to be a Windows 8 forum.

    When did this issue happen? Contorl panel can function fine in a normal system, something (file system\registry info) might be corrupted in this case. First, please run the follow administrative cmd
    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    Meanwhile, please run a AV Scan to eliminste some malware\virus infection.
    If you have a restore point, I also suggest you return the system to a previous state at which everything is still functioning, but please note that you will lost some recent settings (boot into Advanced startup option, then choose restore point).

  • HP LaserJet 4200 blank control panel LCD, no lights, prints fine

    I turned on the printer today, it made the usual fan noises and clunking around to setup.  Yet display remained blank and the ready light did not come on. Powered off, powered on.  Same thing.  Tried printing.  Worked fine. There is no backlight to the display, so I tried looking closely with a flashlight.  Still nothing. It seems like there is no power going to the control panel.  What is the most likely culprit?  Is there a way to test to make sure before ordering a new part? I opened up the cover, removed the screws and took a close look at the connection into the control panel board and it is snug, so I didn't mess with it further.  What is my next step?

    So what is the average expected wait time for a response here?  My printer has been sitting in pieces on the floor for 12 days now, with no response with even a hint of a suggestion from anyone.  I'm guessing at this point I should just write this website off as a loss and try and find some other help forum?

    the control panel in the Color Laserjet pro MFP M176n is not working, is all blank, i can´t see anithhing in it. Is there a reset button or should i take it to the store where i buy it for a checkup?

    Welcome to the HP forum. 
    I understand you have done quite a lot to resolve your M176n and its connection to the ePrint service. 
    I would like to help you with this issue. 
    If the printer is not printing the web services info sheet, or allowing you to add it to HP Connected, I
    would set a manual DNS. 
    I wont go into great detail about setting this up. From your post, I feel you know your way around the printer and your network. If I am mistaken, let me know. I will go into detail. 
    The DNS to try is:
    Primary: 209.244.0.3
    Secondary: 209.244.0.4
    Set the DNS then try printing the web services info page again.

    HP LaserJet 500 color MFP M575  have no Display. and is not anymore possible access any function. What is the problem behind that ?How can we solve this issue ? is it the problem with the control panel display or the logic board ? there is no dim memmory instaled in the system .

    +For now I have it set to Share Public IP address - Is this correct for my Network Setup with The Airport Extreme being the only router being used ?+
    This would be the correct setting if the AirPort Extreme is connected to a simple modem (one ethernet port).
    *Settings I have Enabled*
    5 GHz name indicates that you have elected to use the option to assign a separate name to the 5 GHz network. This will allow you to "tell" compatible computers to connect to that network, rather than the slower 2.4 GHz network
    Use Wide Channels is recommended for 5 GHz operation.
    Interference Robustness often does more harm than good and should not be used unless you know you are in a area with a lot of wireless networks and you feel that your network is experiencing interference issues from a nearby network.

    i have an issue that i couldn't find an answer on the internet.
    We use HP LaserJet m1212nf multifunctional device in our company via networking. It has a static IP adress and the latest firmware. Also the software and drivers are the latest one. On Windows XP machines scanning and printing is working great, but also we have one PC with windows 7 pro 32bit edition. At first everything was fine, but from this monday the printer in control panel goes offline, so we can't print or scan for several days. Have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, upgrading, fixing software and drivers - nothing helped. Checked also HP servises - everything is running. Also no events found in windows event log.

    Disable the firewalls or open ports on them?

    Thanks for the reply.
    Although the security of Windows XP SP3 32 bit is compromised by Microsoft no longer supporting XP, if Windows XP was restored as claimed, you should still be able to install/uninstall Premiere Elements versions of it that you did before the Microsoft support removal.
    I think a revisit to the Geeks would be in order. It may be that they could not restore Windows XP because of the Microsoft non support. I would take along the Premiere Elements installation disks so that you do not leave there without actually seeing Premiere Elements (or a non Adobe program) running on your restored Windows XP. What was the other software that you tried to use that did not work?

  • Blank Control Panel 6500a plus

    Recenly purchased a Photojet 6500A Plus. It's been working fine for the past two weeks. Today the control panel screen is illuminated, but blank. Unplugged unit, but the problem persists.
    Any recommendations?

    It sounds like there may be an issue with an electrical connection in your Deskjet 3510.  However, it could also be something simply tied up in the internal software of the printer.
    The first step I would advise is to perform a full power drain on the unit.
    Unplug the printer while powered on
    Unplug the other end of the power cord from the direct wall outlet
    Separate the power cord from the power module in the middle of the cord length
    Wait 60 seconds
    Plug the power cord and module back together
    Plug the power cord into the printer and the other end into a direct wall outlet for power
    Does the unit begin to power up and function as intended at this point?

  • HP LaserJet M1120n Multifunction Printer, control panel display

    Hi,
    Yesterday here was an electrisity cut. After that all devices worked normally, except the printer. Control panel display of the printer was out of function and control panel buttons  didn't work.
    I turned  the printer off and waited some time. After that I tried to restart the printer. I heard that the printer started, but the display didn't work though, even I waited couple of hours . How could I solve this problem and can you help me?

    I see that the display isn't working on the printer since you had a power outage. I will certainly do my best to help you.
    Can you still print to the printer?
    Make sure there is no damage on the power cord and that it is connected directly to a wall outlet.
    The printer shouldn't be exposed to any electric or magnetic field.
    Try another power cord, you can use a monitor power cord to test it. Just to rule that out.
    I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
    Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 30-60 seconds.
    Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
    This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
    Try another wall outlet in another room, on another breaker. Just to make sure that isn't causing the issue.

  • Control Panel Response Groups Empty/Blank

    Good day all - I am starting to tinker around with Response Groups and was going to create my first group. However, when accessing the Response Groups via Control Panel, nothing is labeled. Also, I noticed (running Lync 2010) there is not a service running

    If that your only Lync pool and you're still configured for EV without that enabled?  I didn't know that was possible.  :)  Interesting.
    That said, if you go to the properties on your Standard Edition Pool, you should be able to check that box.  Once checked, you'll need to publish the topology and rerun step 2 of the Lync deployment wizard to add the new roles.  Once the role are
    added, you'll need to start additional services or reboot.  I'd suggest working with that off-hours and making sure you have a backup of your topology if you need to back out.

    I have in my office a HP Laserjet 6040 MFP which some one put a password for the web management and now i can't configure send to folder/networking anything...
    My question is how can i do a reset to factory defaults which may restore access to admin config page on the jetdirect web management?

  • Solution to iCloud control panel 4 sign-in server error under windows 8.1x64

    Potential solution for icloud 3.1 and 4.0 installation and iTune store sign-in, all showing errors or sign-in errors due to server error.
    My setup is Iphone 4S upgraded to ios8, ipad Air still on 7.1.2, windows PC on Win8.1x64 and with icloud 3.1 working fine till I tried to
    upgrade/install/re-install 4.0 icloud control panel after upgrade to ios8. See end of message for other alternatives I had tried.
    This worked for me.
    There seem to be some programmes that is conflicting with Apple's, so download this free program autoruns suggested by Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
    Run the program and choose the the "Winsock Providers", any other programme that shows up here except Bonjour (which is used by Apple) may be conflicting with the sign-in.
    Uninstall those potentially conflicting programs
    Inside autoruns->Winsock Provider, right click on the conflicting programs and choose delete. This would stop the conflicting program to start up
    again. Reboot the computer
    Install icloud control panel, sign in
    If works, reinstall those conflicting programs again and all back to normal, with iCloud control panel working
    If doesn't work, my mojo not strong enough and you need to google for more help.
    Other activities I googled, tried and failed
    a) Adding Apple icloud program and services into the windows firewall
    b) Uninstall version 4.0, re-install 3.1 (about 10 times)
    c) create a new Apple ID to sign in
    d) Sign out of icloud from my devices (iphone and ipad)
    e) switch to Android devices

    You need to edit the MSI installer and change the Launch Condition to allow iCloud Control Panel 3.1 to be installed on Windows Server 2008 R2.
    First, download Orca, an MSI editor. You can get it from the Windows SDK. (Download and only check the box for "Development Tools" under Native components during installation, then go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.1\Bin and install Orca.msi)
    Launch Orca and then find the iCloud(64).msi to edit.
    If using Apple Software Update, browse to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update and open iCloud(64).msi in Orca.
    Or download iCloudSetup.exe and use a zip program (7-zip) to extract the MSI from the exe and open it in Orca.
    In Orca, select the LaunchCondition table and look for the condition "(VersionNT >= 601) AND (MsiNTProductType = 1)". Change the number 1 to a number 3 so the condition should read "(VersionNT >= 601) AND (MsiNTProductType = 3)". Save and exit Orca.
    Then double click on the msi and it should install successfully now.
