Late Fee policy

I have been with Verizon for almost 10 years. Lately they do things that i believe are unfair. I was told years ago that there was a 10 day grace period to pay my bill without a let fee. Two months ago i noticed that i was being charged a late fee even though i was paying my bill on the 10th day. I called and was told that "Yes, we tell you that there is a 10 day grace period, but it isn't written anywhere." What kind of global company does this? Can't they be sued for false advertisement especially when it is done sometimes but sometimes it isn't? I am lookingg at T-mobile since they are trying to increase their business, verizon has manipulated the plans so much that the discount i get from my employer doesn't even make a dent in my bill. Also, the last time that i upgraded one of the three phones on my plan i was charged a $30 upgrade fee that they neglected to list anywhere, how misleading!  I called to question this and was told that the phones were now so expensive that the discount they give on the price of the phone doesn't cover the cost of the phone for Verizon. This is incredibly stupid because they should add that fee in with the cost of the phone which is more honest than adding it on the back end as some kind of unknown fee? Verizon you had better get your act together or you will find yourself on the bad end of a class action lawsuit and losing customers, people want to save money not give it all to you!

Where did you last upgrade your phone? If it was at a Verizon store, the $30 upgrade fee IS listed on each and every phone displayed in the stores and has been displayed for quite some time.
If you sign into your account and check phone prices online the $30 upgrade fee IS listed in the description/price for each and every phone on the website and has been for quite some time.
If you upgraded at a 3rd party retailer such as Best Buy or Amazon, that is THEIR failure, not Verizon's.
It seems to me interesting someone is complaining Verizon is tacking a fee on the "back end" when it appears you like to pay your bill "on the back end" AFTER the due date at the last possible moment. Just possibly, you didn't make it in under the wire this time???? Maybe if you paid your bill a bit earlier, you wouldn't have to worry about the late fee?
Good luck with your next carrier as I am sure they ALSO charge a late fee. They ALSO charge a HIGHER upgrade fee.

  • Phone Agent LIED about removing Late Fee

OK, so I had to biz-travel a bit this past Spring, inadvertantly got behind on the bill, paid up in full, incl. LATE FEE--online--June 21st, in the wee hours, before phone agents available. Later that evening, thought "doesn't hurt to ask", got a live agent/rep on the line (Philippines call center), very nice and professional, who, after much time on hold, TOLD ME CLEARLY AND DEFINITIVELY that the Late Fee had been WAIVED, and "thank you for being a Comcast customer, yadda-yadda"... put it out of my mind as another item crossed off my to-do list. So imagine my chagrin when I went to pay my bill this month, ON TIME, only to find that there had been no credit whatsoever, ZERO, zilch.  Basically, they LIED just to get me off the phone, after wasting 10 minutes (9:55 to be exact) of my time. Building loyalty NOT. DSL has gotten MUCH better in my area, and so has SATELLITE, and I'm coming up on the 1-year mark with Comcast... So I'm feeling the BIG SWITCH coming on!  I'll get all the "new customer" deals, and perhaps fewer OUTRIGHT LIES. BOTTOM LINE: If you're not going waive/refund the late fee, just be grown-ups and SAY SO, don't "shine me on" just to get me to go away... 'cause I'm likely to go away for good, and take my subscriber $$ with me.

  • How to add late fee to total in fillable pdf

I am trying to create a fillable pdf form where a $100 late fee is applied if they submit the form after the deadline.  I have a spot for the person to check a box if they are submitting it after the deadline. How can I get it to calculate in to the total?

Set the export value of the check-box as 100 and then include it in the Sum
    function of your total field.

  • Date specific to calculate late fee

I am trying to make the form calculate and automatic late fee. I am sure I need to use the if then format, but I can't find what format to use to check the late fee date.
The formula needs to do this.
If todays date is <= April 1, 2006 then
    latefee=0
    else
    late fee is $30.00
I know that isn't all the correct formula, it is the date format I can not find. Can anyone help?
    Thanks

You're welcome! I'm glad your form works now.
If I recall correctly, FormCalc was a language designed to resemble writing calculations in Excel (which are usually writeable on a single line) and geared towards typical form calculations. I believe you would typically use FormCalc when writing short calculations whereas JavaScript would offer more flexibility in more complex scripts. That's my opinion, anyway.
Also, FormCalc scripts generally execute faster than JavaScript scripts so if speed is a requirement (for large, complex calculations involving multiple fields), you may want to try scripting the calculations in FormCalc rather than JavaScript.
I don't know if you've picked-up on this in your various studies but an example of the differences between FormCalc and JavaScript is the fact that in FormCalc, you just need the field's name in order to assign a value to it as opposed to JavaScript for which you must specify the property to which you're assigning the value:
    NumericField1 = 30
The preceding line assigns the number 30 to the field named NumericField1 in FormCalc.
    NumericField1.rawValue = 30;
The preceding line does the same thing but in JavaScript.
So I would say that FormCalc is simpler to use but sacrifices flexibility for its simplicity whereas JavaScript is more difficult as it sacrifices simplicity for its flexibility.

  • Adding Late Fee to BP

    Hi
I nned to be ableto add Late fee on past due invoices to the BP Balance. Right now in the dunning run it only shows on the report but does not add to BP balance.
Has anyone found a solutin for that
    Thanks

By design, SAP will include finance charges on dunning letters if you use them. It DOES not automatically add the amount to the business partner.
Most customers like this method, as normally the process is you invoice the finance charges and then end up crediting them anyway. With the current process you incude the amount on the dunning letter and if the customer pays then you add to the BP account using a journ al entry, invoice or other means.

  • Why did i get charged a $5 late fee when I just recieved my bill?

Why did i get charged a $5 late fee when I just recieved my bill?

Oh, that's strange! Your bill should be due approximately the same time each month. It seems like this charge is referring to a bill that we didn't receive payment for last month. Make sure to check all charges at vzw.com and review all the payments were made.

  • Restocking fee policy

I don't understand the restocking fee policy of $35.  I have been an AT&T customer for nearly 10 years and I have never returned a phone.  However, given the size of the IPhone 6 Plus, I returned it yesterday in exhange for an IPhone 6 and was charged a restocking fee of $35.  The phone was in excellent condition since I had used it for less than a week.  Perhaps more egregious was the fact that my screen protector was completely non-refundable.  I believe it cost $29.99.  Thanks

The restocking fee has been there for years. Once the phone is issued, it cannot be sold as new, that is one of the reasons for the restocking fee, to recoup to cost of not being able to be sold as new.
Most accessories are not returnable once the packaging has been opened.

  • $30 late fee?

Why was I charged a $30 late fee for the billing period of  May 19, 2013 - June 18, 2013?
It says it is supposed to be $5 or 1.5% of the bill, whichever is great. My bill is generally only $81.10... Why would it be $30 all of a sudden?

Is it listed as a "Late Fee"?  Could it be any other fee like an upgrade fee?

  • Why was I told there is a 7 day grace period??? and now i have a late fee

I was told that the bill is actually 'due' 7 days after the due date. (i.e. a 7 day grace period from date on bill) and now I have a late fee. This is ridiculous! I paid before the 7 days and now I have a late fee, frustrated.

What is the point of a "due date" if the bill isn't "due" until 7 days after the due date? Your "grace" period is the time from when you get your bill until the "due date". For me, that is normally 20 or so days. To me at least, a due date is pretty self explanatory. Just pay the late fee and learn from your mistake.

  • 6 days late on payment and late fee is $ 9.50

Hi,...my bill was due 7/11/2014...this is second time in 10 yrs and the first time wasComcast fault (they will not admit it)...and i made a payment today 7/16...$109.18   (usually it's1st of the month) and now my Total balance due on August 10, 2014 is...$118.69 that's included latefee...$9.50 for being 6 days late...is this right??

I looked up in the comcast information book you get when you first get their service and it states that the late fee is charged 9 days after the date due and only 1 late fee should be charged. I even asked this in a chat with on of the agents and was told the same thing you should not have been charged a late fee.

  • Re: Do not use coupon if you want to price match later! Policy is VERY MISLEADING

I'm glad to hear your issue got resolved...
I used a 10% coupon too, the day before it expired on 11/15 on a $2,499 TV.thinking that if price went down, I'm covered by the price match guarantee...
I bought the TV online because the store will not accept it.  3 store managers (I went to 3 different locations to verify that I really can't use the coupon in the store), assured me that if price went down, BB would price match.  All of them also said that it will only be price matched against the amount I paid, not the original price.  Hence, $2,499 less 10% = $2,159.  A week later, the price went down to $1,999.
I went to the store and asked for a price match...after waiting for about 30 minutes, customer service said they cannot do it because it was purchased online...I had to call the 800 number.  After another 1 hour or so on the phone, with a combination of "let me verify your purchase, let me put you on hold, I apologize for the hold etc.", I was given a case number and was told that at least $160 would be credited back to my account, and that it would take 24 hours for the credit to show up.
Lo and behold, it's has been a week now and no credit.  I called the 800 number again last night and was told that the claim was denied because I used a coupon.  It's BB policy...
Really?  I thought when it said "it does not cover coupon offers"  it meant that it does not cover the value of the coupon, so that one would not double dip.  I told her what the managers told me and she apologized for the "misinformation" but could not do anything about it.  It's BB policy.
So now, I will go back to the store and speak to the manager and bring up this issue.

    Hello remybelle-
I apologize for that lateness of this response; we are currently backlogged on posts and trying to get caught up as quickly as we can.  I can certainly appreciate wanting to get the best deal you can for this TV as it was an large investment and I’m sorry to hear that you were turned down for that price match.
I’ve checked in on this to make sure and the 10% off movers coupons are not able to be used along with a price match per our Price Match Guarantee here.  I absolutely apologize for any misinformation that our stores gave you regarding being able to obtain a price match.  I will be documenting this feedback as we want to make sure that our stores are providing the correct information around these coupons to our customers to prevent situations exactly like this.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

  • 1/2 of a GW success: BofA removed late fee - BUT...remove late flag on CR?

BofA agreed to remove two late fees that resulted from a 30-day late that gave my score a big ding. I asked them to remove the 30-day late notice, and removing the fee is what they responded with. Should I wait and see if the 30-day late flag is removed when they reverse the fee? I was pretty excited I got even that  much traction. I was just totally honest with them and said it was affecting my ability to get a mortgage, and I'd had a 7-year spotless history prior and it was an innocent and isolated oversight.

Thank you for posting your success story and a concise guide. Glad to see another happy user.

  • Verizon's Physical Damage Fee Policy; Scam??

I am trying to resolve a Verizon "Physical Damage" fee that has been ongoing and unresolved since 2/14/15.
I had two local Cellular Sales reps inspect my phone and found no physical damage.  The day before the screen faded and the apps blinked and glitched. They local reps even spoke with a Verizon Certified Specialist for 30 minutes on the phone and he determined that the phone had a defect or glitch. He then spoke with me and said the phone was under warranty and told me that I would receive a box and to closely follow those instructions and return the defective phone.   I did this following the provided instructions.  I would also like to add that I reviewed the section on the Verizon website that explains and lists what constitutes Physical Damage that would require a fee.  What was wrong with my phone is not on that list.  And the Verizon "Certified Specialist" and Cellular Sales employees agreed.
Here is how the problem begins:  one month later I get an email with a statement that I would be charged $299 damage fee. And to review the below photo showing the "physical damage".  Firs off there was no photo to view. The links were broken.  So, I sent 4-5 emails asking to see the photo with the "alleged damage".  No response. Then, I called the local store and they agreed it was ridiculous and put in a ticket for Cellular Sales Customer Service.  A manger named Ella would be calling me soon.........  After 14 days,  Ella had not called.
A few days of more waiting, I finally got on the phone with a Verizon wireless rep.  She told me that the phone had an external crack on the screen. I told her that was not possible and I wanted to see the photo. I was 100% sure that was not the case, since both Cellular Sales reps would have seen it and I also would have seen a crack.  She was able to send me a photo that showed some lines in the upper corner.  However, the original problem was a faded screen with blinking display, sometimes with double vision. App Icons would look blurry and double.  The phone actually worked other than this glitching abnormal  display. There were no cracks.  She finally quit calling it an external crack and agreed that maybe it was not an external crack as she first observed, but then stated it was likely from extreme cold since I did not drop it or hit it on something.  This is not the case. So after arguing with her for 5 minutes about what denotes "extreme cold temperatures",  and "physical damage"I asked to speak to her Manager.
Then her supervisor, Mr. Edmund, in South Carolina, agreed with her earlier observation that there was a crack and said it was an internal crack and could be from cold temperatures just as she had theorized.  I told him that if that was the case, folks from up north would be sending them back all the time.  He then agreed that has not been the case.  So then he theorized that maybe it had physical damage from the way I carried the phone, or moisture inside it froze and caused a crack........
All these different ridiculous scenarios were postulated and put forth, yet two indirect Verizon employees inspected it thoroughly and did not find physical damage, and the Verizon Specialist troubleshot it over the phone and determined the symptoms were a defect unrelated to physical damage.
Well you guessed it, after his circular reasoning got is no closer to a resolution I asked to speak to his supervisor. He would not let me.  He said: " you can't speak to my supervisor, but I will give you a $200 credit since you had Cellular Sales reps inspect it and tried to do the right thing."  I said: "no that I was not paying any fee since their story kept changing and there is no proof that I caused any physical damage." In fact, three Verizon employees also determined there was no physical damage.  He told me I would have to call Cellular Sales and see if they would pay for it or credit me the $299. I would not be allowed to speak to his manager.
So, I tried contacting Cellular Sales.  I finally spoke with Ella.  She said they would pay nothing and that Verizon handles all billing.  She suggested that it was likely damaged during shipment and to call Verizon.  Her name was Ella with the Knoxville, TN office and sh,e was extremely rude and could have cared less that Verizon was about to charge me over $600 in bogus fees.  I asked who was her supervisor and she said Amanda, but I could not speak with her. That instead Amanda would call me only if she determined it was worth her time to call. Therefore she could not guarantee I would receive a call from Amanda.  Guess what, Amanda has yet to call.
Since then I have talked to three more Verizon Employees (Rickey, Jennifer, and Supervisor Brandon).  And guess what ............I have gotten nowhere.  The first was Rickey who was very polite and told me he would put in a request for the $299 fee to be waived.  He told me that he would call me back by 4-9-15 regardless.  Well, he never called.
So, I call the Verizon Customer Service line  on 4/14/15 and speak with Jenn or Jennifer in the Washington office.  She checks and says the request put in from Ricky is pending and could take 10-14 days. I told her that Verizon is going to charge my account by the 15th for $600.  After putting me on hold for several minutes, she stated she would go ahead and credit me the $200 that Mr. Edmund offered 2 weeks ago. I told her that was fine and a start, but I would be disputing the remaining $99 as well.  Come to find out it is even more than $299 with taxes and other fees.  Verizon wants to add this to my normal bill of $300 for a grand total of $635.  Thanks for helping out your hard working customers.
Well, if the story could get any worse.  Then after putting me on hold for several more minutes, She then returns and tells me her supervisor (Brandon) will not approve the $200 waiver. He says it has physical damage. And he is willing to do $100 instead.  I said: "no thanks, let me speak to him."  I also asked her if I would be allowed to speak with Brandon's supervisor......or be dined like Mr. Edmund.  She said I would have to ask Brandon.
So, I told Brandon the entire story from the beginning. Brandon goes on to admit that the phone was likely damaged during shipment and it was my fault for not insuring it arrived safely and intact.   YEAH THAT IS RIGHT IT WAS MY FAULT.  I asked: "how is it my fault?", since I used the package that Verizon provided, which was the same one that the Verizon Specialist on 2/14/15 told me would arrive at my house and I must simply follow the instructions.  I followed all the instructions on the box.  And Brandon basically insulted me and said:  "you are a Human Being and should have used your own box or bubble wrap."  "That is what he would do".  I said no, I followed the Verizon instructions and did as I was told.  And he said: "no Verizon did not make me use that box   I should have been smarter and used a better box and insured it arrived undamaged."  He stated that it was up to me to ensure it arrived undamaged.
I also asked how can Verizon recant on the $200 waiver approved by Mr. Edmund and Jennifer.  And he said well that was his offer, and Jennifer misspoke and maybe if I call in again I would get a different offer maybe only $50 dollars.   He was going to put it on the record that I should not get anymore than $100 credited.  Unreal.
This is the biggest joke ever. I would like for some advice on how to handle this dispute.  I contend that the two local Cellular Sales reps inspected the phone thoroughly and found no damage.  A crack whether external or internal would have been obvious.  The found no oxidation, no physical damage in the form of scratches or cracks (I have had the phone for less than a year).  Furthermore, the Verizon "Technical" Specialist talked to them for 30 minutes asking them questions and troubleshooting.  He did not find Physical damage. Instead he determine it was a defect and told them and me to send it back since it was under warranty..........and to use SPECIFICALLY use their return Verizon Box.
What are my options? (1) continuing to talk with incompetent employees, (2) cancelling my contract and paying termination fees, (3)  taking them to small claims court. One thing is for sure, I will be first contacting the regional supervisors for Mr. Edmund's and Brandon's Regions. I wonder if I will encounter the same rudeness, arrogance, and overall ineptitude.
Is it commonplace for Verizon Customer Service Supervisors treat customers with disrespect and no allow them to speak with their managers?  With this kind of customer service, how do companies like Verizon and Cellular Sales stay in business?

Basically, and this is the truth as I see it:  Verizon's policies over-ride their agents.  Just like with contracts and people trying to get out of them:  The wording of the contract supersedes any claim made by a representative, no matter if they are in person, in store, on the phone, in an email or in a chat session.  Reps are sometimes quick to pass a customer along, especially in store and face-to-face, and this can lead to "haste makes waste."  An in-store rep may believe a customer sincerely, but it is the inspector on the receiving end who makes the decision as to type of damage.  Believe me:  I have had to send in a defective phone under regular manufacturer's warranty before, knowing it was software related, but fearing they might find a liquid-detector (white/red sticker inside the phone) tripped and I would be charged $299 or more just because some ambient humidity found its way into the device through the Otterbox case.  Imagine sending in 4-5 phones in a year.....I was fairly paranoid, and for good reason.

  • Does comcast charge late fees for being 1 or 2 weeks late on payment

My monthly iunternet bill is due today, but I am unable to pay it on time this month. I'm wondering if anyone knows if Comcast charges late fees if you're only 1 or 2 weeks late? I use to have Century link and they would always let me pay every two months and never charged a late fee. Just wondering if Comcast might be the same way with internet bills?

    Hello All,
Here at Comcast we do bill a month in advance. Some benefits of this is cycle billing is designed to ensure that after the first bill, the customer will always be billed for exactly 30 Days of regular service (not including Pay Per View, XFINITY On Demand, Toll Usage, or other additional fees). A customer’s first two bills may be less than a month apart but he/she will be billed monthly (approximately one month in advance) thereafter, until disconnection.  As far as late fees, depending on how overdue a payment is, late fees may be charged or service could be interrupted or disconnected. Payments are due on or before the date stated on the customer bill. If a bill is not paid on time, the customer will receive a late payment notice. Depending on the severity of the past due payment timing, the account will be subject to incurring late fees, interruption of service, and possible account disconnection. The late fee policy also varies by your region. I hope this helps bring some clarity.
    Thank You!
