Latest Windows SDK That is Comatible with VS2005

I've got a legacy application written in VS2003 on XP supporting a camera using Direct Show.
I'm am moving over to VS2005 on Win7 32 (there is a reason for this). When compiling I run into all sorts of error issue with various platform and Directshow header files. Most of these are dated <=2003. I'm hoping these errors will go away in by updating
to VS2005 (I must use this for another reason) and using a newer version of the Windows SDK and DirectX SDK
Questions:
What is the latest version of the Window SDK that will work in VS2005
What is the latest version of the Direct X (I'm just using the Direct Show subset) that will work in VS2005.
I'm just trying to eliminat all the compile header file issue I've run into.

Latest Bootcamp drivers (June 2010) comatible with Windows XP 54 Bit?

I am planning on updating my existing BootCamp partition to windows Xp 64 Bit edition on my MacBook Pro so it uses all my 4 gigs of RAM but I was wandering if the latest drivers would be compatible with it because in the description of the latest update in the Apple Downloads page it says that this 64 bit drivers update needs XP, Vista or 7, but in BootCamp assistant it says it needs Xp 32 Bit specifically.
I can't install windows 7 or Vista because I have very limited space in my HardDrive and I would have to make a very large partition.

Were you able to successfully use wireless and an NVidia driver? I missed that 64 bit XP was not supported. Anyway, I was able to work around a number of things; but I can't get XP to recognize the graphics hardware or install the Nvida drivers. I'd persist if I could get this to work. Were you able to?

What is the latest windows os that the T43 can handle/support?

I have many problems with windows 7 RTM on my T43 and requires upgrades and so on in order to work so what OS works?

The T43 can handle Windows 7 without any issues. In matter of fact, it runs Windows 7 a lot better than Vista (which never really ran all that good on any manufacturer's laptop as far as I could see). I'm using Windows 7 now on my T43 ... but ... I first upgraded to a full 2 Gig of memory from MemoryTen at www.memoryx.net. Otherwise, forget it.
I did a fresh installation of Windows 7 Ultimate (I purchased the OEM version from NewEgg), then installed ThinkVantage System Update 4 to get all the IBM/Lenovo specific drivers. I installed Access Connections, Client Security (to get my fingerprint reader back), and Rescue & Recovery separately from the Lenovo ThinkVantage Windows 7 downloads. So, I have a T43 Windows 7 Ultimate system without all the bloatware. :^)
Seriously, my T43 originally came with Windows XP Pro. XP was okay but even with 2 Gigs of memory, Vista ran horrible on it (I'd never suggest Vista on a T43). But since I installed Windows 7, my T43 shines better than before. And it's more stable than my wife's Dell. :^)

Workaround for using the latest nightly SDK 4.0 builds with Flash Builder Beta 2

The latest builds of SDK 4.0 have been updated in preparation for including playerglobal.swc for Flash Player 10.1. Flash Builder Beta 2 can not find playerglobal.swc due to the addition of the {targetPlayerMinorVersion} variable found in the flex-config.xml file.
When using recent nightly SDKs with Flash Builder Beta 2, please modify them as follows:
1) Rename the folder <nightly sdk location>/frameworks/libs/player/10.0 to "10"
2) Edit the file <nightly sdk location>/frameworks/flex-config.xml and remove ".{targetPlayerMinorVersion}" and save
When you restart Flash Builder, we will now find a correct location for playerglobal.swc, allowing for code hints and many other features to work properly.

Could i use visual studio to make a windows form that could interact with facebook?

I'm a beginner to windows forms and have just read my way through tutorials at learnc++.com so i want to get started on a project to practice my c++ and also a project that i could find usefull.
What I want to do is check a facebook group page every minute for new posts that contain certain words. So im thinking i could make a web browser and then get the document from the facebook group page and extract the html from it to search for certain keywords.
I realize that I won't be able to just do this straight away and will have to learn more about certain functions and how to get html from a webpage. Where can i learn the skills I would need to be able to do this? I'm going to try searching youtube for related
tutorials and I'm guessing that this site has all the documentation i will need to understand the functions to pull the html from a webpage.
please help me to figure out how I could achieve this, if i haven't been clear I will try to reply to any questions you have.

Have an old computer with windows xp that I replaced with a windows 7. Can't recover my Itunes account and library. Please help!

I have a full library in itunes. I can still purchase form the Ipod but since buying a new computer, I can't recover the library or account on the new computer. Old computer ran windows xp now running windows 7

Why can't you recover the account? The account is not tied to the computer... simply log in.
The media must be moved from one computer to another, simply signing into iTunes does not cause it to magically appear.

Windows SDK for Facial Expression Detection!

I am new to Windows SDK, and working on a project that requires to detect facial expressions (mainly sad, happy). I found about Windows SDK, but not sure whether this will suits to my requirements.

In the Kinect for Windows SDK 1.5 coupled with the Kinect for Windows Developer Toolkit 1.5.2, you can do basic face tracking (121 points are tracked). There is no facial expression detection included, but a good starting place for writing your own
would be to look at the Animation Unit Coefficients returned by face tracking. Once you have a face frame (see the FaceTrackingBasics-WPF sample for how to get face frames), you can find the AU Coefficients as follows:

Noob Needs Help with VS2005 to VS23013 Conversion

I have a website that was built with VS2005 and would like to convert it to VS2013. A friend of mine built this site but I have no experience with any sort of development. The site also uses a sql database. My goal is to just edit the pictures and text using
VS2013 and to not change any layout or dimensions.

I am having this same problem with my brand new Mac Pro. It seems to be tied to the computer awaking from sleep (no I am not leaving the iPod connected while sleep... I am referring to waking the computer from sleep and then connecting iPod as opposed to restarting the computer and then connecting the iPod). In other words, if you are getting this error message, try ejecting the iPod, restart your computer, then connect the iPod and see if the error message goes away. For me it does, but I only get one shot at it, if I eject the iPod and then reconnect it, the error message returns. This happens on both iPods I have. I have rebooted (hold menu-select) and gone to disc mode (hold select-play) and the error message remains. The only way it goes away is to reboot the computer, then I get one shot at hooking up an iPod.
I NEVER had nor get this error message when I connect to the Windows PC that I started with. Perhaps the iPod does not like moving from PC to Mac?

As far as the Firefox SafeMode, you can't open it when Firefox is running ''(unless you open a separate Profile purposely)'', if you try all you will get is another window in the "regular mode".
You're not going to be able to discover the cause of your problem if you're unwilling to follow established troubleshooting procedures, regardless of how intermittent the fault occurs. I wouldn't be surprised of you have an add-on installed which is causing that problem.

We were recently given an older Gateway laptop that we intend to use solely as an internet terminal. Alas, it is running Windows ME and I don't even know if it has all the specs to upgrade (and certainly not to Vista, which is the only thing we have an install disk for). It currently has Firefox 2.0.0.20, which of course contains numerous security vulnerabilities and is incompatible with most newer plugins. How to setup Flex SDK with latest AIR SDK?

Now the latest AIRSDK web page has a small link at the bottom for Flex users and it states that Flex users should take the SDK version without the compiler. BUT....
the http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-builder/kb/overlay-air-sdk-flash-builder.html page says to download the SDK from
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/asc2.html
but this page now redirects to:
http://helpx.adobe.com/air/kb/archived-air-sdk-version.html
which contains a large list of archived SDK's. So that help page never really says which version of the SDK to use - with or without the compiler. But other forum posts have implied its suppose to be the one with the compiler.
Now since we're overlaying the ...plugins\com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.349722\AIRSDK folder that would make sense.
But now there's a second overlay instructions page at:

with different instructions.
So my questions are:
   Which overlay instructions are we really suppose to use?
   Which version of the AIR SDK (with or with-out compiler) are we suppose to use?

        If I've followed the (first) overlay instructions above, does this checkbox now mean I'm using the overlaid AIR SDK 3.6
        with the current Flex SDK I've chosen?
        What if I'm using the Apache Flex 4.9.1 SDK? Will the AIR SDK 3.6 overlay that?
            (Doesn't Apache Flex have AIR 3.4 embedded - will this confuse Flash Builder 4.7 ?)
Is it just me, or is this just getting more and more confusing? Can we perhaps get a AIR SDK combo box to go beside the Flex combo box and when we check the 'Include Adobe AIR libraries' then we can select the AIR SDK we want? And get a 'configure AIR SDKs...' link too? Then perhaps we can get completely away from overlays and all this merged SDK nonsense. I've had nothing but problems with it.
The real reason I need all this info is because I'm trying to use Flash Builder 4.7 to build an Android ANE and I'm having a devil of a time just trying to find my resources. When I use context.getResourceID() I'm not getting the correct resources - and after reviewing other posts here I came to the conclusion that it might be due to bugs in older AIR SDK's. So really, at the moment I could care less about the latest Flex SDK, I just need to know I'm working from the latest AIR SDK.

Download the proper one for your OS and then extract it over your existing Flex SDK directory.

Problems with mobile projects with apache flex 4.8 and an overlay of the latest air sdk

Using flash builder 4.7 beta, apache flex 4.8 and an overlay of the latest air sdk, i got resolution problems while testing the mobile app (windows version on windows 7) with the air (ipad)emulator. That means the emulator is much bigger than my screen (logicaly seen the resolution of my screen and also like this in earlier version), but the app is much smaller than the emulator. As I have no design view with apache flex 4.8, I don't know where to start searching. Can anyone give me some input?

I don't see any error on creating new projects and running the same.
Where did you get the installer from?
What is the framework linkage type? You can check this in project properties -> flex build path. It should be Merged into code for Apache SDK.

Looking for a site that shows problems with windows patches or updates...so I know what not to install.
Plenty of sites list and summarize individual patches, I want one that consolidates problems and complaints so I can better assess the risk. Currently I'm waiting to install patches several days and doing google searches. That works, but I'd rather find a place
that does it with expertise.
Which forums would be best to look for such problems.

Windows update helps to keep your PC safer—and your software current—by fetching the latest security and feature updates from Microsoft via the Internet.
Although there might be some problems when installing it, Windows update is not the one to blame.

Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.
