  • Problem in Rolling to new a log file only when it exceeds max size (Log4net library)

    Hello,
    I am using log4net library to create log files.
    My requirement is roll to a new log file with name appended with timestamp only when file size exceeds max size (file name ex: log_2014_12_11_12:34:45 etc).
    My config is as follow
     <appender name="LogFileAppender"
                          type="log4net.Appender.RollingFileAppender" >
            <param name="File" value="logging\log.txt" />
            <param name="AppendToFile" value="true" />
            <rollingStyle value="Size" />
            <maxSizeRollBackups value="2" />
            <maximumFileSize value="2MB" />
            <staticLogFileName value="true" />
            <lockingModel type="log4net.Appender.FileAppender+MinimalLock" />
            <layout type="log4net.Layout.PatternLayout">
              <param name="ConversionPattern"
                   value="%-5p%d{yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm:ss} – %m%n" />
              <conversionPattern
                   value="%newline%newline%date %newline%logger
                           [%property{NDC}] %newline>> %message%newline" />
            </layout>
          </appender>
    Issue is date time is not appending to file name.
    But if i set "Rolling style" as "Date or composite", file name gets appended with timestamp, but new file gets created before reaching max file size.(Because file gets created  whenever date time changes, which i dont want) .
    Please help me in solving this issue?
    Thanks

  • Exchange 2013 with Outlook 2013 - Not getting pop-up or mail tips for attachments exceeding max size

    Our environment is Exchange Server 2013 CU3 and Outlook 2013 in cached mode. We have a transport rule that sets the max attachment size to 20 mb.
    If someone sends an attachment larger than 20 mb they receive an NDR letting them know the message wasn't delivered because it exceeded the max attachment size. We would like for the user to be prevented from sending the message at all or to at least
    get a mail tip before they try to send the message. The Outlook pop-up message that says "The file you're attaching is bigger than the server allows. Try putting the file in a shared location ..." isn't being generated for us. Not sure if that's
    because we're running Exchange or not. If that pop-up isn't going to work it would be nice if the user could at least get a mail-tip warning them that the attachment exceeds the limit. But it doesn't look likes there's a mail-tip for attachment size, only
    for message size. And, I've found that the message size mail-tip only works if the limit is set on the user. It doesn't seem to work if the limit is set via a transport rule.
    Has anyone else gotten Outlook to present the pop-up or a mail-tip when exceeding attachment size? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks but I performed all of those trouble shooting prior to posting to the forum. But, I have found the answer!
    After referring to this article;
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124345(v=exchg.150).aspx
    I removed the 10mb default limits from the organization config and chose to set the attachment and message size limits in our environment via transport
    rules instead. That is the only way you can actually set an attachment size limit.
    I had read this article several times searching for an answer;
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2813269#appliesto
    The key is here;
    "If you are using an Exchange Server account, the 20-MB attachment
    limit for Internet email accounts is not used by Outlook 2013. Instead, Outlook uses the limit that is configured on your Exchange server. To modify the setting that is used to control the size of a message that is sent through an
    Exchange Server account, follow these steps."
    The steps that follow are for Exchange 2010 but they show setting organization limits not server limits. And note that it
    says the size of a message, not the size of an attachment. Since mail-tips for message size are not displayed when the limit is set via the transport rules I thought it
    was possible that the same inconsistency might apply to the attachment pop-up warning. I set the organization limits and voila! The pop-up now displays when an attachment that exceeds the message size limit is added to a message.
    This is exactly what I wanted. Now users won't fill up their sent items trying to send large attachments that just bounce anyway.
    It would be wonderful if Microsoft would provide information about what features of Outlook are affected when you apply message size limits at the
    various levels.

  • Cannot send compressed PDF which is does NOT exceed MAX size?

    I am trying to send some PDF's to be opened in IBook which works great, but I keep exceeding the max size which does not reflect the true size of the PDF I am trying to send.
    When I try to send a PDF which is 22.1MD, I get a message from the Mail app that says in part:
    "Your message has size 30.3MB, which exceeds 28.3MB, the maximum allowed by server:"
    The unzipped PDF is 24.7 MB which could not be sent, so I zipped it (22.1 MB) and this will not go either. Perhaps the way to beat this is to break the PDF into two zipped segments but right-clicking on the file does not offer that option.  The only choice I see is the 'Compres ...' option.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Ok solved the issue. It was rights within the report.
    It has been fixed now.
    "You need to give the user and the report the schedule rights. One option would be to add another group and call it "Schedule for" then assign the scheduling rights to the group and add the needed users to the group.... Works like a charm."

  • Notification when mails are blocked due to exceeding max size

    Hi Folks,
    Can you tell me if it is possible to configure Ironport so that when an email is blocked due to exceeding the maximum allowed size, the intended recipeint of the email is notified?
    Thanks,
    Darragh

    Darragh,
    that's not possible in the normal mail flow policy, as at the point the message exceeds the maximum size configured, the IronPort closes the connection with a soft bounce error, and the sending mailserver will generate the error message send to the sender. The only workaround to that would be to configure a greater mailsize in the mail flow policies, and later use a message or content filter with a message size condition. There you can configure a notification to be send to the recipient, and a bounce. If considering this please be aware that this workaround will use up performance from your appliance, as the large messages will be accepted first by the IronPort and then processed by the workqueue before bounced.

    Andreas

  • File max size on Win32 OS

    Hello,
    What is your recommendation for file max size on Win32 OS like Win2K and above ? 2G,4G ? And what about Win64 systems ?

    Data files are not exactly unlimited in size, so the term "Unlimited" refers to the ceiling your datafile is able to reach, and it depends on the Oracle Block Size. To find the absolute maximum file size multiply block size by 4194303. This is the actual maximum size. You may want to read the Metalink Note:112011.1.
    A datafile cannot be oversized, otherwise it could get corrupted. Let's say if your database is 8k blocks that means that one file can not exceed approximately 34GB (34,359,730,176 bytes) without having database corruption.
    Sizing datafiles is a matter of manageability, it depends on your storage, the amount of space allocated in a single managed storage unit.
    On 10g Oracle has created the bigfile tablespace concept, which is a way to simplify management of tablespaces and allows you to create bigfile tablespaces.
    Those Bigfile tablespaces cannot contain but only one file, up to 4G blocks size.
    With the smallFile tablespace the maximum number of datafiles in the Database is limited to 64K files, 'pretty big to be small'.
    For the bigfile tablespace you may refer to these threads

  • Export/Import-SPSIte :- What is the max size limit that can be moved using this command??

    Export/Import-SPSIte :- What is the max size that can be moved using this command??

    I assume you ment Export-SPWeb not Export-SPSite command.
    There is no known limitations in file size, except the compression file size that is set to 24MB by default. If you exceed 24MB, the cmp file will be splitted into several files. You can change the default 24MB value up to 1024MB, using the -compressionsize
    parameter.

  • String max size

    Does anyone knows what is the maximum no of bytes a java string can contain???
    Regards

    Crud, that didn't work, here's the post by user JCSHELL from 06 SEP 2002:
    The java language spec does not apply any actual limits.
    The java virtual machine spec makes it unlikely (although perhaps not impossible) for a string to be greater than 2 gigs (2^32-1.)
    However there are limits.
    The Java API defines the length of a string in terms of an 'int'. That means the max size is Integer.MAX_VALUE, which is 2 gigs.
    The memory for a string comes from the heap. So a string can not exceed the size of the available heap. With no command line options, using current Sun jvms, that means that the limit will be less than 64 meg.
    The current Sun jvm on every OS except Solaris 8, limits the max heap space to less than 2 gigs. So a string can never reach the 2 gig limit. The sun versions before 1.4 had that limit on every OS.
    The Sun jvm also implements the String using a char array. Each character takes 2 bytes. This reduces the theoretical maximum to less than 1/2 of the max heap size.

  • Xp_smtp_sendmail file size is larger than allowed max sizer of 65536 bytes

    Hi,
    We have a daily routine which generates a text file and runs xp_smtp_sendmail with the @messagefile argument to use the text file in the body of the email.
    It has always worked fine but recently we have been receiving the following error when trying to run it:
      Error: @messagefile "Drive\Filename.txt" file size is larger then allowed max size of 65536 byte
    Funnily enough the file in question is 66,220 bytes so only just big enough to exceed this limit. The file in question is created from scratch on a daily basis so maybe this limit has always been in place
    and we are now exceeding it. My question is can we increase this limit somewhere and if so where? The SQL Statement I'm running is:
    EXEC master.dbo.xp_smtp_sendmail
    @To = '[email protected]',
    @From =  '[email protected]',
    @messagefile = 'Filepath\Filename.txt',
    @subject='Test please ignore',
    @server='smtp.servername.domain'
    Thanks in advance for any suggestions anyone has!

  • User Exceeded Max Sessions

    User trying to use DUN are getting the error msg of “User exceeded max session” going into ACS, I can’t find any info about and initial log for that day – never mind multiple ones. Max session is set to one in the group settings; I have 6 PRI AS5300, PIX 515 and a 3005 concentrator. ACS and radius were recently rebooted with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Is this ACS for Unix, if yes then please try setting the MaxSessions parameter to a higher value.
    MaxSessions parameter specifies the number of concurrent logins allowed, so if the user, or group is entitled to more sessions, change the user's or group's profile to allow more sessions.

  • What is the max size of HDD I can use in my dc7600 CMT

    I am using an HP dc7600 CMT which is working fine after upgrading to a Samsung 128GB SSD, Intel Pentium D 3.4 GHz, 4GB RAM, and an AMD Radeon HD 6450. I am running Win 8.1 Pro x64, with the most recent upgrade, and have absolutely no problems. I now want to add a second internal HDD, and wonder what is the max size  I can go to. Can I go to 2TB, or am I limited to a lower figure? 1TB? 500GB? 250GB?
    Will be glad for some help here, especially if it has been actually tried in practice.

    You're very welcome.
    Yes, they are very nice machines.
    What a jump in performance when I swapped out the Pentium 4 620 mine had, for the PD 945, and tossed in 4 GB of memory.
    That box will also run the Radeon HD 6570 with no problem too, which is what I put in mine.
    The downside of that model is that there are no settings for ahci or raid.
    I own or have owned every CMT since the d510 with the exception of the dc7900.
    My main PC is now the 8200 Elite CMT which I installed W8.1 on.
    It has an i7-2600 processor and 32 GB of memory, 1 TB SATA III hard drive.
    I threw in a Radeon HD 6670 in that one.
