Lenovo G50 NOT plugged in, but 'charging'.
I just bought a new Lenovo G50 about a month ago. The only strange problem I have picked up in the last 2 weeks, is that even when my notebook is NOT plugged into the charger, it still indicates that it is charging from an incompatible power source. Where my previous notebook, warned me on 10% battery left, my new Lenovo does not, because it is under the impression that it is 'Charging'.
The battery life is not really affected and when plugged in, it charges the battery normally.
Can anyone help me with a solution, before I take it back to my supplier. I know simple fixes like this can take up to WEEKS if I have to take it in.
Thank you in advanced.
hi dentonbronkhors,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Can you try these steps:
Open Device Manager and look Under Batteries, Right click and uninstall the item Named Microsoft SCPI compliant control method battery.
Shut the computer down instead of doing a restart like the computer ask.
Now Remove the Battery and Unplug the Ac adapter, Hold the poer button down for at least 10 sec.
Turn the computer back on and See if that resolves the issue.
Let us know your findings

When my phone is not plugged into the charger or computer, it will not turn on at all; even though it is not dead. When it's plugged into the computer, it will go to a white screen with a grey apple icon and then it will turn off again and repeat. IOS7 and iPhone 5.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Try this step and if you cannot get your device into recovery mode there is a chance you have a hardware failure and you need to call apple to see what service options you have. -
My lenovo g50 is not starting when I turn the power botton on then it showed logo and then checking media after it showed that boot failed ;( what should I do in this case please anybody help ;((

What is the error message (exactly as possible) that you are seeing when it turns on? What you are describing sounds like hard disk failure, but will not no for sure until more informatoin is posted.
Please list the following - as much detail as possible:
Machine Model (not serial)
Error codes, warning or other messages
Will machine boot into safe mode
Thanks in advance. -
My 2-year-old Airport Extreme instantly stopped working last night and is flashing the status light. The problem description is that the ethernet cable is not plugged in... however, the ethernet cable is still plugged into the cable modem. I checked the modem by plugging directly into my laptop... it works fine. Is this a common problem? Is there anything I can try other than sending it in for warranty repair?
At this point, before sending it back, I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
Disconnect the AirPort base station from the Internet broadband modem.
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Reconnect the AirPort base station to the Internet broadband modem. For the Extreme and Time Capsule, be sure to connect the cable to the base station's WAN (circle-of-dots) port.
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it adequate time to initialize.
Power-up the AirPort base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes. Note: The AirPort's status light may continue to flash amber after it has intialized. That is because, there may be some additional configuration items necessary, like setting up wireless security, before the overall setup is completed to get a green status.
Power-up your computer(s).
In this basic configuration, the AirPort base station will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a Network Name (SSID) of Apple Network NNNNNN. Network clients, connected to the base station either by wire or wireless, should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options. Please post back your results. -
One day the phone just got stuck on ios6 screen then once unlocked it said plug into iTunes. Once I did the phone will not allow me to complete a restore. At the last stages the phone will cut off. I have asked a friend to have a look and he thinks it is stuck in recovery mode loop? I don't know what else to do. The phone is not under warranty and I bought it second hand before Christmas. Please give me any help or advice.
Sounds like a hardware failure. Make an appointment at the genius bar of your local Apple Store. There is no magic that can fix a hardware failure.

That is until i disconnect the charger and suddenly everything gets incrediby clunky and slow?

I have hardly any programmes installed still have over 470Gb free on hard drive
i have run tests through the utility function with no faults reported but cant seem to solve the issue
Has anybody else experienced this? are there any quick fixes or will i have to make the journey to the apple store to get it looked at ??

alexHello there, LaruaGalliers.
The following Knowledge Base article provides some great troubleshooting steps for your issue:
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1476
Particularly:
Battery does not charge
Verify that the outlet being used is working.
Try another USB power adapter if available.
If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
Try another USB cable if available.
iPhone or iPod touch displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive
If you see the image below, charge the iPhone or iPod touch with USB power adapter for at least 15 minutes.
You should see this image when iPhone or iPod touch begins to charge:
If the screen still displays the low-battery icon, try turning the iPhone or iPod touch off and then on again.
If the issue persists, follow these troubleshooting steps.

Orange LED while plugged in, but charging?
Hi. When my shuffle is plugged into my computer, and iTunes isn't open, there is an orange LED lit up above the control buttons, which, according to http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300657 means it is charging. And when I do open iTunes, I can add/remove songs, edit settings, and do everything normally. But as soon as I eject/remove my shuffle, even after it has been 'charging' for a long time, it's as if it has no battery. No light comes on in the battery indicator, and no controls work. So does this mean my battery is totally shot, and I have to give Apple some more money because my shuffle broke?
ThanksNo, lol, it doesn't play! It absolutely doesn't turn on, play, or do anything once disconnected from the computer.
When it's connected, I assume power from the USB port goes straight to the components, so it's active, and it lets me add songs, change settings, do all that stuff fine. And all that works. But even after leaving the shuffle connected for hours, both on my laptop and a friend's laptop (during a different trial run), and then taking it out...it's as if it has absolutely no charge. It's like it thinks it is charging when in the computer, but no charge is actually being stored. -

Z87I HDMI Audio "Not plugged in" Windows 8.1.
So i got this mainboard for a HTPC build, and all seems to work fine except no HDMI audio.
It tells that it is not plugged in, but enables the Optical out, although nothing is connected there, and besides, I need HDMI.
I found a lot of others with similar issues, but not with this board, and not with integrated graphics.
Any ideas, I'm going nuts on this, I have another build with an Asus card and here it works perfectly.I would suggest you try installing the latest drivers for your motherboard from MSI's website. Some new chipset and VGA drivers were added for your motherboard a few days ago supporting Windows 8.1: http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z87I.html.

You may want to try below different methods and check which one work for you.
Method A:
Remove the AC and Battery from the laptop
Press and hold the power button for 30 to 40 seconds
Replace the battery and AC
Boot the laptop up and check if the same message is still displaying
If same error still persist, try to uninstall Lenovo Energy Management, reboot then install the Energy Management software again.
Method B:
1.Open Lenovo Energy Management
2.Click on the bottom gear icon between i and ?.
3.Under Battery Health, Click on Start for Battery Gauge Reset. (refer to Fig. 1 below)
4.That should refresh the gauge and let the system finish through the cycle.
Method C:
1.Open Lenovo Energy Management
2.Click on the bottom gear icon between i and ?.
3.Under Battery Health, choose "Optimize For Battery Runtime" instead of "Optimize for Battery Lifespan".
Note: The latter option will extend the lifespan of battery by limiting the charging capacity to be between 0-80%.

New Yoga, "Plugged in and charging," but not actually charging
Hi all,
I have a brand new i7 Yoga 13 running windows 8 from Best Buy. As soon as it booted up, I have not been able to charge my battery. As I hover over the icon, it says "Plugged in and Charging" but it does not include a percentage. I have had it plugged in overnight, and if I unplug the computer, it will die immediately. I have tried updating my BIOS, energy managment and setting it to "Maximum battery life," but nothing changes. Thoughts?
ThanksYeah I have this same problem with my Yoga along with just about every other issue that has been mentioned in this forum so far. Dislike Lenovo. Save us the frustration and don't be in a rush to release your products. Where's the quality control?

Hi,
I bought a hp pavilion g4 2036TU and Serial No is {Removed for privacy} and Product No is B6U80PA#ACJ from Cyborg world, Laminton Road, Mumbai, 400009 and invoice No is 302431 and that is hpauthorized showroom. From next couple of days i got a problem: "charger plugged in not charging". due to some busy work i not able to register complaint at that day but i register my complaint on 25-08-2012. They i...
ssue a complaint no is HP Case ID #: 4681263011 but now current Case ID number is 4682402097 after i track lots effort they sent engineer Pradeep(9022181367) on site at 8-09-2012, and he didn't got any solution, and told me that he will order a battery as there are some problem in battery, but on next working day he called me and told that he sent a mail which contain a link to update BIOS and your problem surely resolved by that. But after using that link i updated BIOS but still problem and when i call to hpcustomer care they told me that your case is transferred to hp service centers, Vashi Navi Mubai. In between that I busy in my office work for some day and not get time to call again and again. And i got socked when I receive a mail from "{Personal Information Removed}" that your case is closed because your mobile is not reachable. But i all-ready contact to many time on
customer care and also registered my response at Support Case
Manager one day before their closing mail. After that on 15-09-2012 i again waist my full day on hp customer care to resolve my isuue ,
but mostly they tell me your call connected in non-techinacal department, and you will get callback within 2 hour, but i don't get call back always.
After done lots of call to many person, swati, rajani, pradeep, and to many customer agent they told that a engineer again visit to detect the problem, but i don't understand why they sent engineer again and again to only detect problem. And today another Engineer Mahesh Rahate(9702788581) visit and told that problem in motherboard and need to replace, These guy doing R & D on my system, they don't know what is problem. I attached receipt which given by their engineer. Their are not link between hp service center and hp customer care. Customer care agent told your case is referred to hp service center and they contact you, but don't tell any updated status.
I have one major question why i ready to repair my mother board in newly system, I only want brand new System or refund my money. I have lost my hard earn money (approx 40000/-) in this process. So I only want either refund of money or newly brand system only, no any replacement.
I have lost my whole month in that process and i also affected my work which affected by because of this system. It cost me more then 40000/- financially. So my one and last option to either refund my money or give brand new product, I don't want defected system replace again and again and my work suffer in future.
And about my experience of Hp product, its wrost, in both term product wise and also in term of after sales services. How they pass testing of product and brought in market a defected product. And not provided proper service. So as per my experience I never suggest to purchase any hp product as per my worst experience of hp service after sales.
Thanks!

Battery problems. Plugged in, says charging, but is not actually charging
I have an HP TouchSmart tm2 (have had it for a few years now). Everything works fine (for the most part) except the battery. I have it plugged in but it says "0% available (plugged in, charging)" but it's not actually charging. It's been this way for a few days. I have taken out the battery and then put it back in, but nothing changes.
I know I am no longer under warranty, and since it works fine while it is plugged in, I am not about to spend a ton of money to have this problem fixed. It started (minorly) when I got the laptop back from HP (completely unrelated issue, while still under warranty) a little over a year ago. It wasn't big issue so I didn't worry about. It's just annoying now. I am just wondering if the battery needs replaced (and if so, how much is that going to run) or if it is a bigger issue that I will just have to live with because I'm not going to put a lot of money into this computer. I was hoping to be able to use this one at work and my old Dell at home (the Dell doesn't hold charge anymore and the battery costs more than the laptop is worth), since this one was still holding charge at the beginning of the week. Now it won't even charge. I have left it plugged in and off over night and there was no change in the battery percentage... frustrating, kind of makes me want to avoid HP from now on...Hi

I just got a new ipod 5 and when I plugged in the charging cord that came with it, it says it is not supported, and may not charge. It worked the first few times, but now it won't charge at all.

- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. The cable as well as the iPod, is covered by the warranty.
