Link Asset class to an Asset Reconciliation GL Account

Hi Everyone,
i want to specify a new Asset Class to a Particular Asset Reconciliation Account, which i have created in FS00 and also mentioned as a Reconciliation account in OAMK. can anyone help me where  can i go and do this ?I am using ECC 6
Thanks & Regards,
Guru

Account determination key is maintained in asset class. Using AO90 transaction code you need to maintain GL Accounts for Acquisition as well as other accouonts against account determination.

  • How to change asset class of an asset and problem in AS08.

    Hi All,
The user has given wrong asset class and created asset masters. For the same assets, he has done capitalisation and executed settlement in KO88.
Now when we try to reverse the document in AB08,by default it goes to KO88 screen and if we reverse select reverse optiion in test mode, system is picking up some other entries.
Is it possible to revrse asset documents once settlement is done.If not how should we change the asset class of those assets.
I need your help on this.

    Hi,
from my knowledge it should be possible to reverse the entries.
If it is only a problem of wrong categorization of assets, you can create a new asset in the asset class you need, and then transfer the asset completely to the new asset (tcode ABUMN).

  • Differentiating the asset class for group assets

    Hi,
I want to create group assets in AS21. For creating group assets I want to create a seperate asset class. I could not find any option of differentiating the asset class for group assets in transaction OAOA (i.e., Define Asset Class)
How we can identify that an asset class can be used only for group assets and not for individual assets.

    <<Plagiarised from http://help.sap.com/saphelp_45b/helpdata/en/4f/71dfff448011d189f00000e81ddfac/content.htm>>
    HI
A group asset is represented in the system by a separate master record. The structure of this master record corresponds to the structure of the normal asset master record. You can determine the structure of this master record using screen layout control, just as you do for normal master records. Just the same as a normal asset, a group asset can have any number of sub-numbers. In this way it is possible, for example, to collect all the acquisitions for one year in a single sub-number master record at the level of the group asset.
There is a separate master data transaction for creating group assets (Asset ® Create ® Group asset). This transaction corresponds to the transaction for creating normal assets. However, there are certain special considerations to keep in mind for master data maintenance of group assets:
Group assets can only be deleted when all the assets belonging to them have been marked for deletion.
Group assets can only manage depreciation areas that have been specially marked. You mark them using an indicator in the company code specific specifications for the depreciation area (FI-AA Customizing: Specify depreciation areas for group assets).
Group assets have to be assigned to an asset class, just as normal assets do. You use an indicator in the asset class to specify that the class can be used only for group assets.
Assignment of an Asset to a Group Asset
You can assign an asset to a group asset by specific depreciation areas. For this purpose, there is a special field in the asset master record (in the detail display of each depreciation area). You enter the number of the group asset in this field. Once this entry is made, the system calculates and posts the depreciation for this depreciation area only at the level of the group asset. In this way, you can also assign one asset to different group assets in different depreciation areas.

  • Asset class Reports and the G/L accounts balances are not tallying

    Hi
As per the G/L account (Recon) Furniture is showing 952428.18 and the furniture asset class report is showing 916186.25.
Kindly tell me how to reconcile, the way to find out the differences.
    With regars
    Siva

    Hi
As per the suggestions given i verified
    1. Asset transactions might have posted after posting depreciation for the period
I verified this. there are no postings
    2. Depreciation terms (depreciation key, useful life ) might have changed.
The depreciation terms are not changed
3, Manual transactions might have posted directly to GL Accounts.
    No manual transactions are there.
    Correct the differences by
    1. Repeat the depreciation posting program (AFAB)
    2. Execute Recalculate (AFAR) and Repeat the depreciation posting program.
I executed AFAR it is updating the G/L accounts only not the FI-AA
    3. Check the Manual entries posted in GL Account of Furniture asset class and reverse
    manual entries are not posted.
I executed ABST. There are no errors.
i verified the SAP Note. it is basically explaining about AUC(We don't have) reconciliation and this is the first year (3months completed after go-live)
any other possible reconciliation is appreciable

  • Link-Group Asset Class, Depreciation Area & Depreciation Key

    Dear Experts,
I am new to FI-AA Customization & have a basic query about Group Asset Concept.
I am working on Ecc 6.0 & for Country India.
I want to create Group Asset for calculation of Depreciation as per Income Tax Act.  Hence there is just one Depreciation Area (for Group Assets) , but the Depreciation keys are different.  E.d IN1, IN2 etc. (Country Version India)
    Now the questions are :
    1) Do we need to create different Asset Class for different Group Assets or to create just 1 Asset Class for all Group Assets.
E.g. I want to calculate Depreciation As per income Tax Act on Gross Block of Building, Furniture & Fixture, Motor Car, Vehicles etc. So I need to create separate Group Asset Class for each one of above or just to create one Group Asset Class.
    2) If we need to create just one Asset Class for all Group Assets; how to maintain a Depreciation Key in OAYZ as there are more than 1 Depreciation Keys?
    3) is there any other method / functionality to calculate Depreciation as per income Tax Act or Group Asset is the only functionality?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Reshma

    Dear,
    Reshma.
Looking at your Questions let us take explanation for Group Assets :-
1 ) We need to create new different asset class for Group Class in OAOA. Then permit the depreciation area for only Group Asset in OAYM as it is in your current scenario India  is Depreciation Area 15 Just select your company code in OAYM and check the Grp Asset field for respective area 15. Then go to OAAX here we have to maintain the assets classes particularly for Group Assets. So check your Group Asset classes for Group Assets. Cerate different Group asset classes for your said requirement.
In these depreciation areas, it is then possible to make an assignment to a group asset.  You make this assignment in the specifications for the depreciation area in the asset master record.  When you post an acquisition to this kind of asset, the system duplicates the line items from this depreciation area on the given group asset.
2 ) According to me you have to create different depreciation keys for Group Asset classes. Assign the Depreciation keys to your newly created Group Asset Classes in OAYZ and make sure you are deactivating 01 area which is Book Depreciation area.
3 ) As far as I know this is the only functionality available to handle Group Assets. How ever SAP does not have any standard Group Assets functionality. SAP does not supply asset classes to be used solely for group assets. It is we have to determine as per varying Business Process.
I hope this will clear your doubt makes you to understand. Please revert back for further clarification. Welcome you.

  • Calculation of depreciation and interest for a particular asset class

    Hi,
I have a problem with the calculation of depreciation and interest for a particular asset class. The assets are financial leases. The depreciation key defined is LEAS. The following are the attributes of this key:
Dep/int             phase     base met dec-bal prd cont mult lvl chn ov
    Ord.depreciation     1     0011     001     006     001        5
    Ord.depreciation     2     0002     001     003     003
    Interest             1     0028     001     003     010
An example of an asset is:
Aquisition value: 1041552.71 (as migrated on 01.04.2007)
    Ordinary dep already posted: 56243.88
    Net book value: 985308.83
    Scrap Value:729086.90
    Useful life: 50 years
Expired useful life: 9 years 1 month
Remaining useful life: 40 years 11 months.
    Depreciation start date: 28.03.1998
    Interest calculation start date:30.03.1997
    Depreciation calculated by the system:6261.83
    Interest calculated in the year:15682.68
I'm not able to undersatnd on what basis the system calculated the interest. I will be thankful if anyone can help me resolve this. An early reply will be greatly appreciated as I'm facing major problems due to this issue.

    Hi Mahesh,
As per my analysis of the case the interest rates are as under
    Acq. Year                                                    Int.Percent
    9999     4          01     10.%
    9999     7          01     5.%
    9999     25          01     2.5%
    9999     999     12     01     2.5%
As per this the Acquisition value less the Scrap Value Rs.312,465.00 @ 2.5% p.a will be Rs. 7811.64.
Based on the above you analyse for which period interest is calculated.
    Hope it will help.

    Vijay

  • Error *Chart of dep-dependent assignment to asset class 100306 not possible

    Dear All
I got error Chart of dep - dependent assignment to asset class 100306 not possible
    Diagnosis
You tried to assign chart-of-depreciation-dependent data to asset class
        100306.
    System Response
        The assignment is not allowed.
    Procedure
In order to be able to assign chart-of-depreciation-dependent data to
asset class 100306, the following conditions have to be met. You have to
        have already
        1.  Defined at least two active charts of depreciation
        2.  Assigned asset class 100306 to more than one chart of depreciation
However, at the moment this asset class is only assigned to chart of
        depreciation 1.
I already checked following this but I didn't found the mistake (already assign COD to company code).
Please anyone help me to solved this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Utarat.P

    Hi Utarat,
whenever you create an asset the system checks first the table ANKP.  If you have chart-of-depreciation-dependend account determination, than  an entry in the table ANKP is made. If you than make a copy from such  a asset class in the asset class there is another account  determination than in the table ANKP and the system takes the account determination from the table ANKP and not from the asset class.
Normally you can't define chart-of-depreciation-dependent assignments  (with transaction ANK1) if there is only one chart of depreciation. As a result you'll get error AC012. So, I think there was a  second chart which was deleted.
If you'd like to change (or delete) this assignments you can use
    the following workaround:
        SM34 -> View ANKA_ALL -> Maintain
           - select asset class ART (for example)
           - then click in the left column on "Chart of dep - dep data"

    Dear All,
    I have a requirement.
I want to transfer some assets from one asset class to other asset class, but I do not want to change the asset no.
    Can you help me
    b.s.rao

    Hi,
    This is not possible.
    Pankaj,
Your solution will not work, as you cannot maintain the same number series for both sending and receiving asset classes, even though if one is having internal number assignment and another is external number assignment.
Ex: You cannot have 2 number range objects which includes a one asset number. In AS08 system will never accept this overlapping of asset number series.
Correct me if i am wrong...

  • Set Minimum amount for non LVA  Asset Class

    Dear all,
Is it possible to set a minimum amount for asset classes other LVA asset class?
    Thanks & regards.

    Dear Jay,
I didn't see a configuration setting to set the minimum amount for asset class even for LVA asset class - in LVA asset class we will specify the maximum amount only not the minimum amount.
I think through SAP standard setting this is not possible and may require some enhancements for this.

  • Asset Class change.

    Hi experts,
My client want to change asset class of existing asset? Please explain me the procedure?
i.e : my client is having asset class '1000' and all assets are created by using this asset class.  Now they want to create new asset class say '2000' and change some existing assets from '1000' asset calss to '2000' asset class.  Please suggest me now can it be possible?
    Regards,
    Sam.

    Hi Samiuk,
It is unfortunate that SAP does not allow changing asset class directly in asset master and only by asset transfer (ABUMN) for this purpose. Although new fixed asset number will be assigned following the asset transfer to new asset class, the original asset number will also be transferred automatically and can be found under 'Origin' tab in the respective asset master.
Report 'S_ALR_87012058 - List of Origins of Asset Debits' can be used to display the relationship between the new fixed asset number and the original asset number.
    Hope the above helps.
    Cheers,
    John Chin

    Hi
I created Asset Class, and Screen layout with that asset class. But when I creat asset in T.code AS01, I click field "Asset Class", but that asset class doesn't appear. It notice following:
"Asset class 213200 cannot be used in company code HDQC
    Message no. AA130
    Diagnosis
When you create an asset, the system determines the chart of depreciation from the company code definition. In order for a chart of depreciation to be available for an asset class during asset maintenance, the chart of depreciation has to be entered for that asset class (Determine class valuation). Chart of depreciation HDQC that was determined is not entered for asset class 213200.
    System Response
You cannot create any assets in your company code for this class.
    Procedure
You can do one of the following:
Use another asset class, for which chart of depreciation HDQC is defined.
Maintain the asset class valuations for asset class 213200 in chart of depreciation HDQC. Chart of depreciation HDQC has to be specified in order for you to be able to maintain the valuation parameters of asset class 213200 for chart of depreciation HDQC"
Please explain me as detailed as possible
