Link to child level detail report via variable ? / navigate to ?

I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience; I am trying to based on selection link to customer details
Example: Fact & Dimensions; Fact (I aggregated to Customers gained); Dimension1 (Date / Period); Dimension2 (Customer Dimension)
Problem that I have aggregation level has customers and the features they have (features being lowest level); the Dimension is stored at lowest level(customer). I would like to; (based on aggregation) select value based on Time/Gained and then display applicable customers. I was trying to see if there was a way to identify via variable user selection and possible use as filter for detail/child report II. I was hesitant to go to feature level in Dimension only because of size and possible/potential relating slowness.
Has anyone used such variable, based on selection before ? Or Has anyone noticed issue with using large Dimension 25K + w/indexes ? Also if I was to use larger dimension, is it possible to roll data up, instead of drilling down, because if going to feature level would need to show applicable customers ?
Thank you in advance for your help

Thanks David,
I don't want to enhance the IMG structure. I just want to insert a link to the IMG node in my documentation.
Example:
Transaction SE61 -> Document class = General text -> Name = ZZ_TEST -> Create
Within the editor choose Insert -> Link -> Document class = Implementation Guide chapter (SIMG) -> Chapter = SIMG_CFMENUOLMEOMF4 -> Name in document = PO screen layout
Back in the editor choose Document -> Screen output
When the output appears click the link -> SAP will navigate to the RFQ subtree in customizing, but I need that SAP navigates to the PO subtree.
Any ideas?
Kind regards
Rudi

  • Master-detail reports with variable number of pages in a big report

    I am designing with Reports 6.0.5.32.0 a master-detail report such as a
combination between a customer with his name, address etc, at the top of
the page (always 60% of the first page) and then as details lines with his orders.
For one customer seems relatively OK with the variable number of pages in accordance with the number of his orders.
When the main query finds more customers I present always the customer at the top of
a new page (that's easy), but how can I control the number of the next pages for the orders, variable for every customer.
I can not predict how many pages are necessary for a customer and white pages are
not desirable. When the number of Max. Vertical Body Pages is too low I can get the next pages for every customer, but appears an
    uncontrollable shift to the left.
For instance, a customer with 40 orders needs 3 pages, one with 4 orders only 1 page, one with 15 orders 2 pages, etc.
What's the magic property for a secure and precise layout?

    Hi Andreas,
did you try setting vertical spacing to expand or variable on master repeating frame (and posible other frames surrounding master repeating frame)?
    Hope this helps

  • User Analysis at Permission Level - Detail Report (RAR SP12)

    Hello All,
I have having question regarding the User Level Analysis at Permission level report. Currently, we are on GRC Access control 5.3 SP12.
Per my understanding when you execute the User level analysis at Action level, you get SOD conflict reports based on T-code level and not on authorization / permission level. But, if you execute the user level analysis at permission level then SOD report is based on the authorization / permission object level.
But now, when I execute the user level analysis at PERMISSION LEVEL in the Informer tab, in the report I am only able to see "Transaction Code Check at Transaction Start" name in the Permission Object Column and "Transaction Code" name in the Field column.
Look forward to hear from you all.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Angelica

    Hi Angelica,
This behaviour is ok for those risks in which you have not enabled any Object/Field value. It will pick S_TCODE Object and show you the risk.
    This is useful because -
    1. If you have risks defiend at Tcode level - you can still catch them while running risk analysis at permission level.
    2. If you have Object Values defined in risk and you are running permission level analysis it will show risk only if Object Values meet. In that case permission level risk anlysis will not show risk if there is no actual risk.
    3. Running risk analysis at Action level can show false positives when risk is defined ta Object level. So, it is always better to r
un alanysis at permission level, it will bring all actual risks skipping false positives.
    4. You can run only one level risk analysis in CUP and ERM and permission level covers all risks.
If you have risk defined at Object Level and the role/user is not fulfilling all values, it should not show in permission level. In your case, if it is showing only "Transaction code check at start"  and the risk is defined at Object Level, then sure it is a bug.

  • Shipment Batch level details report

    Hi All,
Our client has come up with a new report requirement. They want the below columns in their report.
Sales Order , Sales Order Item, Delivery, Delivery Item, Batch , Shipment , Individual delivery quantity
Please suggest what will be the best approach to build the report. Should we go for a generic datasource or should we enhance any existing LIS Datasource?
    Regards and Thanks,
    Vivek Das Gupta

    Hi,
There are standard datasources for Sales Orders/Shipments:
    2LIS_11_VAITM (Sales Orders Items)
    2LIS_12_VCITM (Delivery Items)
These datasources are used in the most BI solutions.

    Tiago.

  • Dynamically select detail report for a master report link item or button?

I'm still new to APEX, so apologies if this sounds like a stupid question, but so far I can't find anything online about how to do the following.
I have a simple report, and I want to be able to drill down from here to a detail report via a link item (or a button) in each row. The problem is that the specific detail report to use depends on a combination of values in the parent record.
So if I have a parent record in the master report with values for columns 1/2/3 of A/B/C, I would drill down to a detail report against table X. If my parent record has values of D/E/F, I might drill down to a different detail report against table Y.
I can build the individual reports easily enough, and I can set up a link item in the master report to drill down to a hard-coded detail report page. I can even generate the name (alias) of the relevant target report as an extra non-DB item in each row of the parent report. But I can't figure out how to allow each row in the parent report to actually link to a different detail report dynamically, depending on the contents of the parent row.
Can anybody suggest an easy way to do this, or point me towards an online resource that would explain how to do this (preferably in basic terms that this APEX-newbie can understand)?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi,
When you say "Detail report" do you just mean a normal report of the child records for the selected master record or a tabular form style "Details report"?
Using different reports on a page would, typically, depend on the value in a hidden page item - for example, P1_REPORT_TYPE. Your link could pass an appropriate value into this item and the second page would then use this as a Condition for each of the report regions - each region being conditionally displayed when the hidden item is a specific value.

  • 2nd Level Detail

I created a fully functional Master-Detail report by using the HTMLDB Master-Detail Wizard and converting the Detail Form to a Report Format.
Is it possible to drill down to a second level of detail from the first level of detail?
With no success, I tried manually creating a second level detail report with link from first level detail, but GUI prevents creation of certain objects, like Prev and Next Buttons with No Region (GUI demands selection of region) for pagination.
Any guidance or links to known examples would be appreciated.
    Thanks

There is no wizard to help you out here, so with some experimentation, it is possible to go to a second level of detail. I got best results when the PK of first level detail table was the same name as the FK in the second level of detail table.
Created the report manually, and it is lacking PREV/NEXT controls in the row counter report footer. Still have not yet figured out how to invoke the NEXT/PREV with row counter in the report. Curently the NEXT/PREV are buttons in the region but not with the report counter object.

  • Duplicate records for Sale Order Cycle Report(excluding item level detail)

I have posted this issue in number of forums but till today no one is able to answer it correctly. Here it is:
I need to create a report which I think most of the sd consultants have also done it.It basically covers sales order cycle without item lvel detail such as:
Sale Order No -- Sales Order Date-- Delivery No-- Delivery Date
Now as we all know ,sales orders and deliveries are connected through item table which means in the output I will get duplicate rows for the report above. For Example, if a sales order share 3 items with the delivery then we will get 3 exact duplicate rows in the report.
What can be the best solution?connecting through VBFA has alos same result as it also has item level details.
I need a good solution. This a common report and there must be some solution

    Hiiii,
It is standard SAP rule that system will catch the document flow (document link history) at item level.
Now your problem that you dont want to show the line item based report because of duplicacy.
    Try this.
    Brows table VBFA -
In screen selection select the following......
    1. Subsiquent document category
    2. Preceding item
select "J" in Subsiquent document category
and "000010" in Preceding item  then execute the table.
Now system will not show multple line item based delivery report. so No duplicacy will be there

  • Hierarchal Columns and Passing Values to a Detail Report (Action Links)

I have a question in OBIEE 11.1.1.5 around Hierarchal Columns and passing the values to a detail report. I have create a report with a Hierarchal column (Two Levels only), Month Column and a metric.
I created a detail report and see both columns used in the hierarchy to "is Prompted" as well as the Month column.
On the Summary report I put an Action Link on the Metric to navigate to this Detail Report. When I select the metric I see that the Month value gets passed to the Detail Report but none of the Hierarchal columns have been passed at all.
When I replace the hierarchal column with just the two columns, the values get passed fine.
Is this a known issue with Hierarchal columns? Is this functionality even available?
    Thanks

I am assuming then that no one has attempted this on the forum?

  • Linking reports passing prompt values to detail report ?

    Hi,
I am building a linked report in webintelligence on SAP universe which has prompts coming from BI variables. In the master report i have created a hyperlink column so that if user can select the hyperlink for each row.now if i select the hyperlink it should take me to the detail report by passing the prompt values.i want to pass the values to the prompts build in BI varaible.
    eg: master report
    Country  Product  Rev  City
now here i want to select city and open the detail report by passing city values. i need the formula for the hyperlink  city. City is just a prompt in master report it is not object in my report.

  • View a Detailed report from a link in a General Report?

    Greetings all,
I have no idea why I am confused on what I am trying to do. I have a Report that Generates a tabluar view off all tickets the actual ticket has 25 fields to be filled in, but of course on the tabular view, I only have four of the relevant fields that the user can see.
    Example:
    TICKETID TICKETDESCRIPTION TICKETSTATUS TICKETOWNER
    0001 | Stuff Broke | Awaiting Customer | Bob
    0002 | Part Missing | Open | Fred
0003 | Need Help with Stuff | Open | Sandy
What I am trying to do is create the TICKETID as a link that will open another report with all the details about the Ticket. Currently I have the report and it has a link to go and edit the fields on the form based on P12_TICKETID = #TICKETID# in the link field. But I can't find a way to link it to another report. Am I missing something? I want the user to see all the details about the ticket, but I don't want them to be able to edit the report. I guess I am not clear on how to create a selectable report based on one ticket verses a report that lists them all.
Currently the tabular report is on my Page 11 and I don't see how to reference the report fields by any P11_xxxx naming as I have tried and it tells me it can't see them.
The P12_TICKETID is the Form that analysts use to update the ticket, so I don't want the customers to access that unless there is a way to access it as a view only.
I hope that made sense and if so, could someone tell me what I am missing in my thinking. I would think this would be a standard process for APEX but I am lost on it.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Wally

If I understand right, you want a new report, that contains all 25 columns, but just for the selected record. There are several ways to accomplish this, including creating a form that would be read-only. To create this as a report, you need to create a new page, you can create a report on that page but use a value attribute pairs report template (this will show the label on the left and the value on the right for each column and each column going down the page, rather than across). Create a hidden item on your page to store the selected ticket_id and then link to that new page, passing #TICKETID# to the hidden item. Lastly, modify the query on your new page to include 'where ticketid = :P?_TICKETID'.
Again, you could create a classic report that just includes all 25 columns or a form and then make each item display only or the scenario I described above. Good luck.

  • How to pass Presentation Variable Value from Main Report to Detail Report

    Hello,
I've 2 reports that is attached to each other. In my main report i've several report prompts and i am using i"s prompted" on my detail report to attach them.
    But 2 of my report prompts are presentation variables(Names : FIRST, SECOND). Both are in date format. I've a filter in my main report like;
    "ASSIGNMENTS_F"."EFFECTIVE_START_DATE" BETWEEN @{FIRST} AND {SECOND}
It works fine when i run the main report. But when i click on the numbers, i see that i can not filter my detail report with the chosen values for 2 presentation variables. It just shows all the dates.
I've tried adding both presentation variables in both reports as columns and adding 'is prompted' filter to them. But did not work either.
I just cant pass the written values for presentation variable prompts to detail report..
    Please help :)

    Hi,
What you can try is refer the filte condition in the main report to the detailed report with the option--> Filter based on another request.
Or you try creating another intermediate report which will refer the main report filters and pass the filters to the detailed report.
    Hope this helps.

  • Second level detail in master-detail via VL does not return rows

Sorry, I did not want to repost the entire thread. Please see the last entry in the following thread for my urgent question.
second level detail in master-detail-detail does not return rows
"second level detail in master-detail-detail does not return rows"
    Thanks so much!
    Teri

    Ahhh ... that explains everything!
    You wrote:
    ListView1
    -> ListRowView2 (via ListRowFkLink1)
    -> ListValueView2 (via ListValueFkLink2)
That's why I thought it's a master and two details.
    But it's more like:
    ListView1
        -> ListRowView2 (via ListRowFkLink1)
              -> ListValueView2 (via ListValueFkLink2)Is that correct?
    That's the explanation.
A ViewLink is basically a RowSetIterator controlling a detail RowSet. When the iterator navigates, the detail RS is refreshed.
When you create a hierarchy in the wizard, the controlling master iterator is always the default iterator! But you used a new iterator (listRowIter) to iterate over your first detail. The default iterator of that first detail didn't move, hence the RowSet of your second detail was not refreshed.
When you navigate in the tester, the tester always uses the default iterator. That's why it worked there.

  • Interactive report row-level ("OR") filter via URL?

I know you can perform a column level filter on an Interactive Report via URL, but can you do a row level filter?
I want to do something like where column 1 = 'test' OR column 2 = 'test', not column 1= 'test AND column 2 = 'test'.
Thank you and apologies if I am missing something in the documentation or other forum messages.

    Jeff,
Thanks again for the response and for looking into it. However, if I am not mistaken, the url in that excerpt does the same thing as the URL I posted except that you used IREQ_COLNAME instead of IR_COLNAME (which defaults to EQ I believe).
I want to see if a value is in column a OR column b, etc. The "OR" is the all important caveat.
I would settle for being able to pass a value to the IR's main search box (that searches all columns of all rows) if I cannot do a targeted row level filter on a few select columns.
If anyone knows how to do either of those things, that would be great information to have.
    Thanks,

  • Link to detail Report doesn't work.

Hi, we are using Webi for On Demand reports (against Salesforce universe) and the hyperlinks to details reports are not working.
my URL in master report looks like this:
    ="<a href=https://na.crystalreports.com/opendoc/openDocument.do?iDocID=48877773&sType=wid&sWindow=New&lsMFocusBook="[Focus Book]"&lsMSegment="[Segment]"&lsMAccount="[Account Name]">"[Segment]"</a>"
and UR in detail report appears as:
    https://na.crystalreports.com/opendoc/documentXML.jsp?cmdP1=untitled488777731wid*&token=&cmd=askPromptView&cmdBlock=all&cmdP2=lsMSegment%3D%255BSegment%255D%26sWindow%3DNew%26useCustomPrompts%3DY
Some how details report doesn't recognise the propmpt values and always asks to fill prompts.
    can some one advise?
    Thanks

    Hello,
The openDocument.do url was really only designed for use with Crystal Reports documents.
It is not officially supported for webi documents, or any of the other document types.
That being said, it sounds like opening webi docs with openDocument.do does work, it is just the parameter passing that is problematic.
    Cheers
    Steve
