Live Office update issue

I applied Service Pack 2 and the Fixpack to Client Live Office, however when I try to refresh objects from Enterprise got an error: Version mismatch: Your Live Office client needs a newer version of BusinessObjects web service.
anyone can help me with this issue, please.
Thanks

Hi Maynor!
Your BO XI Server has not the correct Patch Level.
Either you did not upgrade your Server or you too had a corrupt installation. Redownload the SP and FP for the server.
Repair or reinstall did not solve this error. I had to reinstall everything.
ciao Hakan
PS: Same can happen to your Client install - try removing and reinstall.
PPS: You could also redeploy the web services.

    Hello,
We are trying to install BOBJ Edge  3.1 on windows server 2003 R2 sp2 and office 2003 sp3.
Live Office installation is getting cancelled with the following message.
"Produkt: BusinessObjects Live Office XI 3.1 -- Update for Office 2003 (KB907417) was not detected on this  machine. Please install the update and re-run setup."
We installed the mentioned update on MS Office but the message did not disappear.
Does anyone have any insight on this issue?
One problem we are guessing is that of MS Office language. We have MS Office 2003 installaed in Swedish. Does any of you think that can be the reason.
    thanks in advance.

The solution for fixing 2003 with out upgrading to 2007 is to install this update

  • Dashboards with Webi Live office Objects issues

    Hi All,
I have created a dashboard (Dashboards 4.1 SP4) connecting to webi crosstab tables which in turn sources data from Bex queries (version of SAP BW 7.1 SP5) . Initially I published the crosstab data as BI web Services and consumed these as query as web service within the Dashboards. But datasets have variable columns and changes on data refresh everyday. Therefore, I decided to use Live office connections to automate the dashboard.
As number of posts suggested, firstly, I created Live office connections for the webi queries to pull the data into excel model spreadsheet. I have created 26 live office connections in total and everything works fine until this step. Re-opening the excel document refreshes the live office connections. When I import the same excel spreadsheet into the dashboard, the import operation is running forever and then Dashboards stops responding. I would have to close the Dashboard using task manager.
To test, I tried creating the live office objects within the dashboard spreadsheet and it creates the connections fine. I do not create the live office connections through Data -->Connections--> Live office connections. I go ahead and publish the dashboard onto the portal and it gets published successfully. If I re-open the dashboard, the connections I created would have disappeared.
Also, when I create the live office connections on the dashboards Data -->Connections tab and try to publish the dashboard, it publishes forever. The generating swf window was running until I came the next morning which means that it does not publish to the BO portal. I am not sure what else I could try to get this working.
I have created OLAP connections to the Bex cubes and created webi reports using these connections. I am not sure if OLAP connections would be a problem. To test it, I created relational Universe using UDT tool and created a webi report on top of it to test and tried importing the excel with live office connection to dashboards, but it gets stuck forever.
Could anyone advise me on any of the missing steps or something else to try to get this working?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Rohini.

    Hi Preetesh,
The excel takes less than a minute to refresh all the datasets when refreshed from outside dashboards. I also do not think this is a performance issue.
Today I tried importing the excel with live office connections on a different desktop with Dashboards 4.1 SP5 and it got imported instantly. The machine I was trying had Dashboards 4.0 SP6 base version and was updated with 4.1 SP4. I suspected the install might be corrupted and re-installed Dashboards 4.1 SP4 after uninstalling all the versions. The excel got imported instantly and I could see all the Live office connections and got refreshed on document open as well. I saved it to the BO platform without setting up Live Office connections through Data Manager and it got published successfully.
I closed the Dashboard and re-opened it later and setup the Live Office connections and tried publishing on the BO Portal, its running forever with Generating Swf window. Not sure what is going wrong. In the task manager, I do see two excel processes running which I think is one of dashboard and one of Live office.
    Thanks,
    Rohini.

@unikum: Yes I have , and I can confirm that everything (apart from polyglossia) compiles flawlessly. It would appear with XeTeX the polyglossia package works but the BibLaTeX doesn't. With PDFTeX, BibLaTeX does work, but I see that polyglossia only works with XeTeX (my compiler also suggests LuaTeX but I'm not going to try it).
I'm quite happy with how BibTeX works though I'm going guess that you use BibLaTeX for your own reasons.
LaTeX itself works, I've been working on my MSc Dissertation, lectures notes and other bits, conveniently written in LaTeX, with a working BibTex bibliography. Have I had any problems after uninstalling TeXLive 2012 and then installing TeXLive 2013? NO.
As for your second question, no. I will not repeat how I did the upgrade for a third time, so please read my previous posts.
Edited after re-reading entire thread (things getting mixed up in my head ¬¬).

  • Live office based dashboard - issue in Exporting to PPT

    Hello All,
We're currently developing dashboards on sap bw queries.
The architecture is SAP BW Query->WEBI 4.0 -> LIve OFfice->Dashboard
Everything is working as expected and we're able to execute dashboards on Infoview.
But, there seems to be some issue when we try to export the dashboard to power point.
We get a strange message  "Error #2060".
When we export to pdf , it works as expected.
We have implemented all steps required to make the file/folder Trusted :
<To make a file trusted in Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager
If you want to run a model locally, you must add the file location to the trusted locations in the Adobe
    Flash Player Settings Manager.
    1. To open the Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager, go to http://www.macromedia.com/support/doc
    umentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html.
    2. On the Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager page, in the "Table of Contents", click Global Security
    Panel Settings.
    3. Select the Always Allow option.
    4. In the Always trust files in these locations list, select Edit locations > Add location.
    5. Browse to the location of the SWF file (or container file such as PowerPoint, HTML, and so on) and
    click Open.
    6. Click Confirm.>
Aslo , we have updated the crossdomain.xml file in the root folder ,the new crossdomain.xml file is as below:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM
    "http://www.macromedia.com/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd ">
    <cross-domain-policy>
    <allow-http-request-headers-from domain="" headers="" secure="false" />
    <allow-access-from domain="*" secure="false" />
    </cross-domain-policy>
We are successfully able to execute dashboards when exported to PDF files,
but when we try the same with word or powerpoint it throws error #2060.
Any pointers with respect to this is highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vinay

    Hello all,
We were able to resolve the issue by adding the Office folder ( in program files)
in the trusted files/folder path of adobe global security panel settings.
    Thanks and regards,

  • Data not updated in the excel while using Live office

    Hi all,
I have a Trial balance Crystal report in BOE and have created a Live Office document connecting that report. Now I've imported that document to the Xcelsius environment.
In Xcelsius a Filter component having the YTD values as the Labels and its destination is bound to the cell having input to the Crystal report of the Live Office document. Now in the Preview mode when I change the select the year its corresponding data should be displayed in the Chart but unfortunately that's not that case. But when I change the year in Non Preview mode
    the data is getting updated.
    What could the error ?
    Thanks
    John

    Thanks Senthil, its working!!
But its taking lot of time for the data to get updated in the chart upon changing the year. Is there any way to speed up the process ?
    Thanks

  • Flash Variables live office pass dates issue

    Hi Experts,
We are on Dashboard 4.1 SP3 and BI 4.1 SP3.
This is continue of thread http://scn.sap.com/thread/3572623.
The dashboard have a very strange behaviour.
I have one Dashboard with 2 calendars: start date and end date
the other one: will accept these two dates, and according showing graphs.
The issue I have now is:
The two dates can be passed to the second dashboard, e.g. start date: 01/01/2014, end date: 20/04/2014. I have two text lables. they are showed the passed date. but the graphs or live office just accepts two months data. e.g. start 01/01/2014 - 28/02/2014.  No matter what Date ranges I gave, the second dashboard just accept the start Date till start date+2months. e.g. give dates range 01/03/2014 - 30/05/2014, second dashboard show 01/03/2014 - 30/04/2014.
if i changed liveOffice dates range parameters to 4 month, then the dashboard also can expands to 4 month.
I'm not sure why it is happening like that.
    Child Dashboard LiveOffice parameters
    Child Dashboard FlashVariable
    Child LO connection
    Parent Dates Passing config
    Could anyone please help.
    Thanks,

    Hi Abhilasha,
Thanks very much for quick reply, I tried to increase mapping range, but it's till not working.
Is there any known bug regarding this issue. as when I increased LO input parameters range from 2 months to 4 months, then the dashboard also will increased, and display till 4 months data.
    Many Thanks,

  • Live Office 3.1 Format Issue

We're currently using Live Office 3.1 SP2 FP2.7 ( BO Enterprise is on the same FP level).  We noticed the following format issue when running a query in Word 2007, PowerPoint 2007, Outlook 2007.  The format issue does not occur in Excel 2007.
When importing the results of a universe query which includes a measure, the numeric measure is imported into a Word document, PowerPoint presentation or Outlook email as a comma formatted decimal (i.e. 1,077.00).  This does not happen in Excel 2007 where the numeric measure is correctly imported as 1077 (the same result as in Webi).  In Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, the number needs to formatted manually in order to be correct.
I have not yet found a Live Office option to store the measure in its original correct format rather than as a decimal.  Is there a way to fix this?
    Thanks.

    Hello George,
I recommend to post this query to the [BusinessObjects Enterprise Administration|BI Platform; forum.
This forum is dedicated to topics related to administration and configuration of BusinessObjects Enterprise, BusinessObjects Edge, and Crystal Reports Server.
It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
Also, all BOE Administration queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.
    Best regards,
    Falk

  • Does Xcelsius support Cross Tab report via Live Office?

    -Operating System: Windows XP
-OS Patch level: Service Pack 3
    -Office Version: 2007
    -Flash Player version: 10
-Xcelsius Version and Patch Level: Enterprise 2008 with SP2 (version: 5.2.0.0)
-Xcelsius Build number (Help>About Xcelsius): 12,2,0,608
-Business Objects Enterprise version/patch level (if applicable): Edge 3.1
    -Issue Description:
I have a dashboard which collects data via Live Office from a series of Webi documents and Crystal Reports.  I have found that if I create a report that has for instance sales regions down the left and months across the top using a cross tab in either Crystal Reports or as a Webi the data will only refresh within the current month, so for instance if I create the report in October the sales figure for October will update happily until the last day of the month but on the first of November no sales figures will show in the new month and I have to manually refresh the report in Xcelsius and issue a new Dashboard to my users.  This makes me wonder whether Cross Tab reports are actually supported via Live Office.  If I use formulas in Crystal Reports and manually build a report that looks like this but uses formulas it works fine, but is obviously a much slower process than simply building a Webi cross tab.
Your views and help would be very much appreciated!!
    Thanks
    Rob
    -Steps to Duplicate:
    As Above

    Hi Rob,
You can bind cross tab reports from your WebI reports into Xcelsius using an integration tool called[ Xcelsius Web Intelligence Intregration Suite|http://www.antivia.com/products-xcelsius.stm].
This will give you the full functionality of Web Intelligence inside an Xcelsius dashboard- drill-down, cross tabs, even an ad hoc query panel, all bound into the Xcelsius interface.
This would remove the need to use QaaWs or Live Office, so you can probably realize some performance gains and handle larger data volumes.
    Cheers,
    Andrew

  • Live Office Failing to Connect

Hi, we have just upgraded Business Objects XI to R3 (Product: 12.1.0) version and all our reports were moved over.  We are using Excel version 2007 and Live office version 12.3.0.601 Build 601.
We cannot get the Enterprise (authenticication)  logon to work. all the details (UN, password, server) are all correct, but we either get logon issues or access issues.
LO 02040 - logon error even though the details are correct
LO 02010 - insufficient rights to open the report (this happens regardless of the report and they are the user's reports)
We use BO/Live office 90% of the day and cannot have it not working, are there any suggestions?
We cannot create new objects or update existing ones as the operation times out.  We cannot update the properties of existing reports either.
This all worked perfectly before upgrading BO and Live Office.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Emma
    BO/LO User (not admin)

    Hi Professor,
    1) If you just plug your switched on phone into usb on PC does it say "mass storage device" connected and can you then explore content?
No it does not say that. It does seem that the necessary drivers are installed, because the PC indicates "ready for use". However I cannot find the phone in Windows Explorer.
    2) Nokia 6680 is a Symbian 60 there must be a way of selecting either PC Suite, Mass storage or Transfer on phone menu!
Maybe you're right, but I cannot find these options in the phone menu.
So far, still no solution. Thanks for your input.

  • QaaWS vs Live Office as datasource for Xcelsius

    Hi,
We can create dashboard with BW or Oracle data using Live Office or QaaWS.
Best practice document called for QaaWS.
    Does anyone know why?
I know we can do both, but just don't know what's the reason for using QaaWS.
    Thank you

    Hi Patrick,
The real difference you have understand between the QaaWS and Live Office is the method of refreshing data.
Both the data sources use Web services as their source.
Do you know why the differciation is ?
QaaWS fetches the data when request is raised from Xcelsius then dumps the data to Excel.
Where as Lo scenario is different, first we request the data from Xcelsius it passes that to Excel then it refreshes the data from Excel level then we get updated data.
I think you might have noticed many times that when you refresh the live office manually if new rows are added (ar Database) then it creates the new rows in Excel.
Another point you create your live office objects at Excel level and then you import it to Data manager.
Many people get issues with Live office due to below reasons.
    1) Changing the Webi report path after importing the LO objects. Such reports throw error when they are refreshed.
    2) Sometimes user refreshes the LO objects at Excel level and they directly run the dashboard. This situation also throws error, bcoz the updates made at Excel level are not given to the connection available at Datamanger level (Xcelsius).
We have reimport all the connections again.
    3) Never refresh any LO objects manually from Excel when propmts are binded to cells, if they do they loose the prompt bindings.
many more are there but the above are the most important.
Live office has more options than QaaWS. But for simple dashboards the QaaWS is widely.

  • Live Office Errors

Anyone else having any similar errors? or have any resolutions?
    BOE Version:  BOE XI 3.0
Live Office Version: XI 3.0 FP2
    Xcelsius Version:  2008 SP1
    Description of Dashboards
    ·          Dashboard pulls about 22 tables that have been built within a WEBI report into Excel via a Live Office connection
    ·          I updated web services URL for each connection and set each to u2018Update on Loadu2019
    ·          I then exported the dashboard both to a local SWF and to InfoView
    So on to the issues:
    ·          Issue #1:  Iu2019ve noticed when I load the dashboard for the first time in the day that I get error LO26000, but then it doesnu2019t show up for subsequent loads during the day
    ·          Issue #2:  About 20-40% of the time, I will get errors LO26315 (one error popup is generated for each table that does not get loaded), however, I always get varying numbers of this error in one load (i.e., different numbers of tables are not getting loaded) but usually it is around 3-4 errors u2013 in addition, it is always different tables within the dashboard that donu2019t get loaded
So in other words, when loading the dashboard, about 20-40% of the time I will get these LO26315 messages, but it canu2019t be caused by specific tables that are causing errors (since different numbers of tables donu2019t get loaded AND it is different tables each time)
Re: Issue #1 u2013 I have already troubleshot the servers not being running with support and I showed them that the servers were all running, but I was still getting this error
Re: Issue#2 u2013 I originally thought this could be caused because the WEBI Processing Servers that Live Office was using to download the tables were at capacity and therefore were faulting because they did not have enough memory to allocate to the requests, so I tried assigning the WEBI source report to a WEBI Processing Server Group that we have that gets very little traffic.  This seems to have reduced the number of times that I get the error messages, but hence, I am still getting them.
BTW u2013 The dashboards that Iu2019ve created that consume less tables (5-6) seem to give me errors much less frequently, if at all.  So I am convinced, perhaps incorrectly, that these errors have something to do with the number of tables that Iu2019m trying to pull.

    Hi Ulrich -
Thanks so much for the reply - and very prompt too.  I really appreciate you taking the time to read through the long post.
I couldn't agree with you more regarding consolidation of the reports.  Unfortunately, I think you would understand that this comes at the cost of a much more complex Excel model.  As my client is currently comfortable building WEBI and working within its environment, it's great for long term maintenance of the dashboard if they can build the reports in WEBI and levergae it's inherent functionality rather than building complex Excel logic (of which can cause other issues for Xcelsius).  For example, if you have to build INDEX functions on top of INDEX functions on top of INDEX functions.  Would be great if there was a way to leverage the 'INDIRECT' function in Excel, but unfortunately it isn't supported yet, so you have to build INDEX on top of INDEX (which works, but I've heard isn't officially supported either).
So, anyways, to your point, I'm definitely with you in terms of consolidating tables, but I'm hesitant if it means building extremely complex Excel logic....
In terms of the 'Refresh on Load' - I can test the other option that you mention, but my gut would tell me that I'd get the same errors, since I'm getting Live Office errors (since the Live Office routines would be the same in both cases) and not Xcelsius errors with the Initialization freezing, etc.
I have had the same experiences with you regarding LO26315, but unfortunately neither of these causes are the answer to my problem.
    Suggestion #1:
We have 11 WEBI processing servers, and yes, while some of them may be stuck in the state of 'Starting', etc. that is definitely not the case for all of them (they are usually in 'Starting' mode because the server failed because of a capacity issue that cause it to fail).
Anyways, I've heard from Business Objects engineers that the dashboard Live Office connections will use the same servers that the WEBI source report is scheduled to.  So, I scheduled the WEBI source report to 4 of the 11 servers that get utilized very little (hence they never fail).  This should essentially eliminate this as being a cause.
Furthermore, with BO support on a webinar, I have checked to make sure all servers were running, then loaded the dashboard, and then still gotten the LO26315 errors.
    Suggestion #2:
There are no changes to the report that have been made.  As I mentioned, the LO26315 errors only show up about 20% of the time that the dashboard is loaded, in this time there have been no updates made to the WEBI report.  Here is a typical scenario.
1st Dashboard Load:  Get error LO26000
    Close Dashboard
    2nd Dashboard Load:  No errors
    Close Dashboard
    3rd Dashboard Load:  Get Error LO26315 x 3 (meaning that 3 tables of the 22 didn't load - let's say table 1, 2, and 3)
    Close Dashboard
    4th Dashboard Load:  No errors
    Close Dashboard
5th Dashboard Load:  Get Error LO26315 x 2 (meaning that 2 tables of the 22 didn't load - except this time it could be tables 4 and 6)
    Close Dashboard
Basically, it is always a different set of tables that don't load (give errors) and it doesn't happen everytime the dashboard is loaded.
Because of this, I'm strongly thinking this is an issue with the Live Office product and how the data is retrieved, but hoping it isn't....
After all - if Live Office works for pulling 3-4 tables (simple dashboard), then it should also be built to handle complex Enterprise dashboards as well (15-20 tables)....

  • Live office Modification

    Hai all
I taken the live office data from crystal reports ,developing a dashboard
    A      A1     200
    A      A2     300
    B      B1      500
    B      B2      400
Assume that this is the live office data of Crystal Reports.
Now I designed in such a way that i added A1A2 =500 and B1B2=900 from other cells and Developed Dashboard .
Next day user updated the date for
      A  A3  600
      B   B3  900
Now the live office refresh for the Perticular cells
    A      A1     200
    A      A2     300
    B      B1      500
    B      B2      400
    A      A3     600
    B      B3      900
but my added data from other cells I e. 500  ,900 it will not  update to dashboard .
In such type of Scenarios what we need to do?

    Hi,
Is the option in Live Office >> Application Option : "Update formulas to include/exclude cells when refreshing" checked?
If not, check that option and then test the issue.

  • Live Office SP3.4/Office 2010 - Live Office objects disappear on conversion

I am testing Live Office XI 3.1 FP3.4 on a Windows 7 laptop with Office 2010 installed and have a question.
I take an Excel 2003 file (XLS) file that has Live Office connections and open it in Office 2010. Then I save as an XLSX file. While saving I get a message that states:
"The name, [1]_1_CRADDIN_DataGrid, either conflicts with a valid range reference of is invalid for Excel. The name has been replaced with 11__1_CRADDIN_DataGrid. You may still need to manually update any references to this name used in VBA code or as text arguements in functions. You must close and reopen the workbook before these changes take effect."
I complete the save then close and reopen the file. When I go check for my Live Office objects, they seem to have disappeared (meaning I right click on what used to be a Live Office object, but I no longer see Live Office on the popup menu).
Can't I convert my old data models to the new excel format? I am doing this because the XLF is taking a LONG time to open in Xcelsius 2008 SP4 with multiple server busy messages. I thought updating the Excel file might speed things up but since the Live Office objects are disappearing from my spreadsheet this is not working as expected.
If any pointers can be given that would be great. If I have missed any documenation that may help me out, please let me know. I checked the Live Office documentation and the highest thing for XI 3.1 I see is SP3, no FP3.4 (or even SP4).

How do I know if Office is 64 bit? If I go to the control panel, I see that "Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010" is installed.
There are no named ranges in my sheet.

  • Format of numeric field cannot retain via Live Office

In Webi, I changed the format of an numeric field to 2 decimal places.  When I retrieved this field to Excel via Live Office, I found the format of 2 decimal places cannot be retained.  It ended up displayed in 1 decimal places.
I found when a webi report exported to Excel, the format can be retained.
Does anyone know if this is a product design or product issue? Thanks.
    Regards,
    Gloria

    Hi Gloria,
I had a look at this in XI release 3.0 and received the same issue. The only way I could get this to work was to use the FormatNumber() method. This returns the value as a string, which live office represents with the trailing 0.
So if the cell value was 12345.6, then FormatNumber([my cell]; "#,##0.00") will display 12345.60. This will display correctly in Excel (except that it is justified as text) when brought in by live office.
This more of a work around than a fix, so you may want to raise a case.
    Regards
    Alan
