LMS 4.x Interface Availability

I have an issue where I want to remove an interface from a device on the network, but I can't get LMS to not show it as down on the monitoring dashboard under Interface Availability. I've removed the IP from the interface and put it in admin shutdown, but it continues to show up as down in the Interface Availability chart. I also tried setting it to false under DFM for monitoring, but that didn't work. What is the correct way to remove an interface that shows down under Interface Availability that isn't actually down due to an error? It has been days since I shut down the interface.
Thank you,
Mark

Marvin,
Thanks for the reply. So you are saying that setting the interface to false in DFM removes it from the Interface Availability report on the Monitor Dashboard for you? That would make since to me, but it is still there. I did remove and re-add a device the last time I saw this issue, but thought there has to be a better way. When setting to false under DFM didn't work, I thought maybe that was just for alert generation and not the Interface Availability dashboard widget. I hate having to reboot servers. It seems this one has to be rebooted too often to fix minor issues like this.
Thank you,
Mark

  • CiscoWorks LMS 4.0.1 - Interface Availability graph

    Hello all,
I would have a question about CW LMS Monitoring Interface Availability Graph. When we change a Network Topology (for example I plug out a switch from a daisy chain and plug it in the distribution switch), the Interface Availability shows the original switch port as unavailable. After a big change, we have several interface notification on the diagram with red, but the devices are available - of course, we just changed the port where it is plugged in.
In what menu can I rediscover a devices, and why shows the CW the unused, old interfaces as 'down'?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ferenc KURIS

    Hello,
sorry, no. I tried to set the unused interfaces to unmanaged state, in some cases it solved the problem. But this is not a really solution. I hope somebody has any other idea that helps us.

  • Generate Prime Interface Availability and Utilization Report for unified APs

    Hi,
I´m trying to generate interface availability and interface utilization report for unified APs on Prime Infrastructure 2.0, but it doesn´t display any information. I have created device health and interface health templates under desing/Monitor configuration/My templates and deployed under Deploy/Monitoring deployment, but it still don´t show any information,
    thaks for your help.

    Hi Alejandro,
Did you solve this problem? Or is it a bug?
I face the some issue with you, I just run "Report/Report Launch Pad/Deivce/Interface Utilization"
and then I create a report for interface utilization.
But it display nothing when the report run finished.
I ask some guys in this forum, they said maybe it's a PI2.1 bug.

  • Interfaces available in ECC6.0

Where can I get the consolidated informations regarding the Interfaces avaliable in ECC6.0 for BW, EP (Enterprise Portal) and Lotus Notes. These are supposed to be Plug-ins (Addons) till SAP 4.7E.

I want to know what are the standard objects or interfaces available in ECC 6.0 that are used for communicating between the applications (BW, Enterprise Portal  and Lotus Notes).
    Not much different to before

  • Change Interface availability threshold from Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0

    Dear Community,
I’m working in Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 and I’m having the following problem:
I want to monitor the interfaces availability from all the devices of my network. But only makes sense send an email notification  for the most critical interfaces. I don´t want to receive an email notification every time anyone unplugs the network wire.
    How can I achieve this?
I already tried to change the interface availability threshold from the Interface Health Threshold Template, but this one isn´t available to configure.
The idea was to change the severity of the alarm so I could distinguish what type of alarm would send email notification.
I also created a Custom SNMP Template that gets the ifOperStatus using the MIB IF-MIB. This also didn’t work because Prime Infrastructure doesn’t allow me to define thresholds to a Custom SNMP Template.
Without threshold, no alarm, without no alarm, no email notification!
    Can you help?
    Regards,
    Daniel CJ

Only on the HA pair which would be the secondary.
High Availability (HA) RTU: If Cisco Prime Infrastructure is deployed in a high availability configuration with one primary and one secondary instance in an HA pair, then an HA RTU is required. You only need to purchase a single set of the regular licenses (for example, Base, Lifecycle, and so on) for the primary instance.
    Thanks,

  • SAP Learning solution and SABA LMS Centra Integration/Interface

    Hi Everyone,
I am busy with a SAP Learning Solution implementation and I have a requirement to integrate with Centra which is SABA LMS virtual classroom software. Does anyone know where I can get documentation on how to do this, how long it takes and what skills are needed to do it?
    Thanks.

    Hi there,
I am not aware of any customer who has integrated SABA Centra with SAP Learning Solution. However there are several implementations of SAP Learning Solution integrated with Adobe Connect. Studying the documentation of this integration and talking to the consultants who have done such implementation might give you an idea of the skills required and the time taken. A good amount of documentation is available from the [book on SAP Enterprise Learning|http://www.sap-press.com/products/SAP-Enterprise-Learning.html] You may want to talk to the product owner Srinivasa Raghavachar to get his thoughts and additional documentation.
If possible ask your customer if they are willing to consider using Adobe Connect, which is part of SAP Enterprise Learning.

  • LMS 3.2 Interface Inventory

Is there a way to create a report of interfaces that contains the information contained in the Module Port Interfaces section of the detailed device report?:
I've attempted creating some custom templates to create a single table containing this information, but have not had any luck. In particular I'm interested in the Port Vendor Type along with Admin Status and Operational Status to identify all the active optical/removable interfaces such as SFP modules and XENPAKS for all devices in inventory, primarily 6500s.   Thanks.

These properties are not yet available in custom reports.  I've been pushing to get all inventory attributes available in custom reports as part of CSCsj78780.  Unfortunately, not all of the attributes are there yet.

  • Is there a better interface available for Oracle 10g Express?

    Dear Experts
I just installed Oracle 10g Express for a trial to develop and Accounting ERP. Until now i have been using MS SQL Server 7.0 & 2000 on VB but now we are considering JAVA and want to get the feel of Oracle. My questions are as follows:
    1. Is there a better inteface available other than the Internet Explorer?
    2. Would a better interface be avaliable in other version of Oracle 10g?
    3. Does Oracle have interface to create relationships graphically?
    4. Is there documentation available for 10g in one bundle like the Sybase Adaptive server anywhere or MS Books online?
    5. This is really an excellent forum and i have seen some of the answers and they are great.
Thanks a lot i hope i will be successfully be able to develop an application using Java (desktop version using swing)and Oracle 10g

    Standman--
If you want a somewhat more powerful tool (albeit more complicated) check out TOra:
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/tora/
As an Oracle DBA I've used this at client's sites when I can't pay for PL/SQL Developer to be installed, and it has quite a few useful things built into it. I think that it's going to see a boom in popularity now that Oracle came out with XE.

  • No inbound interface available in interface determination.

    Hi Guys,
I am doing File to web service scenario. I have completed all the steps required in Integration Repository. But in Integration directory while doing interface determination, I am not able to locate my inbound interface. It is showing message “No Object found”.
I have checked interface mapping and in it I am using same outbound and inbound interface.
    I would appreciate yours inputs.

    Hi Sunil,
You must have chosen Inbound and Outbound Interface for Interface Mapping in the Integration repository.
Also, when you do you Interface Determintaion you must have chosen sender and receiver Interface. They have to be the same as described in the Integration repostiory for the Interface mapping to come up in ID.
Please can you activate your Interface mapping again and try importing it into ID

  • LMS 4.2 -- Now Available -- Licensing?

    Hi all,
I just discoverd that Cisco Prime LMS 4.2 is downloadable.
Does anybody of you know, whether 4.2 can be installed "over" 4.1 with license of LMS 4.1,
or do we have to obtain an new license for LMS 4.1 (as needed for upgrade LMS 4.01 to LMS 4.1).
    Thanks for any feedback
    Lothar

    Q. I'm an existing LMS customer. Are upgrades to Cisco Prime LMS 4.2  covered under my existing Software Application Support (SAS) contract?
    A. CiscoWorks LMS 4.0 customers and Cisco Prime LMS 4.1 customers with  active SAS contracts can obtain a no charge service release update to  Cisco Prime LMS 4.2, which is part of the Cisco Prime Infrastructure  bundle, through the Product Upgrade Tool at http://www.cisco.com/upgrade.
SAS  does not cover major upgrades from LMS 2.x and 3.x; an upgrade part  number will need to be purchased to move to Cisco Prime LMS 4.2. These  upgrade part numbers reflect a significant discount to protect  customers' investment in the Cisco Prime product line. Refer to the  Cisco Prime Infrastructure Ordering Guide located at http://www.cisco.com/go/primeinfrastructure for details.

  • Cisco Prime LMS 4.2 Device Availability Poller & Portlet

The default, non-editable "System" Device Availability poller appears to be the only one used by the Availability Pie Chart Portlet. Or is there a way to a show a chart based on a user defined poller, which excludes devices known to be currently offline?

    Hi ,
It's true  that you will not be able to Delete the system Defined pollers ,however you can DEACTIVATE them.
selecet system defined device availblity poller and De-activate it..
Now created a NEW poller , add the devices which you are interested in. and you should able to see the data in the PIE chart for the user defined poller.
    Thanks-

  • LMS 2.6 - Software Interfaces not listed in DFM

I'm having an issue where not all of the configured interfaces on my routers are being pulled back to DFM for management. All of the routers affected are 2811's with a Loopback interface for management. When I look at DFM, I see that there are 3 interfaces available to manage/unmanage (fe1,2 , and serial), but the Loopback interface is not there. The Loopback interface shows up whenever I do SNMP walk the device so I know it should be appearing. The software interfaces on every other router and switch seem to be pulled back to DFM just fine.
Any ideas as to how I can get the software interfaces to show up? I'd like to set a couple unnecessary ones to an unmanaged state to get rid of some false alarms, but I'm unable to do so since they are not under "interfaces" in the device management tool. DFM apparently will alert on them, but I can't find a way to turn them off.
Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Internally, DFM associates a pattern for allowed virtual interfaces which does not include loopbacks.  This is not done for all platforms.  To override this behavior, edit NMSROOT/objects/smarts/conf/discovery/tpmgr-param.conf, and add the following line:
    IFDescrPattern-.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.576 *
Note: that sysObjectID is for the 2811.  If you have other devices exhibiting the same problem, you will need to add similar lines with their sysObjectIDs.
After making this change, restart Daemon Manager.  Then, delete the problem devices from DFM, and re-add them.

  • LMS 4.2 monitoring capability

Does this version supports multi-vendor support other than Cisco.
We have Brocades Load Balancers/switches, Junipers Firewalls, and Fortinet devices on our network and we are interested to see if Ciscoworks supports any of these device platforms.

Right now, out of the box, LMS can check the availability of these non-cisco devices.
You can also monitor the interfaces of the devices. traffic errrors etc. For this you have to create a poller and specify what interfaces it should monitor.
If you import mibs you can select numeric OID's to watch.
    Cheers,
