Loaded runtime but missing visa drivers?

I created an executeable on one pc and loaded it onto another with just the runtime engine installed.  Now the serial visa's will not work so I am assuming I am missing some visa drivers.  What would the best way to get these loaded, if in fact that is the issue?  The PC is no longer in my possession so I would have to do this by sending files and have the operator manually load them.
I have another PC at the location that does have the drivers.  Is there anyway to copy and paste the required folders or do I need to use an installer?
Thanks in advance.

CTBK,
You need to install the NI-VISA Runtime Engine on the target machine.  Make sure to install the same version as the NI-VISA installed on your development machine.
P.S.  Best way to handle this is to create an installer that installs the .exe, LV Runtime Engine, NI-VISA Runtime Engine and any other supporting software.

    HI,
From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences then select the Appearance tab. Tick the box next to: Display images when the page opens.
If that box is already ticked, from the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset. Relaunch Safari. If you still have problems loading images, go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem. Safari: Add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
Web pages now include a small icon or 'favicon' which is visible in the address bar and next to bookmarks. These icons take up disk space and slow Safari down. It is possible to erase the icons from your computer and start fresh. *To delete Safari's icon cache using the Finder, open your user folder, navigate to ~/Library/Safari/ and move this file "webpageIcons.db to the Trash.*
Make sure Safari is not running in Rosetta. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle so it faces down. Where you see Open using Rosetta... make sure that is NOT selected.
If you still have problems, go to the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences. Make note of all the preferences under each tab. Quit Safari. Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move this file com.apple.safari.plist to the Desktop. Relaunch Safari. If it's a successful launch, then that .plist file needs to be moved to the Trash.

  • An EXE under 8.5.1 runtime engine can't find VISA drivers

Apologies in advance for newbie question.
I built a simple app (EXE) that uses PC serial port, using VISA drivers.
Works OK on one Dell PC, not OK on another.  Not exactly sure what to try.
The failure occurs when code hits the "Visa configure serial port" block.
See attached bitmaps for error message and offending block.
Do the Visa drivers need to be installed by me on the PC ?

    Hello Remerlin,
Did you just create an exe, or did you create a full installer.  If you are going to deploy an application that uses functionality such as VISA, or LabView Runtime, you need to create an installer and include the additional installers such as VISA.  The following is a link to a tutorial on how to do this.
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/5406
When creating the installer, go to additional installers under categories (in installer properties) and make shure VISA, and LabView Runtime are checked, as well as any other functionality you will be using.

  • Cannot load Runtime engine verion 7.0, only 8.0 and later versions are supported

    Hi,
I am new to using third party labview drivers. I have a labview driver for Chroma 63600 loads that I want to use in TestStand 2012.
However when I load the vi. I get an error 'cannot load Runtime engine verion 7.0, only 8.0 and later versions are supported'
I have Labview Runtime Engine version 7.0 Installed on my Windows 7 machine.
Could anyone please let me know, How I could resolve this issue?

To avoid more confuison,Here is the scenario,
The version that was on the driver attached is from the  driver manufacturer.
I do not have any version of labview INSTALLED on my system. I am using the driver in Test Stand 2012 using a labview adapter.
I make sure I match the VI version and the run time engine version on TestStand 2012 to load the VI.
But for this specific driver, I was not successful in loading the VI at all.
As I understood that only 8.0 OR LATER are supported on TS 2012, I have asked to upconvert the driver to work with 8.2.1 Labview runtime engine.
I have now got a.LLB file of the driver  mass compiled in Labview 2012 from discussion boards( and also attached here).  I have tried the mass compiled LLB file on TS2012 but still have issues loading the VI as it moans about different version of SUB VIs.
However I am still trying to fix this version incomaptibilies. Any help would be much appreciated

    Hello Robert,
I wasn't able to find too much about this error on our end, but doing a wider search it seems errors involving MSVCRT.DLL usually take place when this Microsoft C Runtime Library file is replaced by a third-party file that lacks "_resetstkoflwfunction". It's odd that the error occurs only after closing the application. Here is a third-party website I was able to find which explains this in a bit more detail, and might be a fix to try if your are comfortable: How to Fix Common Msvcrt.dll Errors?

  • Missing VIs

I have been upgrading our lab computers and installing our Labview
programs executables that run in the lab and wanted to refine the
programs and update them to LV7 since they were done in 6. I have
opened the files in 7 and I am having errors appear because of missing
vis. I programmed these 3 years and haven't used Labview since so
needless to say I am very rusty. Can someone tell me if these are LV
vis or were they created by me? I don't think I have all of the data
backed up from when I created these so I may just have to run these and
    be happy with that.
The files in question are AI Sample Channels.vi, multiple time delay
match.vi and created data string.vi. Does anyone recognise these as LV
vis? Is there any way to reverse engineer an .exe LV file?
I will keep looking for my backed up work...........
    Thanks for any help.
    Dave

AI Sample Channels.vi is a DAQ VI from the
"Traditional DAQ" drivers. When you installed LV 7, you likely just
installed the new DAQmx drivers so you no longer have the AI Sample Channels.vi available. You can either install the Traditional DAQ drivers
into LV 7 or (recommended) update your application to use the DAQmx
drivers if your DAQ boards are supported. (most are, only very old ones
    are not).
The other two are likely something you built for this application. A
search in my LV 6.1 palette doesn't show either one. So they are either
built by you or from a tool kit I don't have, but I have most of them.
You might be able to get to these two VI's in the .exe by remaning the
.exe to a .llb and opening it with the library manager (look in the
Tools menu), but most likely they won't have block diagrams and so they
won't be able to be upgraded to LV 7 and you won't be ab;e to see the
    diagram to rebuild it.

  • Crystal Runtime exception: Missing parameter values

Our company did a PeopleTools upgrade at one of our clients recently. We upgraded them to PeopleTools 8.50.08. We had to convert all the Crystal Reports to the 2008 format using the RPT converter which is included in the Client install of PeopleTools.
The only problem now is that a lot of the Crystal processes in PeopleSoft are failing with the following error:
Crystal Runtime exception: Missing parameter values.
I've checked the parameters which are being passed to the report and I see both parameters are filled:
    E:\HR881\BIN\CLIENT\WINX86\PSCRRUN.EXE -CTORACLE -CDHRMKPDEV -COPSDUT -CPOPRPSWD -I218609 -RP"PUP202K" -OT6 -OP"G:\PS\PSPRCS\log_output\HRMKPDEV\CRW_PUP202K_218609" -LGDUT -OF2 -ORIENTL "2000-10-01" "2002-06-30"
Database type is Oracle. HRMS version is 8.8. I can run the Query which gets the data in just fine and I can also run the report from Crystal fine. This only happens with Crystal reports which have a date field as a parameter/prompt in the report.
There's currently an SR open at Oracle, but I was hoping that someone here can help me nail this issue. I'm not too happy with the quallity of Oracle support, but that's a whole different story.

<s>Just to be sure, did you put a space after each parameter name or is it a typo over here ?

  • FCP will load once but then crash the rest

    Hi guys,
I dont know why this keeps happening, but everytime i load FCP it stops loading half way through. When i uninstall completely then reinstall it will load up, but only once. Then everytime i load after that, it just crashes. Anyways could someone give me some advice on this issue? I'm running OS X 4.9 and Final Cut Pro 5.1.4
    Thanks

I just noticed this actually when I tried to clean install it again. It still has all my saved data in the register form, would u happen to know how i could get rid of that file? It actually still has the original data info from FCP 5.0. Actually, when I do get rid of FCP I delete the Final Cut app will all its data, then check my install drive for all files named "final cut", but I think im missing a file that I need to delete, would u happen to know how I could get rid of all the final cut files?

    Hi Rani,
I have had similar experience of adding huge group of users to the collaboration rooms. I was in a situation where around 22,000 users had to be added and we were on SPS16 believe me it consumes a lot of time to add users of this size, we upgraded to SPS18 and the issue was resolved as SPS17 and upwards allows you to add user groups. In your case when you add user groups, the users in the group are expanded and added to the room maintenance page hence the loading is so slow and the same thing happens again if you make any changes and save. I sincerely suggested upgrading as I have gone through the similar situation.
About SAP webdispatcher, you are thinking in the right direction if your requirement is load balancing. Accessing portal through internet is another dimension to it. Do you know how many users will be accessing it through internet? Have you already explored alternates like VPN ( if the user base is not too large)?

  • Can you mix VISA drivers & GPIB functions?

Can you mix VISA instrument drivers & GPIB I/O functions on the same block diagram? I am using VISA drivers to control a LeCroy LT344L oscilloscope - they are working fine, but I need to perform a query of some specific scope parameters and the VISA drivers cannot provide the exact command that I need. I used the GPIB send and receive for these query commands, but now am getting an error message:
"Error -1073807265 occured at VISA Write in LCDSO Utility Default Instrument Setup.vi->LCDSO Initialize.vi->ReadMeas.vi Possible reasons: VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF005F) No listeners condition is detected (both NRFD and NDAC are deasserted).
Is there a possible confict when both these protocols are used together? Thanks fo
    r any help or insight.
    Mike Selecky

I just want to clarify a few things about mixing VISA and GPIB.
If all your I/O is done on the diagram with VISA functions and GPIB
functions, you should be okay. LabVIEW has code that tries to keep the two
from stomping on each other. You have to know what you're doing--you can't
have two VIs trying to control the instrument at once, for example.
This is _not_ true for C-based instrument drivers (aka, VXIPNP,
including IVI). We have no protection between the VISA calls inside those
drivers and the builtin functions. If one is in progress and you try to use
the other, you'll get an error. One way to demonstrate this would be to
start a GPIB Read (which is asynchronous by default, meaning that LabVIEW
starts the Read and then looks for other stuff to do),
    then use an
instrument driver for a device on the same bus. The instrument driver will
return an error. You just have to be using the same bus--it doesn't matter
if you use the same device.
Fortunately, this doesn't come up that often in practice. When needed,
there are workarounds--e.g., keeping all GPIB I/O in a single thread (at
least per bus) and using synchronous VISA and GPIB Reads/Writes. Yes, we're
working on ways to make this less of an issue, but I won't go into details
    yet.

A similar problem was reported before on this Forum - see
Re: not able create connection to timesten
checking the Release Notes I can see 11.2.1.8.0 has been tested against Glassfish 3 but I
can't see any mention about Glassfish 2 in the v7 or v11 Release Notes (albeit only on a quick
    search).
In my full install on XP, ttJdbcCS1121.dll is in C:\TimesTen\tt1121_32\bin

  • Problems with loading native library/missing methods:no ttJdbcCS in java.li

Iam facing one problem while connecting the timesten client to the server The SQL Exception which Iam getting is pasted below:-
Problems with loading native library/missing methods: no ttJdbcCS in java.library.path
I am working with MAC OS X 10.7.2 and my timesten client version is 11.2.1.0
I have also changed the Java Preferences from 64-bit to 32-bit but still whenever i tried to connect with the SQL Developer it gives me the above error.

I just tried this out. My environment is OS X 10.7.4, Timesten (32-bit) client 11.2.1.9.0, SQL Developer 3.1.07, Oracle Java 1.7.0_04.
The key things you need to be sure to do (in a terminal window) are:
    1. Be sure to . in the TimesTen environment script <tt_install_dir>/bin/ttenv.sh to set the full TT environment.
    2. Change directory to SQLDeveloper.app/Contents/Resources/sqldeveloper
    3. Run 'sh sqldeveloper.sh -J-d32'
    and all should be fine.
Note that if you are using Java7 as I am then there is a step 1a. Change the CLASSPATH environment variable to specify ttjdbc6.jar not ttjdbc5.jar. For some reason running the app directly from Finder does not work even if you add -J-d32 into the sqldeveloper launch script. I'm still looking into that.
