Loading a blob from forms ?

I would like to know if anyone has loaded a file into the
database in a blob field with forms not using OLE in client
server mode.

Well, sorry for the delayed response.
You can load Word Documents also in forms. For this you have to
use OLE interface.
Just, create an OLE container for your database item (say,
notes_text) and use the following code for loading the document
to that item.
FORMS_OLE.INITIALIZE_CONTAINER (:notes_text, '<file_name>');
FORMS_OLE.CLOSE_SERVER (:notes_text);
The above code will initialize the OLE container with specified
document. After initializing the OLE container, just commit the
record to save the document into database.
Hope the above helps you.
Best Wishes,
Ganeasn

  • Jfmerge: [240]Failure loading colour palette from form file.

    Hi All,
    I need your help. I am new to JetForm and have to use it because of my work. Recently I have been assigned a task which is to amend an existing form, however, when I opened it with the JetForm Designer, it prompted me with message #4043 with following information:
    The current settings for Symbol Set handling are different
    from when the form was last saved.
    Form: Convert is Yes,950,950
    Current: Convert is Yes,1252,850
    I skipped the warning message and just compile the MDF file directly without any changes. Then, I just got the "jfmerge: [240]Failure loading colour palette from form file." error message during the printing process. May I know how could I fix it? Please help and advise.
    Thanks,
    Charoite

    Hello,
    I have exactly same problem than you while opening an existing .ifd file :
    The current settings for Symbol Set handling are different from when the template was last saved.
    Template : Convert is No,936,850
    Current : Convert is N0,1252,850
    I suppose it is due to chinese characters (Simsun font) bad installed on my desktop, but it is only hypothesis.
    Did you achieve to avoid this message since 05/2011 ?

  • Inserting to BLOB from Forms 6i

    I need to take one of the following file types from a client machine and insert it into a BLOB column on the database:
    Word, Excel, PDF, MS Project, GIF or JPG
    I am using oracle forms 6i, the database is Oracle 9.2.
    To get the file into the form, I believe I need to have the blob column defined as an ole_container. To put the file into the container, I need something like this:
    :blob_name := GET_FILE_NAME('c:\');
    if :attchmnt_name is not null
         then
    Initialize_Container('ATTCHMNT_FILE',:blob_name);
    end if;
    Am I missing something here?

    Thanks for your response, Harish.
    Unfortunately, I am still unable to connect to the database under Forms 6i or SQL*Plus 8.0 (under Oracle - OraHome81).
    I have tried to modify the TNSnames.ora file as you suggested, but since there are several TNSnames.ora files under similar directory, I cannot be absolutely sure if I have modified the specific file that you intended me to. Below are the directories of the files that I tried to modify:
    * Oracle\OraDev\NET80\ADMIN
    * Oracle\OraAppSvr\NET80\ADMIN
    * Oracle\oraenterprise\NET80\ADMIN
    * Oracle\Ora81\NETWORK\ADMIN
    Enclosed is also the modification that I added in the TNSnames.ora:
    orcl.world =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS =
    (COMMUNITY = tcp.world)
    (PROTOCOL = TCP)
    (Host = oracle.cba.uh.edu)
    (Port = 1521)
    (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = ORCL)
    Moreover, I am also not sure about your last suggestion to add environmental variable in the registry of Forms. I would really appreciate it if you can elaborate on this.
    Again, thanks very much for your help, Harish. I greatly appreciate it.

  • Error in Loading a BLOB Column in Oracle Database from 1 to diff  schema

    Hi ALL,
    I am in a POC where in I have to load a BLOB data from 1 schema to a different schema ie from Staging to Target.
    I load my staging(Oracle Schema ) through Oracle PLSQL. Now I have to load to my ODS.
    I am using the LKM (LKM SQL to Oracle) and IKM (IKM Oracle Incremental Update PLSQL).
    It errors out in the 3rd step 3-Loading-SS_0 Load Data
    The script used and the error message is in the attachment. However if I run the script manually it runs and the Load happens successfully. Also I was able to load the same BLOB objects it the tables were in the same schema(In this case LKM is bypassed).
    Any Thoughts on this?

    Hi,
    Are you at the same database? If yes is better to grant select, at the schemas where is the source, to your Staging Area user.
    Then, at topology, define all physical schemas under the same Data Server.
    If you are at distinct database a good solution is to use a DBLink (KM) because when a SQL to SQL KM is used, the data go thru agent, making a conversion to Java.
    I'm not sure if it can handle LOB's fields... Every time that I needed to use it was in the ways that I described.
    Does it make any sense to you?

  • Calling SQL*Loader from Forms

    Hi,
    I was wondering if anyone has called SQL*Loader from Forms?
    What I am wanting to do is use Oracle Forms as the interface where you can specify a file that you can import into the database and it will use a set control file. Push the import button and SQL*Loader does the rest.
    Is using Java code to call SQL*Loader from Forms a viable option, or is there an easier way to achieve the desired outcome.
    Any ideas or guidance will be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Scott.

    Scott,
    In forms, there's a HOST built-in command which is supposed to execute any o/s commands.
    What you have to do is :
    1. Bult up the string exacltly in the fashion which you will run in o/s
    2. Call the HOST Built-in and pass in the string
    Here's a example :
    Declare
    lOsCmd Varchar2(1000) := Null;
    Begin
    lOsCmd := 'sqlldr user-id=userid/passwd@connectStr '
    || ' control=c:\temp\abc.ctl log=c:\temp\abc.log '
    || ' bad = c:\temp\abc.log';
    Host (lOsCmd, No_Screen);
    End;

  • Infopackage-Load Many Files from Application Server and later Archive/Move

    Hi All..
      I have a doubt,   I have a requirement of take many files to load into BI 7.0..  I used the infopackage before with option:
    Load Binary File From Application server
      I load information successfully... only with one file ...but If I can load many files (with different names) like the next list.. I think it's not a good idea modify the file name (path) on infopackage each time).. :
    *All of this files will be on one server that itu2019s map into AL11.. Like
    Infopfw
    BW_LOAD_20090120.txt
    BW_LOAD_20090125.txt
    BW_LOAD_OTHER_1.txt
    u2026.
    Etc..
    This directory it's not in BW server.. It's other server..but I can load form this location (one file by one)
    Could you help me with this questions:
    -     How can I Use an infopackage with routine that take all the files..one by oneu2026 in order of creation dateu2026and load into Target? Is it possible?.. I have some knowledge of ABAP.. but I don´t know exactly how I can say to system this logicu2026
    -     In addition is it possible move this files to other locationu2026 like into Infopfwarchive u2026 just to have an history of files loaded.
    I saw that in infopackage you have an option to create a routine.. in ABAP codeu2026 Iu2019m a little bit confused because I donu2019t  know how I can specify all the path..
    I try with:
    Infopfw
    InfopfwFile.csv
    Infopfw
    This is the abap code that automatically you see and you need to modifyu2026
    Create a routine for file name
    This routine will be called by the adapter,
    when the infopackage is executed.
              p_filename =
              p_subrc = 0.
    Thank you for your ideas or recommendations.
    Al

    Hi Reddy, thank you for your answer
    I have some doubuts.. when you explain me the option:
    All the above files are appending dates at the end of the file....
    You can load the files through infopackage by using Routines and pick the files based on date at the end of the file..***
    I need to ask you if you think that when you know the date of the file and the infopackage pick each file... thi can work for many files??... or how it's possible control this process?
    About this option, I want to ask you If when you menction Unix code... where it's programed this code?.. in the routine of BW Infopackage??
    ****Or
    Create two folders in your BW in Application server level, in AL11 (ask Basis team)
    I call it is F1 and F2 folders.
    First dump the files into F1 I assume that the file name in F1 is "BW_LOAD_20090120.txt", using Unix code you rename the file and then keep in the same foleder F1 or move to F2.
    Then create InfoPackage and fix the file name (i.e. you renamed), so you don't need to change everyday your file name at infopackage level.Because in AL11 everyday the file are overwrite.
    To I get BW_LOAD_20090120.txt file in F1, then I renamed to BW_LOAD.txt and loaded into BW, then tomorrow I get BW_LOAD_20090125.txt in F1, then I renamed to BW_LOAD.txt....
    so in this way it will work.You need to schedule the Ubix script in AL11.
    This is the way how to handle the application server...I'm using the same logic.
    Thank you soo much.

  • How do I load a picture from the clipboard (either Windows clipboard or Labview clipboard) into image data that can then be processed in Labview?

    I want to load a picture from the Windows clipboard (and if not possible, then from the Labview clipboard) into actual numerical image data so that it can be processed in lab view. When I'm at the main screen where I can add controls, I see a section of controls called "Vision" in the tool bar where all the different controls can can be added from. When I go to the control called "Image" and put that on my form, and then look at the flowchart/blockdiagram programing window to see what inputs and outputs it has, I only see one output, and no inputs. And when I right click on it, I see NO way to load an image into the Image control. PLEASE help me.
    Message Edited by Ben321 on 11-09-2008 04:32 PM

    Hi Ben,
    National Instruments has an image processing software called Vision and although I am not completely sure, I think the controls that you found in the control pallet are used in conjunction with the software. Depending on what kind of image processing you want to conduct in LabVIEW, you might want to consider purchasing that product.
    If cost is an issue, there are functions in LabVIEW which allows you to take in image files and process them. However, please keep in mind that the capabilities are limited.
    Images should be loaded onto LabVIEW not via the clipboard but through loading it from folders or directories. (There might be a way to and so if you find a way please let me know! I would like to know myself =D) If you open the function pallet by right clicking on the block diagram, in the programming folder you should find a directory called "Graphic and Sound". There, you'll find functions in which allows you to process images.
     In the "Graphic Type" directory there should be a function called Read JPEG file.vi. There are also others which allows you to read png and bmp files. Please note that there are functions which write as well. Set a file path on the block diagram and inside the "Grahic and Sound" there is a "Picture Function" directory and inside there, there should be a function called "Draw Flattened Pixmap.vi" That changes the image into a format where you can process on LabVIEW. Inside the "Picture Function" directory there are several functions which allows you to process the specified image. Play around with it and see how it goes. And don't forget to Write the file in the end to save any changes.
    I hope this helps

  • Desinger Workflow 2010: Unable to load workflow actions from the server. Please contact your server administrator?

    Hello,
    I am facing a problem from last some days..
    When I am trying to open/create/update workflows from Designer 2010, then designer giving me an error "Unable to load workflow actions from the server. Please contact your server administrator".
    I researched on internet for this error and found some possible reason like

    So that I checked for permission for login user, but it has administrator rights. and I tried to open workflow by removing custom activity code, but still exist.
    also if I tried to create/update workflow for another site on same server then it works without any problem.

    Hello Sachin,
    You can use the following metalink note:How to Read Data from an EXCEL Spreadsheet into a Form Using Webutil Client_OLE2 (Doc ID 813535.1) and modify it a little bit.
    Instead of copy values into forms you can save them in your temporary table.
