!!!Loading Servlets for the first time!!!
Whenever I first start weblogic and I hit a servlet for the first time there
is a long initialization period. My servlet uses a ton of other classes
which is the reason for the lag. Once it is hit for the fist time, every
subsequent hit is very fast. This I believe is due to the fact that all of
the other dependent classes are loaded into Weblogic's JVM.
My first solution to this problem was to use weblogic's build in servlet
startup class which loads the servlet and calls its init method. This does
not work because much of my initialization is done in other servlet methods.
The servlet itself is initialized but all of its dependent classes are not.
My second solution was to preload all of the dependent classes when the
server starts up. So when the first user hits the a servlet they do not have
to wait 30+ seconds. Therefore I also tried implementing a T3Client of my
own which extends T3StartupDef. This class takes in as args all of the
dependent classes and loads each one into memory. But this seems not to work
because I JVM is garbage collecting all of the classes initialized.
Has anyone out there encountered this problem.

How often does this servlet have to be reloaded? If your WL server isn't
being bounced, then only one server per WL bounce will ever see this
problem; a simple solution would be for the support team to just invoke that
servlet on those occasions when the server bounces.

Running Windows 64 bit. This has happened before. It was running great for the last 8 months (including this morning), syncing no problem with a variety of Apple devices. Opened it today and it is like I have a brand new iTunes loaded up with no music or playlists.

If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:

Hi can anyone please help. My I Phone is in recovery mode. I have loads of pics and vids including my little girl counting to ten for the first time.
Can I recover these files or have I lost them? I lost the phone last week and it was returned working but with an update to install I did this and it shut down.

I've lost a load of notes, but dont know why or how to get them back. I cant find the folder that is in my Yahoo account that people have suggested might be the location for the messages. I recently signed into iCloud for the first time. Any idea how to get the notes back? I really dont want to lose them.
It should keep asking for the password, because it's trying to check for purchases... As soon as you login, it will see you have pending downloads and create the downloads section on the left below Purchases under the Store section. Then it will start the music downloads there, as they will be listed one below the other.
You could just try to check your account balance or view your account and that will trigger a password request too. You can just click on that and say that now iTunes keeps asking for the password and ask him to help you with that. Trick would be to interrupt him so that he carries on with another task after, so he doesn't notice the download. Or you carry on with email or browsing which you were "busy" with when iTunes interrupted you for the password (stupid iTunes) -
Page does not load for the first time
Hi,
When I enter the URL to load the page, it does not work, i.e I get page not found message. But when I refresh(F5) the page gets loaded. This is just not for the login page but all my report and form pages and this happens only for the first time I try to access in the day. I couldnt understand why it happens? Can someone help me to understand the problem I am facing?

Trying to open Premiere elements 12 for the first time even though I had it loaded for a while. It gives me a message that I need to be connected to the internet (which I am) or that my clock is off (it is correct). Any suggestions?
First we need to check , whether the LAN settings is set to detect settings Automatically or not.
Follow below steps .
1)Open Control Panel and then click on the option "Network and Internet" .
2)Click on Internet options, click on 'Connections' tab.
3)In the 'Connections' tab, select 'LAN' settings, you will be able to view the Local area network settings box.
4)Check the box-"Automatically Detect Settings" and then "uncheck" all the other check boxes like 'Use automatic configuration script', 'Use a proxy server' , Bypass proxy server' ,then click on ok button .
5)Click on "LAN settings" button again , make sure "Automatically Detect Settings" is the only option selected, keep the LAN properties window open.
Then launch Premiere Elements 12 and try to sign in.

I'm trying to set up a cluster for the first time and running into
issues (no big surprise). I'll outline my situation and pose questions
as they arise. If/when I get things to work I'll post a step-by-step
summary of what it took to get a simple cluster going.
Here's what I have:
machines:
1 Windows 2000 machines with WL 6.1
2 RedHat Linux machines with WL 6.1
All machines are on the same Home LAN, can see each other, etc.
IP addresses are:
Windows box: 192.168.1.100
Linux box 1: 192.168.1.102
Linux box 2: 192.168.1.103
servers:
I've set up the Windows machine as my admin server, and set up
a managed server on each Linux machine. I created a cluster that consists
of the 2 Linux machines and deployed the web app and EJB to the cluster.
The Windows machine is acting as a Proxy using ClusterServlet.
The web application has been set as the Default Web Application on the
two Linux machines. All 3 machines are listening on ports 80/443. I also
set up session memory replication through the console.
Application:
I have an application that I package as an EAR file. I'm using it as a
"reference" application designed to mimic a real world app as much as possible.
The EAR file contains a web application that uses Struts. It also consists
of a single Stateless Session Bean. The WAR file and EJB Jar are all
packaged up into the EAR file. I've been able to run this application just
fine on a single managed server on all 3 machines.
The web application works fine, and it can invoke the EJB. I can also
invoke the EJB from Java stand-alone clients. Struts works great. All is
well with the world. Now I'm trying to "cluster-ize" this app using
the environment described above and encountering issues.
I've read the docs and followed the instructions according to the
"Weblogic Bible" book. I can bring up all 3 servers and the Linux
managed servers connect to the cluster just fine. I can also
see the Struts messages in their logs which normally happens and tells me
the webapp is initialized properly. The console tells me that the managed
servers are running. I get no error messages starting up any of the serves.
Here are the problems I am encountering.
When I try to access the Web Application (through a browser on the
Windows machine using http://localhost) I get the following error message:

define a "Machine" or a "Unix Machine". What's the difference? Should I
define the Linux machines as Unix machines or machines, and what are the
consequences of either choice?
Question2:
I'm not totally clear on how my web.xml should look to set up Struts,
the ClusterServlet, and a servlet filter I'm using to test Servlet filters.

A1> No need to name diff machines by default weblogic
considers the servers are physically located in diff boxes.
The names are used to differtiate the mang servers which are in
multihomed
Some things to chk
1> Did u targeted the ear file Target as cluster.
2> Can u see on the Admin console that both the man servers
are participated in the cluster( u can see by clicking the monitoring
tab on the Cluster node).
3>Is the URL:PORT for the default web app correct?
the reason: is I dont see the port# on the link u mentioned
4> probably ur ejb might not been deployed on the target thats the
reason u cant access thru java client. If u correct the targets that
will probably fix it.

AlirezaNot sure why you wanted to implement beforePhase listener, but did you try commenting out your custom code and check? All the refreshTabContent does is to refresh the components that comes along with the template. It works fine for me. So, as Timo said, check your custom code or try commenting the code and narrow down the issue.

Thus, the classpath being set in that shell script is not incorporating the .jar files where the endeca-specific classes are packaged. I would start by adding an line to see what your classpath is set to. There are actually already some lines of shell script in clover that you can uncomment to see what .jars are getting loaded:

F4v wont load in firefox the first time.
Hi all!
Im not sure if this is the place to put this, but i have a problem.
I have created a swf movie file that containes the movie playback panel & a f4v video & I have uploaded them to a subfolder on my server.
The whole site has a secure connection (https), but the page that i will try to embed the movie will have a regualr connection (http).
The problem arises when i do embed this flash video in a HTML file. in IE & Chrome it works and looks great, But in firefox it doesnt.
If i clear my cache (as if i were a new visitor to the site) and enter the page, the movie isn't displayed at all...is shows "done" in the browser loading bar.
After about a minute or so (which i assume is the amount of time it takes to load the full movie), i hit refresh, and the movie appears fully loaded.
The movie is currently embeded in my homepage (via Iframe - for site protocol reasons), and if it wont load immidiatly from the first time a user enters the site, many users will miss the video (and get a blank white box in the middle of the site).

How to charge for the first time?
I bought myself a new iPhone and this was from the store, not from someone else, so how should I charge it for the first time? Should I wait when iPhone loads out till blank screen and the charge it to 100%?
How do you charge your iPhone by the way, sometimes I think that I should not let it load out till the blank screen, because when I put it on charge it sometimes took at least three times to begin charging - instead it loaded me the apple logo, waited for a second and then it loaded itself out, then I needed to push the sleep/wake button to turn it on and again it only showed me the apple logo for a second and loaded the iPhone out.
Do you start to charge your iPhone when it gives you the alert that 20% or 10% are remaining?The new batteries don't need as much care as the old generations. Their lifetime is supposed to be mostly independent of how often and at what charge levels you discharge them. So feel free to charge as you wish.
If it starts showing inaccurate battery levels, calibrate it by doing a full discharge/recharge cycle. -
Sortingtable clears the forms when the column is clicked for the first time
Hi All,
I have text fields which will take the conditions for search and result will be displayed in the sorting table of the same form,
When the search is done for the first time the result is shown in the sortingTable, but when we click any of the column to get it sorted it clears out the whole screen and shows only the search text fields.But when we do a search again in the same form there after the sort works.it does not clear out.
This happens for the first search after the form is loaded for the first time from the workflow

The issue i find is when the any column is clixked for sorting for the first time all the form variables even if it is under Expansion is lost, but when we do the search again (even with different criteria) the same page and hit the sort column again the form variables are retained -
Commandlink in paneltab fail's to navigate for the first time
Problem Description:
We have a panelTab which will be rendered based on the parameter passed from the called page. The corresponding showdetailitem will be disclosed based on the parameter value. We have a commandlink that is added to the showdetailitem which is not navigating to the corresponding page for the first time. When we click any other tab and comes back to the current showdetailitem then the commandlink works well

Briefing:
when the page loads, the parameter that is passed to the tab is set to true so that the 3rd tab is disclosed. This is working as expected.
But when we click the commandlink the navigation is not happening..
If user clicks on any other tab and goes back to 3rd tab, it displays page2. and from now onwards it works fine.
Any solution/workaround for this..issue resolved..
Solution:
setting the param value to the pageflowScope and using it resolved the isssue.
The reason is, the parameter that you are trying to pass in the URL exists only when you click the "goLink1" link (present in the template)..Once the page shows up, the parmeter will not be there and so when you click the link in the third tab, the framework will try to re-evaluate the tabs disclosure property and will find that the condition is not true and so will not do anything inside the tab...Got the above info from one friend.. -
Event gets lost when iView is uncompressed for the first time
Hi All,
we are developing an application that manages attachments (meaning: files stored in KM) and per request by the client consists of several iViews. One of them contains a search interface, another one lists the hits that have been found. So the iViews have to communicate.
We achieved the funcionality by using portal eventing and the HTTP session. The search iView compiles the search string and writes it to the session.

We then use javascript to fire an event on which the searchResult iView reacts and fetches the searchString from the session. The actual search is then performed within the searchResult-iView.
The only problem is that the client requested that the searchResult iView should initially be collapsed. So we set its "initial display" property to "collapsed" and implemented some javascript functionality in the search iView that expands the searchResult iView when a search is performed:

All works fine, except for the very first time the searchRersult iView is expanded after the application (meaning the page containing the iViews) has been opened. The searchResult iView is properly expanded, but the event seems to get lost so that no search is being performed (no error, but no reaction by the iView).
We observed that it seems as if the contents of the iView are only fetched by the browser when it's expanded for the first time. (The progress bar of the browser shows loading activity when expanding the iView for the first time). Supposedly the event gets lost because the serachResult iView doesn't fetch it since it's just being loaded.
After this initial erroneous behavior, the iView can be in compressed or expanded state before a search is being performed and everything works fine.
Interestingly enough the problem can be resolved by setting a timeout of several seconds after expanding the iView and before firing the search event. But we find this to be a very questionable (and inconvenient) method of solving this problem and would rather like to solve it properly.
Does anyone have any ideas how we could achieve this? Is there a way to determine whether an iView has been loaded by the browser (because obviously displaying and loading an iView seem to be two different things)?

JensWe introduced a boolean "isInitial" flag to the bean which we use to determine whether the iView is expanded for the first time or not. If so, there is a timeout of 2 seconds before the event is fired.

New Mac Mini. Can not boot for the first time.
Hello Mac to all the mini community. I recently buy a mac mini and it is not able to boot for the first time.
The only progress is the apple logo, the grey screen and the loading circle.
I was able to boot in safe mode by holding the power button and plug the power cord and i saw the following message:

LaCie External Harddrive not sleeping
