Local currency balance in parked documents.

Hello all,
We have realized that some foreign currency parked documents, eventhough they are zero balanced in the document currency, they keeps not zero balances in local currency until they are posted. Generally there are small differences such as 0,01.
We wonder whether there is a way of getting these documents already balanced to zero in local currency at the moment of parking them, in order to advoid some incorrect messages generated by some local developments ("Z" programs).
  Thanks a lot in advance,
     Manuel

Hello Gladys,
Thanks for your reply but, actually what we use is "save as completed" document but local currency still stay unbalanced.
We have an authorization Workflow, the approver receives the "saved as completed" document with the difference in local currency and, it is just when he or she approves the entry that the system adjusts and post...
Do you still thinking that every "saved as completed" document (in foreign currency) must be zero balanced in local currency? Cuold I be missing any flag or customizing for this to work?
Thanks a lot in advance and, best regards,
     Manuel

  • Doc. currency vs local currency diff in parked document

    Hi Team,
i was parked a document with document currency USD, but the local currency is CAD.
when i opened the parked document, document in USD currency showing debit and credits are matching woth zero balance, but when i clicked on local currency the document is showing 0.03 difference.
    any suggestions(i used 4.5 version)
    thanks,
    Ravi

    Hi, Ravi:
In F-63, there is a checkbox "Only transfer amnts in document curr. invoice", it is used as followings:
If we sets this indicator it translates the doc. currency into local currency at the time of parked document.
If we not set this indicator it translates the doc. currency into local currency when posting of document.
Eg: We are parking a document with doc. currency in USD @40
the next day we are posted that document then it is @42-
the system takes the exchange rate from the header which was specified in the parked document @40- only.
If we not set this indicator it will take at the time of posting of document @42-
    Hope it will help.
    Best Regards, Lawrence

  • Change of local currency amount in park document

    Dear SAP Experts,
I have some queries regarding the local currency in parked document.
Here are the steps to generate the issues:
    1. Enter vendor invoice using FB01 tcode. E.g the company code currency is MYR, then change the document currency to USD.  Maintain both debit and credit leg for the document. Please enter more than one expense account with different amount at debit side.
Enter the amount in document currency (in this example is USD) field and enter. System will populate the local curreny (in this case is MYR) based on the table currenct updated in the system.
At this point, the local currency (MYR) need to be changed based on user's requirement. In this case, they will be some deviation of currency rate since user has manually entered the desired amount for local currency.
    2. Park the document once finished.
3.Goto transaction FBV0 and open the parked document.
    4. You can see the ammended local currency amount still populated correctly in local currency field.
    5. Post parked document.
    6. Display the document posted and see that the local currency amount has been changed to the amount based on table rate in system.
    Queries:
    a. Is there any way to make sure that the ammended amount would not be changed after the document has been parked and then get posted? Please be informed that this scenario would not happened if the document is directly being posted without parked.
    b. If the exchange rate at document header is being changed based on the desired amount of local currency, this would not be an issue. Since the requirement is only to change the local currency amount at GL level and not at Vendor line item. But at the end the total ammended amount at GL level has to be equal to the vendor total amount. how to resolve this issue? Can standard SAP process/configuration can catered this scenarios..?
Thanks a lot for you help.
Your kind cooperation is highly appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Yuzeila

    Hi SAP experts ,
My situation is the same - to park GL documents by uploading from a file  and then edit the local currency amount if necessary.
However in my case we have an excel sheet generated from an external system and our users want to upload them and park all the journals  at a single time.
We are using RFBIBl0 direct input program to upload the file and park then transaction using FBV1.  Alll the documents are parked with the data  as in the excel sheet.
Next step is that the users go to FBV0 to edit the parked documents and sometimes it is required to change the local currency based on the current exchange rate and then post the journal  .
However when the parked documents are edited using FBV0 the local currency amount entered by the user is ignored and the system still  overwrites it with  the system calculated amount .
    b. As per your suggestion - I cannot use FV60 using direct input program as FV60 transaction is not supported.
Please can you suggest if there is any way to park the Gl documents in background  from a file  and then edit the parked documents as required i.e change amounts and other fields.
    You help is much appretiated.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Foreign and Local currency balance difference in GL

    Dear All,
I have a GL for Bank in which entries are posted manually through F-02. GL is maintained on company code currency (Say INR). The transactions posted are in foreign currency  (ex USD).
when we check the balance of the account in FBL3N it is showing FC balance as zero and Local currency balance as 100 INR.
The above situation is due to the following
    Received Amount 100 USD @ 40 = 4000 INR (manually posted JV)
Credited amount 100 USD @ 39 = 3900 INR (Manually posted through JV).
As both the activity is done through JV the system dint prompt for exchange rate difference account. So no my question is:
    1. In this scenario, is there any why the system can automatically post entry to exchange rate difference Or posting Manual JV is the only way out.
    2. What is the use of Tcode F.05. What it actually does.
    Thanks for your valuable time.
Please let me know if you need any additional details
    Regards
    Naveen

    Hi
Since you do not have any parallel currency, The balance of 100 INR in Local Currency is correct.  There is no need to write it off.
My understanding is that the transactions are as below.
Transaction    Doc Curr   Doc Curr Amt      Loc Curr     Loc Curr Amt
    1                     USD            100.00                 INR                4000.00
    2                     USD           -100.00                 INR              -3900.00
    Balance                                0.00                                          100.00
You have a Bank Account which is maintained in INR.
In first transaction, you have a receipt of 100$ and bank has applied a rate of 1USD = 40 INR.  So the balance is 4000 INR.
Then you have made a payment of 100$  and bank has applied a rate of 1USD = 39 INR.  So you still have 100 INR.
That is not a gain or loos.  It is valid balance.
    Thanks

  • How to clear cumulative local currency balance of foreign currency Bank a/c

    Hi,
We are facing a problem with the foreign currency Bank account from which we make payment in foreign currency but when we see the balance in local currency there is a difference.
e.g Local Currency RMB Bank Account Currency USD
Current Balance in Bank Account 1000 USD RMB rate 0.275 Balance in Local currency 275
We make a payment of 1000 USD at that time rate is 0.270 Payment in local currency i.e. 270
When we display of GL Balance of Bank account it is showing 0 balance but balance in RMB still showing 5 KWD which is not correct as we dont have any balance in USD. How to avoid this situation.
    Regards,
    Nirmala S.

You have to configure realized and unrealized exchange rate gain/loss accounts in transaction code OB09 for all your foreign currency balance sheet accounts.  Once this configuration is done, you have to perform foreign currency valuation (F.05 or FAGL_FC_VAL) to clear the balance in local currency and post it to unrealized exch. rate gain/loss accounts configured in OB09 above.

  • Document Currency vs Local Currency in Purchase Order document

    Hi Guru
User have created PO with foreign currency in EUR (Local currency = USD) and release strategic is completed in this PO.
Then, buyer increased exchange rate and fix the exchange rate at PO header. The PO net value in EUR still remain the same, system still trigger release strategic reset and manager need to re-approve and set release strategic as completed.
Can you tell me how to check this setting in SPRO? Is it a natural behavoir in SAP system? User asked if this option could be disabled as increase exchange rate but then the whole PO total net value still remain the same in foreign currency. Why should release strategic reset?
    Please advise

Closing this Thread as I found the answer
Within the Purchase Order, when the new TOTAL NET ORDER VALUE is higher than the old one, release strategy will be triggered once release charateristic is set for checking rule
System will check through The total net order value which is linked to CEKKO-GNETW for a purchase order.
In purchase order, the currency conversion will act as below:
Purchasing documents: Header currency converted to company code currency.
Company currency converted to characteristic currency
Hence, eventhough the exchange rate is increased but document currency is remained unchanged, the company code currency is increased and hence trigger release strategy.

  • Deactivate "Balance in local currency" in GL Account master data

    Hi all,
In the system I'm working on, for every P&L GL Account the flag "Balance in local currency" is checked.
My client required to have a report for the P&L in document currency.
With this setting it is not possibile to get this information.
I would like to deactivate the flag "Balance in local currency" for the P&L GL Accounts but the system requires the balance of the GL Account egual to zero.
Is there a way to uncheck the flag? Have you ever executed the activity?
Do you know if SAP defined a program to deactivate the "Balance in local currency"?
    Thanks
    Bye
    Stefano

    Hi,
Generally only balance in local currency checked for B/S GL accounts
Follow Standard possessor to active / de-active only balance in local currency chek box.
I hope there is no standared report available to activae / deactive only balance in local currency.
    Procedure:
Check in FS10N / FAGLB03 for closing local currency balance
Make sure GL balances Dr  & Cr maintain equal (Zero)
De-Select only balance in local currency Check Box

  • Calculating local currency using document date

    Hi,
In some company codes we had local currency calculated automatically by document date exch rate.
After upgrading to ECC 6.0. this stopped working.
I have gone through the settings in non upgraded system (5.0) and in the upgraded one and I cannot find anything.
    1) I do not want to set that in OB22. I want to have Translation date available and it should be prepopulated with document date instead of posting date. Can anyone help where to set this?
    2) Can anyone help how to make translation date field (e.g. in FB60) changeable? Now I have it greyed out in some company codes.

    Short text
    Customer Balances in Local Currency
    Description
The balances from the following transactions can be issued with the customer balance list:
    Standard G/L transactions
Special G/L transactions (per special G/L indicator)
The following figures (for a particular month only) are displayed in local currency:
Balance at period start ( balance carried forward and balance of the periods before the reporting periods)

Debit or credit balances for the whole period
The following data is issued at the end of the list for each local currency:
    Totals per company code
Final total across all company codes
    Output and Sort Sequence
You can choose from two sort sequences for the accounts. Sort sequence "1" uses the reconciliation account as the sort criteria whereas sort sequence "2" uses the account number.
With both of these sort sequences you can choose between a standard version and a corporate group version. In the standard version, the accounts are listed per company code. In the corporate group version the company codes are listed per account.
You can use the "Summarization level" parameter to specify whether the data is to be issued in detailed or summarized form.
The following overview shows the relation between
    The account sort sequences
The standard or corporate group versions
    The summarization levels
Account sort sequence 1 - standard version
    Data sorted by:
    Company code
    Reconciliation account
    Account number
    Summarization levels:
0 = No summarization (total per open item account)
1 = Summarization of the open item accounts (total per reconciliation                                                account)
2 = Summarization of the reconciliation accounts (total per company code)
3 = End totals sheet only (totals across all company codes)

    Recording data on microfiche
You can request information for recording on microfiche. The fixed part of the microfiche information is documented under the parameter for it. The variable part, i.e. the report-specific part, has the following structure:
    In the standard version:
    Company code                 4 characters

  • Local Currency vs Document currency

    Hi,
    I have a question,
what is the difference b/w Local Currency and Document Currency.
    Thanks,
    Pria

    HI Pria...
Local currencey is Company specific...for different companies there will be different local currency...
Document currency is related to FI...Currency in which a document is posted........
And as per SD.....Currency in which the total values in a sales and distribution document are calculated.
    As per BI....
In SAP systems, every amount key figure is stored with respect to a currency key field. There are several
types of currency keys on OLTP data. The two most important currency types are the document (or
transaction) currency (BI InfoObject 0DOC_CURRCY) and the local (or company code) currency (BI
InfoObject 0LOC_CURRCY. The document currency is entered for each posting transaction of an OLTP
document-type record (for example financial documents), whereas the local currency is uniquely assigned to a company code when the OLTP system is customized.
So, the local currency can be used as a common currency for cross-application BI reporting (that is a
common reporting currency). Besides the document currency, every record within the final InfoProviders of the BI system should contain the local currency and the corresponding amounts with respect to the local currency.

    Hi,
Firstly get the exchange rate, do the calculation using the document currency amount and populate the local currency amount field.
Whenever you use BAPI, use BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT to commit the changes.

  • Change Currency in Park Document

    Hi,
I have parked one document with currency USD, now I want to change same document from USD to SAR in FBV2. How can I change currency field, please advise!
    Regards
    VS Rao

    Hello VS RAO
It is not possible to change the currency field in a parked document
after at least one G/L account line item is entered. This is highlighted
    in SAP Note 851736
'ENJOY: Currency in parked document can be changed'.
There are a number of reasons why the currency should not be changed.
One such reason is mentioned in the SAP Note:
..'You park a cross-company code document with an Enjoy transaction. You
change the document currency in the parked document. The currency is
adjusted for the source company code only. The original currency remains
    in all other company codes....'
Only possible solution is to delete these parked documents which
    have incorrect currencies entered.
    Hope this clarifies
    Ray

  • The account has been changed from only local currency to multiple currency.

    hI,
The customer has an Account "X" which is a balance sheet account. and not a reconciliation account.
this account has been changed on November 11, 2008, from only local currency to multiple currency.
Local currency is ZAR, and document currency is EUR.
i.e, the check box 'only balance in local balance' has been unchecked from 11 Nov, 2008.
so, when i see the balance of this account in FS10N.
the balances in currency ZAR and EUR is different.
because the balance which is in EUR is only for months 11 and 12.
    so, questions are...
    1) can we make it same balance in both the currencies by posting a document only in EUR?
    2) how to clear it?
    Regards,
    Swetha

The balance in the currency (EUR) depends upon the currency exchange rates you have defined in the system.  When you post a document in another currency, the exchange rate mentioned for the currency pairs (ZAR & EUR for example) is applied and the balance is written in your local currency.  If you want that the balances in difference currencies are the same, then the exchange rates should be the same for all relevant pairs of currencies.
