Logic Studio 9.1 32 bit or 64 bit (why does audio units scan show 32 bit ?

Ok so perfectly fine with all the refinements which were needed desperately. After installing and launching Logic it reads 32 bit ? I am running 10.6.2 ..shouldn't it read 64 bit ? why the 32 bit if this is indeed 64 bit. Can anyone answer this ? thanks..

I've got the same exact situation. I did the upgrade and it says Logic 9.1 32 bit. Works fine though. Is there something that needs to be changed to make it 64 bit?

  • Why does audio cut out 10-15 minutes into iTunes movie? Using Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit

My audio cuts out in any completely downloaded iTunes movie (SD or HD) 10-15 minutes into watching it in iTunes how can I fix this?
I have to shut down iTunes completely and restart it again to get the audio to come back. 10-15 minutes later the audio disapears again.
    I am running a Windows 8.1 Professional 64-bit on a PC, 8 GB RAM, ADM Athlon II X2 265 Processor, 3.30 GHz
    Running iTunes application version 11.1.3.8
    Quicktime 7.7.4 (1680.86)
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes already.
    Any ideas?

    Hi  RonaldRenaud,
If my understanding is right, this RDP issue only occur in the connection between Windows 8.1 and Server 2008.
Please check if you have installed the update kb2984006.
To resolve this issue caused by update 2989039, install update rollup 2984006. For more information, please refer to the following KB.

  • Audio unit scanning locks up Logic

I've just installed 7.0 Pro and once it scans my AUs, it locks up on one particular one, reFX Nexus. Now I can't even open Logic. Is there any solution to this?
    Thanks

The easiest solution is to use Spotlight for finding the particular "Components" folder that contains the offending plug-in, and delete/remove it. The name will end in ".component".
Once Logic starts up again as normal, go to Logic Preferences and select "Start Logic AU Manager". Go to your dock and click/hold the AU Manager icon. Now select "Keep In Dock". This allows you to find and use AU Manager, and disable offending plug-ins without deleting them, the next time you have a similar problem.
Also, I would suggest to upgrade to the most recent version of Logic asap, if you want better stability.

  • Logic 9.1.6 hangs at start-up splashscreen "Searching for Audio Unit plug-ins (Apple:AUSpeechSynthesis) and indicates 64bit when set to 32bit

I have deleted preferences, cleared caches, repaired permissions with Disk Utility and Disk Warrior, rebuilt the directory with Disk Warrior.  There is no file on my drive called AUSpeechSynthesis, should there be?

This happened with my MacBook too. LogicExpress9. I read somewhere else that it was caused by MacKeeper?
That's correct, I believe MK has an "optimize" feature that cleans out old and/or unused files... evidently AUSpeechSynthesis is not considered a Mac file or is not in MacKeeper's list of Mac System Files. Not only that... I hear MK deletes some loops and/or instrument files... so BEWARE!

  • Why does the letter P show up when i try to record audio into Logic Pro and no audio is audible ?!

Can anyone pleaes help as I have occured this problem today and sent hours trying to fix it and not had any luck !?!?
I always record in audio by press "R" on the channel strip but today for some odd reason the letter "P" shows up and no audio is audiable ?
Can anyone tell me what's going on ............!?!?
"When I try to record in some audio and press "R" it chnages to the letter "P" and no audio is coming through ?!?"

This is because you have Punch on the fly enabled under Options (top menu)>Audio>Punch on the Fly.... signified by the letter P instead of the letter R

  • Pro Applications Update 2008-02 Update for Logic Studio Owners?

I received Compressor 3.0.3 as part of the Logic Studio 8 bundle.
Pro Applications Update 2008-02 states that it upgrades Compressor 3.0.3, however, Software Update does not offer to update Compressor nor can I download it manually since it is demanding that I provide a Final Cut Pro serial number (which I do not have, I have only the Logic Studio serial number which it won't take).
Does anyone have any idea what Logic Studio owners are supposed to do to obtain Pro Applications Update 2008-02?
    Dave

Well, I would agree except that the update specifically provides an update for Compressor 3.0.3 which Logic Studio owners have as well and the update description states that it is recommended for all Logic Studio users.
"Pro Applications Updates improve reliability for Apple's professional applications and are recommended for all users of Final Cut Studio, Final Cut Server, and Logic Studio.
Pro Applications Update 2008-02 addresses installation issues, compatibility updates, and general performance issues and improves overall stability.
    Applications included in the update:
    Final Cut Pro 6.0.4
    Compressor 3.0.3"

  • Is Apple Logic Studio 8 compatible with Digidesign mbox audio interfaces

I have a MacBook Pro 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    And I have a Mbox 1
I want to purchase Logic Studio 8, but am not sure if the mbox 1 audio interface is compatible with Logic Studio 8
Have heard rumours it doesn't work with mbox2 so i'm unsure about compatibility with mobox1
Does anyone know the score with this, please?
    Many thanks
    BLS

You can go to the Digidesign website and download their CoreAudio software for digidesign soundcards. You should also be able to check if it is compatible with your MBox1. I have a feeling that it is only MBox 2 and above compatible, but you should check to be sure.

  • Logic Studio not booting up

    Hello
This week I took my Mac Pro and upgraded it to Leopard. Now when I try to start Logic Studio the app crashes when it comes to "initializing core audio". If I hold down "ctrl" logic will boot up but I can't access the AU manager. I thought that maybe some of my plug ins could possibly be the cause of the crashes, they all worked wonderfully before.
All my software is updated. I use RME's fireface 800.
What am I supposed to do to get it to work again??

Went through all the updates and patches for all the software I use. The plug ins i dont use removed from "components" and "vst" folders. STILL NOT WORKING!!!!
I looked at the report that pops up after logic boot crashes and I saw this ...
    1 ...lemony.MelodyneRewireDevice 0x23e2befb GNMessagePort::registerMessagePortWithName(GNString*, GNData* ()(GNMessagePort, GNData*), int, int, GNDictionary*) + 315
    2 ...lemony.MelodyneRewireDevice 0x23dcdb8e GNReWire2AudioDeviceHost::create() + 172
    3 ...lemony.MelodyneRewireDevice 0x23dcbcef RWDEFOpenDevice + 89
...now I have deleted the Melodyne from my system, is it possible that its still left somewhere. I do a spotlight search for Melodyne, Rewire but nothing comes back??????
    PLEASE HEEEELLLLPPPPP

    I discovered this thread:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3765467?start=0&tstart=0
Essentially downloading the latest software update for Logic 9.1.6 fixed the problem without having to reinstall everything....

  • Logic pro x, A whole bunch of my audio units failed but worked fine a minute ago

Audio units failed message as half my audio units now will not load.
I have 32 lives and rescanned everything. Did not work.
I own the software and it was all working just fine until I loaded up a different song. Logic glitched out.
The Audio units are still checked in prefs in logic like normal.
Audio units still show up in the project but will no open.  They have a question mark. I've seen this before and was able to figure it out with one or two but not half my AU's. Something is different.
I have just loaded the update a week ago and logic was working fine.
I tried deleting my cache with anything Logic x, that did not work.
I restarted the computer several times, no luck.
HALP!!! Thank you for your time
Couldn't be at a worse time as I have a deadline tomorrow for an album I am so close to finishing.. WHY???

If you mean all plugins have this issue then...
In Logic's Prefs Audio/Devices, make sure CoreAudio is checked...
Failing that, or if only some plugins have this issue...
Are the plugins that don't work, all ones wrapped in 32lives?
Do any of Logic's own plugins rather than 3rd party ones, have this problem?

  • Logic Studio 32 bit and (AU)East West Quantum Leap Goliath 64bit Question

I have a Mac Pro 8 core Zeon Harpertown processor's. Its the latest mac Pro with 10 gigs of ram.
I also have Logic Studio 2 and Logic Express. I just purchased East West Quantum Leap Goliath.
    Here is the major Dilema:
Mac OS is 64 bit. East West is 64 bit but Logic is 32 bit.
Won't there be a problem with east west AU being run on 64 bit in a 32 bit application? East West New Engine is 64 bit so its not just the samples its alos the engine.
The only 64 bit audio sequencing software right now is Sonar. I heard it was 64 bit because of its Video module is also 64 bit.
Anyhow how is this going to work running an AU that is 64 bit in a 32 bit application?
    Thanks

Are you sure? There would be absolutely no point whatsoever in releasing a Mac 64-bit plugin, as there are no 64-bit hosts on the Mac, and likely won't be for some time. Logic isn't going fully 64-bit anytime soon.
You can't run 64-bit code in a 32-bit host, so why would they release a Mac plugin version if it was essentially unusable..? And how would they test it..?
Edit: I just looked at the press release. It says "32-bit support is also included".

  • Logic Studio 8 on a G4 dual 1.25?

I've noticed the minimum requirements for running the Logic Studio 8 bundle is a G4 1.25 with 1gig ram, but G5 or Intel processor, as well as 2gig or more of ram recommended. I'm currently running Logic Express 7.2 on a G4 dual 1.25 with 2gigs of ram in OSX 10.4.10. This machine is maxed out. I like LE 7, and was considering waiting for a price drop in pro 7 after 8 were to come out. But, with the price of the Studio 8, it seems better to go for the latest. I'm not ready to get a new machine just yet. Does anyone have any idea how Logic Pro would be on this G4 dual 1.25? I'm just wondering if the cpu could be not up to handling it. I wouldn't record more than 2 tracks at a time, and eventually be running approximately 10-20 track with various plug-ins during mixing, etc. My guess is it would depend on how many plug ins and tracks I actually use. Hmm.I thought about going with LE 8, I'm really only interested in Pro 8's plug ins (space designer, etc.) and the jam packs. LE 8 might have similar limitations on my machine as well. Any thoughts, help, feedback would be greatly appreciated. I may consider finding a soon to be discounted version of Logic Pro 7 if I might work better on my machine.

    Hey Paul,
as you don't require too much, maybe that machine will undle a little bit more. :o)
Space Designer's is heavy, if you don't abuse it, use it on the master instead of
every channel strip track. Use the freeze buttons or even bounce and import the file to free
    the processor.
In my advice go to 8 you'll have almost the same problems if you buy the pro 7 version,
and it's a "silly" move to spend money on seven when you really want the bells and wistles
of the eight version and a new machine with all the ram you can get!
    Peace,
    Jorge

  • What's the best way to (re)install Logic Studio? Need Help.

I bought Logic Studio a few months ago and installed it on my new MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz with 2G Ram, 160G hard drive @ 7200 rpm. Being new to Logic, at install, I just put all 40+ gigs of content on the computer. After a while I considered putting the Apple Loops (roughly 12gigs) onto an external hard drive to save space on my computer, just to see if it would work, then consider moving more content over later. After doing this the Logic application couldn't find the Apple Loops, and I couldn't find a way to help it see the new path, so my Apple Loops were essentially rendered useless (since I had already deleted them from the computer). So I stopped right there, and haven't done anything else. Just worked with Logic without using Loops, which I have to say is still an incredible program.
What also seemed strange was this: In moving the Apple Loops, the available disk space on the computer didn't seem to change much. It went down a few gigs, but not the 12 or so I was expecting. Not sure why that is. It seems like Logic and all the content is actually taking up around 50 gigs or so on my computer (and the Apple Loops are supposedly gone or not available). What is that about?
Feeling like I had really fouled things up, I called Apple Care. They said that the content of Logic is stored in many places in the computer's libraries and system folders, but it was really confusing trying to locate all of it, because the info they sent was from Logic 7 and older versions of GarageBand. I guess Logic 8 is too new for them to have anything on it. There is no uninstall for Logic Studio. But they strongly recommended that I perform an Erase and Install, and then re-install all my software including Logic, and then assign the hard drive I wanted the content in. That would open up a lot of the computer's hard drive space, they said. It seemed like an extreme measure to take for such a small blunder, and I haven't tried it yet, but will if it's the best option.
If I do this, is running Logic content (i.e. Loops, Impulse Responses, Jam Packs, etc.) from an external hard drive (and the one I have to use is 5400rpm--is that too slow or am I getting too picky?) the best way to go, or should I have all Logic material coming from the same machine? How do I get some of my hard drive space back?
    Ugh.
Has anyone out there experienced this too? Is there anything documented about where the content is stored for Logic Studio? Is Erase and Install really the best thing to do in this situation?
    So many questions...
    Thanks.

    Hey Blue,
Let me see if I can help you a bit.
Logic Studio has 28+ gb of loops. Almost 23 for STP and 6 for the Jam Packs, etc. They should be located in /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple (that's the default install loc.). Copy them to an external drive and then delete them from your main drive. Go to /Library/Audio/Apple Loops Indexes and delete those text files. Now go to /Library/Preferences/Soundtrack Pro and delete those text files, too (more Loop Indexes).
Now open Logic Pro and it will say 'No Apple Loops found'. Click 'OK' and then open your Loop Browser. Drag all the Jam Pack folders, STP folder, etc. that you want to use onto the Loop Browser. Logic will ask you if you want to 'Copy to Loops Folder' or 'Current Location'. Choose 'Current Location'. Logic will now index the loop folders.
NOTE: You can change the names of the folders to suit your liking. For example: I added the 2, 3, 4, 5 after the Jam Pack names to make it look smoother on the popup menu and changed iLife Sound Effects to Sound Effects - iLife and Apple Loops for STP to STP. Now the Jam Packs 1-5 come up first on the popup menu and the FX stay at the bottom. I likee!!
Now, if you like you can take your EXS Factory Samples and Ultrabeat Samples, 3.35 & .889 gb respectively, and copy them to an external drive. I have mine in the same place as my Jam Packs, etc. You can find these files in /Library/Application Support/Logic. Toss out the originals and put ALIASES from the external drive back into the /Lib/App Sup/Logic folder.
Also, if you open STP and click the Search tab in the right pane you will see a button that says 'Setup' next to it. Click that and you can use the checkboxes in the window to activate/deactivate any of the loop folders available.
A clean install is the best IMO if you have a little time because a) you DO NOT have to install GB at all (that saves the .aif file size - Logic Studio uses .caf files at half the size of the originals) b) Logic Studio will install the extra GB or Logic 7 content if you need it at it's reduced size. It will basically get rid of all the old clutter that you do not need. Only install what JP's you want and move the bigger stuff to an external.
Rock up Logic and it should all be in place. That procedure saved me 32.5 gb on my main drive.
NOTE #2: You have another 12 gb (if you installed all Jam Packs) that reside in the /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Sampler. These are the Jam Pack Instruments & Sampler files for World, Symphony, etc. They cannot be moved from the startup HD (as far as I can tell). So keep that in mind if you don't want a certain JP.
    Hope that helps,
    Dave

  • Installing Logic Studio on an iBook g3?

I recently purchased an apple i book g3 on ebay, which i plan to use specifically for creating beats and music.. and i also recently came across Apple Logic Studio 8, did some research on it, and it seems like it's just what i need.
My question is, is it a bad idea to attempt to install Logic Studio on the g3? the minimum requirements for Logic appear to be just a bit more than what my laptop has for me to work with... The iBook i purchased has 900 mhz, 40gb, mac os x 10.4 tiger, those are mainly the only specs i am worried about..
Just by looking at the numbers i would assume it may not work, but then again i read a few posts from people on other message boards, using basically the same laptop, and installing logic express without any issues.
Either way ive already paid for the laptop so i am stuck using that for a while, but i REALLY want to get my hands on Logic Studio and work with that as well.. suggestions?

    +logic 7 System Requirements:+
(pro- and express have the same sys reqs - ES)
+* Macintosh computer with *PowerPC G4* or faster processor (G5 or dual G4 processors recommended)+
    +* Mac OS X v10.3 or later+
    +* 512 MB of RAM+
    +* 4 GB of available hard-drive space+
+* PowerPC G5 and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity for Logic Node applications+
+* DVD drive for software installation+
+* Available USB port for XSKey (copy protection)+
    +* Low-latency multi-I/O audio hardware and MIDI interface recommended+
I think you should try to get an earlier Garageband (2.0.2, part of iLife '05):
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306338
    Or Logic 6:
    Minimum:

    +604/250 MHz processor+
    +128 MB RAM+
    +CD-ROM or DVD drive+
    +free USB port for XSKey+
    Recommended:
+CPU with Velocity Engine support (G4/MP)+
    +256 MB RAM or more+
+Low-latency audio hardware for software instruments+
    +Multiple I/O audio hardware for Surround+
+Separate fast hard drive for audio data+

Or, what is this problem i am having? As installation is not asking some discs which is necessary for the setup anymore .
    Did anyone experienced that ?
I will be very happy if someone can assist on me this . Since 5 hours i am trying to setup this thing .
    Thanks a lot

it is very frustrating to see such an installation problem happening from a "professional" called DAW .
I am actually a Protools user , and i have never had this type of complications .
I mean come on, i am just trying to install the thing .
On a new system, on a new computer and from an original purchase .
I believe i have enough computer knowledge to instal a simple software .
But i am spending almost 10 hours since yesterday to install Logic .
Instead of making designer boxes or giving fancy advertisements, i am inviting Apple Engineers to create proper working software .
Especially to see a professional audio software like Logic in this epic fall, is very very bad .
I mean you can say i am problematic and don't know how to instal a simple software, but than please write to google, Logic installation problems , and you will see thousands of issues .
Whatever i am writing here not against to the people who are replying and want to help , i just want Apple to read this .
Ah , i am sure Apple won't put attention on it , but doesn't matter .
You just lost 1 customer for Logic
I am erasing this thing now from my computer and continue with Protools as the way i was doing .
Sorry if i am bitter, but this is not acceptable .
