Hi,
We have a Legacy system data in BW which is about 25 million reports span across 6 years and by Fiscal year/period.
Currently data is held in 6 DSO's and its one time load to cube...data load won't happen on daily basis as legacy system is de commissioned.

Hi Choudary,
One way is as follows: Convert the update process (for 0VENDOR) to flexible update. For this you will need to make 0VENDOR an InfoProvier (RDS1 > Master data tab). Then you need to create update rules from the 0VENDOR_ATTR InfoSource to 0VENDOR InfoObject. Since you now have the 0VENDOR_ATTR InfoSource you can also create update rules from this InfoSource to your cube and load the data.

  • Error in Uploading the data in Info Cube

    Hi,
    We are implementing SCM 5.0 APO and ECC 6.0 in UK/I client.
    At the moment we are facing one problem in uploading the Excel file into Info Cube.which was working perfectly earlier.
    Through analysis, we come to know that data flows thru PSA. but  when we try to push that data from PSA manually system gives following error message;
    Runtime Errors         UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION
    Except.                CX_RSR_X_MESSAGE
    What happened?                                                                                |
    |    The exception 'CX_RSR_X_MESSAGE' was raised, but it was not caught anywhere along the call hierarchy.                                                                               
    Since exceptions represent error situations and this error was not

    Hi Jignesh,
                      I this the first time you are loading into the cube? Is it the a fresh installation?
    The error message doesn't help you much but I would try a couple of things
    1. Replicate the datasources in source system, Activate the transfer and update rules and then try to load
    2. Try loading only till the PSA and then try to simulate the update to cube. If you are using  BI 7.0, then just load the info package, it will load to PSA and unless you run the DTP, it doesnot update the cube.
    3. This can also be a GUI issue. Make sure that you have all the GUI files installed. Is it a dump with message "CX_RSR_X_MESSAGE"?

  • Loading data from Info cube to PA

    Hi All,
    I am trying to load the CVC from Infocube to Planning Area in Development environment.
    I am getting error message for mismatch of periodicity of infocube and Planning Area.
    how to resolve this. Where do we define the periodicty of infocube ? I don't think so ?

    Prabhat,
    I understand that you already have the data in the infocube and want to load it into the planning area.
    However it is important to ensure that the data in the cube and the planning area have the same periodicity failing which we will run into such issues.
    So pls go back to the step of defining the infocube.
    In RSA1 if you double click on the infocube name which you are using as source, you can see the details in the right. In that, look for the dimensions section, under that look for the time section. If that contains a calweek or a calmonth and you are using a fiscal variant, this issue occurs.
    You have to drop your infocube data, redefine the cube to use FISCAL PERIOD and FISCAL VARNT instead of calweek or calmonth and then load the data back again. You need to ensure you populate the fields FISCAL PERIOD and FISCAL VARNT. You might want to do that with routines in your update rules or your infosource communication structure. REmember to activate the entire structure from cube to data source.
    Once you load the data into the cube with the new setting, and then try to copy the data into planning area, it will be successful.
    To answer your other question. Yes Time Characteristics is necessary for loading data between cube and planning area.

  • The data back up to info cube

    i have created PA, also created a Time series for the PA.  and then created PB, DV.
    Now i want to add a KF to  the PA. How??
    if i deactivate the planning area i will loose the time series data.
    then how i can back up the time series data to infocube. What is the path and procedure to back up the time series data to INfo cube??

    HI,
    If you are on SCM5.1 or above i guess it is not requried to de-intiaze the planning area.
    IF it is SCM 4.1 or below, we need to de-initilise the planning area as you expected.
    Assuming you are in 4.1 or lower version,
    As i understand from your words, you have created a plannign area newly, so, there will be no Data source generated on it.
    To take the backup, we need to have a backup cube and the data source generated for the planning area.
    With out taking help of BW team you can do this yourself from Planning area,
    Goto MSDP_ADMIN and from the menu goto Extras and choose Generate Datasource to generate DS and use the other option Data extraction tools to create a cube. please refer the SAP HELP for more detail steps.
    Once the infocube is ready for backup,
    1. Take the backup and do the basic validation agianst planning area data.
    2. De-Inialise the planning area and add the keyfigure to planning area
    3. Create the timeseris agian and do the consistency check
    4. Load back the data to planning area using /SAPAPO/TSCUBE

  • Regarding Info cube and DSO

    Hi,
    Generally reporting will be done on Info Cube rather than DSO.
    Suppose If we assign the same data source to Info Cube and DSO then both contains the same data.
    Info cube have additive and aggregated functionality where DSO have the overwrite functionality .
    Are we using cube for this functionality only ?
    What about the Dimensions in Cube how they differ from data fields and key fields in DSO when we are developing same Bex Report on both ?
    Please advice me .

    It is hard to compare Cube and DSO.
    Both thier own usage.
    1. InfoCube is always additive, while DSO supports overwrite functionality.
    2. In InfoCube, combination of all the characteristic value is a Key in the Fact Table, while in ODS, you can specify your own Key Fields based on which you want to generate unique record in the DSO.
    3. DSO supports many delta modes like D, R, N, X, after image, before image, while cube does not support all the modes. You can not delete the record based on the key from the cube by just loading the data. While DSO automaitcally deletes the record from active table and generates the reverse entry for Cube.
    4. DSO is a flat structure and therefore, it is used to store information at detail level, while cube is used to store information at aggregated level.
    So both the structures are very much different from each other. One can replace other at some places, but both the objects have thier own functionality.

  • Deleting the latest request from info cube.

    Hi All,
    In our project, we have data from May 2012 to till date. Data is freezed and there is no change of data till May 2014. And there is change in data for current month only ie) June 2014. So i have pulled the full load from May 2012 to May 2014 and loaded in the Info cube.
    I am deleting the current month data and loading only the current month data to Info Cube. So i want to delete the current request in the info cube before loading and load only the current month data.
    Can you pls guide me how to achieve this through Process chain. I am unable to identify which process type will suit my requirement.

    As mentioned by you, that there is no change in data from May 2012 to May 2014, you can keep the request which contains this data(for Example Req1). If Request2 contains data from May 2012 to June 2014 then you need to delete this request i.e Req2 and load only data for June 2014. Later you can follow below mentioned process.
    Now coming to option which you are looking for process type to achieve this via process chain, there is a process variant called "Delete Overlapping Request", which is used to delete data from the target based on certain condition depending requirement.
    Hope this resolves your issue. Below document explains steps to achieve the same.

    when i am loading data to info cube in bi 7.0 i am getting an error no sid foud for value ' 00000 ' of chareteristic 0currency

    Each record in your incoming data source ( if the key figure is of type currency) should have a valid curr.
    Looks like you are loading from a file. PL make sure you have valid curr in every record and then reload.

    While checking data in info cube level using traction listcube  and selecting info objects and keyfigure for output and also selecting setting tab under 3 checkboxs while executing the info cube ,we are getting error message line  Error reading the data of InfoProvider ZPL_SC01and Message no. DBMAN305 our info provide having  the BIA indexes.

      I have a query on designing the Cube.
    My Requirement :
    I have Standard ODS and the keyfigures in ODS are
    1. Service Order Number.
    2. User Status.
    3. User Date.
    4. User Time
    Data field in ODS is
    1. Active Flag.
    Active flag gives the information of the current status for each service Order.
    User Status is the status of each service Order.
    User Date and User time gives the information about at what time date and time, the
    status is set.Right now the history of data is available in ODS.
    Sample data in ODS.

    In my report i want to show only the service Order which is in Closed Status and also Active Flag =A only. Due to Overwrite option, i am getting only one Active Status.If i create a report on ODS, i am getting the right data and it is working fine.I have filter with ACTIVE FLAG =A and in report it is showing only the Active Status of the service Order.
    Suppose if i load the same data to the Cube, I cant get the expected one.

  • Release of History from Info Cube to Planning Area

    Hi Experts,
    I am using program /SAPAPO/RTSINPUT_CUBE to load sales history data from Info Cube to Planning area. Most of the data gets loaded but for few CVCs we get following message: -
    549 combinationens of InfoCube are not contained in the BasisPlobStru
    While checking up these CVCs in transaction /SAPAPO/MC62 and Planning Book I can see that these CVC exist and data is also visible.
    Could anyone please help me out with the reason and what should be done to encounter this.

    First of sincere apologies for not having read the query completely.
    regarding your query on 549 combinationens of InfoCube are not contained in the BasisPlobStru, as you have stated that the CVCs exist in the MPOS.
    But can you please check if the CVCs maintained in the MPOS are the exact CVCs that are mentioned in the messgae. For example, the message is for location product sales org Country. Can you check if the CVC exists for this combination for which the forecast is being loaded from the source? For example it is possible that data is being loaded for Loc1 Prod1 SalesOrg1 Country1, but the CVC exists for Loc1 Prod1 SalesOrg2 Country1, then such message appears.
    So can you check if the exact CVCs are exisitng in the MPOS as indicated in the messages?

    I want to do it per fiscal year. If we create 05 cubes(Same structure) each for say fiscal year 04' 05'...08'
    now how will the data flow into respective cubes.

    1.Partitioning the cube in both physical and logical way helps you to increase its performance on Queriying.
    Partitioning InfoCubes Using the Characteristic 0FISCPER (At Infocube maintainance)
    Prerequisites
    When partitioning using 0FISCPER values, values are calculated within the partitioning interval that you specified in the InfoCube maintenance. To do this, the value for 0FISCVARNT must be known at the time of partitioning; it must be set to constant.
    Procedure
    1. The InfoCube maintenance is displayed. Set the value for the 0FISCVARNT characteristic to constant. Carry out the following steps:
    a. Choose the Time Characteristics tab page.
    b. In the context menu of the dimension folder, choose Object specific InfoObject properties.
    c. Specify a constant for the characteristic 0FISCVARNT. Choose Continue.
    2. Choose Extras -->DB Performance --> Partitioning. The Determine Partitioning Conditions dialog box appears. You can now select the 0FISCPER characteristic under Slctn. Choose Continue.
    3. The Value Range (Partitioning Condition) dialog box appears. Enter the required data.

    How is data stored in DSO and Infocube
    InfoCubes are made up of a number of InfoObjects. All InfoObjects (characteristics and key figures) are available independent of the InfoCube. Characteristics refer to master data with their attributes and text descriptions.
    An InfoCube consists of several InfoObjects and is structured according to the star schema. This means there is a (large) fact table that contains the key figures for the InfoCube, as well as several (smaller) dimension tables which surround it. The characteristics of the InfoCube are stored in these dimensions.
    An InfoCube fact table only contains key figures, in contrast to a DataStore object, whose data part can also contain characteristics. The characteristics of an InfoCube are stored in its dimensions.
    The dimensions and the fact table are linked to one another using abstract identification numbers (dimension IDs) which are contained in the key part of the particular database table. As a result, the key figures of the InfoCube relate to the characteristics of the dimension. The characteristics determine the granularity (the degree of detail) at which the key figures are stored in the InfoCube.
    Characteristics that logically belong together (for example, district and area belong to the regional dimension) are grouped together in a dimension. By adhering to this design criterion, dimensions are to a large extent independent of each other, and dimension tables remain small with regards to data volume. This is beneficial in terms of performance. This InfoCube structure is optimized for data analysis.
    The fact table and dimension tables are both relational database tables.
    Characteristics refer to the master data with their attributes and text descriptions. All InfoObjects (characteristics with their master data as well as key figures) are available for all InfoCubes, unlike dimensions, which represent the specific organizational form of characteristics in one InfoCube.

    My query is built on multiprovider. The data flow is data source u2013 ODS then ODS u2013 Info cube and multiprovider contains  Info cube only.
    Data in ODS, Info cube ans Multiprovider(List cube) are in Sync.
    The query results are not tie up ODS, Info cube ans Multiprovider(List cube).
    Any one let me know why this is happening and how do I resolve it.
