Longer duration of 'Execution phase is beginning' in transformation DFT.

Hello All,
We have one task in our package for the transformation. We see that task gets stuck in "Execute is Phase is beginning".
Sometimes this takes 3hrs to go forward and do the OLE DB Commit. but always takes min. of 2hrs.
We also have one more issue here, this task only takes time during the weekend run of ETL, when record count is more.
say, weekday record count is :9k, executes in 2mins. but during the weekends record count is 60k and it takes 2-3 hrs.

DFT_LOAD_SRC_TASK:Information: Execute phase is beginning.
Kindly help us to fix this issue.
Thanks,
SANDY

Hi Arthur,
The task pulls the SQL Database, and we have some conversions, and copies the data to the other table.
When we execute the same query through SSMS, it executes in no time, less than 10secs. The issue is only happening during the weekend job run where data more compared to normal days.
Nope, we do not have any parallel job running on this database, as tasks are all sequential.
Sandy
It could be the parameter sniffing or the ARITHABORT ON that is on in SSMS but off in your connection.

  • Pre-Execution phase is beginning running for more than an hour

    Hi guys,
I am trying to pull data from MSSQL Server 2000 (has over 400 Million rows of data) into MSSQL 2012 using SSIS (using the SQL Command Access Mode).
For over an hour I started running the package, it was just showing Pre-Exectuing Phase is Beginning...
Please want can I do to stop this.
N/B: I tried using the Table or View Access Mode and it started running.
    Thanks
    me

I have found what the issue is.
I added with (NOLOCK) in my query and it has moved to Execution Phase not.

    Regards,
    Balaji.P

    Hi Balaji,
    In SAP Note 601757 - Error upgrading from Release 2.0C, 3.0, 3.1, 3.5 to CRM 4.0
, I have found the below lines.
"If you do not execute the report before the upgrade, 'DUPLICATE KEY' errors occur during the upgrade of the COMC_ATTRIBUTE table. Up to now, this was observed in the SHADOW_IMPORT_INC phase. In this case, you must delete the UNI secondary index from the COMC_ATTRIBUTE table manually. You can then continue the upgrade by repeating the phase."

    Hi all,
problem wes caused by shared folders for my virtual PC machine. I have to remove shared folders.

  • CFSTKE* Queues with few entries executing for long durations  (10 hrs)

In APO 7.0 the CFSTKE* Queues with few entries executing for long durations  (10 hrs)
Below are the FM from the queue
    /SAPAPO/CIF_IRQ_REDUCT_INBOUND
    /SAPAPO/CIF_STOCK_INBOUND
    /SAPAPO/CIF_SL_DOC_INBOUND
    /SAPAPO/CIF_SL_DOC_INBOUND
Do any one have the same problem and any fixes ?
    Thank You

    Hi Aravind,
What is the status of your queue:
Is it in status running, ready or sysfail?
If it is in "Running" status since last 10 hours then check the following things:
Check SM51 and see if you find a long running process, see if it is trying to do a sequential read on some table.
If yes then ask your Basis team to run ST04 and see what index it is using,
If that is also fine then ask them to check stat on that table.
Builiding stat may help if a read on table is taking long time and index which is being picked up is correct.
Your basis team should be able to help you.
    I hope it helps.
    Thanks,
    Anupam

  • Long duration time extraction BKPF table

I have access to SAP R/3 on a Oracle database.
For one object GL Open Items I need to extract all required data from 2 tables BSIS and BKPF. (=select all open items of required G/L Accounts)
    Selection Criteria as follows:
step 1:Select BSIS records on MANDT, BUKRS and HKONT (from a list of GL Accounts).
    step 2:Select BKPF records where:
    - BSIS-MANDT=BKPF-MANDT
    - BSIS-BUKRS=BKPF-BUKRS
    - BSIS-GJAHR=BKPF-GJAHR
    - BSIS-BELNR=BKPF-BELNR
I have used SQL statements in order to get the data out of SAP but this will lead to an enormous long duration time, caused by the BKPF table. Therefore I need to improve my performance of BKPF.
Do you have a solution in how to fasten the BKPF data extraction? (other tooling/special code written, etc.)?  SQL tooling is not a must!
    Thanks

  • Preprocessing phase and Execution phase of DMO

    Hi experts,
    I have a question.
Please tell me whether my understanding of DMO procedure steps of Preprocessing phase and Execution phase is right.
    I think as below.
      Phase
      sequence
      Steps
      whether users can
log on SAP system or can not
      whether
application data is able to be changed or not
      Uptime or
      Downtime
      Preprocessing
      1
      Creating Shadow
      instance
      Users can log on
      ERP
      Application data
      is able to be changed
      Uptime
      2
      Creating Shadow
      repository
      Users can log on
      ERP
      Application data
is not be able to be changed
      Uptime
      3
      Migration
      repository
      Users can log on
      ERP
      Application data
is not be able to be changed
      Uptime
      Execution
      4
      Migration
      application data
      Users can not log
      on ERP
      Application data
is not be able to be changed
      Downtime
When creating shadow instance, users can log on SAP system and can change application data.
When creating shadow repository, user can log on SAP system but can not change application data.
Both when creating shadow instance and creating shadow repository ,users can log on SAP system.
So Preprocessing phase is uptime .
    Is that right ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Kazuki

    Hi Kazuki,
The the EXECUTION phase denotes the start of Downtime.

  • User Event Case getting tied up for long duration in LV 2009 (with SP1)?

Quick question here...is there any decent reason the user event case is getting tied up for long durations in LV 2009.SP1?  In 8.5 I never had an issue with my code doing this, though when converting to 2009.SP1 I am running into huge lock-up issues with the user event case.

I have not seen aby issues...
You are saying that the code from LV8.5 (unmodified) behaves differently in LV2009 SP1?
    Can you post your code?

    Hi ,
the performance can be improved thru many ways..
First try to select based on the key fields if it is a very large table.
if not then create a Secondary index for selection.
dont perform selects inside a loop , instead do FOR ALL ENTRIES IN
try to perform may operations in one loop rather than calling different loops on the same internal table..
All these above and many more steps can be implemented to improve the performance.
Need to look into your code, how it can be improved in your case...

  • Long time for execution for scheduled CIF background jobs

    Hi,
we hv schedlued CIF background job to be run daily around 10.30 PST.
there is large variation for the time required for execution of this job.
on 26 Dec, it took approx 48000 seconds while regular average is 120 seconds only.
today, despite past of 6000 seconds, the job is still in ACTIVE stage.
can anyone know why such long delay for such jobs?
how can i reduce its execution time (as one of case in a week)?
    rgds/Jay

    Hi Jay,
A few obvious things to look for:
    1.  Multiple CIF activation jobs running at the same time
    2.  Large change in the master data, eg new plant, new Material Masters, new customers, etc etc.
    3.  Conflicts with other non CIF programs that may be going after the same data
    4.  Communication degradation between the OLTP and SCM clients
Normally you refer such questions to someone on your Basis team, or perhaps your DBA.  They can turn on tracing tools that can track the changes in your environment that may be contributing to the changes in run time.
