LSMW - Materials

I want to migrate material data to R/3 using LSMW. The other views like basic data, sales or purchasing went alright. However when i want to do the same for general plant data/storage 1 and 2 it doesn t work.I´m trying to create R/3 material master data with LSMW tool.
In LSMW, when i'm displaying the record for Basic Data it appears:
MM01 Create Materials
-SAPLMGMM 0600 (with the industy sector and the material type)
-SAPLMGMM 0070 ( with X for the selected views)
BDC_CURSOR - MSICHTAL
BDC_OKCODE - =ENTR
MSICHTAUSW-KZSEL(01) - X
MSICHTAUSW-KZSEL(02) - X
-SAPLMGMM 4004 (with the items for basic data)
However, When i'm displaying the record for General Plant Data/Storager it appears:
MM01 Create Materials
-SAPLMGMM 0600 (with the industy sector and the material type)
-SAPLMGMM 0070
BDC_CURSOR - MSICHTAUSW-DYTXT(01)
BDC_OKCODE - /00
-SAPLMGMM 0070
BDC_CURSOR - MSICHTAUSW-DYTXT(01)
BDC_OKCODE - /00
-SAPLMGMM 0070
BDC_CURSOR - MSICHTAUSW-DYTXT(01)
BDC_OKCODE - /00
-SAPLMGMM 0070
BDC_CURSOR - MSICHTAUSW-DYTXT(01)
BDC_OKCODE - /00
-SAPLMGMM 0070
BDC_CURSOR - MSICHTAUSW-DYTXT(01)
BDC_OKCODE - /00
-SAPLMGMM 0070
BDC_CURSOR - MSICHTAUSW-DYTXT(15)
BDC_OKCODE - =ENTR
MSICHTAUSW-KZSEL(01) - X
MSICHTAUSW-KZSEL(02) - X
-SAPLMGMM 4004 (with the items for basic data)
I think the problem is that it´s recording when i´m sliding down the screen and that´s why when i m running the batch imput session, exactly on the Create Material (Initial Screen) it appears the error message "Select at least one view".
What do you think?
Cheers,
Joã

Hi,
In your recording change the name of the reference Material field as MATNR_01 and plant as WERKS_01, and the same change to be done in the Source fields too,
The reason for such change is that when you extend a material referening to another at a different plant, there are two Material code and plant getting updated in the recording with the same table name as MATNR and WERKS, hence you need to differentiate the same in the recording and also in source field mappings.

  • LSMW recording for different numbers of materials

    Dear all,
In the LSMW recording-trcode at VBO1- I enter material codes. But the number of  material codes are changeble. For instance for a customer I can enter 5 material codes; for another customer I can enter 12 material codes. For this reason,
I created recording template for 15 materials.
When I run the LSMW it gives errror. because I entered 3 material for a spesific customer. It wants other 12 material codes.
    As result;
How can I create a template for various numbers of materials?
    For example
customer1 I want to run LSMW for  3 materials
customer2 I want to run LSMW for  5 materials.
    Thanks

    Hi
I am not exactly sure of the problem, but you have 15 material columns refering to the line items possible in ALL sales orders/contracts.  Ensure that you have a ZERO in the colomns not being posted to.  The zero in Excel has to set to text I think, but check the SDN for further on that matter.  When you save as a text file, or CSV file, open it with wordpad.  You should see the 0 there, if not search SDN.
Something else you can do is the have the field names that become you source field in the LSMW.  See Maintain source fields in the LSMW.  Use the field names that you have given there as the excel file's header line.  i.e.  line 'A'.  When you select your file to be loaded under 'specify fields', tick the box : - Field names at start of file.
It will then only take the amounts that are there and not put the amount in the next place.  I am not sure with recording in SD, but record the item numbers from a static 10,20,30,40,50 .....ETC TO 150.  Then have source fields for all 15 line items.
You could have another material created as a non-valuated material and so it won't post anywhere.  Add this material where necessary.
    Hope this is of help
    Kind regards

  • Load of materials with SXDB and LSMW

    Hi everyone,
I want to know which object in SXDB and in LSMW can I use to load materials to SAP (new materials using the transaction MM01). I have done it creating a recording for a batch input, but I want to use a standard object in SXDB if there is one, or in LSMW.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Fidel

    Thanks Samir,
I saw the documentation of the program RMDATIND and it says that is used for testing. that I should use for productive data the  program RBMVSHOW (transaction BMV0).
Can I still use the SXDB?. The program RBMVSHOW doesn't appear in Q/A (SXDB).
Can I used the RMDATIND anyways if my productive data is below 10,000.
    Regards,
    Fidel

  • Component Allocation LSMW not working for materials having alternative BOMs

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement in Component allocation LSMW.
Component Allocation LSMW was created using a material which do not have an alternative BOM and the LSMW NOT working for materials having alternative BOMs. Currently iam using Batch Input Recording method in LSMW.Can any one suggest me is it possible by recording method in Lsmw. Because in transaction CA02 when we click the CompAlloc button in application tool bar we get a pop up screen with alternative BOM's, we have to choose any of them. If we choose any of the alternatie BOM in the pop up screen then it will be fixed always, but depending upon my flat file value of alternate BOM i need to pick the value. It is not static.
Can any one suggest me is there any BAPI for this requirement.
Your hel will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Venkat.

Use BDC instead of LSMW, that will solve your problem.

  • MM LSMW extending materials to new plant

    Hi Experts,
I got a requirement, where I need to create a LSMW for extending the materials for a new plant. Should I use MM01 or MM02 Direct Input Method of LSMW(RMDATIND). Kindly help me with this.
    Regards,
    Riya

why dont you try it yourself manually before you try to do it with a load program.
Just execute MM02 in your system and try to extend it to a new plant, you will immediatly have your answer.
Change: you can only change what exists
Create: you create something that does not exist.
Can you change the plant data that does not yet exist in material master?

  • LSMW for extending materials to new set of plants

    Hello All,
Our requirement is to extend some hundreds of materials to a set of few plants. Can this be done in LSMW? Or should BDC be used??
    Please elaborate on this.
    Regards
    Mahesh

    Hi Girish,
How can I extend materials to a new plant and Sales Org.  through LSMW?
I use the Standard Batch Object 0020, program RMDATIND for creating new Materials the first time (this qworks fine), but there is no option 'Extend to existing material'  or there is no field called Reference Material...
Maybe it is because we use internal numbering of the new Materials that makes it unpossible to extend materials to existing material-numbers?
    Thank you, regards, Walter.

  • MB1C via LSMW for Serialized Materials not loading all Items

    Dear Experts,
I am using LSMW to load initial entry of materials with serial numbers using Tcode MB1C. The challenge i am having is that not more than three(3) of the serials get uploaded the remaining are not loaded. I have items that have varying quantities. What could be responsible for this?

    Hi,
Insted of LSMW  make a abap program using   'BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE'  it is simple and works properly.

  • LSMW TAX classification for materials

    Hi!
I read a lot of threads concerning these topic, but I couldn't solve my problem.
I have more than one tax classifications from different countries for one material. However I don't know, where I should enter the data cause it's just possible to enter one country in BMMH2.
Until now, I mapped the data to the fields TAXM1...TAXM9 of BMMH1.
The result of the Direct Input: "You have not fully maintained the tax classifications"
I guess, it's not necessary  to map to TATY1..TATY9 of BMMH1. Right?
Nevertheless,  with and without these fields mapped, the message is the same.
..and should I map the same fields also in BMMH2?
I tried it, but without any effects!
Should I enter different countries in separate data sets?
Tax classification data consist of TAXM1..9 and TATY1..9
    Which fields are also necessary?
    Thanks in advance!
    Michael Kuehne

    @Murugesh
Thanks a lot for your affort!
I checked my lsmw project concerning your points and did some corrections.
However, something is still wrong in my lsmw.
    - tax classification of just one country in BMMH1: works;no errors
    - tax classiification of just one conutry in BMMH2 and no tax classification in BMMH1:
-- read data: correct; no errors
-- conversion of the data: correct; no errors
-- throws an exception during the check against the customizing in lsmw
-- Direct Input: failed: "You have not fully maintained the tax classifications"
The converted data is 100 percent correct, for this reason the failed direct input is a bit strange to me.
My there's an option in the customizing, that's not possible to set more than one country the tax classification of the materials.
Do you know an option like this?
The exception during customizing check is also a bad signal.
I am running out of idea, what could be wrong.
Maybe I should create a new object in lsmw and try it again.
    thanks in advance
    kind regards
    michael

  • Help on LSMW for extending materials to storage location

    Hi Friends,
Please guide me with steps in LSMW to extend material master data to different storage location with same plant using tcode MMSC.
    Thanks in advance
    Smitha

You should not do LSMW on MMSC, this does not make much sense.
Use standard given mateial master import procedures, like BAPI, which is the easiest procedure to create just one view.
By the way, you can do it easily with MM17, except you have to maintain individual values líke bin description.

  • LSMW for AFS materials

    Hi
Iam trying to load AFS material data thru LSMW ..and iam successfully loaded the AFS specific data.
But when iam trying to create or update the AFS Valuation data,,,The standard price is not created or updated with price control field...Both fields are greyed out on the screen, but LSMW has the structure J_3ADI5 which has all the fields in AFS valuation to create, for some reason its not creating/updating....
there is a separate transaction to update or create the price but i wanted to do with LSMW.
Can anybody has an idea or did this before

I dont know AFS, but I know that SAP does not allow to change valuation price of standard material master after it was used, not even with MM02 transaction.
the reason is that the material master programs are there to create the master data, but price changes are transaction data where at least a price change document is to be created and dependend on stock situation as well an accounting document.
Can you update the  the price with the usual maintenance transaction manually for your AFS material?

  • LSMW to update only one field in materials

    Hello experts,
My requirement is to update only one field 'HRKFT-Origin Group as Subdivision of Cost Element' in material using LSMW. I tried with Standard Batch/Direct Input -> Object - 0020, Method - 0000. But it was not successful as it gave me warning - 'The material cannot be maintained since no maintainable data transferred' at the end.
Now I want to try this using BAPI method in LSMW. But it is showing me error - No target structures could be determined..
    Please guide me.
    Regards,
    Aparna Gaikwad

    Hi
i tried the same and am able to do it using LSMW Batch i/p.  Object - 0020, Method - 0000.
There in source fields define material, plant and origin grp. in structure relations map the below
BGR00 Batch Input Structure for Session Data                       <<<< MBEW1 Material COsting
          Select Target Structure BGR00 .
BMM00 Material Master: Transaction Data for Batch Input            <<<< MBEW1 Material COsting
              Select Target Structure BMM00 .
BMMH1 Material Master: Transfer of Main Data                       <<<< MBEW1 Material COsting
Next in field mapping map those 3 fields: material, plant and origin grp.
while testing do one thing. first take the data and try the same using MM02 manually. if tht is working fine ( i mean if the material is having costing view and you are able to chnage the origin group). then test with the same material, plant and a different origin grp. It will work.

  • I have uploaded Material Master thr LSMW but Materials are not saved.

    Hi
i have uploaded  Material Master through LSMW but unfortunetly Matreials are not saved in system.

    Hi
Check first with one record you are able to create the material Manually by using tcode MM01.
Or Rerun the batch Input in Foreground mode so that you can see the error or whether Materila no is created
I do not think so any test mode in Batch Input session.
Check the Log in SM35 for your session if you have any error messages.
    Hope it helps

  • Export materials master data using LSMW?

    Hello gurus,
is it possible to export material master data using LSMW? Or are there other ways to do this (apart from manually selecting the desired data from the DB tables?)
It would be great if anyone could point me to some documentation on this.
We would like to export the master data from one SAP system and import it in another one.
    Thanks in advance
    Alicia

What I usually do is transferring the data via ALE (BD10) as IDOC to a file (instead of a different system). This file can even be located in an shared folder that can be accessed from both SAP systems
Then I use LSMW in target system, map IDOC to IDOC (almost done automatically) and import the data from this file, and beeing able to exchange field values if necessary.

  • Message with IDOC number, created by LSMW, missing in job log in SM37

    Hi gurus,
We have a temporary interface which uses LSMW to create IDOCs and update in SAP. It's used for materials, BOMs and document info records. In LSMW we have defined standard message types MATMAS_BAPI, BOMMAT and DOCUMENT_LOAD for the IDOCs. All these have the same problem.
A background job runs and starts LSMW. In the job log in SM37 I want to see which IDOCs were created. For some reason this is different in my development system and my test system, and as far as I know all settings should be the same. In the test system LSMW creates more message lines in the job log, than it does in the dev system. Message number E0-097 is "IDOC XXXX added", and this is missing in the dev system.
This is what it looks like in the dev system:
Data transfer started for object 'MATMAS' (project 'X', subobject 'Y')             /SAPDMC/LSMW   501    I
    Import program executed successfully                                                             /SAPDMC/LSMW   509    I
    File 'XXX.lsmw.read' exists                                                                               /SAPDMC/LSMW   502    I
    Conversion program executed successfully                                                    /SAPDMC/LSMW   513    I
Data transfer terminated for object 'MATMAS' (project 'X', subproject 'Y')       /SAPDMC/LSMW  516    I
And this is what it looks like in the test system. More information, which is exactly what I want in dev system too:
Data transfer started for object 'MATMAS' (project 'X', subobject 'Y')             /SAPDMC/LSMW   501    I
    Import program executed successfully                                                             /SAPDMC/LSMW  509    I
    File 'XXX.lsmw.read' exists                                                                               /SAPDMC/LSMW  502    I
    Conversion program executed successfully                                                    /SAPDMC/LSMW  513    I
    File 'XXX.lsmw.conv' exists                                                                              /SAPDMC/LSMW   502   I
    IDoc '0000000002489289' added                                                                      E0                         097   S
    File 'XXX.lsmw.conv' transferred for IDoc generation                                      /SAPDMC/LSMW   812   I
Data transfer terminated for object 'MATMAS' (project 'X', subproject 'Y')      /SAPDMC/LSMW   516   I
In both cases the IDOC is created and update works fine.
My only issue is that I can't see the IDOC number in the dev system. I know I can get the IDOC number in WE02, but in this case we have program logic which reads the job log to be able to check IDOC status before sending OK message back to the other side of the interface.
I hope any of you can have an idea how I can update somewhere to get message E0-097 with IDOC number into the log.
    Regards,
    Lisbeth

    Hi Arun,
If you want to show your messages in the job log you have to use the MESSAGE statement. In case you use WRITE statements an output list be created which can be found in the spool (there is an icon to go to the spool directly).
    Regards,
    John.
