LSO - Manage Participation
In MSS (Manager Self Service), Manager cannot book employees when the optimum no. of attendees has been reached. Should be able to book until the maximum has been reached.
How this can be taken care of through configuration?
I already saw a screenprint of how the application should look like. On the screenprint the field: participant shows the possiblity to call up a selection screen. This is missing in our application. Does anyone have a clue?

In Manager Self Service (MSS), I can see courses that occurred in the past when I view the catalogue..... I should only see future events as the manager.
What configuration is required for this?
Also, I can also successfully book employees onto a course that occurred in the past. This should not be allowed.Please check SAP Notes

LSO_MSS Manage Participation Employee Name is missing
Helo All,
I am facing a strange problem in LSO.
When Manager access the Manage Participation iview, Under Direct Reportees, we could see Object Type as P, Position and Org Unit.
But Employee name is missing. Instead of Name dot(.) is displayed.
I checked his roles and authorisataions. everything looks ok for me, and i also checked with other managers login, all others are able to see name of the employee.
That will be great, if you can provide me your inputs.

Batch job to follow up WBT participation in LSO (confirm participation)
Hi,
We are finding a lot of our users in LSO are neglecting to click on "Confirm Participation" in the Learning Portal after successfully completing their web-based training.
Of course, this means that the course remains in their "current" training activities area and most importantly, this means that the qualification related to this course type is not imparted.
Due to this, we are looking at setting up a batch job to run nightly. This job will look for situations where a person has successfully completed eLearning but neglects to confirm participation. In these cases, the system will confirm participation for them.
What is the best way to make this happen?

"Our WBT courses do not get followed up at all in the new standard way."
We experienced this as well after implementing the solution in note 1796928. The cause of our problem turned out to be a missing authorization on the user account we use to run the web content player. In our case, the user had no read authority for infotype 1001 so function LSO_LA_SAVE_LEARNINFO_C never made the call to function ZLSO_IF_AUTO_CONFIRM.
To discover the cause, we needed to debug function LSO_LA_SAVE_LEARNINFO_C, however since it runs in a separate task we couldn't debug directly.
To get around this, we added messages of type X at various points in the function's enhancement code. This forced the function to dump at runtime, and we then looked at the runtime error log to see the contents of the dump message. This enabled us to find the problem. Maybe you could try this same debug-via-dump approach to identify the source of your problem.
Another thing to check is that users have authorization object P_LSO_FOUP.
I also want to mention that as part of our implementation, we made the same enhancement to function LSO_CP_WRITE_SCORMDATA as was made to function LSO_LA_SAVE_LEARNINFO_C so that function LSO_CP_WRITE_SCORMDATA also calls function ZLSO_IF_AUTO_CONFIRM.

Instructor Tutor Portal is utilized by users which are designated as Instructors or Tutors on the course event. This role allows designated instructors/tutors to manage participation such as add, cancel, and replace learners in a course event. It also allows the management of course follow-up for courses which they are designated instructor. Here Instructors can confirm participation, rate participants, and follow-up participation.
If you are using Virtual Learning Rooms (Adobe connect), the Instructor Portal will allow your instructors to manage the VLR's and launch VLR's for training.
If courses are not showing up on Instructor Portal make sure the person is identified as an Instructor/Tutor on the course type and course event.

Sorry, this is not provided in standard but you can fulfill reqt. by implementation of BADI 'LSO_CANCELREASONS_C' and bring all cancellation reasons in MSS. Hope this will help you.

Issue in direct reportees for manager in MSS Team
Hi all,
I have configured my system according to the document Manager Self-Service (MSS) - MSS team view, managers who do not hold chief position prepared by Mohsin Syed .
In MSS-> Team -> Employee information I am getting the direct employees even the manager is not chief.
But my problem is same manager cannot see the direct reportes in other places say : attendance overview , employee course assignments-> manage participants etc..
see the screenshots : In the same page, no direct reporting employee for attendance over view , but there is for Team calendar.
For the same manager, if he try to book for training, there is no direct reportees.
What I have missed ..please guide me what to do..

In the Table TWPC_DAATAVWGRP, I have created the new entry 'MSS_LAV_EE1. Assigned to group of Data views in "MSS_LAV_EE_DIR1".
Then in Object and Data Provider -> Organizational Structure Views -> Group Organizational Structure Views,
MSS_LAV_EE -> Assign Organizational view , I have added 1 more entry MSS_LAV_EE_DIR1(Direct Reports)
Then In NWBC I have got a new option Direct Reports and under that I have got 1 person as Absent. but 2 person at work is not showing. Actually there are 3 direct reportees to him.
this is 1 concern
Under Working time->Attendance overview->Select Employees, it is like this :
1 more thing.
Under MSS-> Team-> Employee course Assignments-> Manage Participants : For manager who is Chief can see all direct reportees and book training for them.
For manager who is not chief are not getting the direct reportees so that he cannot book training for them.
If I can retrieve the direct reportees here, then all issues are solved.
Kindly help me with what changes I have to make in system.

What is the role of a Security Consultant in an SAP implementation Project and the stages in which he is involved?Hello Mohammed,
The role of a Security consultant in any SAP product implementation (not just GRC) is wide enough and it's hard for anyone to sum up on a single forum post. Still I can give you some pointers.
Security consultants come from different backgrounds, some from networking, database administration, infrastructure and even development like me. They contribute enormously to any product implementation from scratch (landscape design) to go-live (and continuous maintenance) so they are active on every phase of the implementation.
Following are some of the activities they may perform (or participate)
-System Landscape Design (work closely with BASIS and DBAs)
-Check Infrastructure feasibility from security perspective (For Portals exposed to internet or extranet work closely with network providers for firewall security, VPS etc.)
-Propose security guidelines, access policies, disaster recovery plan, business continuity roadmap (work closely with information security consultants and internal auditors or risk management teams)
- Implement SAP solution specific Security measures (involves almost every SAP solution) for example: SAP R/3 security, GRC, BW/BI, HR, FI, Portal security etc.
- participate in application integration for example: LDAP, IDM, SAP UME, shared directories etc (User master records security is on high priority).
- Check for any possible backdoor access vulnerabilities (ex: open RFCs, function modules like ping_rfc), and it involves almost all SAP solutions and there are special procedures to analyze such vulnerabilities.
there are many such activities that a security consultant perform on day to day basis. Please do not interprete the above mentioned activities (entirely) as a criteria for any security consultant profile. There are many many possibilities for a security consultants to work from pen testing to SoD violation remediation. That's why I said it's not easy to sum up security.
Always remember, Security and GRC are two sides of a coin they work together. however GRC is more of a combination of policy, regulation, events and involves management participation whereas security is a purely technical practice.

Process Administrator - Enable User Administration using LDAP
I'm using Oracle BPM 10gR3 connected to an LDAP. I would like to have business participants to be able to manage the Absence Periods (PTO) for participants, but I don't want them to have general admin privileges. I think the "Enable User Administration" checkbox on the participant screen will allow someone to do just that. But, the box is disabled due to the LDAP connection (I think). So, does anyone know:
1. If a user has Enable User Administration checked will they be able to manage the Absence Periods for participants?
2. How to check the box while using an LDAP to manage participants?
I read in the the Adminstration Guide how to: Assigning Administrative Privileges to LDAP Groups. But that's not my intent, it's only to enable the "Enable User Administration" checkbox.

2.Check whether you activated following Services through SICF

LSO_MANAGE_PARTICIPANTS
3.If you already activated then check from the back end through SICF or SE80 ..right click on the service and Test..
4.If it is not working then what is the error you are getting...

Calling qualifications in Personnel Development forms
Hi All,
In training client have their own cmpentency matrix which i wan to configure in sap as qualification catalog.
But here they have different compentency for every divc.ision and grades in every divisions. For example they hv 15 division like Marketing, Planning, Purchasing etc etc n in eveyry divison they have 5 grades like DGM, M-1, M-2 etc. which has diff desired level of compentencies.
For this i have created all compentencies in qualification catalog n according to grades created Qualification Blocks.
Now they diff forms based on division n grades as mentioned above which will be having list of desired competencies wit proficiencies and coloumn to capture actual level of proficiency.
I was trying to create th same form in PD. So i wanted to know is there any way i can call qualifications or qualifications blocks with desired proficiencies maintained there against each qualification from Training module. So that i will not have to configure 75 forms for 15 division n 5grades in each division. This form will only have list of desired qualification thats it.
Kindly suggest if there any other better way to handle this scenario.

SAP had delivered the PD functionality via MSS in ENHP-4. The manager can manage the development Plans via MSS.
Manager can also manage LMS course bookings and approvals via Manage Mandatory assignments, Manage Assignments Report and Manage, Manage Participation.
Manager can access the employee's Career Plan via Talent Information under Talent Management folder.

Multiple profiles with different cache settings
I want to have multiple profiles with different settings for the cache. I'll call them ProfileOne and ProfileTwo for simplicity's sake. ProfileOne I want to clear its cache on exiting Firefox and on ProfileTwo have it retain its own cache. I have already setup both profiles and configured them accordingly with ProfileOne's privacy settings for Clear History > Cache checked so it clears on exit and ProfileTwo is not set to clear anything on exiting.
The main issue is that after doing something with ProfileTwo then switching to ProfileOne, upon exiting ProfileOne it also deletes ProfileTwo's cache. I have tried using the profile manager to create the profile in a different location than default to no avail. Is there any way to set it so ProfileOne's cache can still be cleared on exit without affecting ProfileTwo's cache?After checking a few different options, it looks like the add-on Better Privacy provides the options I need for LSO management and does separate HTML cookies from Flash cookies nicely and lets me save specific site's LSOs.
