Hi,
I have a requirement, Learner can see the Course type but can't book(needs to restrict). Only Training Admin need to book that course.
How to do . Please help.

LSO - Recording Attendance in IT 2002 for Class Room Training.
Dear Expert,
We had implemented LSO some time ago.
Once class room training is booked, Attendace is not recording in IT 2002.
Please let us know what are settings, we need to do to record the attendance in IT 2002 once the course is booked from back end or through portal by the user.

Its getting updated in IT2002 now.
However, what ever timings got maintained in schedule are getting reflected in IT 2002
Suppose, course is schedule for 6 hours with lunch break. Schedule is maintainted accordingly with lunch break.
In IT2002, the timings are getting reflected exactly whatever we mentioned against schedule in course -- schedule.
Ours is positive time management, Hence, it attracts salary deduction if any deviation in IT 2002.
Though schedule is maintainted, how to maintain default timings of 8.5 hours for booked course against employee for that day without refering scheduled timings.
Please suggest me how to go about in this case.

I want to map a degree batch combination to a class rooms group in such away that they fully utilize maximum capacity of the class rooms within a group (Ideal case) or as close to it as possible. Can it be done with a SQL query?

Multiple users in a class room enviroment / deleting home folders after use
Hi,
I'm administrating a class room environment, where my students log on using Active Directory accounts. I would like to clean up the home folders after the users log out, so their profiles would be reseted when they log in next time. Is there any way to achieve this?

MThe usual way is :-
Create an account say "default".
Login with "default" and set up that account exactly how you want all the users to get. For example dock settings and browser home page etc.
Tidy up the account, empty the trash, delete recent servers, clear browser caches etc.
Login as root
Delete the keychain of the "default" account.
Copy all the home folders of default to /System/Library/User Template/English.lproj
Run repair permissions
Now all new users will get these home folders and settings when they logon.
Now all you have to do is use a script that deletes the home folders of a students when they logout
so they then get the default set when they login again.
Here is an example of one :-

N.B. OS X uses the variable $1 for the currently logged in user.
The easiest way to get this running when they logout out, is to use Mike Bombich's loginwindow manager. It complains a bit when you open it to set it up, but it still does the job with login and logout scripts.

BBC iplayer supports live broadcast of almost TV quality channels to a large number of users.
All these examples use flash to play the video stream. For free products, I imagine apache could be used to send the stream.
If you really want to use Java, I suggest using it to provide the content and controls, but not the video stream itself. -
I wish to use Apple TV's in several class rooms.
I am thinking of setting up teachers with an iPad to stream to an Apple TV using our wireless network. Can I have two or more iPads mirroring to an separate ATV on the same wireless network? So one teacher in his/her classroom on the wireless to that classroom's Apple TV. Another teacher in the classroom next door doing the same thing but in a way they do not,, umm,, cross talk? can I tell the ipad which ATV to stream to?

Tom KI am just starting to explore the potential of ATV, so my answers are more theoretical, but might be helpful.
From what I have seen, you can NAME the ATV, and I suspect you would be offered multiple ATVs by name on the AirPlay pop-up menu on the iPad. In the ATV setup menu, under NAME, they offer several home-based suggestions (Living Room, Bedroom, etc.), and then, at the bottom, CUSTOM. That is where I have already named the ATV with the ROOM number it will be in.
My current problem is poking holes in the University's locked-down network in order to see the ATV from the iPad. Any suggestions for resources helping me to accomplish that? -
How to delete course content (LSO - WBT Training)
I need to know how I can physically delete course content out of the KM without ruining anything in the portal or in the SAP tables. You can mark it as 'obsolete' via the Repository Explorer (right click on the content and you will see the option.) This means it is not available for re-use or for use in a Course Type.
I have a vendor requirement to physically remove the content from servers and I fear that simply marking it obsolete it will not be sufficient.

MattI was given this bit of information from our LSO implementation partner and these were the steps that were executed. We have tested and at this time this seems to be the best approach.
1. Mark content as obsolete in the AE
2. Access the content folder from the WEBDAV URL, and delete the content from the server.
3. Either mark corresponding course type in the Master Data Catalog to not display on the internet or delimit the course type ( do not delete).

I have a class called as Datastructure(one of my favorite classes), this class has methods:
addKey(blah,blah...)
containsKey(blah...)
getKey(.....)
getValue(.....)
now I have to design a class clled Parameter, this class has to read patameters (from an ASCII file which does not change)into Datastructure so I extended the Datastructure class as
.blah blah...Parameter extends DataStructure ....{
Parameter's method readParameterFile reads the parameters and internally calles addKey method to fill in values. I am using few of the methods of DataStructure (containdKey, getKey,getValue.....).
Some of DataStructure's methods are not required(or not used )here in Parameter. How should I not include them, or what ever I have done is correct.
(one more thing) I want to call the Parameter's methods as Parameter.getKey()...(with out usingan object of Parameter)

We are facing one problem, When we are booking (WBT)course it is showing in the portal unlimited. How to control this one. Is there any possibility to change in BSP page. This booking periods in which table it will store.

The end user has finished working on the content and has properly logged off and closed the Content Player.
When he comes to the course detail page in the Learning Portal, he finds that the 'Confirm Participation' link is missing.

LSO WBT: learning progress time isn't saved for otype P (but works for US)
Hello,
We're noticing that the progress time of a web-based training isn't saved for a person (otype P). However, for a user (otype US), the time is saved correctly in table LSOLEARNING_C.
The number of completed learning objects is saved though, it seems the problem is only with the time (field TTIMECRS).
What could be the reason for this behaviour? Thanks!!Hi Dave,
There is an authorization issue with the standard "LSO_CPLAYER" role. I am assuming you have assigned this role to the Content Player communication user. I also had the same issue. I did not have a luxury of time so the immediate fix for us was to assign additional authorization to the user id that resolved the issue.
The reason it works only when there is no pernr attached to the user id is that, in this specific situation the system uses the User Ids authorization to update the data in back-end. When the pernr is attached to the user id then the system uses the Content Player user id to update the data. While doing so if the standard role "LSO_CPLAYER" is assigned then due to the missing authorization it is able to update everything except the time. Please let me know if you require any further clarification or information on this.

A I work with students with huge learning differences. Special needs kids are so vastly different from each other. Determine the need with a professional, then do a google search or search the app store.

LSO - Perform Course Appraisal

I have this requirement where I m suppose to check which all participants have performed the course appraisal which they atteneded (Classroom or WBT).
Requirement is to send a mail to all the participants who have attended the training but not performed the course appraisal.

Please find the solution for this requirement.
"A notification to remind employees to complete a course appraisal form after the completion of the course.
Condition 1: No reminder should be sent out if an employee hasnu2019t attend the course.
Condition 2: The reminder should be only for course followup action is done.
Condition 3: If an employee doesnu2019t have an email address then his/her manager needs to be notified by email that their employees will have to fill out a course evaluation form.
Condition 3A: For a classroom course, if there is more than one employee in a team attending the course, then a single email should be sent out to the manager listing all the employees in his/her team that have attended the course but do not have an email address."
Fetch all the class room courses (Object Type E or ET ) and its relationships (A/025) with Person (Object Type P) and get their ADATANR and PERNR
Validate and fetch the followup flag for all the available ADATANR from HRPAD25 (adatanr ,followup flag) and sort Object wise (E) PERNR's
get the appraisal document ids based on course E or ET Type and extended appraisee Id from HRHAP_APPEE
Based on above appraisal document Ids and persid from HRP1001 and type P,get the consolidated documents from HRHAP_APPER
Fetch the data from hrhap table and get the appraisal status other than 5, based on above consolidated data
Based on the above cons data we have to get the email ids.
If email ID's are not available for the attendees, the consolidated email notification has to send to the reporting position at course level. (Check A/002 relationship).

Screen customizations in LSO...?
Hi All,
We are using mySAP ERP 2005, LSO 600. We customized our own workflows in LSO.
Ideally, we have embedded prebooking wfs (out of box) in LSO so that employee is allowed to prebook only.
Now, the problem is whenever a employee prebooks an training event (type - Class room training) in LSO, the dedired workflow item is getting trigerred and everything work fine.
The problem here we have is, employee sometimes clicks prebook button twice which makes two workflow items getting trigerred in this context and which is a problem for us.
We need to disable the prebook button once the user clicks on prebook. Can anybody shade some light how can we accomplish this task ?
I guess, it is achievable through modifying BSP application -> HCM_LEARNING -> prebook and prebook2.htm

Anil Kumarwhen you fetch the list of events at that time you will have to check for all the events for which prebooking is possible by employee that if a workflow has already been initiated by the employee for the same event.
one option to do this is by fetching all the workitems that are pending for approval initiated by an employee with prebooking task id.
