Lync 2013 meet now dropping calls

Hello,
We have migrated from Lync 2010 to Lync 2013 and all the users are using Lync 2010 clients. We have tested meet now between external and federated users and seems to work fine. However internal users o federated users keep on getting dropped off and are
requested to rejoin, when they try rejoining it doesn't work.
Thanks

Did decommission the Lync 2010 pool?
Please check if you have the same problem in internal conferencing.
Check if you have the same problem in a conferencing with internal users and externals without federated users.
Please check the certificates on Lync Front End and Edge Server are configuration correctly.

  • Lync 2013 meeting invitation customizations not working for some users

    Hello Microsoft TechNet Forms,
I have a strange problem that I am totally stumped on. I made some modifications to the Lync 2013 meeting configuration to add in my company's logo, a footer and set a custom help Lync URL. Now everything seemed to work expect for myself and
one other person I tested with. If I try creating a new Lync 2013 meeting via my Outlook 2013 the normal stock Lync meeting invite appears. Yet testing with any other user everything I have changed appears as expected and I am at a total loss to why.
I have so far from troubleshooting determined it must be something with my account that is causing it but I have just not been able to determine what. As signing into a different machine yields the same result yet testing with another account that is
known to work on the exact same machine works correctly with the different account. I have tired deleting and re-crating my Lync account just in case that had something to do with it but that didn't fix the problem. I have tired repairing Office 2013 to
running windows update on Office 2013 which didn't help.
The changes I made to the meeting configuration are global scoped. I have so far not found anything online from anyone ever reporting a similar issue to this. At this point I am stuck on what I should be looking for with regards to what is stopping
the meeting invite updating for myself and the other person. Given I don't know what mechanism is involved with updating the Lync meeting invite on Outlook 2013 I am stumped. I am open to any suggestions someone might have as to what to do next or what might
be the cause of this problem.
    Nicholas,

    Hi Nicholas,
Can you compare your account with other’s and check if your account is applied any special policy in Lync Control Panel ?
    Best regards,

  • How do I enable users to attend on Lync 2013 meeting on Windows 2008 R2 Terminal Services/XenApp 6?

    Hi,
We are not using Lync internally. But some of my users need to attend Lync 2013 meetings. We run a Windows 2008 R2 Terminal Services/XenApp environment. Users are not allowed to install applications.
In the past, I was able to install administratively a Lync 2010 attendee client.
How do I enable my users to attend a Lync 2013 meeting?
    Thanks.

This is not viable. I don't know which user is going to be attending Lync meetings from suppliers or customers ahead of time and have no contacts to request a test meeting. This is a loop. How does Microsoft expect sysadmins to support their products if
the client software is not easily available.
At this point if I have a user who needs this, I will only know about it after the meeting has failed. At that point the user is not very receptive to the idea of involving his contact in troubleshooting and setting up test meetings. It's even worse if it's
    an executive.
Is there any way of pre-installing the pre-requisites for attending Lync 2013 meetings?
My only choice is to inform my user community that we have no way of supporting Lync and request that they use GotoMeeting or WebEx with their contacts who try to do a Lync meeting.
I am very disappointed in Microsoft's approach with Lync 2013.
    Thanks for your time.

  • Lync 2013 Mobility Client - Video Call Issue (Everything Else works).

    Hey Technet’ies,
I have been struggling for a couple of weeks now to resolve one of the final issues with a Migration/Upgrade Project on Lync Server 2013.
I have nearly every Lync Client Scenario working well except the Mobility Client (outside of the domain) which cannot successfully complete a Video
Call to a Windows Desktop Client (inside the domain) – the toast pops up, but when we click accept - it just times out after 15 seconds
    K
    The strange thing is every other Video Call scenario works;
    Mobility Client (Outside Domain)
    àWindows Desktop Client (Inside Domain)
    = Unsuccessful
    Mobility Client (Inside Domain)
à Windows Desktop Client (Inside Domain) = Successful

    Our setup is pretty standard;
All OS servers are Win Server 2012 R2
    Lync 2013 Standard FE Server
    Lync 2013 Edge Server
Reverse Proxy IIS AAR (Also Win Server 20012 R2)
Lync 2013 Desktop Clients, Lync 2011 Mac Clients, IOS and Android Mobility Clients – all latest versions.
External NAT (via Cisco Routers ACL’s)
Internal Windows Firewall Currently off on all Servers
All Certs / DNS Configured as per Technet Recommendation
    I have reviewed / analysed a number of log/trace files – looking for some/any information on the problem;
    Mobility Client (cmlogX.log)
Windows Desktop Client (*.etl) / Microsoft Message Analyzer
    Lync 2013 Server (CSController)
With all my looking I could not make out an error except a timeout (15 seconds) on the Mobility Client log (which I currently can’t find).
Clearly we are missing something and I have gone up and down our implementation a number of times, the only semi-unknown is our old 2010 Pool / Central Management Server (which is currently pretty much redundant but the majority of users still on).
I would really appreciate any feedback anyone can provide or any insight anyone may have on this challenge.
    Thanks in advance, Alex.
    Alex

    Hi Andrew,
    Thanks for the quick contact!!
    Sorry - typo in my post, I have now corrected it;
    Mobility
    Client (Outside Domain) àWindows
Desktop Client (Inside Domain) = Unsuccessful
So I completely missed that blog post of yours (out of the 100's I have read) and you are the first person to clearly say (in simple terms) to point the lyncweb.contso.com to the public IP address on my internal DNS, I have just made that change and see
if it will correct the issue - will wait for replication.
Also I am running IIS / AAR as Reverse Proxy (not ISA) and had the Internal DNS Host A of lyncweb.contso.com and lyncdiscover.contso.com point back to my Reverse Proxy Internal NIC (i.e. 10.1.1.32) as the External NIC is isolated on in the Perimeter Network,
    is this correct?
So it now goes like this
    *Inside Domain*
    lyncdiscover.contson.com --> 10.1.1.32 (Reverse Proxy Internal Nic) --> 10.1.1.26 (Front End Server)
lyncweb.contson.com --> 201.183.0.1 (Reverse Proxy External Nic - Public IP) --> 10.1.2.16 (Reverse Proxy External Nic) --> 10.1.1.26 (Front End Server)
Does this make any sense, I know ISA and IIS/AAR are pretty much interchangeable.
Thanks again Andrew and look forward to any feedback,
    Alex.

  • Lync 2013 aborts (crashes) after call is terminated

Computer is on a network. Desktop is running Win 7 64 bit with lync 2013. When the user terminates a call lync aborts and asks if user wants to restart Lync. I believe this is profile related as I logged on as myself with my credentials and could not
make the same issue happen.  The user also logged into a different computer and worked fine. Did not crash after ending a call. This issue just started as the user has been with this computer for quite some time with no issues before now.
Is there a fix for the user profile?
    Thanks

You can enable log on phone device, then check if the phone got the BYE signal in log file.
The log files are stored on the Lync filestore associated with the pool where the user logged into the phone hosted. Should be something like
    \\fileserver\LyncShare\*WebServices*\DeviceUpdateLogs\...

  • How can we get a url for a "Meet Now" conference call from within the Windows Store App?

    Hi,
Is it possible to get the url for the current meeting / new "Meet Now" call from within the Windows Store app?
You have the option of inviting your current Lync contacts, but I don't see a way of giving a URL to clients that would launch Lync on their device, or take them to the web app.
I can see how to get the link using the Outlook plugin, for pre-scheduled meetings. Is this link always the same and the one that should be used for an impromptu "Meet Now" meeting? It would still be good to know how to get this URL from within
the store app so I can tell clients where to get it.
Some people may be on Windows RT devices and not have access to the plugin in Outlook, and want to start a meeting at short notice and then invite others via email or pasting a link to them elsewhere.
    Any help appreciated.
If I have answered your question, please mark it as the correct answer. If I have provided helpful information, please mark it as so.

    Hi,
Agree with Holger, I check on my Lync Windows Store app and can't find the meeting URL as well.

  • Error when starting Lync 2013 meeting with Office 32 bit windows 8.1 64 bit.

    Hi,
have Office pro 2013 32 bit and lync 2013 32bit on win 8.1 64 bit. And I can't start lync meeting's. Lync are working. When i start lync detting error " that lync have trouble and that the program has to be restarted." the choise
is to repare or Close. eighter helps. Any one has any suggestions what to do.

Its reasonably uncommon for the client to just crash as far as I have seen. As Desmond has mentioned I would try the latest updates (ensuring that you also have the latest supporting updates for Office). If this doesnt help you may need to look deeper in
    the OS.
    Hope it helps!

  • Lync 2013 Audio headset - Dialtone while making voice calls wich cause a line disconnection at the end

    Greetings,
I've searched for information on this, but haven't found a solution. I am using MS Office 2013 64bit as well as MS Lync 2013 64bit. Server level team has migrated my
    mailbox recently to Cloud.
I've noticed with Lync, when I connect my headset (Plantronics and Microsoft Lync), I get a dial tone. We do not have Lync connected to a phone system. It plays the
dial tone over Lync. The only way to stop it is to end the call.
The weird part that my colleague is using the same computer. If he logs into the system using his own username, he doesn’t experience this issue although he uses the
same headset which I am using and having problem with!!
Why is there a dialtone on Lync when I login to my profile? It's not even connected to a phone line!
How to I disable a dialtone from happening?
Your assistance with this would be greatly appreciated!

I am having a similar issue.  Setup:
    Windows 7 x64
Jabra Pro 9460 headset with Jabra Control Center 2.14.5888.0
    Lync 2013 (15.0.4623.1000) MSO 15.0.4645.1000 32-bit
    Setup to use Jabra
Cisco IP Communicator 8.6.1.0 (Cisco IP Phone)
    Setup to use Jabra
When I start a meeting in Lync via “Meet Now”, I immediately get:
A dial tone on the headset
Cisco IP Phone move to foreground and a call is started
Lync’s Join Meeting Audio window is displayed
No matter which option is select, including “Don’t join audio”, the dial tone continues.
If I hang up the call on the Cisco IP Phone, the Lync meeting indicates:
“You have been removed from this conversation.”
I have used this in the past, before a rebuild to x64 when everything was upgraded, without this interaction.
Is there a way to stop Lync from manipulating the Cisco IP Phone?
Have deleted the profile as indicated as the Answer above…no help.

  • Cisco Call Manager 8.5 and Lync 2013

    Dear all,
Our customer wants to integrate their Lync 2013 to the Cisco Call Manager 8.5.
Out of some not so recent information i thought that if u want to use the enterprise voice of lync you'll have to make a sip trunk between Cisco Call Manager & Lync 2013.
I think that this still counts, i've also heard that there have been a moderate amount of changes between cucm 8.5 and cucm 8.6 on matters of sip.
I'm unable to find them though, also what does CUCI - Lync do?
    Kr,
    Yannick Vranckx

    Hi Yannick,
There can be three types of integrations between Lync and Cisco Systems
    1)      Direct SIP Trunk between Lync Server and Call Manager - In this, we can setup shared line between Cisco extensions and Lync extensions, and Sip trunk between the servers. Any Cisco phone / Lync client  can call each other vice-versa. Initial setup needs planning, but later it does not need much configurations in client side. The following document explains the configurations needed.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucilync/9/CUCI_BK_C0B36AC1_00_cisco-uc-integration-for-microsoft.pdf
    2) CUCILYNC, which is like Cisco Jabber client but connects with Lync and Call Manager: Lync Client <----> CUCILYNC <-----> CUCM
In this option, a plug-in is installed in each client side. Although initial configurations is easier, each user needs to install the client and operate it. The below document explains the configuration and setup.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucilync/9/CUCI_BK_C0545A41_00_cisco-uc-integration-for-microsoft.html
    3) RCC (Remote Call Plugin) which just provides basic call control feature but for that you need Cisco Unified Presence Server: Lync Client <----> CUPS <-----> CUCM

  • Lync 2013 client is deployed but user accounts are not migrated from OCS to Lync 2013 Server - how to open Lync meetings automatically in the Lync Web Plug-in

We have in our enterprise the following scenario:
    1 - Lync 2013 client is installed
2 - User accounts are not migrated to Lync 2013 Server, users are using Office Communicator as their main tool
3 - Users receive Lync 2013 meeting requests but when try to access them, Lync 2013 client launches and shows error. Users will need to open the browser and paste the URL to the address bar but this still open
4 - We cannot use the workaround of adding "?SL=1" to the Lync 2013 meeting URL as the user base is large and manual workaround is not accepted
5 - Question: is there any automated way, via egistry key or GPO setting, so that users temporarily (until their accounts are migrated to Lync 2013 server) can bypass Lync 2013 client completely and automatically open all Lync 2013 meetings
on the browser, using Lync Web Plug-in?

    Thanks for the response,
First, I should have mentioned clearly that users have Office Communicator 2007 client and Lync 2013 client installed in their machines. Their accounts are not migrated yet to Lync 2013 server.
Second, we are using IE9 and IE10. The issue is that users CAN join Lync 2013 meetings with their browsers but have to paste the URL manually to browser and add "?SL=1" otherwise, if they just click at the "Join Online Meeting" or "Join
Lync Meeting" URL it launches Lync 2013 client which shows error because is not configured yet, as they are using OCS client and migrating slowly to Lync 2013 server.
Is there a Group Policy setting or a registry key from Microsoft that can be turned on to these users machines and make will all Lync meeting requests to be opened in IE browser instead of Lync 2013 client. We need a way to ignore
Lync 2013 client until user accounts are migrated to Lync 2013 Server. Manually typing URLs is not an option in a big organization, can't explain thousands of users of different levels what to do.
We are regretting the decision not to separate Lync 2013 from Office 2013 package we deployed recently. If Lync 2013 is uninstalled then all Lync meeting requests are opened in browser without an issue.

  • Unable to connect as a formal agent to a Response Group after Migration to Lync 2013

We are in the process of migrating our Lync 2010 servers to Lync 2013. Everything seems to go well, but problems started to appear after we migrated the Lync 2010 response groups to Lync 2013. Now only those groups with informal agents work. All the groups
with formal agent, when they try select their group through the web page, they all get the error:
You are not a member of any group. For assistance, contact your support team"
Did anyone experience such an issue ?
    Thanks,
    Antonio

We had this problem with our recent migration of c. 350 response groups, many of which had formal agent groups. The cause appears to be that after the migration, the formal agent registration screen sees both the 'old' and the 'new' formal agent groups of
which the current user is a member and resolves these to only one entry on the registration screen (which is understandable). But the entry seems to be connected to the 'old' and not the 'new' agent group. We were able to verify this by checking in the old
and new pool database (rgsdyn) and seeing that even after the migration the formal agents were signing in to the old pool and not the new one. One solution is to delete the members from the old formal agent groups so that future registrations are forced to
take place  in the new pool database. However, if you do this, bear in mind that if you have to back out the migration, you have to restore these.
We were also had to abandon one migration attempt because of another problem where the migration tool does not support the migration of agents who are defined indirectly in the agent group through a mail distribution group.

  • Can Lync 2013 work as IVR (auto-attendant ) for dialing Lync users?

    Hi All,
Can Lync 2013 works as IVR (Auto-attendant) for dialing lync users?
We want to migrate IVR from Nortel to Lync 2013. PSTN users call auto.attendant for dialing Lync users instead to dialing 1 for sales, etc?
    Regards
    José Osorio

    Hi,JOSE,
There are two types of Response group, one is IVR group and the other is hunt group,if you would like to route the callers to a special queue without asking any question then you can use the hunt group, otherwise you can use the IVR group.

  • Integrating Lync 2013 with IBM Lotus notes

    Hi All,
One of our customer raised the below query:
We have Lync Online Meetings Connector for Lotus Notes that will work with Lync 2010.  You can refer the below article:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/hh527742(v=office.14).aspx
However, partner is not sure about the same meeting connector available for Lync 2013 when we have Lotus notes email system.
Partner wants to schedule the Lync 2013 meeting but don’t have Outlook client as Exchange server mail system is not used in their environment. They have Lotus notes email system.
    Question:
Do we have Lync 2013 Meeting connector for Lotus notes?
Please advise. Thank you for your time.

... Good question.  I don't have a Notes environment to test in, but you could use the 2013 client to connect to the 2010 back end to test.  I'd download the free Lync Basic client and see if you can replicate the functionality you need:
