Mac OS 10.6.4 won't install - Claims there's an error preventing Install

I have tried every which way to install update 10.6.4 either via software update or manually downloading the update and even manually downloading 10.6.4 combo, all to no avail. Once the download and update is complete, either I get the update box showing a large yellow triangle with an exclamation mark therein and the text "THE INSTALLATION FAILED The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance" or i get as far as "The computer needs to restart" and I press OK. The computer then goes direct to the default wallpaper and runs through package verification only to tell me that "There is an error - update failed to install" I have run Disk repair and have started from the install disk and run disk repair from there, all to no avail. Help would be apperciated.

How full is the hard drive?

Try this from MacFixIt as well:
In the case of drive directory damage or problems with permissions, the solution is usually to use Apple's Disk Utility to repair the disk. Of course, you won't be able to perform this operation normally (simply launching the Disk Utility application, located in Applications/Utilities, and initiating a disk repair) if your system will not startup. So two options exist:
* Insert your Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) media (DVD or CD) and restart the computer while holding down the "C" key. Once the computer has booted from the installation disc, select "Utilities" from the menubar and open Disk Utility. Repair the disk, then quit Disk Utility and restart your system.
* Alternatively, you can repair the disk while booted in single user mode if you do not have access to a retail Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) DVD/CD. To startup in single user mode, hold down the "Command" and "S" keys simultaneously at startup. Once properly booted, type the command fsck at the prompt. Repeat these process until no errors appear.

Did you try it with the iTunes your Mac already has?
Try running Software Update in your System Preferences. That should bring your computer up to the latest software available for 10.4. You would end up with an older version of iTunes, but that may be good enough to activate your iPad.

My Itunes would not update. The I was told to uninstall everything. Now I can not install Itunes, there is an error everytime. How do I fix this? Please help me!

It started with my itunes not being able to update and it said errors. Then I uninstalled multiple programs the forums told me to do. Still had errors trying to uninstall. Then tried to reinstall, errors. Then tried to go back and restore my computer to a previous time when Itunes was working. It has disapeared. Software update says I need to do the lastest update which I have tried to do at least 6 times. It downloads the software, the computer restarts, it starts to finish the download and then says ' there was an error in installing the software" What is up?

Each time I try, I have tried 6 times, the software downloads, it has me restart the system, it then writes the files to disk and then I get an error measage that "there was error in installing the softare. Anybody have this problem and how do you fix it? I am running 10.6.6

Try this before trying to install the update.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
If you still have a problem then I suggest you download the 10.6.7 Combo Updater and install it.

Not able to activate FlashBuilder 4.7 after first install - got "There was an error ... try again ."

Yesterday I bought FlashBuilder 4.7 Standard.
I'hd installed it on my Windows 8 Laptop and on my Windows 7 Station (with Home Premium) - both 64 Bit.
After giving my serial number, the setup installs the whole FlashBuilder and it works fine.
But only on my pc with windows 7, I could not activate the software inside the FlashBuilder dialog.
It asks for my email and my personal password and ... I got 50 times the same error:

So I try many times to:
- deinstall all adobe software
- make a registry recreation
- make a recovery of my pc 3 days back
- download the adobe cleaner tools and try them
- make two chats with adobe staff in india: phani and another man (I think 2 hours)
- nothing happens
Every time the same: the error dialog above.
I had "googled" two days for any solution - but nothing

Eduardo Alejandro Lazo what specific error do you receive when trying to apply the update?
I would also recommend checking the installation logs for the updates you are attempting to apply for errors. Help Me! Apache Won't run even there is no error

I have successfully installed Oracle 9ias on Linux RH 7.1.
And there are some errors such as default virtual host overlap, etc. I Have Managed to solve or error. until there is no error at all (in error_log or in Jserv.log )
So as a result i notice that after i started the apache using apachectl start , and i already get the message "httpd started. " without errors in all log, i still can not access my apache server.
While doing so i examine the unix processes (using process management), from that i know that my httpd process is down by it self.
Is any one can help me...please...

Remove the ram module and boot your computer. It sould beep at startup without ram, otherwise it's most likely a dead motherboard. Keep us posted.

iTunes doesn't play the songs. And QuickTimePlayer won't play: The document “TestNewMac.mp4” could not be opened. An unknown error occurred (-101). Isn't this wonderful? I've seen 100s of articles and complaints about the same thing. How come Apple doesn't fix it? Now I want my money back. VERY Angry at Apple for these problems. Furthermore, the beachball of death spins for an unreasonable amount of time upon startup, and I have a solid state drive! Come on Apple. I bet my $4000 is working for you.
