MAC Sync Issue

Hi,
i am using Macbook Pro with OS X 10.6.7. I have downloaded blackberry desktop manager for mac. now when i am trying to sync my Bold 9780 with it, it syncs the calander really well. the issue is with the address book and outlook 2011.
when i am trying to sync the contacts, at first it synced all the contacts but with limited information, only some email addresses were synced. after that i went to the mac address book and added the fields similar to bb. when i synced again it made duplicates. so i earased the contacts from mac address book and also restored my bb thru the backup file cread on my other pc (thank god for that, i have more then 2500 detailed contacts on my phone). i tried to re-sync but then it only transferred 200 contacts, i am stuck, love using mac and bb both!!!
help please!!!!!!

Just to update on this. I was over in Sydney for a few days last week and took the opportunity to visit the Genius Bar to see if they could help with this. I spent nearly 45 minutes with a guy there and even he couldn't help. He looked at all the settings on my phone and mac and said that everything was set up as correctly.
Its really starting to annoy me now so it looks like a delete and clean install is on the cards. Need to put a full day aside and get it done.
Just to update the problem even the single day all day sync from my iPhone, syncs one day ahead. However syncing from mac to iPhone everything is perfect.

  • .Mac sync issues since 10.4.6?

It is now impossible for me to update my iCal from my laptop (this worked perfectly before)--- now I get a sync error every time. It works fine from my G5 tower at home, BTW. So I took my laptop to the Mac store... guess what, it's not a laptop problem. The apple Genius (who was very helpful and kind) could not sync HIS own calendar from the store, meaning there is a .mac problem going on... no resultion yet! This is a real work issue for me, since having my calendar on my laptop is my lifeline for work... Anyone else facing this? Is this a Tiger issue?

  • Dock .mac sync issues

    Guys,
I am running two machines both installed with 10.5.1. I subscribe to .mac and get the best of my mac's but I have noticed that dock items are not being sync'ed properly. iTunes is one application I cannot get to stay on the dock even when I right click and choose 'keep on dock'. As soon as I run a synchronise iTunes disappears. iTunes is not on the dock of my macbook either. I am expecting whenever I add an application to the dock it should appear on my other computer after sync but iTunes and others do not!
    Anyone else had this problem.

  • BB Desktop for Mac Sync Issues Solved

I had major problems getting my Storm to sync anything at all with the new BB Desktop.  After reading this board and finding no real comprehensive guide to troubleshooting I decided to give it my best shot with the help of google and common sense, which seems to have done the trick.  I have BB Storm with Mac OSX 10.6.1. Was previously using PocketMac but that disaster is finally just a bad memory . Here's what worked for me.
    Uninstalled Pocket Mac
Went into Home - Library - Preferences and deleted every file that had pocketmac.plist in the name
Wiped my Blackberry (Ouch).  Go into Options - Security Options - BB MenuKey - Select Wipe Handheld. Yes I know this is painful but I wanted to make sure I had best chance of success.  I guess you could back it up before you do this but my unit was so screwed up I didn't bother
When it rebooted from the wipe I did not set anything up and deleted the old e-mail account settings that for some reason will still there in the e-mail settings (I think because the info is stored on a Verizon server and not on the BB).  Before setting up any e-mail services or re-installing any software I wanted to make sure the Sync would work first
    I installed Blackberry Desktop Manager
I connected the BB and synced iCal by selecting replace all items on the BB.  Like magic everything synced to the BB from multiple calendars even with recurring events
Then I synced Mac Address Book the same way and again everything worked great.  I should add that before doing this I painfully went through every Address Book entry to make sure I didn't have e-mail addresses in phone number fields and vica versa.
I ejected the BB and closed BDTM.
Then I set up the first e-mail account on the BB
I then went into Options - Advanced Options - Service Book and deleted the entry called [email protected] [CICAL] that was created during the set up process
Then I connected the BB to sync the calendar with BDTM and received a message that "the service for your devices calendar has changed"  Options were to cancel the sync, merge data or replace all items on the BB which is the one I selected.
After this first sync all the calendar entries were deleted on the BB
I synced the calendar a second time and received and error message which I clicked through and the sync finished.  All my calendar entries were back on the BB again.  Subsequent syncs have been without that initial error message
I then synced the Address Book which was uneventful
I repeated the same process for multiple e-mail accounts and each time this process worked fine.
I ejected the BB and closed BDTM again
Then I re-installed Facebook for BB and made sure to select only the messaging feature.  There are 2 other options for syncing calendar and address book info with Facebook's sever that are checked by default.  I unchecked both of those as I really didn't want to press my luck at this point.
So one last time I reconnected the BDTM and synced calendar and address book without a hitch and after 48 hours of complete aggravation all is now well.
Now just need to reset my ring tones, fonts, bluetooth pairings, etc...  Hope this helps some of you out who are having problems.

Thank you. That looks like a fairly comprehensive fix, and one I might try when I have more time. In the meantime, I've gone back to Missing Sync which is working fine.
Here's the beef, though - why is it that BB's DTM requires so much fiddling around to get it to work? If Missing Sync can do it with just a simple install and re-start on each machine, why can't RIM manage it?
New software should be smooth and flawless to use, not a major pain in the **bleep** that requires hours and hours of its customers time to try and find complex solutions to.

  • Endless syncing: issue with iCal (2.0.5) and iPod Touch 8GB (4.0.2)

    Hi,
A couple of days ago I upgraded my iPod's OS from 4 to 4.0.2. Also, around those days, I made massive changes on my iCal's calendars (in my MacBook's iCal, not in the iPod's iCal). Since then, when I connect my iPod to my MacBook, iTunes stays syncing calendars and never stops.
I re-installed iTunes (the new version), but it didn't work.
I've tried rebooting, then restoring the iPod, restoring MacBook's iCal (Erased all calendars and created a new & empty one, then I went to Library and erased what I thought it was erasable).
I need help... I've just returned to college and it's a drama not being able to sync. Is it because iPod's new OS and Tiger won't work together anymore...?
PS: I've read something about MobileMe. I don't have nor want an account.
Thanks for reading and sorry for my poor English.

    ranklam,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Troubleshooting .Mac syncing issues, should be helpful.
Just follow the steps listed under: General troubleshooting steps.
Before you do anything, make sure that you use iCal>File>Back up iCal...
    Good Luck.

  • Both macs sync, just not with eachother?

I have three macs. Two sync, but recently one is not syncing with the others. In accounts/advanced the two can not see the lone one and vice versa. (used only for iCal) Any suggestions any one? Thanks.

This is a .Mac Sync issue, not one with iSync. A forum for .Mac Sync users is located here.
.Mac machine to machine synchronization now requires Mac OS X 10.4.10 or later, and synchronization from machines upon which Mac OS X 10.3.x is installed is no longer supported to any platform running Mac OS X 10.4 or later. Mac OS X 10.3 <---> 10.3 synchronization is still supported.

  • .Mac Sync Error

I keep two computers synced via .Mac. Until just recently there's been no problem. My PowerBook runs its normal sync routine (and syncs properly with my Palm). When I try then try to sync my iMac it doesn't work, and this error message comes up:
[ISyncConcreteSession pushChange:]: you can't modify a record that doesn't exist: <ISyncChange 0x15c8a50>{ modify record id 'C200015D-D6D5-4DD3-A476-9C088352A955'
    set com.apple.ical.type = local
    set title = Unfiled }
NOTE: the problem seems to only affect the calendar.
I booted up from the system disk and corrected the permissions. I also ran the repair function, which reported that there was nothing needing repair.
Beyond that I haven't a clue. Thanks in advance for any help.
    iMac G4 + PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

This is actually a .Mac Sync issue, for which a forum exists here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=957
It is triggered though, by an issue involving iSync and your Palm device. iSync creates a default Unfiled calendar, into which all Palm-created events are transferred each time you synchronize. This particular iSync feature has behaved inconsistently since the evolution of iSync 1.5 to iSync 2, and subsequent releases have not corrected the strange behavior it sometimes exhibits. Your issue is an extension of those behavioral problems.
Assuming that the error message appears on your iMac, which is synchronized with .Mac Sync but to which you do not synchronize your Palm device, then you need to reset your synchronization data by opening the System Preferences application on your Powerbook and execute these steps:
    • press the .Mac icon
    • press the Advanced tab
    • wait for your registered computer list to be updated, then press the Reset Sync Data… button
    • from the Replace: drop-down menu, choose Calendars
    • click on the right-facing arrow, so that the orange animated arrow moves from left to right
    • be sure that the phrase above it says, "On .Mac with sync info from this computer."
    • press the Replace button
Once that process has been completed, go to the iMac and execute the same process, except in the opposite direction: you want to press the left-facing arrow so that the orange animated icon runs from right to left, and the phrase above it says, "On this computer with sync info from .Mac."
That should force the creation of the now non-existent Unfiled calendar on the iMac, and allow synchronization to occur properly.

  • Sync issues with .mac & iPods / iTunes

    Hi,
I have recently been getting sync issues with both my .mac account and iTunes. (all iPods)
To be exact, it is having trouble syncing my address book.
For iTunes, I can sync everything but my calendars and address book. (It freezes) My iPods work fine in syncing when I turn of the Ical / Address book sync feature.
and when my .mac sync starts, my computer freezes. (When trying to sync my address book)
This has only happened over the past week and I think its due to recent updates for the iPhone.
Can someone from Apple investigate this please....

    HI Dean,
    Try trashing the preference files:
    com.apple.isync.plist
    com.apple.addressbook.plist
They are here: Home/Library/Preferences. Open the Prefs folder, locate those files, drag them to the Trash and reboot. See if that helps.

  • .mac sync problem:  account information issues

I have 3 machines, all running 10.4.11. 2 of them synced (before the .me migration), one, an ibook G4 has never synced
In Ical preferences, the synchronize calendar box is grayed and there is the following message: Your .mac account information is not correct or you did not turn on synchronization in the .mac Preference Pane
When I go to .mac in system preferences, under the Sync tab, I am unable to check off any of the programs that can be synced. If I try to check off the synchronize with .mac box, the check appears then immediately disappears. Going to advanced, pressing the Register this Computer button. causes nothing to happen.
I have no problems accessing my account or idisc.
I have reset my sync data,
    reset my .mac password
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you,

    Carolyn,
You set me on the right path. com.apple.syncservices.ConflictResolver.plist could not be found. So, I started deleting preference files and rebooting.
    First
    com.apple.DotMacSync.plist
    Then
    com.apple.isync.plist
    Then
    com.apple.dotmaccertificatefix.plist
In all of the above cases I received the following error message when I went to system preferences / .mac / sync tab
"There was a problem with the sync
    .Mac login failed"
    Then
    com.apple.dotmactranslator.plist
at system preferences / .mac / sync tab
Dot mac then told me that there were two of my computers using the same name. This might have been left over from the migration assistant
I changed the name of the computer that was giving me an error instead of syncing and that solved the problem.
    Thank you all.

  • Disappearing Contacts, Mobile Me Sync Issues, Calendar crash-Answers??

I'll try to keep this post brief but hopefully it will help provide some possible answers for frustrated users experiencing the random complete wipe out of all contacts and calendar data when syncing with mobile me using either push or fetch. After several weeks of experiencing these random sync issues and spending several hours over several days between tech support calls with iPhone then Mobile Me support and then finally a genius bar appointment where the genius said he didn't have a clue and simply offered to replace my phone.
The next morning, SAME PROBLEMS... and through it all NO ONE could tell me why my sync was so randomly unreliable. Every other day for no apparent reason, my phone would suddenly lose all contacts and/or calendar data. (A few thousand contacts and two years of calendar data). It was both frustrating and strange—even stranger that Apple techs had no clue why and seemed to think no one else was having this issue.
I tried everything - complete restores, resets, deleting and re-adding the mobileme account, etc., etc., etc. One tech support person finally said, "good luck..." The others kept handing me off the higher levels of support... until finally they just said "we don't know why this is happening." I was waiting for someone to just say, "Look, we have issues with mobile me, so hang in there and eventually it will work." I can be patient and I still think the iphone is the greatest invention in recent years. But everybody I talked with at Apple seemed to think this should be working flawlessly.
I also started having a crash on the calendar anytime I tried to see the list view for "all calendars." This was frustrating because that's the best feature of the calendar app!
I was prepared to just return to syncing with my computer and wait for the software to improve between the phone and mobile me. Finally, last night I tried a few things that seem to be working... and for the first full day, mobile me is actually useful to me today. (my fingers are crossed!)
    Here's what I did.
    1. I minimized the number of calendars I was syncing - I have no idea if this affected the sync, but I was syncing eight calendars, now I'm down to four. (You can easily export a calendar and import those events back into a different calendar.)
    2. I did a complete restore of the phone (not from a back up) and the VERY FIRST THING, I added mobile me and synced only the calendar (set to push.) This cleared up the random calendar crash in list view and also mobile me was pushing data rather reliably. After a few moments my entire calendar was on the phone and worked perfectly. New events were transferred quickly back and forth.
    3. I then chose to sync my contacts through the computer rather than over the air. I fear that the contact sync was somehow messing up the whole communication process between the phone and the cloud. Someone suggested that the number of "groups" in contacts might have an impact on the sync issues as well. I didn't need my contacts to sync with the urgency of "push" so this works for me. Plus I have a lot of contacts and it's just faster over the cable.
    4. I then GREATLY reduced the number of apps on my phone. I originally had about 27 and I only reinstalled 9 of them. I did this ONE AT A TIME - starting with the most necessary and useful... and after each install, I checked the functionality of the calendar and mobile me. No problems. Perhaps I was having an app conflict?
    5. Then I reinstalled the rest of my content - music, podcasts, photos. Still no problems.
ONE of these steps actually worked, and I'm not sure which one. My guess is that one or more of my apps was conflicting in some way. OR possibly something with the contact sync... but for the last 24 hours the mobile me calendar sync using push has been consistently reliable and useful. (for the record, mobile me email has always worked perfectly for me.)
No one with tech support ever suggested to me that I could be having an application conflict or any other problems with calendars or contact groups, etc. I've spent many hours on this the past few weeks... and for the first time, my iphone seems to be working with mobile me correctly.
In reading many of these posts, it seems a lot of others are having similar problems... so hopefully these suggestions might be helpful. If you have any thoughts as to which of these solutions was the correct one, I would be interested in hearing your opinion.
    Thanks!

Are your Address Book contacts and iCal calendars/calendar events on your Mac synced with your MobileMe online address book and calendar?
When you say this data is not synced with your iPhone, none of your MobileMe online data is transferred to your iPhone, or after the initial transfer of this data to your iPhone when you first turned contacts and calendars for over the air syncing with your MobileMe account on your iPhone, the data is not kept synchronized with the MobileMe "cloud"?

  • Duplicated events on iCal after .mac sync

    Thre facts:
    I have a TREO600, a desktop mac, and a powerbook, both running Tiger 10.4.4.
Due to some other problems with syncing the TREO, I have purchased the Missing Sync from MarkSpace, and that works very well to sync the palm with the desktop.
I started syncing my two computers with .mac lately, and I have nothing but trouble. Nearly every sync throws up some conflicts, often about events that have long passed. I went through the long list of conflicts EVERY time this happens, but iSync seems to complain about new conflict nearly everytime I sync.
Moreover, it seems to duplicate certain (but not all) events on my iCal after it has synced with .mac.
This is super annoying. I have seen that there are many different posts on duplication already, but none of them seem to match my problem, though there definetly seems to be a general problem with iSync not being very good at checking for duplicates.
Any ideas how to solve this?
    thanks,
    marc

Because you are running the Missing Sync for Palm OS in a Mac OS X 10.4 or later environment, the synchronization of your data is a separate process controlled by .Mac Sync. In order to correct the issue, you should perform a reset, replacing all of the records on .Mac with the records from iCal and the Address Book, which should, incidently, be contemporaneous with your Treo 600 smartphone.
To do that, launch System Preferences and select the .Mac pane. Press the Advanced tab, then the Reset Sync Data… button in the lower left corner of the dialog box. Reserve the default directional data transfer from .Mac to your machine by pressing the right-facing arrow beneath the .Mac icon. This will shift directional flow so that data moves from your computer to the .Mac servers. You can keep the Replace: All Sync Data value in the drop-down menu above, or choose to synchronize only one data type [Calendars or Contacts] by selecting the appropriate value. If you synchronize them separately, you must repeat this process for the other data type.
This event will transfer a complete set of records from iCal and the Address Book to the appropriate storage locations on the .Mac servers, replacing the non-matching data currently stored there. It will not affect your continued use of the Mark/Space Contacts, Events and Tasks menu, and will not change the data stored on your handheld the next time you synchronize.

  • IOS 6 and iTunes 10.7 WiFi Sync issues

WiFi sync works for a day or two then from the device is just keeps saying Looking for Mario Michela's iMac...  I restart iMac, reboot iPhone and or iPad. connect via usb cable, uncheck WiFi Sync (apply), recheck WiFi Sync. It will work again for 2 or 3 days. Then starts to fail again.
I've tried using Eithernet and wifi on the mac (no difference)
I've tried turning off the firewall (no difference)
I've reset all setting on the iPhone (no difference)
I've reset SyncServices Folder (/System/Library/Frameworks/SyncServices.framework/Versions/A/Resources/resetsy nc.pl full) -(No difference)
I've called Apple Care 3 times, I keep getting passed around because sync is between product departments.
iOS doesn't support desktop applications, iMac doesn't support mobile devices..
I'm hoping iTunes 11 fixes this issue.. This issue didn't occur prior to iTunes 10.7.

I am getting sync issues too (although on OSX) - seems like others are getting issues too:

  • Serious Sync issues between iTunes 8.0.2 and AppleTV 2.3

    Please Help,
Everything was just wonderful until several weeks back when the AppleTV started having sync issues that seem to have degraded into oblivion. Rebooted everything, checked all software loads, tried many of the suggestions (no blocking network / firewall issues) and have even tried adding redundant port allows for any and all ports I could find going in / out of Apple TV. But to no avail there seems to be a bug that got introduced somewhere with the sync mechanisms.
The Apple TV can purchase movies, download them fast to start playing, view youtube videos just fine and play all of the media great, So can my Mac and all media / iTunes functions work well it even syncs with my iPhone / iPods well.
However... The only way I can get the AppleTV to sync is to reboot it, then it will sync some, iTunes will just get to a forever syncing with Apple TV state (which you have to stop), reboot AppleTV again, it will sync some more, until it stops, iTunes is stuck syncing forever with AppleTV again, repeat and rinse about 4 more times and you have it all synced.
If there isn't anything to sync when AppleTV boots the Sync in iTunes just spins for ever. I actually left it for 4 days just to see if it was actually doing anything. Minimal Network IO and of course it never finished.
If I stop the Sync with Apple TV in iTunes and then try to reinitiate it from iTunes I get the 3986 port error (which is bogus) unless there is some hidden setting somewhere in the OS that I can't find. And if there was a problem then why would it start and run when I boot the Apple TV.
It just seems that all of a sudden things started going wrong with Sync with no real change other than 'software updates' .
The only thing I haven't tried is to do a factory reset on the AppleTV which from what I have read doesn't really solve anything.
So, please someone from Apple or someone with some detailed technical experience provide some guidance on whether there is a bug that got introduced, version issues between iTunes/AppleTV, or something else going that I haven't been able to figure out over the last 2 weeks.
The only other unique things that may be different is that I have my iTunes library on an external drive (not on the internal drive). Does this many any difference?
Thank You in advance to anyone that can help me get to the bottom of these issues. This started happening when I was totally sold on AppleTV and about to buy a second one.
    mmilford

And it's good to know I'm not the only one with the problem too! I just cannot sync stuff from Mac to Apple TV without it locking up. It actually seems to lock the wifi also, meaning I have to quit iTunes, turn off the wifi and then turn it back on again. But as soon as I open iTunes, the same problem again...
I've tried everything I can think of, searched all help articles, but cannot sort out this somewhat annoying problem.

  • Myriad iTunes sync issues - song cutoffs - artwork problems - yeech!

    Hi all,
I’m running the latest version of iTunes on a (late 2013) Macbook Pro Retina laptop, and having several different flavors of syncing issues with my two devices –  a 16 gb iPhone 4S running iOS 7.1, and a 32 gb iPod Touch 3rd Gen running iOS 5.1.1.
As best I can tell, some syncing issues such as one of the ones I am experiencing (songs chopped-off when transferred and attempted to playback from the device) have existed in some way, shape or form for nearly 10 years now, so I’m not expecting any grand revelations here - but just looking for some honest advice on how to resolve in the shortest amount of time & with the least pain considering I have a fairly large music library in terms of syncing time required.  That being said, below bulleted-out are my current issues / frustrations / thoughts on where the problems may lie.   I would appreciate any advice:
Purchased iTunes songs (ripped MP3’s from CD’s that I own and tracks from other sources do not seem to have the problem…) play fine in iTunes on my laptop, but when transferred to either my iPhone or iPod, they will randomly (it’s not every track) be cutoff near the end of the song.  Sometimes the song will stop with 2 minutes remaining and go silent. Sometimes it will stop with 15 seconds remaining and go silent.  Sometimes it will stop somewhere in that time range and start the next track on the album while still displaying the info from the previous track.  The only solution I have found to this for purchased content thus far is to wipe everything out, and go back and download the tracks from the cloud.  I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000 tracks that fall into this category, so my options to download directly to the device an artist at a time are kind of time-consuming and cumbersome.  Would this have something to do with the file format of purchased tracks vs. ripped ones? I have a lot of older ripped material that was imported as MP3’s or MP3’s converted to M4A’s that never seems to have this problem.  The newer purchased files are mostly ACC’s which DO have the problem.   Also would this have anything to do with the fact that my library (including most of the purchased content) was recently moved over and imported to a new Macbook from a Windows backup?  Most of my iTunes library was Windows / PC for the majority of its existence for the past decade or so; we only recently switched back to Mac.
Discrepancies between deleting material on a device vs. what iTunes recognizes when it is plugged back in:  The other day, being frustrated with the random song chopping, I deleted everything on my iPod Touch 3rd Gen by going into Settings, Options, General, and “Usage” and then “Edit” and selecting to wipe out everything in iTunes. The device appeared to do this, and I was showing 28 gb or so free out of 32 once it completed.  Great, right?  I proceeded the rest of that day to painstakingly download approx. 900 tracks from the cloud onto the device, hoping to correct the chopping issue.  It did this, and I still had roughly 10 gb free. Great, right?  Later that night when I plugged the iPod into my Macbook with the 30 pin to sync, iTunes on the laptop for some reason still recognized the songs which I thought I had deleted hours earlier and showed me multiple copies of everything.  For the ones that had been deleted, when I clicked to play them on the iPod through iTunes, I got the little gray exclamation point - ! – in a circle like when a track has moved libraries and cannot be found.  iTunes then told me my sync could not be completed due to being over capacity on the device by a ridiculous 12 gb or something like that. Huh?? I could have gone through and manually deleted the (by that point more than 1000) duplicate tracks and synced to have made room I suppose – but after accidentally hitting Autofill – iTunes threw up its hands and would not let me do anything further.  Any attempts at that point to delete either pending Autofill tracks or missing duplicate tracks just led to endless spinning on the “Preparing Update” notice on the device which led to me having to kill iTunes.  Can you say big-time frustration?  I eventually opted to restore the iPod to factory (iOS 5.1.1) settings and start over.  That device is currently at home slogging through the process of attempting to re-download 400 some songs from the cloud over wi-fi so that I can avoid the cutoff track problem.  The plan after that is to sync playlists for certain artists over top of the purchased tracks so that my ripped tracks can merge with them to round out the playlist. Do you see how this is beginning to become a marathon?
Last but not least - it seems to be just since the last few iTunes upgrades for Mac, but I’m having a huge problem suddenly with album artwork staying synced properly. After one recent manual transfer session (30 pin between the iPhone and the Macbook) roughly half of the tracks I transferred had mismatched artwork.  Doing this through the cloud (downloading tracks “Not on this iPhone” via the iTunes app) doesn’t seem to have the same problem, but of course this takes longer. Also, what is the deal with “Show All Music” in iOS 7 and playing tracks from the cloud?  This is a really cool feature that allows you to save a ton of disk space on your device, but I have found that when I do this that many tracks have mismatched artwork.  For example right now I’m listening to a Grateful Dead song that is displaying Genesis artwork.  Huh?? Artwork is less of a big deal than the track lengths being chopped off, but it’s still annoying.
iTunes revolutionized the music industry and on the whole has been fantastic.  But it seems as if lately, little irritating problems like the syncing issues are becoming more and not less prevalent, and the problem is they aren't being dealt with.  I got my first Mac in college nearly 20 years ago now, and have been generally entrhalled with Apple products ever since.  But I have to say that this kind of junk lately is more what I would expect in the vein of problems from the shoddy-PC world that seem to linger and never get fixed.  Cupertino folks - what's the deal???

You're not the only one judging by the forums!
Likewise I have been using Apples since the Apple IIe(!) and have found them great in every respect. iTunes however over the past couple of years has deteriorated to th point of being unuseable. Apple has made iTunes the hub of your digital life and so it really has to work seemlessly.
I currently have had to completely wipe and re-install my 64Gb iPhone 4s several times to get my music back on to it. I cannot het any playlists to sync which is really annoying and it generally undermines my faith in Apples software quality.
Please put whatever resources are necessary to fix this soon Apple or you will certainly start to haemorrhage customers to other platforms. After all if iTunes remains broken then what's the point of paying the extra for Apple qulaity? You may as well uplaod ebverything to Google play and be done with it!
