Macromedia Contribute - Slow Connection issues

Dear Friends,
I am new to Macromedia Contribute 3.11, i am experiencing lot of issues at the moment.
Firstly, it takes a long time to connect to the server, most of the times it connects to the server, sometimes it fails, but the time it takes to connect to the server is unacceptable.
Secondly, contribute is taking a long time to publish the webpages.
I am using Windows 7, when I ran the compatibility check, it said incompatible detected, and suggested to change to Windows XP Service Pack 2. I did that, but still the issue persists...
Any suggestions or recommendations would be really appreciated.
Many Thanks
Sats

A bit more info:
On my computer Network Interface link speed on en0 is 100 Mb and on en1, it is 54 Mb.
My friend's is 0 on en0 and 54 on en1.
Is there something I can do here? Thanks

    Hi,
To speed up RDP connection, please select High Color (16 bit) under Colors, and under Experience tab, select Modem (56 Kbps).
To make IE fast, safe and stable, please attempt to run this fixit below:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/ie_performance_and_safety
Also, you can use UI responsiveness tool to dig into what is happening in F12 developer tool in IE11.

  • IPhone 6 wifi slow/connectivity issues

I am new to the Apple family, and i just bought the iPhone 6. I am experiencing frustrating amount of WiFi problems with this phone. I updated to iOS 8.1 last night hoping the problem goes away but it still persists.
I am connected to the home WiFi, but the webpage loading/receiving Whatsapp messages/accessing App Store is mind-numbingly slow on a good day, and refuses to load anything when i desperately need it. My WiFi works perfectly with all other devices connected on the network. Including my old phone.
I have tried all the methods i could find online.
    Turn Wi-Fi off and on
Forget WiFi network and connect again
    Reset Network Settings
    Change DNS
    Restore from iTunes Backup
    Restore as a new device
    Turning router off and on
    Network is on WPA2
Frankly, i have had it with Apple. I am regretting buying this. I am burning through my LTE data, and with more than 20 days on the month cycle and less than 1 gig of data left, i am looking at a huge amount for the mobile bill if the issue doesn't get sorted soon.
Is there any other suggestion? Any other idea? Or will i just have to smash this piece of crap to bits and cry over dollars spent over nothing?

I should add that after backing up my data from my old iPhone 5 through iTunes and then migrating the data through iTunes to my new iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 seemed to recognize WiFi hotspots I'd previously used with my iPhone 5, but didn't take the passwords with it. That is, for each WiFi hotspot, it would try to connect to the hotspot but would tell me that the password was wrong/had to be re-entered. I wasn't sure whether this was a bug or whether it was somehow by design; and I assumed that, if it were a bug, it was unrelated to the issues I mentioned in my previous post. Now I'm less sure that they're unrelated.

  • Contribute 4 connection issues

I have read all the other forums to try and fix my
problem. I stupidly tried to change something in the permissions on
our website using Contribute 4 and now I can't access it at all.
The FTP settings are good as I can access them using coffeecup. I
removed Contribute from the pc, reinstalled and tried to make a
connection to our website using the same access codes, password etc
and get to the remote pathway window on the connection wizard, it
comes up with the error " The server is unable to create a
directory. Please verify that you have sufficient permission to
create a directory." I am very frustrated with this system!!!!!!
PLEASE - can someone help me !!? Our website urgently needs
updating and I cannot get into it.

Maybe it's also wise to contact your ISP and ask if they
changes anything on the server that could be the cause of this.
What did you change in setting permissions? Are you referring
to the fact that you are working with an older version of
Contribute and changed permissions using a trial version of en
newer version Contribute? If you used a trial of CS3 to administer
a website managed by an older version of Contribute you have a
problem, after you administer a site in CS3 you cannot administer
that site anymore in the older version. Visit this post in

  • Yet another slow connection issue

My broadband speed is totally unreliable - and from a quick scan of the forums it seems I'm not the only one!
Much the same as numerous other posters, I'm paying for up to 8meg broadband but typically getting far less than that.  Being in a rural location i appreciate that the local phone exchange probably isn't the most high tech facility in the world, but we're only 2 miles away from it and the speed tester has recorded up to 7meg on occasion.  Today, and this seems to be an increasingly frequent occurence, the speed tester says "your IP profile is 250k".
We had an engineer out 3 weeks ago for the same problem but he could find no faults at the house, said there were no reported faults on the local exchange and the morning before he arrived the IP profile had already been reset to a more usable level.  Rang the call centre again today and after wasting about an hour trying to explain the problem then waiting for him to check things and call me back, then explaining the same thing over again, absolutely nothing has been resolved and they want to send out another engineer.
I have a couple of very simple questions which the customer services team seem incapable of answering:
    1. what is the reason for my IP profile being set so low?
    2. what needs to be done to fix it now?
    3. what needs to be done to stop it happening again?
I don't think the guy I spoke to actually knows what an IP profile is, let alone how to resolve a problem with it.  What is the point of a technical support helpline when the staff quite obviously have no technical knowledge?!

Have spent another hour of my life on the phone to BT helpline this afternoon.
Apparently the reason we hadn't received the call back yesterday was due to a "technical issue" at their end and the request had not been passed on to the engineer team.
Having gone through exactly the same conversation and process as on Tuesday, the helpline chap has run his tests and when pressed told me that he could determine no faults on the line.  An engineer might be able to determine other faults though so he would like to book an appointment for an engineer to call.
Unfortunately, even though I've waited 2 days for this already because they didn't pass on the engineer request the other day, they can't do anything to prioritise the call so I've now got to wait up to another 48hrs for somebody to ring me to book the appointment.  As its Thursday now, that probably means that it could Monday before that happens and therefore probably the middle of next week before the engineer actually gets to the house.  So another week of broadband that is barely faster than dial up.

  • Very SLOW connection - 5 mbps download

Since November, 2014, I've been experiencing very slow connection.
    Redlands, CA 92373
5 mbps download 30 mbps upload
Called the call center 5 times. Each time, just a bunch of rebooting the router & speedtest.net checking
A new Verizon router was installed and didn't improve anything.
Technician 1 visited and mentioned that there is a network hardware problem in the area and many people called in for slow connection issues. The technician rebooted the ONT box and said if the speed goes down again, the ONT box should be replaced. The speed went down as soon as the technical left.
Technician 2 visited and replaced the ONT box. Later that day, the speed went down to 5 mpbs for download.
It's so slow at the time of writing this that Facebook page is rendered with texts only.
Are there anyone from Redlands, CA area who have been experiencing the slow connection for a while?
I don't want to call in again to go thru another around of 1 hour long rebooting / resetting the router and chekcing the speedtest.net exercises.
I feel I am being ripped off because I am paying for 75/75.
I'm running out of patience and am considering to switch to Timewarner.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

  • Slow speedes and connection issues within home net...

    Hi.
I have the black home hub and the white modem... So it's not the latest equipmet. I have to restart the router a couple of times a day due to the following problems......
Slow connection to the Internet and unable to play video etc.
Also I'm unable to locate my Apple TV for AirPlay as well as locate my chromecast.
I've not done any real testing apart check the wifi channels in this area and the channel I use seems the be the best option.
I'm assuming there is a problem with the BT hub, as when I reset it my iPads find the Apple TV when the BT hub has been restarted. My chromecast then also works a bit better and general web browsing may work a little better for a while.
It looks like my BT Hub is slowing my LAN down as connection is not being made to the Chromecase or the Apple TV is not found.
What do I need to do now? Can I have one of the new BT Hubs please?
    Thanks,
    Ian.

    Hi Ian_watson
Thanks for posting, that does sound like a wireless problem as restarting the hub refreshes the wireless channel but this is not recommended as the restarts may cause DLM to think there is a fault on your connection and slow it down.
Have you tried manually changing the channel and switching off smart set up in the hub manager to see if this helps?
Alternatively if you need to refresh the wireless channel try these steps instead of restarting the hub.
Enter http://bthomehub.home in your web browser
If this is the first time you have visited the Hub Manager you'll be asked to change the password.
Click on Settings and enter your password if required.
    Click on Wireless.
In the Wireless Channel section click on Refresh.
The Hub will check the wireless channels and after about a minute will have chosen the best one.
    Thanks
    Neil

  • Error Message You must install macromedia contribute version 2.0

I am trying to use the functionality from Dreamweaver to
connect to Contribute and Administer the web sites. I keep getting
the error "You must install Macromedia Contribute version 2.0 or
later to administer a site. Would you like to install Contribute
    now?"
I am running Contribute CS3 and Dreamweaver 8. Is there a
    patch for this issue?

Yes, that could very well be the problem. All sorts of issues
rise when the administrator has a lower version of Contribute. When
a site is administered in CS3 you cannot administer the site in a
lower version at all. Upgrading yourself would be the best policy I
think. I always upgrade when the newer version arrives to avoid
these issues and set the compatibility settings to
    Transitional.

  • Windows Domain Controller on Windows Server 2012 R2: Hyper-V roaming profiles not loading due to slow connection

I have racked my brain and done everything that I know to do for about two weeks now.  I am setting up a new system at our fire department and I am having the worst luck with getting the workstations to login to the domain controller with roaming
profiles.  It keeps telling me that the roaming profile could not be loaded because of a slow connection.  These are workstations that are connected directly to the switch that the DC is connected to.  I have tried multiple connections regarding
the layout (DC into the router, router into the switch).  The router is a Cisco RV220W.  I have two VLANS, one for public and one for private domain.  The Private VLAN has DHCP turned off since I am providing it through the DC.  I currently
have a connection from the Private VLAN going to the unmanaged switch that the workstations and server are plugged into.
The server is a Dell PowerEdge R420 that has 6 NIC ports (1 dual port and 1 quad port).  I have a virtual switch setup on Hyper-V for an external port (let's say Card 2 Port 3) that is assigned to the WS 2012R2 Domain Controller.  The DC can see
the internet fine and the workstations can connect to the shared folders on the server.  I can retrieve files by just using the computer name or FQDN.  The DC is also running DNS and DHCP.  The DNS has the _msdcs setup from when I installed
the active directory role.  I have attempted to assign static IP addresses to the workstations:
    IP:                     10.0.0.80
    Subnet:             255.255.255.0
    IPV4 Gateway:  10.0.0.1
    IPV4 DNS:        10.0.0.12
I've attempted "append the specific DNS suffix", I've "registered the connection in DNS", I've used "use this connections suffix in DNS registration".
    The server is assigned:
    IP:                     10.0.0.12
    Subnet:             255.255.255.0
    IPV4 Gateway:  10.0.0.1
    IPV4 DNS:         10.0.0.12
The DNS entries have forwarders that forward to my ISP DNS servers for lookup
I've enabled and disabled DHCP, I've installed a new VM just to create another DC to make sure that I didn't goof up when I created it.
I've lost my patience with this project and am sinking fast.  Can someone please offer some advice as to what I've done wrong?  I've created this exact scenario at work many times but, I've never done it with Windows Server 2012.  Is this
possibly something to do with the Dell PowerEdge server (Generation 12) with the SR-IOV?  I am going to attempt to work on it some more tomorrow when I get over there.  I think there may be an issue with the SR-IOV not being enabled on the machine
through the Dell Bios.  Would the SR-IOV really cause the workstations to report a slow connection?  When I login at the domain controller the roaming profiles and folder redirection work fine so, I know the GPO settings are correct.  I don't
have "ignore slow connections" or any of those GPO's set.  I need to get it working the correct way so, I didn't want to fool the server when there is another underlying problem.  Any help that someone can offer, I am more than willing
to listen.  If you need more information, please ask.
    Thanks,
    Jay

So, I've managed to research this some more since Thursday and I've come to the conclusion that Hyper-V does a horrible job of supporting Qualcomm NIC cards. That's the only thing I can conclude as far as where the issue is originating. I've read many
post and walkthroughs but nothing that has helped. The issue wasn't with any settings in the domain controller. The issue was that there really is a slow connection originating at the domain controller that is a VM and has network connectivity through the
virtual switch from Hyper-V. So, next question is, how do I get the DC to have better connectivity through the NIC that Hyper-V won't give it? If hyper-v would allow passthrough, this would be so much simpler. VM-ware is looking really good at this point.
Im disappointed in MS right now.

  • Very Slow Connection

    Hi
Does anyone else have these issues? And BT, please read all of this message...
Firstly, none of my queries have been answered or dealt with by BT, secondly, I have done the suggested ‘steps’ to resolve my issue over 30 times. When my upload speed is faster than my download speed, then something is wrong when my current connection is: Download: 224 kbps/Upload: 448 kbps…
Really? Average Broadband Speed in the UK
OK, it’s like this… I ordered BT in April 2012 and your website stated that Infinity would be available for me in August of 2012, either way, 12 months later I’m still waiting. As a point of interest, you have changed your Infinity statement recently to state “Fibre optic broadband is estimated to be in your area between March 2013 and June 2013. Please note that these dates have been provided by our supplier and are estimates. Dates may be subject to change due to factors outside our control such as; delays agreeing cabinet locations with your local council or unforeseen issues encountered during the construction of your street cabinet.” Is this because too many people are complaining that you have miss-sold your services? A quick forum search online says yes! I have attached screenshots from the old message that I saw when ordering.
    New Message:
    Old Message:
So, after I placed my order in April 2013, A BT Engineer comes to my home, puts in a new line. I connect to said new line via the Ethernet cable provided in the box for my new BT Hub. Now with all connection issues, I have swapped out the cable for others and always reverting back to the provided cable by BT when I still get the same rubbish results. My computer has been formatted 4 times, the last was to do a clean installation to Windows 8. No matter what OS I have installed, I still get really terrible speeds. For my area, it states I should get an estimated and whopping “2Mb-6Mb” download speed range. My copnnection has dropped, slowed to a crawl and even disconnected me for hours, this is every week since the line has been installed.
I have worked in the IT industry as a network engineer and I’m tired of BT’s argument that the fault is my own and that you shirk the responsibility when it’s you’re equipment and your installation that I’m using. SO, How can it be the wiring in the house when I connect to a wall socked that you installed (and is literally 46 inches away) and a hub that you sent to me? Now, I have so much noise on my line that at times I cannot hear people who call me. If I answer the phone or make a phone call, my internet connection just drops and I get the, oh so familiar, orange flashing light on my BT Home Hub. I have had many noise margin resets.
I have spoken to over 30 representatives, at least 10 of them reading from notes and scripts and most did not read my call or problem history, including the last response from a tech guy. Yes I have changed my ADSL Filters, both that came with the HUB and 2 different ones that I went out and bought (at my own cost). I took of the face plate on my wall socked and I am using the test/master connection. I have changed all the cables and swapped them back. I have done everything possible and yet my problem remains.
After I complain and someone checks my line, I get a steady connection (Download) at around 4.125 kbps for about 4 days, then the problem comes back again, so this tells me that it is not my home wiring or equipment, but the steady connection from the pole to either the street cabinet or the datacentre/exchange.
All I want is a stable internet connection, if I can’t have infinity yet, so be it, but I want a stable connection. Is that too much to ask?
On contacting BT they advised me to do the following (Again)
BT Stated: That they've checked my line today and the results would suggest that there should be no problem with my broadband performance Well of couse it's working now because they did a noise margin reset and 4 days later, back to snail pace (this happens every time they do a niose reset). I AM syncing at the exchange and have a stable line connection. The latest speed test results show a downstream sync rate of around 4.2mbps, which is within the accepted range for your line. If your broadband is performing as poorly as you've explained, it may be because of a slow throughput problem within the property.
Then they suggested I do try the following (also again):
It is very important that you please try the following steps and monitor for 48 hours, even if you have already done some of them:
Please try your broadband hub and adsl filter directly into your internal test socket of your main telephone socket (remove the bottom plate of your socket by undoing the 2 screws). If your socker doesn`t split in two, then please unplug all equipment from all extension sockets and try your hub and filter and ethernet cable direct to the master socket front plate.
Please reboot your hub (push pen nib into pinhole on back of your hub for 10 seconds and release).
Please change the adsl filter if possible.
Please try with an ethernet cable (yellow ends) instead of wireless connection.
Please try a different computer if you have one.
You can also run a speed test on the BT speedtester website. Please do this whilst in internal test socket (or master socket front plate) and using ethernet cable and monitor for 48 hours.
They also appreciate my co-operation in doing the above tests and if my broadband is still performing poorly after completing the above (again which I have done over 30 times), then I will need to send a broadband engineer to your property, but this visit should then be free of charge, as you would`ve eliminated all your own internal equipment and wiring from being a possible cause of the fault, so please email back to us if you require a broadband engineering visit.
    My previous problem was this:
I woke up this morning and after an hour trying to get connected, I received an email from my boss telling me that he has to let me go because I can’t submit my work on time. This is all due to crappy slow speeds and drop-outs from BT. So thanks for that. Saying I am now very angry is a pure understatement!
I am now going to write to Ofcom and your head office and I will now change providers. You miss sold me with the hope of getting Infinity and a year later, I’m still waiting. Less than 1mbps for daily internet is pathetic. I work from home and as a Visual Effects artist I download and upload massive files and I have struggled. There’s no point getting a business line because my speeds will still be the same.
Also, I was informed by one of your representatives that I didn’t need to pay the reconnection fee and a late fee that I occurred last month because it took YOU 5 days to switch me back on after I paid my bill in full (and each of the 6 reps I spoke too couldn’t understand why my services was not restored). I was also informed in my last email from BT that you have no record of this and I still have to pay, well I’m very insulted and I’m sorry, it’s what I was told so I will not be paying it.
The service I have received has been terrible. Your support people don’t really help me and I get canned answers and brush offs and crappy excuses that would fool most people. The line and connection speed is not worth the money I pay for it each month.
Its 2013 and BT still doesn’t have super fast broadband for everyone. At the moment, it would be faster to send an email printed out and strapped to a pidgin and please spare me your excuses about planning permission and estimated dates (which you keep changing each month. Why can’t you just say you don’t know when Infinity will be available instead of getting people like myself to sign up with the home that it will be available shortly). You simply do not care about your customers. My neighbours all have the same issues, so I know it’s not just tied to me. The last lady I spoke too told me that the fault was on my end. Well my Phone and Hub are connected directly into the box that YOUR engineer installed for me and you have the nerve to tell me that I have to pay for an engineer to come out? Not a chance, especially now that I have no job thanks to your poor internet and support.
So I have now had enough.
    M Knight.
    Michael Knight

    Hi Conrad.
Thanks for the message. I've had BT looking into line problems for a year now, and they want ME to may for an engineer to come out (untill my last complaint where they stated that one will come out for free, but I'm still awaiting a reply from BT about that).
As for being stuck with the connection, well I'll fight BT in court because I am not getting my monies worth and at £26 a month and a download speed of 224kbps is terrible. I don't really want to have to change providers because it's a hassle, but I feel I have no choice. Virgin is in my area with 100mbps, so why am I putting up with such dire connection speeds. If I wait till December, I can cancel, but mhy should I have to wait when I am not getting a good service?
I feel your pain with dates being pushed back, dangling a carrot infront of a donkey if you ask me.
    Thanks.
    Mike.

In most cases such themes has been discussed a lot of time here maybe you should not wait only for someone but should use an advanced search option and could search and read in similar threads for possible solutions
    Regarding your issue:
    > i do have the latest updates and still nobody from you tried to help me to get a fix , why dont you guys belive it? when i said look at google.com and write windows 7 wireless probblem or slow down my wireless, this is a KNOWN issue with windows 7 .
Firsty you said that you are sure it's Win 7 issue
    >i have asked around everywhere and they all say it is NOT windows 7 issue it must be the manufacter driver issue .
Now you are saying it;s notebook issue....
So what is your possition now????
How it could be a manufacturer issue if the speed is faster using WIn XP??? For me it make no sence...
However, I googled a little bit an found this:
Tweaking Windows 7 for Faster Online Connections
    http://www.brighthub.com/computing/windows-platform/articles/58522.aspx
You can also try to speed up the IE 8
For that use the command: regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
This should be typed in RUN
    Then reboot the notebook.

  • Hard Drive Connection Issue on MacBook Pro

    Hi,
A couple weeks ago my MacBook Pro was running and suddenly went into a non-stop pinwheel freeze. After waiting a few minutes I decided to do a manual shut down and when I attempted to reboot it, I just got a blank white screen that wouldn't go away and then a blinking question mark folder when I tried it again. Luckily I already had an external HardDrive Dock so I removed my Hard Drive, used the system startup Disc that came with the computer to redirect the start up disc, and I've been able to boot my MacBook from the Dock since then through a USB cable. So I have a temporary fix, but of course it requires a lot of set up, it's a slower connection, and is less convenient when I take my laptop from place to place.
What I want to do is replace the connection between the Hard Drive and I my MacBook but I want to make sure that I purchase the right part. My MacBook is two or three years old now but it runs fine (besides these issues) and is fast enough for all of my needs. My Macbook is a MacBookPro5,5 with an Intel Core 2. I believe it is a 15 inch model. I'd like to avoid taking this to the Apple Store if possible because I have a limited budget and this should be a pretty simple repair as long as I'm replacing the right part. Can anyone tell me what the probable part is that I need to replace?
    Thanks,
    Todd

SuperDuper is not compatible with Leopard, but CCC 3.0.x is.
Put the new drive in an enclosure and connect it to the computer. Prep the drive by partitioning and formatting with Disk Utility. Clone your existing system using either the Restore option of Disk Utility or CCC (CCC is a bit faster.) Test the clone to be sure it boots the computer. If all is well then replace the old drive with the new one and put the old drive in the enclosure.
Bear in mind that doing this yourself is not approved by Apple.

  • Ethernet connectivity issue with Microsoft Small Business Server (SBS)

Just recently updated my OS to Yosemite, and am now having ongoing problems connecting to my company's Microsoft Small Business Server (SBS).
I'm having no other issues connecting to outside server's via wifi or ethernet, but once I connect to our local business server I lose internet connection and also my email account goes offline (Microsoft Outlook 2011). Sometimes the connection will intermittently return, but will be very slow and won't load images. I had no connection issue's before the update.
    Anyone experienced a similar problem?

"That depends on what what resources you use the server for."
    - I will be using the printer for print sharing and file sharing. There is an estimating application I will load on a Mac Mini and will want to share that to other desktops.
