Mail-check indicator?

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion, I have noticed that the mail-check indicator in the Mail Activity area (under the mailboxes) no longer comes on.
It still shows a status bar when mail comes in or goes out; I'm talking about the indicator that Mail is checking for new mail.
I kind of like to see it. Has it been discarded or is there a way to make it viewable?

There are no indications of that anymore, and I don't know of a way to change that. If it fails, it will display an error message.

  • TS3276 As an email is being send the mail activity indicator is showing that more than one email is being send....what is going on here? Thanks

Question: As I send an email, the mail activity indicator is showing that more than one email is being sent! Last time it was 5 even though I was only sending one and there were no other emails in the out box! What's going on here I ponder?

Several time in the past, similar question was asked in the forum, for example check the link and reference OSS notes mentioned in it. You can also search the forum, if you need further info on this topic.

  • Second display control & E-mail checking

Anyone got this feature to work.  If I try to initiate mail checking from the start menu, all programs, second display control, mail checking after filling in the panel it fails with a "failed to connect" message. Can find no help info for this feature. Anyone tried it with any success?

Fair enough, then how do I close out that last E-Mail from being displayed, without closing out the program?

  • No Mailed Check received for My Return

I returned 3 iphone 6 to the Apple Store at Los Gatos, CA
on Oct 1, 2014 and I was promised to receive 3 mail checks before Oct 7th by the manager.
However, I still have not received my checks today and since I have been relocated to another country, it’s extremely difficult and inconvenient for me to call the store. I told the manager specifically that I will be out of states by Oct 17th and he said “ it won’t be a problem”.I don’t know what happened and why it takes so long. I generally feel satisfied about the customer service of Apple but this time I’m very disappointed.
I tried to contact apple but there is no way for me to use email. I'm not sure if posting question here helps but it seems I have no other choices.
My email is [email protected], if anyone (maybe apple?) can help, email me, thank you.

It's not easy for me to call from another country. Plus, I had my friends call the store and after many transfers, they said " I do not have access to this information and I'll check and see what I can do". Then my friends left theirs phone numbers and never hear back from the store. They have been checking for 2 weeks after my friends called.

  • Looking for a POP mail checker for xfce4?

    Hi,
Is there any pop mail checker for xfce4? Something like mail notification ( http://www.nongnu.org/mailnotify/ )?
Oh, and I don't want to install gnome or kde stuff!
    Thanks.

    yes, for your proc-mail ^_^

  • How to disable login mail checking?

I would like to disable the mail checking on each login: I am not interested in seeing "No new mail" or else each time I login in a console. In other distributions, there was a specific setting in /etc/login.defs:
    MAIL_CHECK_ENAB = no
I do not find this option in the arch /etc/login.defs, nor it is mentioned in man login or man login.defs; trying to set it anyway results in login complianing about badformed configuration file.
I also tried to comment out both MAIL_DIR and QMAIL_DIR, but without success.
Is there an other method to get this result? Thanks in advance for your help.

I have finally solved this issue, after only 4 months (it was my first issue using archlinux). Since the most part of shadow functionality is managed by pam, /etc/login.defs is not used at all. I had to edit /etc/pam.d/login. I had to comment out this line in that file:
    # session optional pam_mail.so dir=/var/spool/mail standard
I am very satisfied, I hated those unuseful "No new mail"

  • C3 - automatic e-mail checks fail

My C3 is supposed to check my e-mail automatically, and send me a notification if there is any mail. However, this doesn't work. No automatic checking, no notifications. I tried everything: sounds are on, battery is fully loaded, memory is available, settings for e-mail checks are 00:00 to 00:00, very fast loading of e-mails...
Manual loading works OK, but I want automatic loading!
I did a hardware reset, reloaded the software, no effect. What else can I do? Please help!

    thanking you

OMJX is for MIGO ( SPRO -> MAT MGMG--> Inventory mgmt --> Setting for enjoy transaction --> Setting for goods movements -->Field selection for migo).
You can also define field selection based on Movement types used the next node to above path (T code -).
You can define Field selection based on mvt type for usual t codes.
OMBW is the T code where you can define field selection settings for Goods Issues.
OMCJ is the T code where you can define field selection settings for Goods Reciepts.

  • Mail checking interval through the day and weekends?

I'm used of working with Windows mobile, I synced my mail with the exchange server from the office, it checked during weekdays from 8 am till 10 pm, the other hours it was on manual. I'm now a very happy iphone user, but I'm really missing this feature, I get mail all the time, so also during the night :\ I really don't want to wake up for some stupid spam mail. Is there a solution for getting the mail check interval planned?

  • Apple mail will not recieve emails without delay. Going offline is not working. Connection Doctor is successfull. Mail check set to every minute.

I am using Apple mail on my Imac. My emails are coming in but always late...the delay varies from 15 minutes to over an hour.
Im using imap...email hosting is via Godaddy. (imap.secureserver.net)  I would normally blame Godaddy, but I use the same account on my Iphone... yet their is no problems whatsoever. I set them up using the exact same information.
    - Mail check is set to every minute.
    - Connection Doctor successfully connects right away for both incoming and outgoing.
    - Closing the program and reopening does not work... Nor does going offline and checking for mail.
    - Check mail button does nothing...literally nothing.
    Currently using Yosemite 10.10.2
Any help would be greatly appreciated!:)

Delete the GoDaddy account from Internet Accounts (make sure to select Remove All)
Locate the Cached folder, after you find the com.apple.mail folder, delete everything inside the cache (all folders and files)
    Restart your machine
Re-add your email account from within Apple Mail: Mail - Accounts... - Add Other Account
Fill out your account info fully,  re-launch Mail

  • Turn off e-mail checking?

Is there a way to turn off the e-mail checking on the BB?  I sit at my desk 90% of the time, right in front Outlook, so if an e-mail comes in I know it pretty quickly.  There is really no need for my BB to receive the e-mail as well unless I leave my office.  So, is there a way to turn off e-mail checking, then turn it back on when I leave my office (and shut down Outlook)?
    Jesse

Again, an imperfect suggestion, but I just open my sound profile and turn off email notifications while I'm at work.  Then back on again when I'm away from my computer.  Messages still get delivered but it doesn't ring.  To be honest, I always forget to turn the sound back on but I still seem to notice emails when I'm doing other things (phone calls, SMS, etc.).

  • XP Productivity Centre/Message Centre's Mail Checker

Been using Thinkpad for some time now and recently I been going through stuff in Program Files and for the first time found a neat thing called a Mail Checker in the Producitivity Center folder (never knew it existed). Went about some experiment and research only to found out it only "works" if you have a backdrop keboard LED, which I don't have. Well I did get it to highlight blue in the Productivity Center's Message Center area but obviously I won't have any clue when.
Some confusion: I also have the separate Message Center installed so I was wondering what relationship does that have to the Productivity Center? Because I was thinking since I can't notified through the Prod. Center's Message Center maybe I can get it to pop up a bubble from the system tray... (I didn't upgrade it with Plus yet). But I have doubt that kind of relationship doesn't really exist between the two program. Any idea? Or is it really not feasible?
    Thanks.

if you open prod. cen. then click view all messages that will open this then click on preferences then  uncheck the box hide bubble mess. the messages will popup from the tray on the right they also show in thinkvantage toolbox

  • Manual mail check preference ignored

I set a preference for Mail in Mavericks to check mail manually, but Mail checks automatically anyway.  How can I get it to stop?

Apple support and they say that normal behavior for the mail app is to automatically check for mail when the app is started and waking from sleep is somehow the same as starting the app.
Mine doesn't do that, so I guess my Mail is broken according to Apple support.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Mail--loading indicator

Still looking for an answer as to what may have happened to the spinning loading indicator to the right of the inbox in Mail. I have two Macs with Snow Leopard...one has it, one doesn't. Thanks

    HI David,
You can also view activity by clicking the Hide or Show Mail Activity icon bottom left corner on the Mail app window.
I haven't seen the loading indicator since the upgrade to 10.6. Always check to make sure your accounts are ONline. From the Mac Mail Menu Bar, click Mailbox / Take All Accounts Online
