Mail issue may require re-install

I upgraded to leopard and everything was running fine. I have a POP mail account through my business server as well as two aol smtp mail accounts. Everything ran fine. However, my web host changed the server and when I edited this information, only the incoming server worked. So, I could receive mail on my business e-mail account but could not send it.
I downloaded thunderbird yesterday and put in the same account information as in Mail and everything works flawlessly. My question is, would re-installing mail fix the problem? How do I go about re-installing such software?

You don't want to re-install Mail. Try deleting your keychain items for that login. I was in a similar situation yesterday. My ISP had some trouble with mail servers and when everything was working correctly, one of my e-mail accounts wouldn't connect. All I had to do was remove the keychain entry for that account, check my mail again, and now everything is fine.

"Aperture 3.0 or later is required to install this update." 3.01 won't work

I purchased A3 as a download. I initially begin with the trial, and then I entered the activation key post purchase. A3.0 is on my computer. The program has been very buggy, slow, etc…
Now I want (and need) to download A3.01, which may correct some of these issues. The apple software update module does not recognize the need for 3.01. It did download the 3.01 RAW update, but the main 3.01 download was not offered as an option.
Next I manually downloaded the 3.01 update. However, when I then try to execute this latest update from the dmg file I get the message: "Aperture 3.0 or later is required to install this update."
Well, Aperture 3.0 is on my computer, it is licensed, and it is active. So what more can I say or do?
Some have suggested "renaming" Aperture in the root Applications folder as "Aperture". Well, A3 is already named "Aperture" in my root Applications folder. So this is a nonstarter.
Some have suggested deleting Aperture and reinstalling. Well, I did just that and I still get the same message. Interestingly, the reinstalled A3 started right up without asking me to convert the program to a full-fledged activated program. The activation key must already be lodged somewhere on the computer.
I have also rebooted the program as the last refuge for scoundrels. This also, non-surprisingly, is useless.
What next?

Just a quick note, did you rename or move the Aperture icon to your desktop? I found that Software update has problems finding Aperture if you rename or move the Aperture icon to your desktop. Hope this helps I have a habit of renaming Aperture to the latest version Aperture 3.0.1 and putting the icon on the desktop. Not sure if this is a good idea maybe some of long you Mac users can assist.

Anyone seeing this issue? Advice re how to fix?
My iphone mail app regularly requires restart to get mail flowing. That is it is running (doesn't crash) but will at time just stop getting email updates. I then have to force close the mail app (i.e. kill it) and then restart it. After restarting it the mail flows again.
Notes:
a) I do connect to Gmail for my mail - I'm using the IMAP facility for gmail currently (i.e. not the "Exchange" method)
b) I do also have the Google "Gmail" app running on my device too
c) on iPhone 3GS, latest version of IOS

I have this same problem too. I have both a hotmail and work Microsoft Exchange account setup on my iPhone and have intermitent issues with both. Sometimes the hotmail push works, but my work email doesn't push, other times it's backwards, and sometimes neither work. I can't figure it out. Usually restarting the app (closing out of the multitasking bar), and/or going into settings and disabling the affected mail account works. And to top it, I have an iPad, I'll hear the mail chime go off on my iPad, expecting it to go off on my phone....and it never does, not until I manually fetch it.
Very frustrating.

In Photoshop, if you choose Help - About Plug-in... - Camera Raw, does it say 8.6?
Seems to me there was some hiccup they found in the update process, which prompted this:
Camera Raw updates cannot be applied
I honestly don't know if the problem could apply to 8.6 as well, which is why I asked you to check to make very sure you really got it.

Hi All,
I am running into this error "Provider cannot be found.It may not be installed properly" while I am trying to connect to Oracle from Excel VBA.
I had installed both Oracle 10.1 and Oracle 10.2 in the same machine and is working with .NET applications.My .NET applications works fine.But when I try to connect from within the EXCEL VBA,it gives me this error.
This is my oracle client folder structure
Oracle 10.1 -> C:\Program Files\Oracle\product\10.1.0\Client_1
Oracle 10.2 client -> C:\Program Files\Oracle\product\10.2.0\Client_2
Oracle 10.2 ODAC -> C:\Program Files\Oracle\product\10.2.0\Client_1
As part of working around this error,I have uninstalled my 10.2 and now I just have 10.1 in my local machine.

Why do you have 3 Oracle homes?
Mutliple Oracle homes on Windows is a pain at best. Oracle's OLEDB and ODBC drivers require that their home be first in your PATH.
Generally you can have as many homes as you want, but can only USE the home that's first in your PATH, and things like OraOLEDB, being a com object, can only be installed into a single home.
In your registry, what does HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{3F63C36E-51A3-11D2-BB7D-00C04FA30080}\InprocServer32\(Default) point to (the entry for Oracle's OLEDB provider)? Is it the same home that's first in your path if you open a dos prompt and type PATH?

When I choose "Edit in" going to Photoshop CS5 I get a message saying "This version of Lightroom may require the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in version 7.0 for full compatibility. Please update the Camera Raw plug-in using the updates tool available in the Photoshop Help Menu."
This is very strange since the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw available as a legitimate plug-in is ACR 6.6. ACR 6.7, a version still not fully released, is now available and I have downloaded it and updated my PSCS5. But there is no ACR 7.0 available for download.
All that said, what I do is select "Render using Lightroom" to open the image in PS and it is just fine and opens with the edits I've done in LR4 still intact. Still, the message is a bit perplexing given what is available out there.

The raw convertor in LR4 is new and upgraded (with the new sliders and so on), ACR 6.6 is the older convertor. Discussed in other threads, e.g. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/971327?tstart=60
To be on the safe side, choose "Render using Lightroom". If you choose "Open anyway", then you'll get odd effects where some of the LR adjustments you've made won't work in Photoshop. The disadvantage of "Render using Lightroom" is that it creates a TIF copy straight away, rather than only when you save the file on Photoshop. ACR 6.7 (Release Candidate available) is supposed to fix some of the issues, but it's reported that it's not a complete fix. I've not tried it - I never use Release Candidates or Betas on production work (only on copies of images).

I have successfully installed all of my creative cloud apps with the exception being acrobat.
I cannot print from Indesign to PDF.
I have unistalled, reinstalled and still no Adobe Acrobat.
I now have to go back to Windows 8 and create the PDF's there.
Any one know how to get around this issue?

OSX has effectively killed the ability to print to pdf, (print to pdf eliminates most of the "Rich features" of current pdf).
Export from InDesign, always, excpet for the 1% of the time where you know why print to pdf would produce a better result.

More Apple Mail Issues

We have been using Apple Mail at our school for some time with few problems. We use it as the link to an outside POP3 service. Recently, as with so many other users, we have begun to have serious issues with crashing, loss of messages and issues with both sending and receiving at times. A new one has developed now. Disk Warrior was run recently and seemed to have had decent results. Upon closer inspection, it has apparently altered the modification dates of many user files and folders, as well as mail files (all to the same date: April 1, 1976). Now with mail, users are finding the message: 'The message from <[email protected]> concerning "(subject") has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it.' The account is already online. I'm not sure if this is a result of the Disk Warrior intervention, or if it is a continuation of Apple Mail issues, or both. Also, users click on one message, and another displays. If you scroll through your messages, continuous crashes occur, and sometimes all messages disappear. Fortunately, with our mail service (Gaggle), we can retrieve messages directly online.
The issues do not occur in Entourage, and I am testing a couple of other mail applications as well. So it is definitely an Apple Mail problem. I have tried many of the fixes I have seen in other posts, but with no success. Running Disk Utility or Tech Tool has no effect. Our solution for now is to just not use Apple Mail - which our users are use to.
I will be curious to see what solutions come out. This is a serious issue for many users.

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

IPad Mini mail issues

Just switch from ipad 3 and restored from iCloud. That was a mess s I had to delete old apps that shouldn't have installed. Now my mail only shown up for a few accounts. Other accounts keep asking for a password which i entered numerous times. Then is says "connecting" in the status area, but no mail shows up. I tried resting network setting, no fix. I really don't want to start this ipad from scratch because this is exactly why I paid for the iCloud upgrade...to restore my settings the way I left them.

Nevermind the mail issue. I had to reset my macmini server.

For deploying and running ADF applications do we require to install ADF on weblogic? Can only weblogic installation domain be used to deploy and run ADF applications or we have to install ADF on top of weblogic installation for deplying and running ADF applications?

URL eror "you may need to install"

I am trying to open a windows media URL to play a streaming video. I have installed flip for mac but I get the error "you may need to install additional.." and then an error.
I have 10.6.3 OSX and have purchased a Quicktime Pro License but been unable to install it... since I can't find Quicktime Player 7 anywhere in my applications directory.
Is there a way to play Windows Media URLs on the Mac?

QuickTime Player app is in the Utilities folder.
Use it to try to view WMP files (Flip4Mac required).

How to dismiss "This plug-in may require an update" warning

Like in this thread, if a Audio unit plug-in crashes during launch, GarageBand will block that plugin, presumably until a later version is installed.
An error has occured with an installed Audio Unit plug-in.
GarageBand unexpectedly quit while trying to use the Audio Unit “Magic keytar” by “Jan Hammer software LLC”.
This plug-in may require an update.
You may still desire to try to run the same plugin again, but the message (and the blocking) remains on each launch. Even when removing that plugin. Bad mojo.
The solution turns out to be simple, the plugin "blacklist" is stored in
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.audiounits.cache
that is, within the user's library folder. Simply delete this file (it's a cache, and will be regenerated) and the plugin can be run again.

Update the plugin or delete it.
Kontakt 4 is a 32 bit plugin, it won't run in Logic Pro X

We are planing to install PI and are totally new to it. Now we are asked about what are our requirements for install PI? Can anyone give some ideas on it? We are on the stage to install PI for development, not for production yet. Also, we better ask for PI 7.1 or PI 7.3? Is NWDS or CE included in the PI package? Thanks,

Actually I am the client who wants to install PI and am asked by consultant about the requirements. I have read the links provided and still not sure what kind of requirement we need to have.
From reading the documentation, I think PI7.1 has its own package and can be upgraded to PI7.3, while PI7.3 has to go with SAP Netweaver 7.3 package which includes PI, BI, SAP Portal, Web dynpro etc. PI7.1 package includes NWDS. But CE is not included in PI7.3. Please correct me if I am wrong.
We are going to migrate our current non SAP system to new SAP system and use PI to integrate local legacy system, 3rd party system with SAP system. Mostly we are going to use Idoc and web services, and may some of ABAP or JAVA proxies. So I think our requirement could be:
SAP PI 7.1 + EHP1 + advanced adapter engine + Oracle database. AS JAVA and AS ABAP would not be needed. Would that be enough for us development instance?
