Mainstage 2 on top of Logic 8 & Mainstage 1

Can I get Mainstage 2 from the App store without disturbing my Logic 8 installation? (Mainstage 1 is already installed...)

Hi
Assuming that you have logged in to the AppStore (in the Store Menu), the "buy button" should be right under the MainStage Icon (top left)

  • NW 7.3 specific - Database partitioning on top of logical partitioning

    Hello folks,
In NW 7.3, I would like to know if it is possible to add a specific database partition rule on top of a logical partitioned cube. For example, if I have a LP cube by fiscal year - I would also like to specifically partition all generated cubes at DB level. I could not find any option in the GUI. In addition, each generated cube can be viewed only (cannot be changed in the GUI). Would anybody know if it is possible?
    Thank you
    Ioan

Fair point! Let me explain more in details what I am looking for - in 7.0x, a cube can be partitioned at the DB level by fiscal period. Let's suppose my cube has only fiscal year 2011 data. If I partition the cube at the DB level by fiscal period in 12 buckets, I will get 12 distinct partitions (E table only) in the database. If the user runs a query on 06/2012, then the DB will search for the data only in the 06/2012 bucket - this is obviously faster than  browsing entire cube (even with indexes).
In 7.3, cubes can be logical partitioned (LP). I created a LP by fiscal year - so far so good. Now, I would like to partition at the DB level each individual cube created by the LP. Right now I could not - this means that my fiscal year 2012 cube will have entire data residing in only 1 large partition, so a 06/2012 query will take longer (in theory).
So my question is --> "Is it possible to partition a cube generated by a LP in fiscal period buckets"? I believe the answers is no right now (Dec 2011).
By the way, all the above is true in a RDBMS environment - this is not a concern for BWA / HANA since data is column based and stored in RAM (not same technology as RDBMS).
I hope this clarifies by question
    Thank you

  • How to show top 20 values in a Pie Chart

    Hi
We have a requirement to develop a Pie chart for top 20 Order value locations.but i am not able to plug in top 20 logic in a pie chart. This functionality (TOP N) is avilable in bar chart , but it is not avilable in Pie chart. Could some help me to implement this logic in a Pie chart.
Your help in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Laj

Not sure what you are saying here.  Obviously you have to have a place to place the distinct values, whether in another column or in the same column. That's not really a drawback, just a fact of life.
I'm curious about what you mean by "multiple columns to dynamically select some records with specific criteria from different columns."  If you can give a specific example of what you are trying to do, I there may be a solution.  Are you trying to do something like Excel's filtering on multiple columns?
If you are you can click the disclosure triangle by the column letter to get a dropdown like this:
    Similar to Excel.

  • Upgrading to New iMac 2.4 ghz from iMac 1.8 ghz G5 - Logic 8 upgrade

    Hello all,
Got a question and have not searched the forms yet for the answer but thought I would ask for a quick response....
I'm upgrading my iMac from 1.8 G5 to one of the New iMac 2.4 ghz. Will be buying this week. I had Logic 7 running on the old G5 and then bought the Logic upgrade to Studio 8.0. My question is:
When I get the New iMac do I have to install logic 7 and then install the Logic 8 upgrade?? Or can I just install the upgrade pack? Does the upgrade have to sit on top of Logic 7 in the new machine?
    Thanks
    James

All you need to install the upgrade to 8 from 7 is your LP7 XSKey, which you have to plug in during the installation.

  • How TOP query will work in SQL Server?

    Hi Experts,
While running TOP command, what internally happen in SQL Server Engine ? How its fetching TOP 10 rows from Table.
    Thanks
    Selva

That is the *logical* query processing order, which isn't the same as the *physical* processing order.
As for how SQL Server performs TOP, then as syggested it very much depends on whether there is an ORDER BY or not. Since, TOP is logically processed after ORDER BY, you change the semantics of the TOP operation a lot when you add ORDER BY. But as usual,
we can't say anything about the physcial query order with having an example to talk about. Too many involved factors, like how the rest of the query look like, the schema, what indexes we have, data distribution etc.

  • Logic crashes whenever I delete a location marker

    this is really weird.
I'm trying to delete some marker locations at the top and Logic gives me a "warning! switched to current song!"
does anyone have any idea why it's doing this?

This sounds like a stupid question but how are you deleting them? Are you using the option key and dragging them off the timeline? I only ask cos Logic or rather OSX plays a stupid little sound effect when it deletes markers in this manner. If it's trying to use the same outputs as your main audio driver there may be a conflict. Try going into system preferences>sound and uncheck 'Play user interface sound effects'.

  • Department Dimension used twice for Contribution Logical Source

How do you join the same hierarchy twice to a Logical Table given the following logical columns?
Source Department, Destination Department, Amount Contributed

    Corporate, Development, 2,000
    Hierarchy

    |- Sale
    |- Development

    Hi,
What you need to do is to add the (physical) location dimension table to the logical table source of the demographic dimension, for example by dragging it from physical layer on top of logical table source of demographic logical dimension table in bmm layer

  • Logic pro 9 quits on startup. How can this be resolved please? Checked disk utility and all seems to be ok...

    Hi
I've tried top open logic pro 9 today which I use daily and have been for the last 4 years. All software etc. is up to date. However it just quits and I get the 'logic pro quit unexpectedly' message. I've tried this several times in the last hour, including a restart and checking disk utility etc. Anyone else have the same problem? And if so, how did you resolve it please?

    Failing that....
    Please download Etrecheck from here...

  • Upgrading Power Mac G4, dual 450 Mhz, to use Logic Express 8

I am actually confessing to being a windows studying pc engineer, but am also interested in macs.
My sister has just purchased the G4, 450 Mhz, (dual) i am confused on a few things and am trying to help her!
    Basically can anyone help?
The problem is, does dual mean, that there's two processors (i am going to open it later when shes home from work and actually look!) and also, the 450 mhz, is dual, so is that 450 x 2 or just 450? I have looked about this site, and have noticed there is not much room to up the processor speed, but the goal is to get her processor speed up to a minimum of 1.25 Ghz.
Also, she wants to create her own music on a small budget, so cannot afford Logic Pro 7, it is installed on her machine but she has no key? (the guy she bought it from didnt say it needed one!)
So she now purchased Logic Express 8, but when trying to use it, the message is saying to the effect of not large enough processor speed. She has installed it on top of Logic 7, so both are now on there, will that matter?
Is the processor slot the same for the larger Mhz upgrades? if so, which are the best processors to use?
We have all the ram, she bought 1.5 GB, and large hdds, it is just this problem now, and she was in tears last night, due to the fact, every time she asks someone, she gets one step closer, gets hopeful, to find another hitch!
I am really sure i can get it workable for her, but need some apple expertise guys, sorry i know you dont appreciate windows users much, and i would own a mac, just when i can afford one!
    All help much appreciated.
    semmi

    Hi-
    Welcome to Discussions!
Sounds like you are dealing with a Gigabit Ethernet model of G4, equipped with dual 450mhz processors. It was a monster in it's day, and still has good use left in it. Problem is, 450mhz, even dual, isn't much by current software requirements.
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermacg4/stats/powermac_g4_450dp.html
As for Logic- version 7 would be usable on the machine as is. There is no problem with installing version 8 on the same system. It would be nice for her to be able to get the proper "key" to be able to use v.7. It would definitely be worth pursuing the issue with the seller.
And, as you know, to use v.8, you need more processor. Processors are a relatively easy upgrade. There are many options available, as well. One of the best buys (performance for the money) are 7455 based single processor upgrades from OWC or Fastmac:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/MEG42M1500/
    http://store.fastmac.com/advancedsearchresult.php?keywords=agp
The following are all compatible with the dual 450 G4:

  • Have you encountered this Lion\Logic desktop switching bug yet?

This is on 1.7.1, still a bug but different than what happened on 1.7
Let's say I have 3 desktops and open Logic in desktop 3 then full screen enable it. If you now initiate mission control, you will see 3 desktops AND the full screen Logic). Now let's say I swipe to desktop 3, Logic will now be visible with the menu bar on top of Logic (still in full screen mode). Swipe to desktop 2 and Logic is not visible. Swipe back to desktop 3 and Logic is visible with the menu bar on top of Logic (still in full screen mode). Swipe back to desktop 2 and Logic is visible with the menu bar on top of Logic (still in full screen mode).Swipe to desktop 1 and Logic is visible with the menu bar on top of Logic (still in full screen mode). Swipe all the way to where the full screen app should be (to the right of desktop 3) and all you see is a grey screen (in 1.7 it would be the linen background). Now you have to swipe back all the way to desktop 2 to see Logic. Guess what? Swipe to desktop 2 and Logic is visible.
    You get the point.
This does not seem to happen with the native apps in full screen mode.

facing the same epic fail issues since i bought my mac pro with Lion preinstalled and downloaded (ARGH!) Logic Pro 9 ... using an apogee rosetta as i/o and wordclock via optical .. never a problem with a G5 and Tiger... lion and logic f*** up everything (workflow?! what exactly was that?)  ... constant digi-clicks tell me that the apogee clock ist ignored, logic produces a klick with constant dropouts only and no way to sync audio to the click or whatever .....
worst is: they (e.g. apple) keeps us from downgrading to Snow Leopard, no help, no support, no responsibility ...

  • Buffer busy waits

    Hi,
    Version : Oracle 9i
I am getting buffer busy waits on some tables. Will increase in inittrans & pctfree of those tables reduce buffer busy waits?
Tablespace is having segment space mgmt auto & extent management local.
    cursor_sharing is similar.
Users are not experiencing any problem. Is there any problem other than this in statspack report?

I am getting buffer busy waits on some tables.
Users are not experiencing any problem.Looks like you got bit by the CTD troll while sleeping.
Note also that (if I'm reading the report alright) out of 23 mins you have 6 seconds accounted to buffer busy waits.

  • JOIN의 종류와 이해

ORACLE SERVER
    PURPOSE
Join
    EXPLANATION
    Join
    - outer join
    - semi join
    (2)Anti Join
    Anti-join 은 NOT IN 을 수행하기 위해 sort-merge, 또는 hash joins 을
    (colA1, colA2, ... colAn) NOT IN (SELECT colB1, colB2, ..., colBn
    FROM ...).
1> Table A 의 column reference 는 모두 simple reference 여야 한다.
또 B의 reference 역시 simple 이거나, subquery 가 GROUP BY 를 포함하
는 경우 aggregate functions (MIN, MAX, SUM, COUNT, or AVG)이어야 한
2> All column references must be know to be not null.
3> The subquery must not have any correlation predicates. That is,
predicates referencing anything in surrounding query blocks.
4> The WHERE clause of the surrounding query must not have ORs at
    the top-most logical level.
    - 2. Anti-Join 사용법
Oracle 은 NOT IN subqueries를 sort-merge 또는 hash anti-joins 으로
특정 query 에 대해 MERGE_AJ or HASH_AJ hints 가 NOT IN subquery에
MERGE_AJ 는 sort-merge anti-join, HASH_AJ hash anti-join을
    SELECT * FROM emp
    WHERE ename LIKE 'J%' AND
    deptno IS NOT NULL AND
deptno NOT IN (SELECT /*+ HASH_AJ/ deptno FORM dept
WHERE deptno IS NOT NULL AND
    loc = 'DALLAS');
    init.ora 에 ALWAYS_ANTI_JOIN 을 MERGE 또는 HASH 로 준다.
    (2) Semi Join
    (3) Outer Join
    - outer join 되는 column 에는 in, between, like, or 를 사용하지 못하며

  • Help! No sound output...

I have reached the end of my wits trying to get this stuff working. Please help...
I am using a Lynx Aurora 8 with an LT-FW (firewire 400) interface and have apparently managed to be able to input sound and record audio successfully, but as of yet have not been able to playback ANYTHING so that I can use the outputs on the interface. I made sure I had the right driver as far as I could tell and it seems to work since I can see the wave I recorded, also the sound seems to pass through the system as I can get feedback from the microphone that I am using to record with. I've updated the firmware on the Aurora 8 so it will work with the LT-FW card. Nothing seems to fix the problem. Maybe I'm an idiot who is missing something obvious.
I have used the Aurora 8 with a Lynx AES-16 on my PC for months and it works fine. I would love to be able to use the Logic Pro 7.2 that I've had for almost a year now (waiting to finally get the LT-FW card to use it with). What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?

Well you got it to record, and you see a waveform, and you hear sound with feedback from the mic, right.. This is good! Now, make sure that the I/O is routed properly.
*Chose Input 1 in the 'Input' box under the label I/O on the channel fader strip and Output 1-2 in the 'Output' box just beneath that.*
1-click the 'Rec' button on the fader ('Rec' button flashing red)
2-Talk into the mike. +(If you monitor through the hardware or zero latency software, skip to step 4.)+
3-Now turn up the 'record' fader and you should hear the mike sound that goes through the computer.
*If there's no sound then the 'software monitoring' should be enabled in the Aurora 8's audio driver in the 'Audio Hardware and Drivers' window from the 'Audio' pull down menu at the top of Logics row of windows.*
4-Record, talking into the mic to the track for a few seconds.
5-Press 'Rec' button to deactivate record ('Rec' button not flashing red)
6-Turn up what is now the 'playback' fader.
7-Rewind and press Play and you should hear your track play back.
Be aware of master output faders and make sure they are up.
If you get stuck on something just repost, we'll help you figure it out!
