Making abap query on cube

Hi all,
I need to find data on a cube loaded in delta mode, but only related to last request...
It's possible find data in this mode with an abap query?

You can find this only in the change log and you can query RSODSACTREQ for requests and look for the same in the change log.
In BI3.x atleast you could not query on the change log - this however can be done in BI7 as per my understanding... but definitely worth checking out.
I will move this to the BI forums - also please be more specific as to what kind of help you would need - the code or the scenario only ?

query has got some limitatins compared to Reports which we write using SE38
these queries are user specific and client specific and can't be transportable and you can't write your own code as you wish like reports

Query on Cube jumps to Query on ODS ; Query on ODS takes Long time

Hi All,
Perormance Issue: Query on Cube jumps to Query on ODS.
Query on ODS taking long time.(JumpQuery)
Specific to ODS Query: When i have checked the Query on ODS(individually) also taking longer time
Actually ODS contains quite huge data. Indexes already maintained.
I have checked the RSRT- Execute SQL and Debug Option also. Indexes maintained Perfectly .
Order of objects in ODS indexes are matching the order of Objects in SQL stat of RSRT Trans. Inspite of that taking long time.
I have checked both the ways jumpquery aswellas individually .
My question is when the query is jumping from cube to query on ODS how to check the performance, how the query is executing in background when switching over to the second query, Moreover calculated keyfigure has been used for jumping to the target query.
How can query(ods query) time is optimized or improve performance when jumping from query on Cube ?
can any body help?

What i understand is that you need to optimise the Query jumping time . But this will be very less compared to the time taken by the query on the ODS.
Ideally you shouldnt be making a BEx Query on the ODS , as this takes a long time. What you can do is try executing the Bex Query on the ODS to find out as to where the issue lies. If this query is taking a long time , there is not muich that you can do here.

Why you are using SQ01/02 query? you can't get all the facilities what you use in general abap program report
Query is basically intended for functional consultants to get the data by joining the tables
it is Client specific and user specific
You can't use all the events and F4 help like thing in them.

ABAP Query SUB-TOTALS by Month

Hi,
I am making an ABAP Query and I am trying to create sub-totals per month.
EX.          Quantity         Date
                    1           01/01/2008
                    2           01/02/2008
sub-total        3
                    1          02/01/2008
sub-total        1
does anyone know how i can do this? (create sub-totals based on the date field)

I dont think standard ALV subtotalling will do like this. But there is one workaround
I would suggest you to have one more column named Month. In that column save the month for that row. Then do the subtotalling based on that field Month instead of date field.

ABAp query SQ01

Hi guys,
I want to make a ABAP Query via SQ01on SAP ECC.
First i had created an infoset, that only based on one table.
My requirement is to fetch alle data from this table grouped by customer number.
Using an sql statement is this very easy to do, but in i had trouble making this in SAP (SQ01):
SELECT CUST_ID, COUNT(ORDERID)
FROM
TABLE
WHRE CONDITIONS
GROUP by CUST_ID
HAVING COUNT(ORDERID) > 1
My question is where to put my requirement in order to get result using standard ABAP query SQ01.
I will really appreciate your help.

This is not possible exactly with ABAP Query but can be easily done by ADHOC query. Using Set operation A-B.

ABAP Query display variant problem

Hi,
We have three different SAP clients development DV1, Staging ST1 and production PC1. I have created an abap query for which I m trying to create a global display variant (not user specific). I m able to do so easily in DV1 and PC1 systems. But when I try to create a display variant on ST1 by first running the report and then going to menu Settings->Layout->Save . I find that by default the User-Specific checkbox is selected and disabled. Because of this I can create only user specific display variants for my queries.
Where can I change the settings so that when I go to the above menu the User-specific checkbox is enabled and I m able to create global display variants ?

I am confuse after reading your question , any way we can adding "default" variant in SQ01. You can also assign the same variant in SE93 , when you create T-code for the specific query !!.
Well if it doesnt solve your problem ..please explain your question with the help of tr. codes and what youre trying to do !!

ABAP QUERY Report : column number change

Hi friends,
I need to modify the existing ABAP QUERY REPORT.
I have added a new field in the selection screen.
When I execute the query, it(our new filed) is displaying at the end of the columns.
But I want it to be at 8th columns. please help me.
When I try to change the out position to "8"at "Basic list" -> select check box of our field and double clict it, I am getting the following error.
Warning: Overlapping fields
Those fields overlapped by other fields will not be displayed in their entirety.
So I could not display the new field at 8 th column.
Guys. Please help me.

You have to change the position of each field after 8th column
suppose you added your new field at the 8th column position
then all the subsequent fields positions you have to adjust as per their length

Abap Query in Web Templates

Hi Gurus,
I am working on web reporting, we have a bunch of web queries that are working fine. And now my client wants to explore the possibility of displaying ABAP Queries on the web or embed them in Web templates along with the alreaday existing bw queries.
Please point me in the right direction, is it possible ?are there any documents or links that explain this ?

Hi Raj,
You have several possibilities.
a) Just replace ABAP-Queries with BW-Queries (but the customer does not want that, I assume )
b) Explore the possibility of a Remote-Cube
c) Create a BSP, where you execute and render the ABAP-Query Data and show this BSP in an iframe in your WebTemplate
These are some possibilies.

hi all,
I have added few fields in the existing info-set and mapped these new fields in the respective quries...and added code for each field.......it is working fine...
But, before executing/testing a message window is displaying saying that " query not current" -- "Difference between query and inforset"....
what I have to do more ..so that this message window doesn't come..

Have you changed the Infoset in the correct Query only
One more thing is that these queries are User specific
So you should also in the same user group to change it
there should be some mismatch between the query and the infoset you changed
