Making the TO field in DATE mandatory

i hav a select options for the date field.
requirements:
it shud work if i give the TO field only! the FROM field can be optional!

If u want the high value of the select-option should be Mandatory then try this:
SELECT-OPTIONS: SO_FIELD .... OBLIGATORY.
AT SELECT-SCREEN ON SO_FIELD.
READ TABLE SO_FILED WHERE HIGH = INITIAL.
IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
Error Message " Error Message
ENDIF.

I believe that this field is neither mandatory nor optional, it is determined and populated by SAP, according to the configuration and master data you have in your system.
You have several approaches. It is a fairly straightforward matter to put comprehensive determination conditions into the appropriate config and master data (there are a limited number of STO ShipTos and a limited number of source locations) so that the Route will ALWAYS be determined properly. This is what I would recommend.
Otherwise, you could catch it at the delivery creation phase, eg change your delivery config such that a STO delivery cannot be created without first having a Route copied into it.
Or, you could find a userexit in the STO PO creation software in which you could add some custom programming to halt the processing when no Route is determined.
There may be other solutions.

Personalizing the PERWSHRG form by making the supervisor field mandatory

I need to make the Supervisor field on the Assignment screen of the PERWSHRG form mandatory. There are many employees in our oracle system without a supervisor. I need to force the user to capture a supervisor whenever an employee is queried without a supervisor.
When an employee is queried i can make the supervisor field manadatory (yellow) on the assignment screen. But somehow oracle still alllows the user to save and then exit the record without having to enter a supervisor. Almost like the madantory field is not enforced
my current setup is
Condition:
Trigger Event: WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE
Trigger object: PERSON.LAST_NAME
Condition: :PERSON.LAST_NAME is not null and
:ASSGT.SUPERVISOR_ NAME is null
Processing Mode: Both
Actions:
Seq:1
Type: Property
Object Type: item
Target Object: ASSGT.SUPERVISOR_NAME
Property Name: REQUIRED (APPLICATIONS COVER) --and i even tried REQUIRED and REQUIRED (ITEM-INSTANCE)

At the time of personalizing the assignment form it may not work perporly as you expected because the record is created as soon as the employee record is saved on the enter and matain form. That's you are facing problem and try to do it in other way around.
1) when validate record.
2) Call a function or procedure to show error message if the user do not pass any value.
and the last option is try to built a USER HOOK to validate the same.

How to Make Field "Creation Date" Mandatory (in EP Selection Screen)

In Shopping Cart, i'd like to set Field "Creation Date" as Mandatory Field in EP Selection Screen / Criteria Maintenance.
Is there BADI or SPRO need to be maintained?

Grey out the Time field in date assignment block

Hi All,
In my project we need to create a date profile in which i need a date rule to get today date and the time should be greyed out. i tried all day event but not working out for Zdate type. I tried different date types but Time field is not greyed out ( changing time to 00:00 is possible but client needs time to be empty)

as far I understand you want to define a certain date type as read only. There are several different ways to achieve your requirement:
date profile customizing: you can set the date as read only
I did not get your requirement of the time field, you can however play around with the following display customizing:
use BAdI CRM_APPOINTMENT_BADI to influence the appointment set
enhance the UI component, using the I-getter you can change a field to read only on UI level

How can I modify supplied WP template & keep the changeable fields eg date

Sorry couldn't find any details on this. If I use one of the supplied 'letter' templates - it includes a date field which is created when I create document. If I modify the rest of this template and then save it as a template - I lose this automatic date insertion facility.
Also is there a method of automatically inserting the document name into the 'insert filename' field when the file is saved?
Has anybody written a guide on advanced template design?

It seems that the OP is facing a behaviour which was described several times.
In some Apple delivered templates, is a date field which grabs the current date when we create a new document.
This date remains as is whe we re-open the saved document some days after.
If we create a template, we may insert a date and ask it to update when re-opening the document.
If we save such a document as a template, it will apply the creation setting so, when we use it to create a document the date of this new document will continue to change on opening which is annoying.
Getting the behaviour of the Apple delivered template requires a bit of surgery in the Index.xml file of the custom template.
This trick was described several times in a Pages forum.
A quick search with the keystring *_template AND date AND index.xml_* brought the dedicated messages to the surface (of course I enlarged the time range to search to All).

   iam calling a RFC and it is a Custom and not
a pre-defined
       and now i need to show some data of the table
     in the pop-up window   in the input fields and all this
        fields should be readonly . there are about 30
       input fields and it difficult to make each and every input
field as readonly , is there any alternative that allows
me too make the all the input fields readonly.

Even I tried the same but not successful. Because your container will not have Readonly propert so only way is to do it is doing for each and every element. for this also two ways are there.
1. directly set the readonly property of each and every element in Layout tab or
2. create a context variable of type boolean and map it to the readonly property of the UI.

For the time being, "incoterms" field in XD01 (Create customer) for the domestic customers is mandatory. On the other hand, I want to make it non-mandatory. How can I do it?

Select the account grp and enter.
Double click sale data
Double click Billing
make incoterms optional

Making the comments field Required in the Workitem

Hello,
I have a GP Application wherein the initiator fills out a form which goes to the Approver using Visual Approval Callable Object.........now when the approver opens the workitem he sees the information entered by the initiator and a comments field at the bottom......we want to make this field required for them.......how can we achieve this.....while creation of the Visual Approval Callable Object i see the comments as a output parameter with the 'Is Required' checkbox option....but it is disabled and does not allow you to select it......Please help...

Standard Visual Approval CO doesnt work like that.
Either you can create your own CO.
OR
i can suggest you as follows, but it is making little complicated process.
1. Create one Action with Business Logic callable object, which will check for Comment EQ space or not and have 2 different states.
a. If Comments is blank, Go back to Approval Action
b. If Comments is entered, Proceed for further actions.
2. Set this action as target for Approval Action.

Making the Asset field editable in MIGO

If you do a GR against a PO with type ACCOUNT ASSIGNMENT = A (asset), that is , if in EKPO table the record of that PO contains a value EKPO-KNTTP = A, in the MIGO screen you find a field "Asset", in the Genral TAB of line Item Data. Can please tell me how to make that field editable?

You need to make setting for the account assignment category "A" in the SPRO mode
SPRO -> Mat mangt -> Purchsing -> Account assignment - > Maintain account assignment categor
Select the line item with "A", click on Detail and flag mark "Acct assignment changable"

Making the Default values in Infotypes

I am doing the Infotype 0009 in PA and in that Bank Account number should be mandatory . actually i have two clients 801 and 802 in 801 i wanted Bank Account number as the mandatory filed when i use 0009 and in 802 it should not be a mandatory field. We can do in the screens but when we assign in the screens it is making the Bank Account Number as mandatory in both the clients can any one tell me how to resolve this issue.

instead doing this at screen level do this at program level
use this logic in loop at screen
                  endloop.
eg: if sy-mandt = '801'.
     screen-required = 0.
     else if sy-mandt = '802'.
     screen-required = 1.endif.

Incresing the Reference field length

Hi expert
In my client the Reference field is made mandatory field to capture the vendor invoice number and this is used to track the duplicate invoice processing.But the limitation here is the field length is only 16 and many of the times it is not sufficient to entrer all the detail and the purpose of maintaing is lost because of inadequate data. We are using this field in T code FB60 or MIRO.
My query is whether we can increse the length of the field or is there any other solution. Any solution to this is welcome and will be rewarded with points.

How to find the table in which data from a structure sits

Hi,
I want to know how to find the exact table where data sitting in various structures during runtime are stored.
For instance,in ME23N we have various tabs and data in those are held in various structures. This we can see by checking the technical setting of each field.
I want to know in which table the data is actually stored for each field and how to find them.
Any other means other than using "WHERE USED" option?

After checking for technical field from the screen, when you reach out to structure, you can dbl click on the particular field's data element. From this data-element you can get to know in which tables it is used. Also if the data element refers to some master data field then you can check out its domain and in the domain you can refer the<b> value table</b> for that domain. This is what i will do if i am not sure about anything.
