Mapping with index

Hi experts:
I have a need to map based on index, but does not look like graphical mapsupports it. The input looks like:
<Data>
         <ArrayOfString>
            <string>ObjectId</string>
            <string>Form_Type</string>
            <string>Owner</string>
            <string>CompletedDate</string>
            <string>Delivered</string>
            <string>Name</string>
         </ArrayOfString>
</Data>
Depending on index of string, I need output as:
<List>
<formId>ObjectId</formId>
<GUIId>Owner</GUIId>
</List>
Is this achievable using Graphical maps?
-Feroz

hi,
>>>Is this achievable using Graphical maps?
create an UDF which will take all the strings as input
and output only the first one and the third one
that's all

  • Bit Map Join Index Creation

    Hi,
I have a db of version 10.2.0.3 on a Unix box. This is used for DW.
I have a dbms job which is basically creates 6 bit map join indexes between two tables parallelly. One of the table (Fact table) has almost 170 million data and the other one (Dimension table) has 1.2 million data. Fact table is partioned and the indexes are local index.
For the last couple of days, this job is taking almost 70+ minutes whereas previously, it used to take around 44 to 48 minutes.
My pga_aggregate_size is 50GB and temp tablespace size is 33GB.
Per day 1 million data gets populated in the Fact table.
It used to run fine earlier. One fine morning we found this performance issue.
It will be really helpful, if we get some suggesstion about the tuning options.

since you probably don't have suitable data available from those runs (by "data" I mean e.g. SQL traces with row source operation statistics, wait event information and number of I/Os etc.) where it used to be faster it's going to be hard to tell where the difference comes from since there are many possibilities.
If really nothing else has changed apart from the data volume then one possible explanation could be that the join operation that is required to populate the bitmap join index switched from e.g. single pass to multi-pass due to the increased data volume.
Another explanation could be that one of the tables used to be cached in the buffer cache (small table threshold) but has now exceeded the default 2% limit for cached table scans and therefore requires more physical I/O than previously.
But there is a multitude of other possibilities starting from changes to the software/hardware (patches to Oracle, O/S, storage etc.), concurrent processes running at the same time, changes to the logging attributes of the tablespace/database, different execution plan due to statistics change, ASMM automatic cache buffer shrinkage etc. etc.
It definitely makes sense to trace the execution now to have that information available, furthermore you could try to check if the usage of the TEMP tablespace has increased in comparison to previous runs which could indicate above mentioned switch to a less efficient pass mode of the join.
Can you pinpoint already if only particular bitmap join indexes take longer than before or all six are slower than before?
Do I understand this correctly, that you run six jobs in parallel to create the indexes, or is it one job that runs the create index statements one after the other?
And do you use the PARALLEL DDL option to create each individual index? What about LOGGING/NOLOGGING?
By the way, what is reason that you rebuild the indexes every day? Is this after a load into a particular partition to rebuild the indexes of that partition after the data load? Or is it a rebuild of all partitions?

  • Does BI 7.0 use bit map join indexes?

I have seen several threads on SDN which show that SAP BI is using bit map indexes with Oracle database. However, it is not clear whether BI utilizes bit map join indexes or just bit map index. Bit map index is on a single table whereas bitmap join index is on a join of two or more tables.
It will make sense for SAP BI to use bit map join indexes with star transformations where a join is done among fact and dimension tables.

    > Thanks. Another question, are bit map indexes used both for F and E fact tables or just for F. I am not using real-time cubes (where SAP BI uses B-Tree indexes for F table to avoid dead locks).
Why don't you simply check this in your BI system yourself?
And, yes, of course it uses bitmap indexes for both fact table types.
E-fact tables are the same as F-Facttables except that they contain the compressed/rolled up data.

  • Enrichement of maps with labels (BEx, WAD)

    Hi experts,
what I am trying to do is to display several maps with the aid of BEx Query Designer in combination with a Web Application Designer template. After eliminating a few problems, a map is displayed.
Do you have any experience in going further? Is it, e. g. possible to add labels to your maps (e. g. names for areas). It is obviously possible in the ArgGIs software. My plan was to create the map as it should look like in the ArgGIS software, then exporting the data to a shapefile, and then upload them for the corresponding InfoObject in the SAP BW.
Would that be an appropriate approach? Do you have any experiences?
    Thanks&Greets
    Marcus

    Hi,
You can use multiple map layers to display the desired output also you can use other options such as filters, drill down, graphs and ticker in the WAD
Also for maps, it is important to maintain the master data.
Check my article, this might be useful for you:

  • Problem with "Building interactive maps with Flex" example

I have been looking at the tutorial by Matt Sheehan Building interactive maps with Flex found at
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/interactive_maps.edu.html
I have downloaded  Flash Builder 4.6 trial version and followed the example. I have also copied the source code from the example and pasted that into the file mymodestmap.mxml.
In both cases the application opens a new page in Google Chrome but does not display any map data.
No errors or warnings are displayed when I run the code from Flash Builder.
Although I have got plenty of experience of writing software, I am a total beginner when it comes to developing web applications!

Technically, it's Javascript, not Java :) TOTALLY different beasts. I wish they'd never named it Javascript, it's ambiguous. So anyway, on to the point of the whole thing...
If you want quotes in your values, you'll need to write a function to replace " with \", and pass the values through it. So instead of javascript:passBack('#ENAME#','#JOB#','#SAL#'); you would have javascript:passBack(addslashes('#ENAME#'),addslashes('#JOB#'),addslashes('#SAL#'));. That would mean that ABC"DEF"GH would be passed to the function as ABC\"DEF\"GH and your quotes would stay intact. Search around on the internet for more specifics as to how to pass double quotes in javascript by using backslashes.

  • Why do I have to append URL with /index.htm on one KB?

I have 7 different KBs I maintain on my webserver. I am using RoboHelp 7. For one of them, I have to append the URL with /index.htm, or it does not show the correct information. Examples of two of the KBs, and what happens with & without the index.htm appendeden
I will happily provide any other information. I've been wondering about this for a long time, and it's finally driven me batty enough to ask. Thanks so much for any assistance. Greatly appreciate your input, this is a wonderful resource.
http://wpa10suppliertest.am.mot-mobility.com/ opens a training KB for supplier information. See screenshot of the WebHelp Primary Layout:
However, for http://wpa10user.am.mot-mobility.com/ if I do not append with http://wpa10user.am.mot-mobility.com/index.htm, I get no content, and the first skin I tried out. The settings are the same:

    http://wpa10user.am.mot-mobility.com/index.htm:

    Hi William,
That makes sense - but I had looked at my IIS setups and they appear the same for all KBs, again here are settings for WPA Supplier & User. I created both the same day, the same way, and have compared all tabs which are identical. I can double check on how the DNS aliases that were set up, but they should have been identical as well

  • Issue in Color Theme on the map with ADF geographic components

I am facing an issue in bringing up a map using color theme .I can able to bring up a map with color themes using geographic components feature in ADF.
The problem here is 'Edit Color Map Theme' dialog which lists Map Theme in five categories like continents,counties,countries,states_abbrev,states_names.
we had implemented map using Color Theme based on the states_abbrev and found it was working properly.
But after some days we found that the settings we made to work for the map no longer works and resulted in no color theme on the map being displayed on the page.
It was found that the states_names works properly instead of states_abbrev by that time.
But again after some days it didnt work with state_names and we revert back our code to follow state_abbrev so as to get the desired result.
Does somebody know where is the problem and how to approach this issue?

    Quick Install is gone.
    Database repair doesn't work.
Color coded categories is gone, and as you've discovered Theme colors are gone.
    Print to Excel is gone.
Many desktop clients that worked with 4.2 do not work.
It won't work with legacy devces.
and others.... There are lots of complaints about 6.2 scattered around the forums.  Personally, the HotSync manager keeps forgetting the connections I've set, and goes to default views.
You aren't missing much of anything, IMHO.

  • How to add a bing map with pins to a Siena Project

    Hi
I just want to add a bing map with the current location and a few nice pins of some nice locations around me. Comming out of a Excel file. Potentially also draw some routing lines into the bing maps.
Any ideas how I can accomplish that goal?
    Thank you in advance
    wbr.
    Joerg

yes you can (there is actaully one on the map, blue square)
    The syntax is listed on
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff701724.aspx
You will however have to build the correct string to included in the image source (which you can do in the source excel or in runtime in siena)
Concatenate is suitable to do that.
    http://dev.virtualearth.net/REST/v1/Imagery/Map/Road?pp=47.638197,-122.131378;;1&ms=350,500&key=KEYHERE
the PP indicates the pin actually and the bing map autocenters on that. You have several options listed on the webpage listed above. It's a question of the one fitting you best.
Please note that your bing key is yours so you need to hide it well enough.

  • Can i use WebApps to build a Google map with polygon territories instead of points (pins)?

I built a map with Google Maps Engine Pro - http://www.jmbcompanies.com/Services/Mitigation/map.
It showcases territories using a Google map polygon shape.  I wrote custom KML to create it.  However, with Google Maps Engine pro you cannot create custom hyperlinks.  It will link a URL that you put in the data, but you cannot name it or target the parent window, so therefore it opens a new tab for each click to more details.  I really want it to open the WebApp detail page for that item within the same window.
So, is there a way to use the BC integrated Google maps technology and show polygons instead of points on the map? I've used {module_webappsmap,20754,a} to place individual locations on a map, but what about territories or polygon areas?
I'm sure that I can create a WebApp to generate the KML for each placeholder.  But how do I turn that into a map?
    THANKS!!

You can not create a kml file in BC through webapps. Modules do not work in other file types and you do not have server code access to generate a file type of results.
You need to use the google API and do this yourself or you can just use this:
And embed it into a custom field. My Maps

  • How to lock a specific map with a password in FINDER?

I don't use a password on my mac because you have to fill it out the whole time for ridiculous reasons. But I have one map, with all my financial numbers and invoices, that I want to secure with a password.
    How to do that?
I already tried some things but can't figure it out.
    Thanks in advance!

not sure what you mean by a map here. if you use a blank admin password (a mistake IMO), pretty much your only option is to create an encrypted disk image using disk utility and put whatever you want protected inside. when the image is unmounted, the only way to mount it is by entering the password you set at the image creation time.

  • Error in scheduling a mapping with sqlloader ctl file

    Hi everyone,
I have been trying to schedule a single mapping which generates sqlloader ctl file. but i get the error
ORA-20001: Begin. initialize complete. workspace set. l_job_audit_execution_id= 20545. ORA-20001: Please check execution object is deployed correctly. but when i attach this mapping with a process flow it works fine. There is no error.
so my question is in OWB is it a must that we should attach the mapping which generates sqlloader ctl file to a process flow and then schedule it or can we schedule a single mapping which generates sqlloader ctl file and what should be the process to schedule a single mapping which generates sqlloader ctl file?
    can anyone please help?

    create view v1(c1) as select 'a' c1 from dual;
    create table t1(c1 varchar2(1));
    2. Import the table and the view into a OWB-module
    3. Create a mapping ‘m1’

I just ran into the same problem myself. I used the same technique of saving the generated OWB script to file and then compiling it through sqlplus. When I used the "Deploy" option for the mapping, then the problem went away. So when OWB is deploying the code it seems to be setting something internally that doesn't get set when you simple compile the PL/SQL. I don't know of any workaround to this. I will need it eventually, since I don't want to use the UI to deploy to various test environments and production. Maybe the built-in scripting language is the way to go.

  • Problem with index in merged projects

    Dear Sir,
I have a problem with index in the master project, I can only
view the master project index keywords under the index tab. My
master project contains 2 topics besides the other sub projects. I
have created index for all sub projects indvidually and at the end
I created the master project index.
I made sure that the 'Binary Index' flag is ticked before
compilation and stil the problem is on, do somebody know what could
    be the problem.

    Hi,
    Two points here.
Firstly, you can duplicate SSL's. (Right click on an SSL in
the projects sub-directory and select the duplicate layout option.
This will give you a copy of the original SSL).
I tend to have two SSL's - one is local and I use that every
time I test compile the project when I'm working on it.
The other is set to output to the master project. I use that
once I'm happy with the sub-project and start working with the
    master project.
Second point is to be aware of how RoboHelp treats the
imported/merged .chm files from the sub projects.
It imports them into the main project master directory - then
when the master project is compiled it puts a copy of them into the
master project SSL. However, if you re-compile it doesn't overwrite
the files that are already in the master project SSL directory.
This is why you have to be aware of where the sub project
.chm files are going - you need to make sure that if you revise the
sub projects, a fresh copy of the .chm files ends up in the output
SSL directory of the master project.

  • Multi mapping with out BPM

    HI ALL ,
I am trying to do multi mapping with out using BPM .I will get message from the sender and i need to send that to two different target system. I have defined the mapping in the IR . In ID i  have created the configuration scenario and i have created the receiver determination .In receiver determination i have selected "EXTENDED" and when i select input help for mapping name it says "NO Object found". What else should i do get the mapping program here .
    Regards,
    Tarun.

    Bhavesh,
I'm sorry but if he needs 2 different receivers, then it's not the case of using Enhanced Interface Determination.
    sapuser,
if you scenario is asynchronous, then it's easily implemented.
But it won't be achieved with multimapping.
You'll have 2 receivers in receiver determination (normal RD, not enhanced). For each of those, you'll have to create a separate simple mapping (that will generate the message expected at each receiver system) and refer that mapping in the interface determination of each receiver.
For example, you have input_message containing data1 and data 2. You'll have 2 simple mappings (not a multimapping), 1 generating output_message_1 containing data1 and the other generating output_message_2 containing data2. Then refer those mappings in the proper interface determinations.
    Regards,
    Henrique.
