Margin Problems in IE

Hello I have the follwoing code:
<table cellpadding="0px" cellspacing="0px"
width="100%">
<tr>
<td width="60%">
<a class="main_heading_bold"
style="margin-left:10%">Welcome</a><a
class="main_heading"> Home</a>
</td>
<td width="40%"></td>
</tr>
</table>
main_heading & main_heading_bold classes just define font
type and color.
When i specify margin left to be 10% it works on firefox, but
not on IE
It, however, works fine if the margin is a fixed value. eg
"15px"

  • HP 2600n's margin problem with driver 2.3

    After installing the new driver v2.3, my printer started to have a margin problem. Even if I setup any margin correctly (on any software...) the page printed has borders cut off and it is shifted on the left (or, left margin is less than the right). Obviously, this problem was found with files that previously were printed correctly.
    Only by reducing by more than one cm margins, the print is not cut, but the page continues to be shifted to the left.
    Any help?
    Thanks.

    Try downloading and re-installing the Snow Leopard drivers and seeing if that fixes anything.

  • Printing - Terrible Margin Problem

    I have read all of the posts regarding margin problems.
    Ill tried creating the custom 'iCal' size in Safari but nothing works.
    When printing in week view all 4 margins spill over the edge.
    This occurs whether printing to paper or PDF.
    Any fixes to this or is it a bug?

    Hi,
    While playing with the values of ImageableArea I'm getting changes in printout
    but can't really find the correct combination of values because I'm just guessing
    what the values mean..ImageableArea provides the bounding box of the area in which the printer may print for the page size named mediaOption. There will be one statement for each named page size supported by the device. DefaultImageableArea provides the mediaOption name of the default imageable area. Since there can be only one default page size, this value should be the same as the value of DefaultPageSize, DefaultPageRegion, and DefaultPaperDimension.
    The syntax for defining imageable area is as follows:
    *ImageableArea mediaOption: "llx lly urx ury"
    *DefaultImageableArea: mediaOption | Unknown
    ll stands for lower left corner and ur for upper right corner. The bounding box value of ImageableArea is given as four real numbers, representing the x and y coordinates of the lower left and upper right corners of the region, respectively, in the PostScript language default user space coordinate system. The x and y axes of a given page size correspond to the x and y axes of that page size in the PaperDimension entry.

  • Crystal report - margins problem

    I have a problem with top and bottom margins in my report. In the designer view - File>Page Setup - I have the paper size (A4 210X297 cm). Both the top and bottom margins are set to 2 cm which, If I understand it correctly, printing should start exactly 2 cm from the top and end at 2 cm from the bottom of a page.
    However, no matter what I do, it starts printing 1.5 cm from the top and ends at 3 cm from the bottom of a page.
    I have the 'Dissociate Formatting page size and printer paper size turned off so that should not influence anything and even if it's turned on makes no difference.
    In Designer view when I look at the ruler the Report Header - it is exactly 25.5 cm in length. For some reason unknown to me I can't make it any longer. If I add even 1 or 2 mm to the length, the printing spills over to a new page.
    I'm printer to a HP laser printer - nothing fancy - other programs like Word prints to the same printer with no margin issues whatsoever.
    I will appreciate it so much if someone can point me in the right direction, please.

    Hi Danie,
    the problem is not inside CR, not your printer, but how SBO print engine handles paper sizeing and margin. (for just one simple thing: set the margin inside SBO, and you'll notice nothing changes).
    This is especially problematic with CR margins.
    On load the print engine gets the paper sizes from windows, and sticks to them. In my experience, it handles the margins as CR:
    fixed 2cm-s of any paper size ( this was my main problem, imagine it: printing on a 4,5*3,5 label, with 2cm margins =S, every other application did it right, from CR it was right, from CR to PDF to print it was right, from SBO PLD it was right, from SBO>CR>PDF>Print it was right, but no matter what i did, the SBO>CR>Print was using wrong margins).
    Try dissociating the papersize in CR and setting custom sizes/margins, sometimes, after many trial and error that works.
    I had made to date ~10 special sized/print scenario solution in CR (along many other standard sized reports), sometimes the above stated can achieved, but mostly i just add a corrected paper size to windows, set it as default and the ~100 trial and error falls back to ~15 rounds..
    I'm sorry to hear your disappointed in CR, sometimes i'm also feel like that, and i completely agree that it is overrated, but i think it is a great solution for things. It's not a miracle tool, but it handles well in most default situation, and you can construct insanely complex reports with relative ease (if you lear how to utilize SQL inside CR along with Crystalsyntax). But i agree, handling papersizes it is.. well.. you know.
    Lets hope will get the neat 2011 version someday to SBO..

    Daniel

  • Margins problem when printing to PDF (Pages '09 v4.0.3 build 766)

    Hi,
    I don't know if this is connected to the latest Mac OS X v10.6.4 update, but some of my machines exhibit a very curious behaviour.
    + multiple pages A4 document
    + choose File > Print, click on "Save as PDF", under the PDF button
    ++ set pages 6 & 7 to print
    ++ set 2 pages per spread, so as to have Pages shrink the A4 document to somewhat A5, and have the two pages side-by-side on the same sheet
    ++ save the PDF
    Then, when I open the PDF with Preview, the margins are all wrong (i.e. too big, there's too much white running around).
    And from Preview's inspector, I can tell that the Page Size is set to US Letter, although in Pages both the document size AND the Printing Format are set to A4.
    The most curious part of the story is that my MacPro, my work MacBook Pro 13 and a white MacBook exhibit the problem, whereas my personal iMac 27" DOES NOT.
    And they are all running Mac OS X v10.6.4, with ALL the most recent updates, and the exact same version of Pages!!!
    I suspect that something has been changed in a framework somewhere, but I cannot figure out what it is...
    Any idea is welcome!
    Thanks,
    K2r

    I can do the same in TextEdit (although it's even more painful to control the margins!!).
    My problem is not that Pages won't put pages on one sheet; It's that the generated PDF does not respect the sheet physical size (A4 vs. US Letter), thus adding wider margins all around the document.

  • CS3 print booklet margins problem

    Thanks to the help of this forum, I can now print my 12-page newsletter as a booklet with 3 sheets of tabloid paper.  BUT ... one new problem is that the leading edge of each printed sheet has a small margin, making the center become off-center, and the far edge of the sheet has a large margin.
    Any ideas out there of what I'm doing incorrectly?
    Thanks.

    This could be caused by asking for printers marks if the page position in the setup dialog is set to upper left, or even without marks if the sheet is larger than required to hold both pages and the position is upper left. The cure for that is to click the Print Settings button in the Print Booklet dialog and change the positioning to "centered."
    Also, many inkjet printers have asymetric margins which can potentially throw off even centered content or cut off part of the trailing edge of the page.

  • PSE 7 Print Margin Problem

    Operating system is Windows 7 64bit.  I am printing to a HP 1600 series inkjet and/or a Brother 2170 wireless printer.  When I attempt to print in landscape mode, the right hand margin changes from whatever was set to 2.5" and truncates whatever is being printed from PSE 7.  When I select page setup from PSE 7, the margin settings are greyed out and can't be changed.  Assistance would be appreciated.  Thx, TL

    Dear Biker,
    Thanks for your email.  Since receiving it this morning, I have received the following advice from HP Support and although I appreciate it's not your exact problem, maybe some of it will help.
    I note that they suggest adding a Generic Drive for a Deskjet 990c model (even though mine's a Photosmart C46800) but later they mention my model so I suppose you need the 990c drive to make it all work.
    One of the other replies I got from the forum was one which said, 'never buy an H.P'.   In fact, I'm so worried that H.P's advice will either cock-up my computer completely or change the way it prints 'Word' documents (currently O.K.) that maybe I'll buy a decent one..  Anyway, here's what H.P advised:
    STEP 1  Add Generic Driver 990c
    1. Click 'Start
    2  Click Printers and Faxes'
    3  In Printer folder, click 'Add a printer' icon
    4  Click Next
    5  Select 'Local' and remove the check mark from 'Automaticallhy detect and install my Plug and Play printer
    6  Click 'Next'
    7  Click 'Next'
    8 Select HP from Manufacturer list
    9 Select the printer modeol as HP DeskJet 990c from the printer list, and then click Next
    10. Select Yes to make this printer the default printer and Click Next to continue
    11. Select No to skip the test page and then click Next
    12 Click finish to complete the installation.
    STEP 2 Configure the port
    1  Click Start, then Printers and Faxes
    2.  Right click on HP Photosmart C4680 All in one printer icon and then selct Properties
    3  Select the Ports tab and then check which port is selected from the list of ports.  Make a note of the port that is selected
    4  Close Window
    5  Right click on the HP Deskject 990c printed icon you have installed, then select the ports tab.  Select the same port that was selected for the HP Photosmart C4680 printer icon
    6  Cick Apply and the OK

  • Report Viewer 2012 Word Render Margin Problem‏

    Hi all,
    I am developing a asp.net web application /w visual studio 2012. I have created some reports with report viewer, and I would like to export those reports to pdf and MS Word format. The pdf output is same as I expected, but the word output is
    missing top and bottom margin, it leads we cannot print the header and footer correctly in MS Word, also the repeat header on each page property didn't work too.
    If I use report builder 3.0 and try to export the reports to pdf and MS Word format, the problem still exists.
    Is anyone has the solution for this issue?
    I think its related to sql server reporting services, please let me know if I posted at wrong category.
    Thanks,
    hk

    Hi hkcheung,
    According to your description, you have issues when exporting the report into Microsoft Word file. The margin of header and footer can't be displayed. And the RepeatOnNewPage property is not working. Right?
    In Reporting Services, when we export the report into Word file, it will ignore page header and footer height settings. Also Word does not repeat header rows on page two and greater, although you set the
    RepeatOnNewPage property of the static header row in a tablix (table, matrix, or list) to
    True. For more information, please see the limitations in the link below:
    Exporting to Microsoft Word (Report Builder and SSRS)
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

    Every browser has a default margin/padding for every element.
    To make browsers behave all the same, you need to reset the default values like this:
         Add the below css code in the .css file, or inlined-css block:
         html, body, div {
              padding: 0;
              margin: 0;
    This is a very simple css browser reset, but you have reset for any such css properties for any element like <p>, <audio>, <span> etc.

  • Officejet 6700 margin problems printing from Mac

    I recently purchased and setup a  new HP 6700 all in one wireless printer and have a problem that I can't seem to solve or find a solution for.  Printing from my Mac's leaves margins cutting the top and bottom off of documents.  I've printed the same documents from a PC at work without problem but opening and printing on this printer seems to cut off margins.  I can't find a margin setting to adjust nor should I need to with a default print setting.  I've updated the latest HP print drivers and firmware with no luck.
    Thanks in advance.

    I just found this post and hope I am not too late to pursue this further.
    I have an HP OfficeJet 6700 Premium Wireless Color e-All-In-One Inkjet Printer.  My operating system is Macintosh OS X 10.9.3 Mavericks.
    I have been having this problem for quite sometime and would love to get an explanation, or directions to fix the problem.
    I clicked on the link 'HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-One and 6700 Premium e-All-in-One Printer Series (H711) Product Specifica...' and saw that the acceptable Top and Bottom print margins for a Mac are .13" and .47" respectively.
    Whether I am in Microsoft Word for Mac 2011 (latest version) or in Preview (latest version), I cannot print a document with a Top margin of less than .5".
    I created some documents in 2013 that were printed on this printer and they came out with no problems.
    In January of this year, I bought my current Mac, and now I cannot print any of those documents unless I increase the Top margin to '5".  Thinking it might be the HP driver, I downloaded and upgraded to the latest version of the driver, and still the problem persists.
    I originally was blaming the problem on Microsoft Word, but that does not make sense since the problem also occurs with Preview.
    Your help would be appreciated.

  • Printing Margin problem

    First of all, it's the first time I post here and I'll thank you for your help
    I'm under Mac OSX Snow Leopard and Acrobat Pro 9.
    When I've a pdf without any margin, if I print this document, I have the normal margin of the printer on 3 sides and on 1 I've a very big margin, around 1 cm !
    It's a very big problem if I want to make a recto/verso document!
    It's not a problem of the printer, because I use a NRG MPC 2800 and I find the same problem on a black laser printer for desktop (Brother).
    I think there's a problem with Acrobat 9 and Snow Leopard. I've nothing found on Internet and I need a solution.
    If I print directly from InDesign, there's no problem. It's only with a pdf file.
    Please help me !
    After any test, I've see that if I print the pdf from a PC under Win XP, there's no problem. It's only with the Mac.
    Thank you for your help.

    I've already tried the setup you show me without any results.
    To give a better idea of my problem, I post here the original file in acrobat, and the second is the file printed and scanned to put here. As you can see, the margin is on the bottom...
    As you can see, I've also try to change the setup in paper management, to choose the A4 format. Once again without any results...

  • Officejet 4630 printing margins problem

    Hi there-
    I just purchased an Officejet 4630 and have had some immediate printing issues come up.
    The main issue I've found is that the margins for printing at the top and bottom of letter-sized pages seem to get cut off when at 100% scale.
    I've uninstalled and re-installed the printer with the correct driver, but none of this seems to solve the issue.
    I've used both preview and excel to try and print and they both have the same problem. It seems the only way I can get the entire image to print is to shrink down the scale, but I do not want to do this as I'm trying to maximize printing space, which is vital for my business printing needs.
    Do you have any solution to this problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi @el_jefe,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
    I noticed that the margins for printing at the top and bottom of letter-sized pages seem to get cut off when at 100% scale. When printing with your HP Officejet 4630.
    Please try the following:
    Reset the printing system. OS X Yosemite: Reset the printing system.
    Verify and repair disk permissions. Disk Utility 12.x: Repair disk permissions.
    Otherwise, it could just be a setting within the Microsoft Office Suite that needs to be changed. I would suggest also contacting Microsoft Office Support for assistance, or consider trying another Office Suite such as OpenOffice, or LibreOffice, and see if they do the same thing.
    Hope this information helps!

    I seem to have the same probem. On my development pc the margins for a report are e.g 0.2" on the four sides. After compilation and installing on production pc, the bottom margin is always 0.875". This problem didn't occur in the 2.5/3.0 version of Oracle Reports. No solution found until now.

  • Div margin problem

    Thanks for reading this post, here's the problem.
    I have a right column div that holds two content divs, one

    way it should, it doesn't give me a 2px gap between the two boxes.

  • Another stuck SNR margin problem

    I had been running my Draytek Vigor 2820 router for some time quite successfully, with a SNR margin of about 6, and a download speed of between 5,500 and 6,000 bps. In June, we had a thunderstorm and powercut. When everything came back, the SNR margin was 12, and the speed between 3,000 and 3,500 bps. Eventually, the SNR margin went down to 9, and the speed up to about 4,500 bps. I can't get it back to the original values.
    The current router stats show:-
    Up time:- 213 hours
    Up speed:- 992000 bps
    Down speed:- 4512000 bps
    SNR Margin:- 9
