Master Data Explorer disables Model and Entities after every action in Excel

I'm working with MSSQL 2014 and Excel 2013 with the Master Data Services Add-on (MSQL and Excel are both trial versions.)
When I connect to the model then I perform any action on an entity in that model, the Model and the list of Entities in the Master Data Explorer panel become disabled and I have to close the pane, reconnect to the MDS server and select the model again.
My MDS security settings are fine because I can edit the entities I want from Excel, it's just the disabling that is a pain.
Is this the behaviour of the trial version? I haven't found anything that says it is.
Any advise appreciated.

After turning up the logs on the MDS client and the MDS server, and putting Fiddler in between, I saw the client ask the server: Is DQSInstalled? The server politely responded: <IsInstalled>false</IsInstalled>. What criteria
does the MDS server use to determine that DQS is installed?

Master data loads for Attributs and texts are failing. The error is
1. Lock Not set for Loading master data attributes
2.Table /BI0/YAccount does not exists (this error is for 0Account master data - attribute load)
3.Error 1 in the update.
We had faced this error few days ago and rebooting the server resolved the error but it has recurred after 4 days.
RS12 and SM12 do not show any locks. Activating the info object has also not resolved the error.
Any insight is appreciated.

Deleted and adjusted the Master data table, sid table and text table

Deleted and adjusted the master data table, sid table and text table of an zinfoobject after removing and adding attributes to that zinfoobject and was trying to activate it and system was giving me messages that cannot activate infoobject something like this.
So, i deleted and adjusted the master data table, sid table and text table. Since then getting messages right after executing the query because in that query that infoobject is getting used.
So the messages i am getting is:
SID 9 for characteristic Zinfoobject could not be converted CL_RSDM_READ_MASTER_DATA->_SIDVAL_DIRECT_READ2
System error in program SAPLRRK0 and form MEGA_SORT_M_02-02- (see long text)
Please help me in fixing this whole thing.

SAP BW,
After adjusting your Master Data IOBJ and deleting and reloading the data - run a change run to adjust the references to the SIDs and then see if your query runs - run program RSDDS_AGGREGATES_MAINTAIN from se38 and select your IOBJ in the next screen..

Could anyone give me some inputs on Master Data Loading for Prices and Conditions in CRM.
T. Code is: /SAPCND/GCM
I need to load data on a file (extracted from 4.6) for service contracts.
I tried LSMW : for this transaction, recording does not work.
I am trying loading thru Idocs (LSMW). But that too is note really working.
Do we require some custom development for this , or is some SAP standard funcntionality available ??
Can anyone provide some valuable inputs one this.

U r right, our clint is upgrading from 4.6 to ECC.
So as per the clients requirements, we are maintaining all the configs for Services in CRM.
Services Data which was in 4.6 is being pulled put on flat files which needs to be loaded in CRM. So middleware would not be able to do this.
What I am looking os some standard upload program.
LSMW recording does not work.
This I-Doc "CRMXIF_COND_REC_SLIM_SAVE_M", i am able to load a single record. But I am not able to find , how to make this function for multiple entries.
IN standard we for loading master data thru I-docs, we map the values to the standard fields which are available in that I-Doc.
But in this particular i-doc, there is a common field for which I need to define the field name and a field value..
Till now, I am only able to define just one field name and a field value.
I want this to word for mutliple entries.

Mismatch between Master data table /BIC/P and SID table /BIC/S

in our master data table we have logsys in key
after a system copy we had a problem with logsys name, when we have copied our bw prod system in test system we find prod logsys like value, the BDLS doesn't change all values for all structures and some master data table still have prod logsys instead of test logsys but some records have test logsys values
for example:
our production logsys is: BIP300 and our test logsys is BIT300
in our master data test table we find had some records logsys value like BIP300 and others with BIT300
all our ODS and CUBE have the right logsys value in test "BIT300"
we have developed an ABAP report to execute on selected tables to change logsys from BIP300 to BIT300
we execute the report on only P master data table like /BIC/PZCOOR and it's work fine and has changed all the records values
from BIP300 to BIT300 and this program has eliminated all duplicate records
the problem is when on our master data try to view data we find that bw return data from SID table /BIC/SZCOOR
in fact if we go to control data on /BIC/SZCOOR table we find that there still are records with logsys BIP300 and BIT300
and the same if we execute our query on ZCOOR we have values with BIP300 and BIT300
how should we fix this problem?
if we execute our ABAP report on /BIC/SZCOOR to change logsysname we can fix that or we could have problem?
please can give me some useful help

Hi ,
Follow the sequence of deletion .
1.Delete data from cube YMM_*
2.Delete data from 0pur_c*
3.Delete data from 0material .
4.Delete data from info_rec .
Best option would be do selective deletion for these four materials and run a repair request then after to update into data target.

The problem is, I'm not really sure how we should go ahead.
The modelling difficulties can probably be understood if we condider the following scenarios for using BOD:
1. A BOD contains APO locations, but of course the same location can be in different BODs (having a different hierachy of locations)
2. BOD is assigned to an SCM product
3. Only one BOD is valid for a product at a specific time, but the BOD can be different for different time periods
4. A BOD structure (for a specific BOD name, i.e. BOD01) doesn't change, so the hierachy itself is not time dependent, but the actual assignment of a specific BOD to an SCM product is (or can be) time dependent
5. A BOD can have theoretically any number levels, so it can be 1 level or even 4-5 level as well
Any ideas are welcome!

Master data in R/3 and automatic creation of CVC ?

Hi All,
we have requirement that all the master data created in R/3 should come to APO.Now some of the master data are optionals in R/3 so we need to develop a custom program so that if any master data is missing in APO then Master Data Controller should get email.
Is this possible ? Youe help is highly appreciated.

Hi Prabhat,
You can use a User exit on the APO end. Some of very useful exits that could be used are
1. ZXCIFUSERU14
2. ZXCIFUSERU05
3 ZXATPQUSERU02
4. ZXATPQUSERU06
5. ZXATPQUSERU12
These are the main CIF exits through which data from R/3 flows into APO. You can look inside the data in these exits.
And if the data is not found then you can shoot that mail you were referring to.

1. Create structure CI_ANLU in the ABAP Dictionary, and define the
     fields that you want to have in the asset master record in addition
     to the standard fields. The master record data of these fields will
     later be stored in the separate table ANLU.
2. Create include ZXAISU03 in function group XAIS. Enter program code
     there in order to transfer the asset master data to global
     variables. The asset master data referred to here is the data that
     is transferred using function module EXIT_SAPLAIST_002, and which
     you need later for checking the field contents of the fields that
     you have defined. At the least, you should transfer the values
     transferred in parameter I_ANLU to a global structure.
3. In function group XAIS, define one or more subscreens that you want
     to integrate into the maintenance interface of the asset master
     record. On these subscreens, you can either

Infotype 0008 master data with no salary and no wage types.

I am an abapper so I apologise whole heartedly in advance for what may be a silly question.
I want to use infotype 0008 only to hold master data values. The only fields I want filled are:
Pay Scale Type,
Pay Scale Area,
Pay Scale Group,
Pay Scale Level,
Capacity utilization level.
Is it possible to configure infotype 0008 just to enter these values and nothing else. I don't any values in Annual Salary, Wage types, etc.

Query or report for G/L Master data including Tax Field and Description

Dear SAP Gurus
Please help me. I am trying to find a report to display G/L master data at company code level and which includes the tax filed and tax catagory description. Does such a report exist please?
I have also created a query but cannnot add the description of the tax catagory entered in the G/L master data. Can you please tell me if such a table exists which can be used for a query. Besides the VAT code if this is entered in the master data I need to include value and description of the tax catagory such as *, > etc.

There is no table storing the description on tax catagory such as *, > etc.
Even SAP has hardcoded the discription in the search help of these special tex categories. For tax codes it picks from table T007A.
You need to create your program with fetching the values for these tax categories.

Master Data synchronisation between BW and SEM BCS

Hi,
Can any one guide me how to synchronize data between BW and SEM BCS.
Master data like Cost centre, Segment, Profit centers and all other sub assignments are created in BW from source ystem i.e SAP.
Now when I upload data into BCS, i am facing errors l;ike master data doex not exists.
Currently I am Flexible upload for updating into BCS.
So pls suggest me hoe to proceed this approach in Production? IS there any synchronisation program which does this automatically from BW to BCS?

The issue is, here we have created Sub Assignments, where the master data for these sub assignments will increase on daily basis.
Can say atleast 50 Sub assignmenrs are created as new master data, example: Customer is a sub assignment, but it is assigned only for few accounts, so taking sub ledgerlevel data inco is not an issue.
Now when transaction data is posted in to BCS, the sub assignments master data is created automatically.
Now the question is how to get the data in BW for the specific sub assignmnets into BCS.
Currently I planned to use the [program UCMDSYNC to do this.
Pls do suggest me if any other option available for me.

Loading GL Master Data -- Attributes, Text, Hier ; and Transaction Data

Could any one give me the steps individually to load the following type of data in BI 7.0:
1. Master Data with Attributes
2. Master Data with Text
3. Master Data with Hierarchy
4. Transaction Data
Do I have to create the Transformation and DTP's individually to load all the above kind of Data?

For master data when you create tranformation it will prompt infoobject to act as infoprovider, and then you create DTP to schedule data to it. It works fine with attribute and Texts, though hierarchy dosn;t support much features of 2004s at my side. Like i am not able to migrate Hierarchy datasource to 2004s, and even when i replicate it, it comes as 3.5 datasource only.
For transaction data follow Gokuls step, or try to find on forums you will get lot of discussion on it.

Uploading master data with business objets and LSMW

All,
I am trying to uploas legacy data with LSMW and with Business object BUS52** for security classes. This works with idoc format, I have no prior knowledge how this works, but I figured it out a bit. I am to the point now that my idocs are created and posted (according to the system). Except when I would like to see the security class created with FWZZ, there is no data in it.
Any help what am I doing wrong?

I have successfully used lsmw with bapi before for securities class master data. Business ibject type is BUS1076. If unfamiliar with lsmw (with bapi); I think internet search may bring up couple docs on that.

Time-dependent master data in the cube and query

Hello,
I have a time-dep. masterdata infoobject with two time-dep attributes (one of them is KF). If i add this infoobject into the cube, what time period SID will be considered during the load? I assume it only matters during load, if i add the KF to the query it gets its value based on the SID in the cube.. right?

If its Time Dependent Master Data object when you run your Master Data if that time any changes to the Master Data that value will be overwrite to the old value you will get the new value. When you run the Query execution the Infocube Master Data infoobject will having the SID that time it will to there it will be displayed at that moved what is the value you have in the Master Data table.

in the master data (control data) of the G/l account XXXXXX (it's a reconciliation account) I've filled in the sort key the value ZZ1 (XBLNR).
Instead, in the master data of a certain customer which has its Reconciliation Account equal to xxxxxx, I've filled in the sort key ZZ2 (BELNR).
Posting a document, I need that the Assignment number is equal to XBLNR.
How could I obtain this?
