Master Scheduling/MRP Issue

My EBS version is 11.5.10.2
In Master Scheduling/MRP Module,under MDS and MRP Submenu,
there is a functions named 'opertions', shows the opertions of MDS and MRP, can anybody be so kind to tell me how does the checkbox 'net reservations' work in that screen?
suppose i have two sales orders
SO1 ordered for ITEM A for 100,
SO2 ordered for ITEM A for 20(reserved)
ITEM A has 100 onhand
import SO1 into MDS and run mrp, should i have only 80 avliable for ITEM A if i checked the 'net reservations' checkbox?
any reply is highly appreciated!

MRP is by default licensed along with e-business suite.
You do not need explicit licensing for using MRP.

CPU clocking 100% for Master Scheduler

Hi
Most of the time my Master scheduler is clocking 100% CPU. There are 6 process schedulers. 2 are dedicated process scheduler(not defined as online app servres in Configuration.properties file on Webserver) where as 4 are process scheduler as well as online app servers. Problem is that all those users who are connected to Master scheduler server are experiencing Performance issue. Other 3 online servers are not so engaged as CPU utilisation for them is between 6% - 20% only.
My question is is this set is adviceable ? or making one of the dedicated process scheduler as Master scheduler will help?
My hardware configuration of all appservers is 2 x 2.4 Intel Xenon HT and 3GB Ram.

Thanks for your reply. Following were the processes that are running on Master Scheduler at time when it clocked 100%.
pspubdsp.exe
psqrysrv.exe
jsh.exe (20 different instances)
pssamsrv.exe
psappsrv.exe (350K x 2 instances)
Not sure which one was keeping CPU occupied? I'll keep an eye again and see which one is picking most CPU%.

i have scheduled MRP run in MDBT with variant MRP1,then when i run it,it was released but others have been cancelled automatically by the system.why?

Scheduled MRP run were cancelled automatically after released a new one

hi guys,
I've scheduled MRP run but when i realeased it, the previous schedule has been canceled automatically. Why is this happen?

Changes in Material Master leading to issues in MRP

Hi,
For a particular material a user changed a lot of material master data (MRP1 and MRP2 view) within a couple of hours.
As a result MRP is not working as we would expect:
- some orders have no quantity in the "Available quantity" column in MD04 and as a result do not trigger any PO (Received/Required quantity = -1, but Av qty = blank)
- whenever a shipment is foreseen it is consumed/reserved by/for the order which requested delivery date is closest after that shipment date
These are the changes made to the master data in November 2009:
Planning Strategy Group: from Make-To-Stock Production to No Planning to Strategy Group for Spares & Consumables to No Planning to Strategy Group for Spares & Consumables
MRP Group: from Client Specific MRP Group for Period Mgmt to General to External Procurement to Client Specific MRP Group for Period Mgmt to General to Client Specific MRP Group for Period Mgmt
Availabilty Check: from Indiv. Req. to Indiv. Req w/o PO. to Indiv. Req.
Unplanned Consumption in period: from blank to 11.2009
Fwd Consumption Period: from 0 to 999 to 0
Consumption Mode: from blank to Forward Consumption Only to blank
Unchanged MRP material master data:
Bwd Consumption Period: 0
MRP type: MRP
Planning Time Fence: 1
Lot size: WB (weekly lot size)

What should we do to have MRP work correctly again for this material?
Changes to material master MRP? Delete all schedule lines and start from scratch in SOs?

Solved internally by adjusting Strategy Group

MRP issue for future delivery PO/STO date

We have a sceanrio where the available material quantity in MRP list is considering future delivery date STO quantity. The PO delivery date is 08.11.2008 and MRP run date is 07.11.2008.
Step 1, material master details:
Material = 16814, MRP Type = PD, Lot size = EX, Special Procurement = D0 (Stock Transfer), Consumption mode = 2 Backward\forward consumption, Fwd Consumption per = 0.
Step 2, MRP list details , before PO creation:
MRP list before having any purchase order = 191-
i.e, Available qty on 07.11.2008 with a DepReq = 191-
Step 3, Creating Purchase oder (In our case it is STO):
We created one Stock Transport Order on 7th Nov 2008 giving Delivery date as 08 Nov 2008 which is in future. Our plant is receiving plant = y100.
PO quantity = 2
Step 4, Running MRP in MD02:
Processing key       =   NETCH               Net Change in Total Horizon
Create purchase req.   = 1                   Purchase requisitions
Delivery schedules   =   3                   Schedule lines
Create MRP list   =      1                   MRP list
Planning mode     =      3                   Delete and recreate planning data
Scheduling         =     1                   Determination of Basic Dates for Pl
Result = PR is getting created for Qty = 189, but our actual required qty = 191 - meaning it is considering the future delivery date(8th Nov 2008) PO qty while creating PR and removing that qty while creating PR's on 7th Nov 2008.
Here we are running the MRP on today (7th Nov 2008). STO delivery date is 8th Nov 2008
Step 5, MRP List details, after STO creation:
Now the PO is coming in MRP list and the available qty is 189-
Earlier stock before purchase order is 191 - after creating purchase order (STO) for future delivery date available qty is coming as 189-
DepReq is still 191- but the total available qty is changing to 189-
We want PR to be created for DepReq of 191 and not 189.

In step 2
What is the stock?
If it is PO then the qty cannot be in minus 189

Where are u running MRP? In receiving plant or sending plant and all the steps you are showing for which plant?
It is confusing...
What i can say is in general if it is MTS scenario, then system will always consideres stock + receipt - issues = 0 after running MRP.
If it is MTO, then for each sales order/project segment stock + receipt - issues = 0...
Hence apply your situation in the plant and see the data.

MRP Issue: Planned orders Vs Pur Requisition

HI All.
I have a query on MRP.
We run Total planning for a plant in a night batch job The parameters for variant are as below
Planning Run Type: NETCH
Creation Indicator for Pur Req 2.
Planning Mode 3 Delete & recreate order proposals
Scheduling type Lead time scheduling
For example MRP runs on 19th Jan & for a given material, a planned order is created as the lead time 10 day & the requirement date is 15 Feb.
Now as normal proedure, when the opening date in the planned is reached, MRP should delete this planned order & create a Pur Requisition. But this is not happening even though we have used the planning mode 3 (delete & recreate order Proposals)
There is no planning file entry for the material after the initial MRP run. Is this the reason that the target material is not picked up in the planning.
Any suggestions on this.

If Requirement is 15 Feb System Calculates and Gives the proposal for 05 Feb. As you may know there is one more Schedule Margin Key and itu2019s a buffer time before and after Procurement prosal. May be its affecting your Openeing period. Please Check the Paramaters in Material Master 1. Schedule Margin Key,2. GR Processing time, Lead Time and planning time Fence(During this Period System Doesnt Allow Automatic changes,,

Scheduling Date issue in Assemble to Order Scenario

Hi Friends,
I am facing a Weird issue with Production order Scheduled dates created automatically after creation of Sales Order for configurable material.
Our availability check is set to check open Purchase orders, for one component the delivery date in the PO is 20.12.2011, currently at the time of creation of SO the availability check shows this component as a missing part and committed date as 20.12.2011.
Now the issue is that for one type of customers when the SO is saved, the production order gets created with basic start and finish date of 20.12.2011 with a status CRTD PRC MACM SETC.
But with another customer group it creates the Production order with today's date basic start and finish date, with a status CRTD MSPT PRC SETC.
Now since in both the cases the Material is same and also the components are exactly the same, the only difference is the customer, I am unable to make out why it is happening.
I am basically a MM Consultant so am unaware if there is any standard setting relating to customer or something relating to that which is causing such a issue in scheduling date of the Production Order.

Yes, the availability check is working in both the cases, when I create the sales order, I key in the Configurable material code, then do the configuration, after that system does availability check, in both the cases the result of availability check is same with one component marked as a missing part, available date as 20.12.2011.
One more thing if I try to view the Production order at the time of SO creation before saving it, the Production order shows today's date, but when I save the SO, and do Credit release, the actual Production order gives different scheduling date based on customer. Just wondering what could be affecting based on Customer, is there any other field present in Customer master which could alter the date.
I also saw today's scheduling note in some of the cases, but its not coming up in all of the orders created with today's date and moreover the same components are getting scheduled for 20.12.2011 also for diff customer.
I am afraid I can't provide any screenshots for this as am not permitted to publish any screenshots of the client.

Goods Movement
Maintain in OPK4 as ALL COMPONENTS-this is for automatic goods receipt and automatic goos issue.
now create new production order and while doing confirmation go to goods movement tab-now you will see that raw material and finished material.
2.When i am converting planned order to production order at that time i am unable to get the default Order type its throwing an error enter order type .
Create Production scheduling Profile(OPKP) in spro-Maintain in order type in make to order or make to stock enter respective order type and save.
Assign this Production scheduling Profile in respective material master in work scheduling view.
now it will works.

MRP issue -reg

The quiery is like this
MD01 is scheduled as a background job using MDBT transaction . Here values are maintained for MRP control parameters which appear on MD01 initial screen like
Processing key
Create purchase req
Schedule lines
Create MRP list
Planning mode
Scheduling
Planning date   .
Though here it is given that no schedule lines , MRP output is giving schedules for BOM components
quiery is which control parameters are preferred while system is executing MRP   ,
1.The Plant parameters which are maintained at plant level
   thropugh OPPQ
2. The Plant parameters which are maintained at MRP Group
     level thropugh OPPR
3. The MRP control parameters entered in MD01 initial screen
4. Master data maintained like planeed delivery time , etc... for
    material in material master
another doubt is while running how the system considers the MRP control parameters pertaining to the BOM header parts and BOM components

Hi,
For MD01, system will check MRP group parameters for particular material. MRP group creation indicator overwrite the initial screen of MD01 creation indicator.
If MRP group not found system will use initial screen of creation indicator.
For MD02, system will overwrite MRP group creation indicator. MD02 initial screen indicator has priority over MRp group.
For your last question also system will work as above.
Check the following taken from SAP Help.
The creation indicator for purchase requisitions is only valid if the MRP group does not override it. The creation indicator for scheduling agreement schedule lines is only valid if the MRP group or the plant entry in Customizing does not override it (see Creation Indicators in the Initial Screen and the MRP Group ).
In single-item planning the creation indicators in the initial screen overwrite the creation indicators in the MRP group (see Creation Indicators in the Initial Screen and the MRP Group).

MRP issue. Extra stock suggested

Hi there ,
I have one material say ABC which is to be procured from outside. Now I have maintained the schedule line aggreement & source list for the same . The safety stock is maintained as zero & the lot sizing is weekly lot size.. I have generated some requirements of the same material say 100 - Week -1 , 50- Week-2 etc. Intial stock in SAP is zero for the material. The Max & min lot qty is kept empty in material master.
When I am running the MRP then the SAP is creating a schedule line of 396 against the requirement of 100 .
Please suggest me what can be the probable reason for the same .....??

As I understood you have maintained Lot size- weekly.
As per this system will take the requirement of that week and gives a planned order/schedule line at the last of the week or begining of the week depending on the lot isze key setting
Now System is taking the requirement of future requirement as per yoyr communication right?
But please let me know, what is the schedule line delivery date?
Example 7th week PIR 100
8th week PIR 100
Now in normal SAP when run MRP
7th week PIR 100
Schedule line 100 - del date 7th week end
8th week PIR 100
Schedule line 100- del date 8th week end.
But in your system is the following is happening?
7th week PIR 100
8th week PIR 100
Schedule line 200- del date 8th week end.

Schedule line issue in sale order

Hi,
We've removed the availability check from 02 to KP in material master for all the materials.
Also removed the availibility tick from VOV6 for schedule line cat. CP
But even then while creating the sale order,schedule line is activate for few materials.
Pls help to resolve the issue.

For that first go to material master MRP2 view and see what strategy group is maintained.
Next go to OPPS and see for that Strategy group, what Requirement Type is assigned.
Next go to OVZH, select that Requirement Type and see what Requirement Class is assigned.
Finally, go to OVZG, select that Requirement Class and untick the box "Availability" on top left.
But before doing this change, you should take concurrence with your PP guys.
Last but not least, I only wanted you to understand how you should respect forum members time and never expected points from anybody. Since in all your previous threads, you had closed without proper updation, I had to caution you.

Error in 0EMPLOYEE Master Data Load Issue

Hi,
We have 0EMPLOYEE Master Data. Due to our new development changes ralted to 0EMPLOYEE, we have scheduled 2 new info packages with Personnel number range. While creation of infopackages, we forget to main time interval from 01.01.1900 to 31.12.9999. Instead of this, the default range was selected as 24.04.2009 to 31.12.9999. Because of this selection in InfoPackage, the Employee Master Data Valid from date was changed to 24.04.2009 for all the employees in the master data after the data load.
Even after i change this selection properly and loading the data also, its not correcting with correct valid from dates.
Can you please advice, how can we fix this issue ASAP as its a production issue?

May be for this you have the ONLY option to delete 0Employee master data and reload it again. For this you need to delete dependent transaction data also.
