Hi,
For subcontracting process you need to set up following
If Material has Price Control as "V" (MAP)
(BSX) Stock A/c of Assembly - Dr
(BSV) Change in Subcon Stock - Cr
(FRL) Subcontracting Charges - Dr
(WRX) GR/IR Clearing A/c - Cr
(BSX) Stock A/c of Components - Cr
(GBB-VBO) Consumption A/c of Components - Dr
If Material has Price Control as "S" (Std. Price)
If Material is having Price Control as "S" then Price Difference A/c will also in picture.
This depends on configuration; SPRO > MM > Inventory Management and Physical Inventory > Goods Receipt > Price Differences for Subcontract Orders at Goods Receipt
Price Differences for Subcontract Orders at Goods Receipt
In this step, you configure for each valuation area whether price differences are generated for a Subcontract order at the time of a goods receipt if the manufactured material is managed at standard price and the standard price varies from the receipt value (externally performed service + value of components + delivery costs).
Example
Finished product: $400 (value at standard price)
Subcontract order:
o Ext. service : $250
o Components : $100
Posting schema without price differences:
Stock account FERT : 400 +
Stock change : 400 -
GR/IR clearing acct : 250 -
External service acct : 250 +
Compon. stock account : 100 -
Consumption account : 100 +
Posting schema with price differences:
Stock account FERT : 400 +
Stock change : 350 -
Price difference : 50 -
GR/IR clearing acct : 250 -
External service acct : 250 +
Compon. stock account : 100 -
Consumption account : 100 +
And cost center is mandatory for subcontracting process
the accounts for the BSX FRL and GBB-VOB needs the cost elements
Thanks

  • Sub contracting PO - MB1B - Accepts more than PO Quantity

    Hi Gurus,
I made a Sub-contracting PO with BOM components. During the transfer of BOM components to vendor (MB1B - 541), the system accepts to transfer more than PO quantity to transfer.
How can we restrict this transfered quantity should not exceed PO BOM components quantity.
    Regards,
    VB

SAP does not store the PO number anywhere as a reference for the delivery/movement from your location to the subcontractor. Hence you have technically not really a chance to restrict it.
It might be possible with a user exit to check whether the the current quantity in the movement exceeds the compónent quantity. But if you do the same movement again in the next minute, then it will pass.
If you create a Z-table where you store the reference and the transferred quantity per PO, then you might  be able to achieve your goal.
I personally like the SAP design as it fits to our requirements. we are a chemical company, to produce a certain finished material we need for example 23 kg of a component, however this component is packaged in a 50 kg drum.
we do not repack the component into smaller drums just to get the exact quantity to the subcontractor. we send the full drum, which would not be possible with your wanted restriction.
Our subcontractor does not just a one-time event of subcontracting, it is a recurring business, maybe 10 orders per month.
So it saves a lot freight costs to ship components for one or two month production to the subcontractor, even prior to any PO.
And we do not loose any money by sending more material, the stock at the subcontractor is our stock, is owned by us, it is not a gift that is given for free to a  subcontractor

  • Project Sub contracting

    Dear All,
We are following project sub-contracting process.
As per SAP recommendation, we have created a new storage location for vendor as XXXX u2013 Vendor storage location.
And we are sending material to vendors with movement type 311 u2013 Q.
While posting material to vendor, we are able to track Purchase Order number and Vendor Code.  But we are not able to track Purchase Order Line item.
Hence it is difficult to reconcile PO, line item wise, how much material is sent to vendor.
Here, same material is sent to vendors in different line items of the PO.
    1. It is not possible to reference purchase order and line items, while posting the document through t code MB1B with movement type 311 Q
Error: "Combination of movement type 311 & function selected not possible"
    2. It is not possible to add PO line item (EBELP) field for movement type 311 in t code OMJJ.
Error: "Field EBELP is not allowed for transaction type 311.
In such cases, I would request you to give your inputs on how to track PO line item while posting material to vendor storage location.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hello Mahesh,
Thank you very much for your response.
We are already maintaining Purchase Order. My question is about how to track PO line item. I have added PO number and vendor for movement type 311 but i am not able to add field (EBELP) PO line item, while posting material to vendor storage location.

  • Project Sub contracting - 311 Q - Message no. M7 019

    Dear All,
We are using project sub contracting with movement type 311 Q.
While posting stock to vendor storage location through t code MB1B, I am not able to post the stock with reference to Purchase Order.
    System is giving below error:
Combination of movement type 311 Q and function selected not possible
    Message no. M7019
We have maintained the movement type "311 Q", in confirguration for "Maintain Movement Type Groups" under "Subcontracting"
and assigned the movement type group to excise grouop under "Subcontracting Attributes".
I have searched through sdn but couldn't find any answer.
Would request you to please help.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Sub Contract Process

    Dear Experts,
I need to complete a sub contract sales process in SAP.
    My requirement is
We will dispatch Rawmaterial ex: 10000 TON to sub contractor who will process the Raw material and will supply us back ex: 6000 TON of finished good.
I tried completing this process through standard SAP process
(1 ) Creation of 3rd party sales order
      2) Creation of 3rd party PO against the PR number generated from sales order
      3) Stock transfer through MB1B
      4) GR through  MIGO
My issue since I have tp dispatch TONs of raw material, I need a system to record all the good moevemnt truck by truck.
ex: Against a PO 30 truck dispatched, but through MB1B i am able to do only bulk.
Please guide on how I can include this process alsoin SAP.
    Thanks.

    you try to achieve this?
    - Create a PO for 100000 Ton of material.
    - This should be carried/transported by 30 trucks/dispatches to the Subcontractor.
    - Create a goods Issue to Subcontractor
The conversion of base unit of measure seems a bit complex here due to the variance in truck weight ( one truck can be loaded 1 Ton and a second truck be loaded 3 ton).
Are these trucks leaving the plant at the same time/day?
Do you need to issue goods on a per truck basis, or can you do it on weight basis?
    regards
    Sidi

  • Sub-contracting operation.

Hi, we have one sub-contracting operation in between in-house production order operations. For sub-contracting operation only the in-process semi finished material which is the result of previous operation will be sent to vendor. While I am trying to convert pr into po, gives the message that u201Cno component assignedu201D. Please note that no roh will be sent to vendor except that previous operation completed material for which we do not do gr for the previous operation. Please advise how to handle this. Thank you.

    HI Raju,
    Subcontracting: Operation Wise:
    10, 20 & 30 total 3 operations. 10& 30 are internal, i.e., in-house and Operation 20 is External i.e. sending material for external processing u2013 subcontracting
The control key PP02 meant for external processing is to be allocated to the operation 20 in the routing.
Once you allocate PP02, in the operation detail screen Activate Subcontracting, then system will ask for the Purchase info record no.
(Create Purchase Info Record TC: ME11, Give Details of Vendor, Purchase Organization, Plant and Select Subcontracting Press ENTER, maintain the required data)
    Next MD61, MD02, MD04. Then after confirm Operation 10,
Then external processing has to be started.
Go to operation overview in the prod order, choose operation 20 & double click.
Get the Purchase Requisition number from the external processing tab. Then convert into Purchase Order. (Using TC: ME58)
Send the Material to the Subcontractor using TC: ME2O or TC: MB1B with Movement Type: 541.
Then receive Material from Subcontracting Vendor by using TC: MIGO with Movement Type: 101.
(Goods Receipt with Reference to Purchase Order)
    Then confirm Operation 20 &
Continue with Operation 30, Confirm Operation 30. Do GR by TC: MB31 Movement Type: 101.

  • Sub contracting Process ( MTO)

    Dear All,
One of the my client using Sub contractig process MTO.Defined process like
    1. Create process order based on Sales order  ( Auto PR generate)
    2. Sub contracting purchase order creation agaisnt PR
    3. Material consumption againt 261 Movement
    4. GR for service expenses
    5. Process settlement for 101 Finished goods.
Now my business would want consumption posting along with GR ! But we sre unable to transfer goods ( Sales order assigned stock ) to Vendor SC stock through 541 Movement type. Is there any special way to transfer the same ?
    Rgds

    Hi,
The process we have used is and suggested by SAP is-
    Prerequisite:
-Create vendor's place as a storage location.
-assign 311 E,312E, 543 E to movt type grouping for subcontracting challan.
    - Make vendor field(LIFNR) mandatory at MB1B 311 E .
    Process:
1 Create PO for material. with item category L
2 transfer the goods through 311 E to storage location created for vendor's stock.
3 Create Subcontracting challan with reference to 311E material document.
4 Make GR after goods recieved from vendor.
5 Consumption will follow from storage location against PO.(need to give vendor's storage location for consuming material)

  • MTO Discrete Manufacturing with multiple plants and sub-contracting

    Dear PP Gurus,
I am facing a problem, pl. help me out.
    My Scenario is as follows:
I am having 4 plants with Make-To-Order Discrete Manufacturing scenarieo .
Suppose to manufacture a particular Product , there are 10 operations. The first 4 operations are carried out in Plant A, 5th and 6th carried out in Plant B, Operations 7 is Sub-contracted to a Vendor. After the job-work from Vendor, the job returns back to Plant A and the remaining operations are carried out in Plant A.
The whole scenario has to be mapped into SAP. Please guide me from the very beginning( Masterdata maintenance). Also, what shud be the MRP( Single-item multilevel or anything else)
Your help is highly required by me.
    Thanks in advance,
    Soumyendu

    Hi Sadhukhan,
For external processing in different company code, u need to specify PP02 in the routing for external vendor. In PP02 control key indicator must be set in external opn. Before that create purchase info record. Enter subcontract info record in routing. After running MRP , convert the PR to PO. Send the material by MB1B by 541 mvt. Receive the material by MIGO by 101 mvt.
    Reward if useful.

  • Sub-contracting with excise duty..?

    Hi all
can anybody explain me the sub-contracting process with excise duty , here we are going create excise invoice(J1IS instead of sub-contract challan) and what abt material document for sending out materials
whether v an use excise invoice as material transfer document to jobber place or what.
Please explain me with example ..
    Regards
    sap-mm

    hi ,
    you can try:
1.Do the MB1A with 202 mvt type to get back the material from the Work location Cost center to Storage location.
2.Create the Subcontracting PO without payment of excise duty ie., with subcontracting challan. Here the components provided to the vendor & material at item overview should be the same.
    3.Do the MB1B - 541 Mvt type transfer posting.
    4.Create the subcontracting challan w r t material doc by J1IF01
5.Do the MIGO for SC PO.
    6.Reconcile the SC Challan.
7.If the qty is fully reconciled then you can complete the challan.
8.Do the LIV for SC PO.
9.Do the MB1A with 201 MVT type to issue the material to the Work location.

  • Sub contracting Challan completion

i have raised a sub contracting  PO for 50 items and i sent 50 child item against mb1b document i made gr for 25 numbers only and other 25 numbers vendor informed me that he lost the child items.how to complete the challan

    Hi,
In such case, you have to complete the challan in J1IF13.
Because suppose you still believe that your vendor will return the remaining quantity despite of crossing 180 days period, then in that case you have to reverse the challan. And later on when he sends that material you can close that challan.
You have to close the challan & send a debit note to vendor.

  • Sub Contracting scenario - Material Lost

    Hi Experts,
Material is issued to the vendor against the sub-contracting purchase order. The material is lost in the vendor premises.
How to deal with this scenario
    Thanks
    Tanvi Sunil

    Hi,
I think you should negotiate with the vendor who covers the loss - if your vendor pays they can issue a credit memo.
As for stock adjustment you should consider:
    - MB1A / MIGO + 551O
    - physical inventory
    - take components back to your site by MB1B + 542 and scrap it (MB1A + 551) or adjust stock level via physical inventory project

  • Sub Contracting Challan

    Hi All,
In Subcontracting process first we are sending the raw material to sub contracting  vendor with Sub Contracting Challan. Now subcontrating Vendor return the raw material due to quality problem. So, please suggest what process we have to do in SAP ? Because we have to closed the sub contracting challan and stock of raw material should come under  unrestricted  use.
    Thanks in Advance.....
    Sanjay

    HI
Take back material with MB1B mov type 542. Reconcile the challan wrt this 542 mov type document.
And then complete the challan also.
Your Subcon PO is still open and u can send fresh material to vendor with MB1B 541 and make a new challan and then complete ur process.
    Thank You

  • Sub Contracting Order & Vendor Return

    Hi,
We use to send Materials to our Sub Contracting Vendor (MB1B - Mov. Type 541).
Now in one of the cases, we had to cancel all the Orders given to the Vendor, and we want the Materials back from the Vendor.
The Materials need to move to Quality also, as per our requirement from the Quality Department.
Should we take back the Materials with Mov. Type 542 or is there any other Movement Type for the same.
What all changed needs to be done in MM& QM.
Also requested to send me the List of Movement Types.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Sub Contracting for Production Order

    Hi All,
Scenario is like this, I release Production order & deicde to sent it to sub contracting & PO Created is wth Acct assignment F with no material master.
after this how do i account sub-contacting bills with MIGO i'm not able to make a GR.
should i maintain a material master in purchase order, how do i send material to sub-contractor.
    Regards

    Hi,
You have to maintain material master for both - Ordered Material & the material in the BOM of ordered material. Also you have to maintain procurement key as X - Both procurement types possible. When the planned order is created for the final product, you can convert the Planned order to PR with item category L - Sub Contracting, system prompts the material to be supplied to subcontractor in Material Component list (BOM Material). You may transfer the material to the sub-contractor via transfer posting (MB1B) movement type 541. When you post GR for final product, the BOM material is consumed for the Final product via movement 543.
    Hope the query is fulfiled.
Reward proper points if the answer is helpful.

  • Sub contract procedure

    Hi ,
Please explain me the following scenario for that what are the things to be done
    1.The finished material is subcontracted
    2. Only one operation of the manufacturing process is sub contracting process?
Explain the material master setting , bom and routing setting.
    Regards
    Thamizhchelvan G

    Hi
Since u r doing second operation as subcontracting; maintain control key in 2nd operation i.e. control key PP02 to be assigned in 2nd operation
Once you allocate PP02 to operation 20 ,the system will ask for the info record no (which is displayed when you create info record using ME11 under category "subcontracting")
Then after you confirm opr 10 using CO11N, the ext processing has to be started.
Go to opr overview in the prod order, choose opr 20 & double click.
Get the PR no. from the ext processing tab. Then convert into a PO usning ME58
You can send the raw matrl to the contractor using ME2O or MB1B (541 mvnt).
Then after the completion of sub -contracting work receive the semi-finished material using MIGO (101 movement for subcont material)
Then confirm oprn 20  & lastly MB31 for GR Posting
    Reward & close if solved
