Menu Button from sub menu to main menu (transition movie in the way.)

In the general tab of the disc menu I set the menu button to go to the main menu.
When I click "menu" on my remote in simulation from a sub menu I expect it to return me to the the main menu.
However, clicking menu from a sub menu automatically brings me up one connection.
I have transition movies that are between the main menu and the sub menu.
So effectively, the menu button is a loop if a viewer tries to navigate upward with the menu button from a sub menu. They see the transitional movie and return to the sub menu they were trying to navigate from.
On page 609 of the manual it says...
Menu: Supported by all elements that can set remote control settings (disc, track, story, marker, and slideshow) except menus. You should generally link this button to the last menu viewed.
Is there a work around that will allow me to make the menu button link from a sub menu to the main menu, even if I have a transition movie in between?

Hang on Tom - are you saying that you are in a sub menu, pressing the 'menu' button on your remote control, seeing the transition and ending back at the menu you started from?
I would expect this if you used the menu button...
What happens is the menu button acts as a resume function if you are in a menu. That is, it will play the last piece of footage - your transition. This is set to go back to the sub menu, so that's where you end up. Read those details again... the bit where it said 'except menus'.
If you are in a menu and want to go up one level then you need to either use the Title button (if the title menu is the one you want to get to), or the return button (which won't work all that well). The best way, however, is to add a button on your menu screen which lets the viewer click it to go to the menu that you want.

How to pass the value from Sub report to main report

I have un report(mainreport) within a subreport(subreport).
With reporting services, how to pass the value from Sub report to main report?

Hi Alebet,
With reporting services to pass values from sub report in to main report is not supported directly.
But there are some workarounds through which you can get this .
There are two ways to get this.
1- Put your sub report query into some table. i mean to say through the subreport query get some temporary table.
2- Using this temporary tables data write some Scala function in the data base.
3- Now in your main report query return this scala function as a column.
4- Extract the column value where ever you want in your main report which is getting calculated from the subreport query. so you will be getting the values returned from the subreport in the main report.
This will definitely work fine as i have done some report in this way.
Another way of doing is that
1- prepare another data set with the same query as in sub report in the data tab.
2- then refer this 2nd dataset in your main report .
But better way will be the top one.
Anyway please let me know if you get the solution.

Horizontal menu looks fine but sub menus drop down one and move to the right over the top of one another

Help, My horizontal menus look great but when I add sub menus to them they drop down one place and move to the right side where they be over lapping each other. What can I do? I'm working with adobe muse.

It might be faster to start over. File > New > HTML page. Insert Spry Menu.

On VA01 transfer an value from Condition type Z000 from sub-item to main it

Hi,
I want to create a sales order and I have one main item an one promotion (sub-item) item without determination price. I want to transfer cost price from VPRS form sub-item to an Z000 contidion to main item for tranfer this value to CO_PA for a field value different from VPRS field value.
How can i do this?

In copy controls of Del to Bill - VTFL .... in the item screen copy control.... u have a button called cumulate coast set this for the item u need to transfer i.e to item category of subitem u have.

This field is used in the main item to control whether the cost value (usually condition type VPRS) is to be copied from the relevant sub-items. The following cases are taken into account:
Free of charge sub-items (free goods)
Batch split items
Bill of material components
This function is needed especially if the sub-items involved are not relevant for billing. In this case the costs of these sub-items do not appear in CO-PA or the statistics.

Hello I am new to labview. My subvi has a progress bar (Indicator) and i want it to be also displayed in my Main VI. Is there any process to do this.

Hi Promice,
the easiest way to pass data in and out of a (sub)-VI is using the connector pane.
When you create a (sub)-VI, you can choose a pattern and select which control or indicator (frontpanel elements) belongs to which terminal.
The way Michael has supposed is more advanced an a very common way to change values of frontpanel elements of a main VI.
There is no wrong way, it depends on the application. So thanks to Michael.
For the first steps, I would suggest using the connector panel.
I've attached a modified example.

HT204370 the volume is very low on downloaded movies from itunes, and my volume is turned up all the way, and my volume is fine all other times???

My volume is very low when I download a movie from itunes, and my sound is turn all the way up. The volume works fine on everything else. It's really hard to even watch the movie and enjoy it. Why is this happening?

Morning Al My issue has since been resolved after some advice from a friend. It was simple, push the optical cables in firmly until they click, however mine didnt click but there was definatley room for them to be pushed in further as if they are loose they "leak". in addition to this on the TV settings, make sure that the TV speakers are turned off

When downloading Windows Support Software from BCA, download freezes at about a sixth of the way

When I download the Windows Support Software from BCA, the progress bar freezes at about a sixth of the way through. I took my MBP to the genius bar, and they told me I should use a USB drive instead of a DVD, but even when I use a USB the problem persists. I've even tried saving it straight to my Windows Partition, and the same thing happens. I've seen many people with a similar problem, but instead of getting something like "The Windows Support Software is not available", my download just freezes. I tried to uncheck "Auto Proxy Discovery" in system preferences, but it already was. I also heard you could use the drivers on the SL installation disc, but I have a late 2011 MBP, which came with Lion, so I don't have an install disc. Does anybody else have the same problem or a solution? Any help would be appreciated.

Like I said before, the progress bar just freezes when I do what http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4407 says. Also, that article was for an MBA late 2010, but I have an MBP 8,2 (late 2011). I don't think that makes a difference, though. The only thing I actually need the drivers for is for the wifi card, which W8 RP doesn't seem to detect. I tried looking for BCM4331 drivers on the internet, but apparently, broadcom doesn't let you download their drivers, but anyways, thanks for the reply.

My "menu bar" moves to the right

My menu bar slowly drifts to away from the top left corner of my screen.
I never see it happen but I just look up and it's moved.
I am on 10.8.2 and when I open the notification centre, which shifts all my windows back to the left, the menu bar resets with it and it fixes it for a while.
I've been doing using this as a fix for several months. but is there anyone else with this issue who has found a perminate fix?
I've noticed it on both my iMac and Macbook Pro, running 10.8.1 and 10.8.2 respectively.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

Display message to user from sub vi to main vi

Hi,
I have got a question of which I am pretty sure it has come across before, but I could not find it via the search function nor with Google.
On my main vi I have got a link to a sub vi, this sub vi checks something and then gives a message to the user. The next step in the sub vi depends on what the users input on the message is. But when I am running my main vi the display (of course) does not come up, because I haven't got a link between the two.
Is there any way to send the message to the main vi and send the action back to the sub vi?

Since everything is happening in the sub vi, why do you want to go back to the main vi?
Do you use the "Prompt user for input" express vi to get an input from the user?
Can you post your code or make some dummy vi's to visualize your problem?

Duplication of Notes from Sub-Process to Main Process

Hi all,
I have sub-process and a main process.
I create notes in the main process.
Then put them in the sub-process by re-creating them in the sub-process.
And then when I come out of the sub-process,I re-create the notes in the main process, so that the sub-process notes are added up with the main process notes.
The problem is that the main process notes are duplicated.
The reason being,
I have already transferred and re-created notes in the sub-process while entering it.
I also still have notes in my main process.
When I come out of the sub-process, I transfer and re-create notes in the main process too.
Now, this adds up to the notes already in the main process and so there is a duplication of notes in the main process.
So its
Notes created in Main Process --> Transferred to Sub-process and re-created them for sub-process --> Transferred to Main process and re-created them for merger of the main process notes with the sub-process notes.
(Notes in Main Process) ---> ( Notes in Main Process + Notes in Sub-Process) --> ( Notes in Main Process + Notes in Sub-Process + Previous Notes in Main Process)
Previous notes in Main Process = Notes in Main Process
Therefore the duplication.
notes ( in built) array has no option to clear it up.
How do I clean the notes then?
I need to re-create and transfer them everytime I move from main process to sub-process and back to main process for showing up in the notes section of the workspace?
Also the creator and the creation time of the notes is not reflected.
They seem to be constant variables.
How do I resolve these issues?

I was messing with the computer, not sure what i hit but now all my toolbars at the top of the screen are gone? (file, edit, history, tools and my forward and back button). Please help me get these settings back to the way they were?

Once the menu bar is restored, you can use the Toolbars entry in the View menu to restore other toolbars such as the navigation toolbar.

Put a music cd in my imac to download earlier in the day, came back later in the evening now it wont power up from going to sleep, can hear some movement in the cd drive area but no power or screen?

Does anyone have an idea what is up with my imac. I put a cd in it earlier in the day to download into itunes, left for work and came back to it later in the evening. When I tapped the keboard to to wake it up there was no power, no screen, only a light sound that came from near the cd drive area on the right. I've un plugged it and pluggged back in several times. After that I hit the power button, again I could hear a light sound comming from the area near the cd drive almost like it's the hard drive trying to power up or the cd spining in the drive. It will continue to do this over and over until I either unplug or hold down the power button.

Nothings happening, tried the mouse, tried the keyboard, nothing. I followed the instructions for resetting the SMC and the only thing I get is the light sound I describbed in my earlier message. The more i listen I don't think it's the cd drive, I feel like that would be a little louder than the sound I hear. What I'm hearing sounds like a light spinning sound almost like the hard drive when yo click the keyboard to wake it up, except it keeps doing it over and over again until I unplug the mac. When I plug it back in, it will not make the sound until I press the power button on the back.

Bought album from itunes, but one track doesn't play all the way through

Hi I bought No Place Like Home from Manoa DNA. All of the tracks playback except one, track 10 Ka Nohona Pili Kai/Nada Sou Sou. Through the song as it plays, when it gets to timestamp 1:05, it stops playing and plays track 11. After timestamp 1:05 doesnt finish playing the rest of the song. What do I do? Who do I contact for this problem to fix? I paid $9.99 for the whole album and one track isn't working. What is going on???

Delete the troublesome song from your library and download it again from your Purchased History. If the replacement download still has the same problem (rare, but it can happen if the original in the store is corrupt) use the report a problem link from your account history.
