Menu links fine pre-burn, menu links "brake" post-burn

What I am trying to do:
I have a large, project with 16 chapters total, and 3 levels of menus and submenus. With a total of 4 menus. This I am trying to burn to a DVD.
My problem:
As I mention above I have a multi level menu set up, with a quit a few links in each menu. After setting every thing up and making sure all the links go to the appropriate chapter, I set the project to burn. The burn commences with out incident except for the usual “iDVD is not responding”
However when the burn completes the menus are messed up with links not going were they are supposed to go.

Are the links messed up going from the menu to the video, or when you return from the video to the menu? Also, are these chapters within an iMovie production, or separate productions? A standard DVD menu structure would be 2 levels; did you manually add the 3rd level?

    Before I sign in links to posts take me to the correct post but they fail to work after I sign in except for the special case of all posts on one page.
    Does this happen for everybody or only those who had particular viewing preferences set up before the change to the latest forum software?

  • SP 4 menu template simulates fine but burns without background image

    Hi there,
    this is my first post & I hope you can help. I have just upgraded to SP4 and have created a menu with a supplied template ( the city one). I put in a vid in the bill board & added a few chapters......all good. It simulates perfectly but when burnt the background menu image is missing leaving a white background.
    Any ideas???
    Lachy

    Looks like you have up to date video card, but you can try switching from hardware to software encoding. DVD SP 4.1 has had a couple of weird issues. Do a quick search for white or white background and you can see some recent suggestions to try to help trouble shoot (there were a few, but do not recall all the things that worked for various people)

  • Why Won't PreE Burn my Slide Show Project to a DVD?

    I created a slide show using PE 6 and sent it to PreE 4. However, when I try to burn it to a DVD using PreE 4 it just quits on me? Then I can't even open PreE?? I really don't know what's happening?? My complete slide show is saved in PreE 4 and I can find it at  adobe\Premiere Elements\4.0\ project name. However, when I try to open it nothing happens. I thought perhaps my slide show was too big for PreE but that doesn't appear to be the problem. My saved PreE 4 slideshow is 8.29 MB and PE 6 slideshow gives a play time of 56:43 Min after creation.
    A standard  DVD is at 120 minutes and 4.7 GB
    Can anyone tell me what the devils happening here or at least give me some direction to solve this dilemna.
    Thanks for any help provided.

    The slideshow created in Photoshop Elements Slideshow Editor exists there as a creation and goes no where until you output it to something else. If your goal is a DVD-VIDEO version of your slideshow and you want to use Premiere Elements to generate the DVD-VIDEO, before Photoshop Elements 5/Premiere Elements 3, you had to output your slideshow as a file sized .wmv video and import that into Premiere Elements. The use of the .wmv limited the possibilities for further edits of the slideshow that arrived on the Premiere Elements Timeline as one whole video rather than individual photos. Further, there were those that questioned the use of the .wmv version for quality reasons. I never found that to be the case.
    But, if you have the specific combinations of Photoshop Elements 5/Premiere Elements 3 OR Photoshop Elements 6/Premiere Elements 4 OR Photoshop Elements 7/Premiere Elements 7, you obtain the perk of being able to send your Photoshop Elements slideshow to Premiere Elements in a non wmv form which can be broken apart allowing for further significant edits. The keys to doing this are:
    a. Specific sets 5/3 or 6/4 or 7/7
    b. Use of the Photoshop Elements Slideshow Editor Output option of “Send to Premiere Elements” which then makes available the “Break Apart Photoshop Elements Slideshow” command in Premiere Elements (right click video on Timeline, select “Break Apart Photoshop Elements Slideshow”). If you had some mismatch of Photoshop Elements Premiere Elements versions, like 6/7, the Photoshop Elements Output option of “ Send to Premiere Elements” would be available, but once the slideshow got to Premiere Elements, the “Break Apart Photoshop Elements Slideshow” would not.
    Immediately after the output is completed in the Media panel you will see:
    a. Folder containing the individual photo and video assets
    b. A file representing the intact slideshow in video form
    On the Timeline you will see your intact slideshow video form.
    The Time Stretch Tool is used to change duration. You can use:
    a. (less precise) The Time Stretch Tool Icon above the Timeline. Click that, watch your mouse cursor turn into a vertical bar with a cross (diagonal arrow and red bar) superimposed, then click on drag end of image.
    b. (more precise). The Time Stretch feature via right clicking the image on the Timeline, selecting Time Stretch, and typing in the duration.
    c. in either case, any gaps created on the Timeline are gotten rid of by right clicking the gap and clicking on the “Delete and Close Gap” pop up.
    When you go to decrease the duration or when you are changing the duration of an image at the end of the Timeline, everything will be going as you expected. HOWEVER, when it comes to increasing the duration or changing the duration of an image in the middle of the Timeline, you will need to move the images to make room for the expansion and then close the gaps.
    Before I go on to some other things, I should go back to the Media panel and its contents immediately after receiving the Photoshop Elements Slideshow. You can open the folder with assets (photos & videos) in the Project Media View. If you right click one of the files, select Time Stretch, change the duration of the image, the duration of that file will be changed and be reflected if you drag that file from Project View Media area to the Timeline. BUT, this will not change the duration of that image which is already on the Timeline.
    There are so many other aspects of this that I will save for another time. One of the things that we could talk about is creating slideshow and the DVD-VIDEO slideshow all within Premiere Elements and bring into play:
    Premiere      Elements’ Create Slideshow feature to set image duration OR transition      duration all at one time
    Changing      the Premiere Elements default duration (5 sec) via Edit      Menu/Preferences/General
    Pans & Zooms with Edit Menu/Effects/Presets/Horizontal and Vertical Pans or Zooms as well as creating Pans & Zooms with keyframing.
    I am probably running into the Flash Player and Premiere Pro Forum space by now. Please focus me in on your specific issues and I will continue with my what works for me comments.

  • Place/Link to post Sample codes

    This is a suggestion regarding OTN:
    Apart from the tips/ questions adressed in the FAQ,
    it would be nice to include link or some means by which people can post sample codes/tips/workaround.
    We can put them at common place.
    I see large number of repeated postings on this forum. By doing this, apart from benefiting people, it will also
    help in reducing duplicate posting (It will act as a document by itself).
    One way would be:
    For each products, we can have a common place for workarounds/tips/Sample codes.
    People should be able to post the above through this forum.
    The posting should be added after moderating it.
    Thanx,
    Chetan.

    You don't say what you want to change.
    If I were styling your menu I would have it vertically centered in the grey background. By adding the red coloured rule found in layout.css
    #menu (line  61)
    background-image:  url("../Images/Layout/nav_bg.jpg");
    background-repeat: repeat-x;
    background-position:  left top;
    width: 960px;
    height: 40px;
    padding-top: 10px; // or whatever suits
    I would also like to have the menu items spread evenly across the page by applying the style rule found in SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal li
         margin: 0;
         padding: 0;
         list-style-type: none;
         font-size: 100%;
         position: relative;
         cursor: pointer;
         width: 20%; // 5 items X 20% = 100%
         float: left;
    You may have to fiddle a bit more after this to get it exactly the way you want. Just start a new topic because this one has already been answered.

  • Muse: Link zu post in eingebettetem Wordpress-Blog?

    Hallo,
    Ich habe in meiner neuen Website auf der Seite "News" meinen Wordpress-Blog eingebettet. Hier der Code:
    <iframe width="1010" height="732" src="https://maniahub.wordpress.com/" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

  • Apack sounds fine - Simulator/burned DVD definite audio pumping

    Can't understand why after many days research/testing/fiddling I cannot seem to get the AC3 audio to play cleanly in DVD SP 2 simulator or when burnt to DVD...the FCP 4.5 audio is set between -12 and -6 (peaks), export as aiff files, compress in Apack at 192 kbs, stereo, -31 dialnorm (return entered), sounds great/fine when played back in Apack...import into DVD SP 2 and there is definite gain pumping or whatever one calls it throughout some tracks. Host will be speaking, at certain points, the volume will rise up, then the level will dip down for a second or two, then rise back up a bit even increasing the background hiss just a bit, then remain constant for a while, then rise up/down again...at least this always happens in the same places.
    Wonder why only in DVD SP/burned DVD does this happen, and how does one overcome this? Very annoying.
    Thanks much

    Just to be sure - are you hearing this in DVD Player or on a set top player?
    If you look in the DVD Player preferences, have you got the disable dolby dynamic range compression checked or unchecked?
    If unchecked, this can give you the same effect as you describe... so try checking it and playing the disc again.

  • Drop down menu (sorry long post)

    Hi, im at university and for a piece of coursework I have to
    make a professional looking website. I have decided to load
    external SWFs, rather that have long loading times, because of this
    I have a container, which the SWFs are loaded into. I also have a
    drop down menu, which is in its own Movieclip, the structure of the
    menu is below:
    Whole Menu (intstance name: 'entire')
    V
    V
    First Header (gtaiv_menu)
    V
    V
    First drop down (box1)
    The container is on Scene 1, at the moment I can load the SWF
    by clicking on 'box1' but it loads in its own window, not the
    container, my question is how do I load the SWF into the container
    on scene 1 by clicking box1?
    Thanks, again sorry for the long post.

    Can anyone help me? I am starting to think of putting all the
    information into one SWF, which means long loading times.
    Also I apologize for posting three topics, I did not realise
    I had done this until it was too late, the computer I was on at the
    time was particularly slow.

    Many posts on the message boards link to other posts. It would be interesting if a post displayed the number of links there were to it. The statistic would be a hyperlink to a list of all the posts that link to this one.
    Maybe the number of links to any of a users posts could be displayed in their profile.

  • Pulling My Hair Out! K7N2 Delta2 & MSI NX6200AX (solved, see link last post)

    Posted about the troubles more then a month ago here: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=96306.0 . Quick history, Built my Teens a PC with the Delta2 MB, an old XP1700 CPU, some old DDR, and my old (OC'd for 3 years and still running great) Gainward GF2-Ti. It worked fine. Ran most games just fine and they were happy. Then Son #2 wanted Battlefield 2. Hmmm...it needed Dx9c shader support...which the old card didn't do. So I got (Newegg) a MSI NX6200AX (GF6200 - 128MB - 9c shader support) and its been nothing but nitemares ever since.
    It will boot up (did a clean copy of XP even!) in Windows. But as soon as I open a program that does any crunching (Like say trying to load nVidia drivers) the Monitor screen goes "black"....and the little lites go back and forth like Kit the car on Nightrider!!!!! Meaning it has lost signal.
    Put the old card in and it fine!!!!!!!
    Things I've done trying to fix it:
    Reloaded Windows XP SP2 (right now SP2 is not installed yet)
    RMA'd the Card for another one.
    Bought a new 450W Rosewill PS. (was a nice old Enermax)
    Swapped in my 19" Trinitron (thinking maybe the monitor couldn't support the card since thier monitor is a cheapo 17" CRT. Same thing happened to my monitor!)
    Dug through the Bios with a fine tooth comb.
    Today I added new Kingston DDR I mentioned in another post. Premium HyperX 1GB in Dual Channel. I also re-seated the CPU with new AS5, cleaned out everthing. PC booted up much faster.......
    So I tried to load the drivers......AND IT STILL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM!
    This is an AGP card, like my old one. I'm at a lost here. I'm about to re-install the old card just so I can get them off my PC. (I took a month off working on thiers so they've been living on mine)
    Any ideas? The MB is Fine, Memory is fine, Power Supply is fine, CPU fine.........
    Thanks for listening, I'm open to ideas.

    Please don't cross post in the forums, it is very confusing
    The 350 watt enermax, what does it say on the sticker on the side of the power supply?
    I'm curious to how much the amps are on the +12v rail..
    Quote
    My quetion now, why would that AGP slot be fine with the old card and overclocking? (sure it was only agp 4x I think, new one is 8x. Dont know what the D.O.T. is......)
    Because you are using a card that has higher power requirements for starters, there could be other factors involved, but that would be the first thing I look at. DOT is Dynamic Overclocking Technology and it's integrated in MSI's drivers. I have a sticky topic about it in the VGA section.
    Without being able to try the card in another PC, and/or trying a more powerful PSU, the troubleshooting is going to be hampered.
    You may consider taking the card to a local shop to see if they can test it for you, and see if the problem follows the card.
    I can't count how many times products are RMA'd becuase of the inablity to properly troubleshoot a problem.
    I am locking this thread and posting the exact same thing in the other one in the VGA forum here https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=96306.0 <---This issue was solved, by removing overclock settings (Seargent) in the BIOS.

  • Can't read or burn CDs, but DVDs work just fine (reading, burning, ripping)

    This isn't a new problem for my computer, its an issue thats been there since I got it (March 2008), I just haven't had it fixed yet.
    My computer won't play or rip any cds (usually doesn't mount them, just spits them out) Also has trouble burning cds, but I have successfully burned a few.
    Never had any problem mounting, playing, ripping, or burning DVDs though.
    Anyone know of a way to fix this without taking it into an apple store?
    And if I do take it in, how long would it take them to fix it?

    I took it to the apple store, they did a test to see if it was a hardware or software issue, determined it was a hardware issue and replaced the optical drive.

  • OIM 11g: Has anyone managed to pre-populate Display Name by post process

    Hi all,
    I have an event handler to set Display Name. It works via pre-process but not post (which we need for recon).
    Does anyone have this working for trusted reconciliation?
    Thanks,
    Wayne,

    We are doing a little more basic in our modify post process handler... something like:

      HashMap<String, Serializable>[] bulkParameters = bulkOrchestration.getBulkParameters();
      String[] entities = bulkOrchestration.getTarget().getAllEntityId();
      params = new HashMap<String, Object>();
      HashMap<String, Serializable> parameters;
      for (int i = 0; i < bulkParameters.length; i++) {
           entityId=entities;
    parameters = bulkParameters[i];
    // Insert whatever your custom display name logic is below
    String fName = getParameterValue(parameters, "First Name");
    String lName = getParameterValue(parameters, "Last Name");
    String mInitials = getParameterValue(parameters, "Middle Name");
    String dName = lName + " ," + mInitials + " " + fName;
    params.put("Display Name", dName);
    try {
    entityManager.modifyEntity(bulkOrchestration.getTarget().getType(),entityId, params);
    } catch (InvalidDataTypeException e) {
    // All/any of your catches go here
    return new BulkEventResult();
