Metadata changes not showing in Bridge

I have added some metadata to some files in Lightroom (both keywords and some IPTC info like city, country, etc).
But when I look at the files in Bridge CS2, I don't see the changes.
Do I need to commit the cahnges somehow?
Per-Gunnar

This problem seems to work in other way also:
If I edit RAW picture in lightroom, give it rating, flag and color label, they doesn't show in bridge. However, if I put keywords in Bridge _after_ editing image in lightroom, keywords never show up in LR.

  • DNG metadata changes not showing up

I've made development changes in Lightroom to photos on my laptop. However, they aren't showing up when I import them to my desktop (I'm not applying any import settings upon import). Any suggestions here would be greatly appriciated!

    Hi Gabe,
Another option which I use is to hook my laptop up to my network (ethernet cabled for speed, but wireless works as well) then from my master catalog on my desktop I import from the catalog on the laptop.  Like Ian's approach of saving the Metadata into the DNG file then importing the DNG files into LR, you get the same end result.  However, by importing the catalog I get the opportunity to place the DNG files in their proper, permenant location automatically and I save all the history steps of the editing I did on the laptop, which unless it was recently changed with a LR update, is lost using the import from DNG files approach.
If you use my approach, I generally delete all images from the laptop catalog, from within LR, and opt to delete files from disk AND catalog, when I am certain they are properly in the master catalog.  I hate doing edits twice on the same images by mistake

This has been an ongoing issue with this camera for a long time. Search the list here or Google the issue to see the many posts on this.
For whatever reason Aperture is unable to report that data. Some have written that it is because the that particular lens/camera combination does not report the f stop information.

  • Metadata not showing in Bridge

Until last week I was happily using Bridge with my picture captions and credits showing in the metadata window.
Now all of a sudden they've gone. The metadata panel only shows the content of the Title field.
The metadata is still there when I open 'file info' in PS but Bridge has decided it doesn't want to show it any more.
I've rebooted, quit and re-launched etc to no avail.
    Any ideas?

Doing so without pressing the option key while restarting Bridge and choosing reset preferences is unlikely to solve problems, try again with this method and choose reset preferences.
See if they came back and then set preferences again to your wishes. There is a dedicated metadata preference tab where you can divine which fields should be shown or not in the metadata panel (mind you, this only affects the visibility of the fields, they are still there in the file info)

  • .tif thumbs and keywords not showing in Bridge.

After creating a new catalog in Lightroom 4, the .tif thumbs and keywords won't show in Bridge? .tif files created via the default catalog still show; and from what I can tell, the catalog setting are identical.

The catalog settings pf Bridge and Lr are not identical.
Bridge doesn't work with a catalog.
Lr works with a catalog; that means it works with a database where everything you do in Lr is stored - automatically (without the need for <save>) and instantly.
Bridge just reads files from disk and doesn't have a catalog (database), and - particularly - it cannot read the Lr catalog.
So, in order to make metadata, such as keywords, captions, title, and also your edits created in Lr visible in Bridge you need a "information shuttle" between Lr and Bridge.
This feature is already built into Lr: When you <save metadata to file> (see below on how to do this), Lr writes the data that are saved in the catalog also to the image file (not in the image pixels!!).
In case of a Raw file, a xmp side-car file is created, in case of TIFFs, PSDs, JPGs the data is written into the file header.
If this is done, Bridge will read the data from file and will display your images accordingly.
To <save metadata to file> select one or several images in the Grid View and go >Metadata >Save metadata to file. Alternatively press Cmd / Ctrl + letter S on your keyboard.
Or, you can select <Automatically write changes to XMP> in >Edit >Catalog Settings > Metadata tab.
Color labels will be transferred correctly only if the textual descriptions for the labels are identical in Lr and in Bridge.

  • Metadata values not showing in Site Studio layout using Idoc Script

    Hi All,
We have a SS layout (secondary) with replaceable regions for showing content that is listed in a primary page dynamic list.
Part of the layout shows contribution elements of Contributor Data File content items, but part of layout also shows metadata values. We use <!--$DOC_INFO.dDocTitle--> to show the content item Title with no problems.
However, for some content items, some metadata values are not showing on the layout - specifically a custom metadata field called xFinishDate (which is of type 'Date' in Config Man). The code <!--$DOC_INFO.xFinishDate--> simply does not work (nothing is displayed) for some content items, despite definitely having a set FinishDate value. Some other content items show this value fine.
The <!--$DOC_INFO.dDocTitle--> value works for ALL items, but the <!--$DOC_INFO.xFinishDate--> does not, and there appears to be no difference between the items that it does, and does not work for. They are all CDF, same DocType, same CheckIn profile, etc.
The non-working items are all released and indexed. Their Content Information in Content Server shows complete metadata. I have resubmitted the non-working items for reconversion in Repo Man but no luck.
Is there something I am missing? Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Luke.

Actually the default DOC_INFO resultset that is on the page seems to be for the content item being loaded into the secondary layout's replaceable regions. This is why DOC_INFO.dDocTitle gives the results expected.
However, I think I have discovered why the xFinishDate value was not showing. Using sapan's code (and modifying it a bit) I was able to print out all the metadata field names and values for default DOC_INFO resultset.
Using this URL as an example: http://www.bond.edu.au/about-bond/jobs-at-bond/BD3_011217
At the top of page region (replaceable) where the Contributor Data File is loaded into, the DOC_INFO resultset is relevant to the content item that is being loaded into the layout (content ID: BD3_011217 - as per the URL format), which is what we want.
However, throughout the Contributor Data File content, if a link is made using the Site Studio link wizard via FCK Editor (in the above case, it is the position description link, which is a link to a PDF) and the link is 'Link to a file' and the 'Choose Target section' is selected as 'Use default website section metadata', the resulting link looks like "http://www.bond.edu.au/about-bond/jobs-at-bond/BD3_011216". Any references to the DOC_INFO resultset on the page after the instance of this link now use the metadata of the content item referred to in the link, not the original content item. I have dumped out the DOC_INFO fields/values in different parts of the layout to prove this. The linked content item has no xFinishDate value so this is why nothing displays (displaying xFinishDate needs to happen after the link to the position description).
I guess I need to either:
    - change the way the link is made to the content item to "Link to the Content Item's URL", but I would prefer not to expose the resulting path e.g. "[!--$HttpRelativeWebRoot--]groups/group-name/@account-name/documents/content-type/content-id.pdf"
    - explicitly make a resultset using <!--$executeService("SS_GET_SEARCH_RESULTS")--> with the content ID I know I want and use it instead of the default DOC_INFO one. Is there any other way to make a resultset comprising of a single item's metadata?

  • Description/metadata changes not synchronized

I have iTunes set to automatically sync all movies and tv shows in my library to Apple TV. When I add movies and shows they come in with no metadata so I edit the info in iTunes. I usually see the Apple TV sync process start up, and I stop it while editing the metadata. Once I'm done cleaning up the files I go to the Apple TV tab and click on sync, and I see it transfer all the new files. For whatever reason the metadata changes are not reflected in the newly uploaded files.
Is this something others have seen? I find manually fixing the metadata a bit unwieldy and time consuming as it is, so this problem makes getting good files onto the Apple TV that much more annoying.
Has anyone else seen this issue or have any recommendations on how to get the Apple TV to see these metadata changes?
    Thanks.

This thread <http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5172730> points to a bug that allows those who use 'Sync All' to remove and re-send updated movies easily.
Just uncheck the problematic files, manually Sync Apple TV, re-check the files, and do another manual sync.
That we have to do this is beyond silly.

  • Managed Metadata Fields not showing up in preview mode

In our SharePoint 2013 Publishing page, managed metadata fields doesn't show in preview, they show up only in edit mode or after we publish page.
    Is this bug?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that the managed metadata fields not display in preview.
I tried to reproduce the issue, the managed metadata fields worked well in my environment.
I create a publishing page, add a library web part which contained managed metadata columns.
Then click the preview option in the ribbon, the managed metadata columns worked well.
Did the issue occur in other publishing pages? You can create a new publishing page to check whether it works.
Did you use the compatibility mode or add the site into trusted sites?
You can use compatibility mode to check whether it works.
    Open IE->Tools->Compatibility View Settings
You can also add the site into Trusted sites.
Open the IE->Internet Options->Security->Sites->add the site into the Websites, then check whether it works.
What's more, you can use other browsers to check whether it works, such as Firefox, Chrome.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Incopy changes not showing up in InDesign

I have an InCopy story in which the editor made several edits and applied several style sheets; however, those changes are not showing up in the InDesign file. The InDesign file does not show that the story is "out of date." When I open the actual INCX file, the changes are in the file and if I unlink the story from InDesign, delete the text, then re-link the story, the changes now appear.
We were able to fix this instance and did not loose any text; however, I just wondered if anyone else has had this happen and if there's a known cause for this.

I think your understanding is correct - when double clicked it DOES open the appropriate InDesign file, and it DOES clear the "Package" icon in the assignments palette next to the assignment. But it DOES NOT show the modified incopy "incx" files as has been modified.
Normally it would show it needing to be modified, in which case, like you said, you are prompted (well, there's not a dialog box at that time, but you see the yellow warning icon next to the "incx" file in the Links or Assignments palettes) to update the link(s).
Again this is a hit or miss proposition. The designer and I worked on this for a few hours last week. My contention was that it had something to do with where she had the Exported InCopy "incx" files; where she created the assignment (clicking on the Change button in the New Assignment dialog); or where she put the "indp" package when it she received the modified edits. So we tinkered with changing these paths. We also switched from "Exporting Layer", which is our normal process to just Exporting an individual selected article. Using the "Exporting Layer" and keeping the assignment in the default path (with the InDesign file) seemed to work. But we didn't do enough of that scenario to prove it consistently worked. She will be doing that over the next few live jobs.
But none of those really made sense to me as the culprit. I'm contemplating my next move for testing. Of course today with my local testing, I couldn't reproduce the problem. We're on Window's servers via SMB, maybe that's got something to do with it.

  • InfoViewBranding changes not showing

    Hello,
I followed steps below for branding changes on 4.1 but I cannot get changes to show. Below are steps I've done.
    1.) Unpackaged com.businessobjects.webpath.InfoViewBranding.jar
2.) Made my changes to customize.css and added my images and removed sample folder so now I have structure.
         \META-INF
         \web
              \css
                   customize.css
              \images
3.) Repackaged it and placed at <INSTALLDIR>\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\warfiles\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\eclipse\plugins
    4.) Stopped Tomcat
    4.) Deployed files to Tomcat
    5.) Started Tomcat
Now in SAP BusinessObjects\tomcat\work\Catalina\localhost\BOE\eclipse\plugins I can see my webpath.InfoViewBranding folder with same structure as above with my new images. Everything looks good. The changes however dont show in the launchpad. I restarted Tomcat serveral times, deleted and recreated localhost folder, cleared my own browser cache. Everything I can think of but its not using webpath.InfoViewBranding folder. Still using default. Any other ideas? The folder structure is absolutley correct.
    Thank You

It was due to the manifest.mf file being blank after repackaging. Jason gave me this resolution below onTutorial: Branding and Theming of BI launch pad. This was my fix.
    Alex,
I finally figured out the problem, at least what was keeping my branding from working, and it sounds like you may be experiencing the same thing. It had to do with the jar command to repackage the com.businessobjects.webpath.InfoViewBranding.jar file in the SAP Business Objects BI Customization Guide. The command they tell you to use is:
    jar cf com.businessobjects.webpath.InfoViewBranding.jar web META-INF
This command creates a new (blank) MANIFEST.MF file in the META-INF directory. I use the following command instead:
    jar cfm com.businessobjects.webpath.InfoViewBranding.jar MANIFEST.MF web
NOTE: I moved the MANIFEST.MF file out of the META-INF folder and had it at the same level as the web folder just to make typing the command easier. It will create a META-INF folder and include the MANIFEST.MF file.
After finding the blank MANIFEST.MF file, I used this Java tutorial on JAR files to figure out what was causing the issue: http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/deployment/jar/index.html
Specifically, the details of the command I used above to package the manifest file is located here: http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/deployment/jar/modman.html
    Hope this helps,
    Jason

  • Contribute changes not showing after site update

A few months ago I added a top level navigation item to a client site.  That made changes to the code for every page in the site, but the changes the client had made with Contribute 4 still showed in browsers.
Just posted the pages for another addition to top level nav.  This again made changes to the code on every page of the site.  This time the Contribute changes do not show in browsers.
The Contribute files are still in their folders on the server.
Navigation to the pages modified in Contribute has not changed.
Is there a simple fix to wake up the Contribute files?

If there are any errors in yur code, FB will not compile

  • Camera Raw Defaults & Presets not showing menus (BRIDGE)

    Hi There
I just upgraded to a new version of PS CS3 & Bridge and the option to apply Presets, or to Apply Camera Raw Defaults is not showing when I right click a file in Bridge. It also doesnt show up in the menu. I need to be able to Batch process hundreds of photos at a time and then convert them to Tif formats. I used to be able to do this by applying my Adobe Camera Defaults to many images at once. How do I do this now????
I am running Bridge 2.0.0975 and PS 10. Help!! This is critical for me!!!
    thanks so much!

    > Even if old versions are available for download, having older versions available on disk in case of malfunction is a perfectly acceptable practice.
    > This applies to any update of any software.
Agreed. I have gigabytes of disk space packed full of iso's, dmgs, and zips for
(almost) all of the software I've installed on my computers. It's a pain to
manage sometimes, but I know I can go back and reinstall PS7 (for instance) if I
need to even though I have no clue where the CD is at. It's just one part of my
configuration management and backup strategy. I don't have a sysadmin to take
care of this kind of thing for me any more, unfortunately, so I have to do it
    myself.
This plan also has the advantage that I don't have to be online to download
older versions from a vendors site (if it's even available) or go searching for
a seeded torrent (if it's not).
I'm not saying this approach is good for every one or even good for anyone but
me, but it is a perfectly valid way of doing things.

  • Lightroom Keywords not showing in Bridge

    Hi all!
Our companyy photographer uses Lightroom to archive and keyword all of his pictures, which is fine!
The graphic designer, who uses the pictures (that's me!) has to search the picture archives using Bridge (again, fine).
However, the keywords that the photographer painstakingly puts in when he imports images into Lightroom do not show up when I search using Bridge!
We have tried selecting images in Lightroom and hitting Command-S to save the keywords to the file itself. But this doesn't seem to work!
Anyone got any suggestions / help?
For reference, we are both using up-to-date desktops and software (as of March 2010).

Just tried two files with keyword in Lightroom 2 and using Export as PSD to
a folder I have pointed Bridge to. Using the quick search at top of the path
bar or find command in Bridge does provided me the files with that keyword

  • Changes not showing

    hi,
when i compare two models changes in views and packages from relational model don`t showing. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi Philip,
When I compare two different models or when I compare a data dictionary with a model,
the packages and the packages bodies are not part of this comparison,
you can select the packages in the menus but if you have different code in the packages is not showed in the result neither in the DDL preview,
different privileges or any other property are not showed also,
let me know if you understand the requirement now,
I'm conscience that this requirement has been asked for other users in the past,
    I mean,
If I'm developing a package in the SQL Developer and after end the development I want to refresh the code of the package that I have in the model,
I can open the model directly in the SQL Developer and edit the package, copy and paste the code to the package in the model and commit the change to the subversion,
that's really helpful but if I want to merge my model with the changes in the code to other model, no differences will be appear in the result comparison also no possibility to compare it with other databases (datadictionary)
    Thanks in advance
