Missing workbooks

Howdy Gurus,
We have some workbooks that appear to have gone missing.  These comprise about 4 workbooks from two totally unrelated infocubes that were working fine on Friday, and on Monday we cannot find them if we search for them in BEx.  People that had run them in the past and had them in their BEx History get the following error when they try to run them from their History:
“document store operation failed due to missing authorizations”
Here’s the troubleshooting I’ve done so far:
I don’t believe it’s an authorization issue because the user that got this error has the SAP_All profile, and when I look in SU53 for this user there are no authorization errors.  People could run these workbooks fine a few days ago, and no changes were done to the roles since then.
I don’t believe the workbooks have been deleted because we can find them if we look in the Metadata Repository, and one has a last changed date of a month ago.
These workbooks have been under development for the past couple of months directly in our production system, so there should be no transport issues.
We’re running BW 3.5 on Oracle 10g.
I’ve never run across this before, and I’m not sure where I should look next.  Can anybody point me in the right direction?
Thank you very much!

Hi,
when you did not transport any workbooks or queries how can you find them in prod.
If that is not the case check....
RSRWORKBOOK(table)- if you have workbook ID
RRMX_WORKBOOK_LIST_GET -function module
hope this helps you.....

  • Missing workbook text elements

    Hello,
After upgrading to BI7 we are experiencing an issue with the missing text elements. We use workbooks with a sheet to receive the query and then a macro to reformat the query to user display form. The query sheet generally has a text element area and then a data area. When building the workbook we select the text element object and turn on all the text elements, this makes debugging easier and sometimes the text elements are used in the end report. Randomly after saving the workbook the text elements are turned off and on subsequent executions they are not displayed. The workbook then requires modifications to turn on the text elements, save the workbook and then transport.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rick

    Hello,
After some testing of the fixes that were applied we are still experiencing the issue with disappearing text elements.
Any additional information or recommendations would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Missing Workbook in Production

    Hello Friends,
I am getting below error while opening a report.
"Workbook doesnot exist in the document store"
Looks like workbook is lost in production.
Can someone please tell me, how to restore this back? This is a production report and need to be replaced as soon as possible.
Appreciate your help and points will be assigned.
    Thanks
    Priya

    Hi Priya,
There is no Option to Restore the Deleted workbook.
But You Can check the Log by Executing the ABAP Program RRMX_WORKBOOKS_GARBAGE_COLLECT in SE38.Here you can find the ID of your work book which was Deleted. There by you can Transport the workbook from Development Server.
or Once you get the workbook ID that was Deleted Go to Try to fin the Request that has this workbook Just Re-Import that Request.
    Thanks,

  • Missing Workbook Variants on NW04's Upgrade

SAP has changed the way Workbook Variants are stored in BI70. Has anyone run into this problem during the upgrade? How did you conver these?

    Hi Ken,
All pleasure was for me to help you.
I don't know much about BPS, but if you need to write a program even custom one, you surely need a Key,
You need develpper Key, to write a code custom or not,
Every time I need a key, I Usualy ask the Admin, thy generate the key on SAP service marketPlace
You have to transport your new objects created on Dev to Quality then Prod if you need them on these system othewise, just play with it in Dév, once you're done delete them
    Hope it helps

  • Local Workbooks Missing under Favorites

    Hi BW Gurus
We have upgraded to NW2004S SP12 and found old workbooks(local) are missing (under favorites) even after activating Personalization in BEX (SPRO).
The workbook tables has all the local workbooks in the corresponding tables(RSRWBINDEX,RSRWBSTORE) but it is not displaying when you click on Favorites in the BEx for WORKBOOKs.
    I never faced this issue with SP7 & SP9.
I really appreciate if someone can share their knowledge or solution.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Deepu
Thanks for taking your time to reply to this message.
I looked in to the table and these are my findings.
    SMEN_BUFF has zero records
    SMEN_BUFFI has 15 records
    SMEN_BUFFC has >400 records.
The userid who complained about missing workbooks has couple of entries in
    SMEN_BUFFI & SMENBUFFC tables.
Can you please explain me what are these tables ? and what should i look for ?.
    Thank you once again.

  • DB schema migration of Apps mode EUL

    Hi,
we have a DEV environment with an APPS mode EUL (EUL4_US) that has been upgraded to 10.1.2 and has a custom business area with a lot of custom folders and workbooks. Discoverer desktop is currently the primary mechanism for creating and viewing reports. The DEV environment also had the 'The Discoverer V5 EUL' administration business area and workbooks installed fine.
We have tried to migrate this to a testing environment using the database level imp/exp procedures after generating all the business views on the test box along with compiling all customisations (functions/views etc.).
Since the migration, none of the non-SYSADMIN user owned workbooks appear and the admin business area didn't 'obviously' migrate across properly (even though the functions were registered ok).
We noticed on the target env that the Apps user that owned the workbooks on DEV did not exist on test. We created the user, but it made no difference.
We tried to import the admin eex file again in refresh mode but received errors such as:
Access is denied trying to modify the Folder with identifier 'EUL5_BATCH_QUERIES'
...even though we cannot see the businss area from admin edition when logged in with Business Views Setup responsibility.
Importing the eex file in 'rename' mode was semi-successful - the business area and workbooks imported, but the workbooks failed to open with missing item errors (which needed substituting).
Creating a query from scratch against the admin folder EUL5_WORKBOOK_MANAGEMENT shows all the 'missing' workbooks along with their owner.
What is happening? What can I do to address the issues? It looks like a security problem.
    Cheers,
    John

    Further news.
I've sorted out the 'missing' business area. I needed to login as EUL4_US in database mode to grant the business area to the apps responsibilities. Not sure why the import didn't take care of that.
That just leaves the issue of missing workbooks. Running the standard Workbook Management report shows a weird issue:
All the workbooks are shown on the workbook access tab but the page item 'document created by' shows '***Undefined error 2***'.
Does the ownership get stored in the EUL tables as an id or as the username? Just wondering whether my Apps user has a different fnd user id between environments and that is causing the missing workbooks issues.

  • Workbook Text Elements are missing After Upgrade to BI7.0

    Hi All
I am unable to see "Text Elements" in Workbook which is migrated from BW3.x to BI 7.0.
    I am using Windows XP, MS-office 2007, GUI 710 FEP5.
workbook is working fine with Bex 3.0
I had checked all the pre- requisite for BI 7.0 and BEx .
    Please advise me.
    Regards
    Vivek Tripathi

This is an Known issue while upgrading WB's to BI7 and we have posted the same to SAP.
    Try this procedure,
Open your 3.x Wb in BI7-bex - Click okie on Bex upgrade popup.
Click on change variables in your WB now and enter necessary variable values.
Now save you WB in BI7-Bex . Try re opening the same WB,
You have to see your text elements now after refresh.
if u save the same WB, w/o refresh or change varaibles, you will again miss text elements.
The below is the reply from SAP.
" As following to our call, I was able to open the workbook sap_test2( test WB that SAP has created in our system to replicate the problem) and to refresh it in the latest patch 17. However after saving it without
refreshing it, I was not able to open the workbook. so we are investigating the issue.however as temporary workaround you can the following
    1. Eenable the "Refresh workbook on open" property. this will prevent
user from saving workbook without refreshing
    2. You can apply a ABAP note which disallow users to upgrade 3.x
workbooks. But the note is currently in pilot released."
Ohoo, I think you are from Satyam..the above is the latest info that we got from SAP.

  • Workbook: Document store operation failed due to missing authorization

    Hello authorizer gurus,
    I have got 3.5.
    I have transported.
I try to open a workbook.
I am getting a Error Message:
Document store operation failed due to missing authorization
Newly saved Queries as workbook can be openend.
    What's wrong ?
    Thank You
    Martin Sautter

    Martin,
To get a detailed message about the error (including which authorization objects the user needs to have to be able to perform the action that caused the error) use ST22. It sounds like they are missing the Open authorization for workbooks.
    Cheers,

  • Missing Unfiled Colums in Workbook

    Hi Gurus,
    We are on BI7.0, SP14.
I have created a Workbook with containg different coloumns, some with data and remaining without data.  It is found to be working fine.
    The problem is:
When I try to do the settings of the Workbook Proparties (Refresh Workbook on open), the unfilled columns (columns w/o data) are found to be missing.
What would be the solution for this, so that I can see all the coloumns (i.e. columns with and without data) even after settings done for the workbook.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Maruthi

    Dear Maruti,
If you have done Cell to cell by just using excel features then you should get those columns without any problem.
There are no special settings for this , unless you are using PIVOT tables and stuff like that.
Can you please let me know how many columns are there in your query and how many are beeing displayed in your workbook.
    regards
    VK

  • Missing join in workbook

Client exported a business prior to making modifications. The modifications were not going well, so they restored by importing the business area. During import, the selection was made to rename the existing objects. So now there are 2 BAs "BA" and "BA 1". BA is the pre-modification business area, and "BA 1" contains the modifications. The client then deleted "BA 1" thinking everything would be restored prior to the modifications.
They aren't. To further complicate things, several folders in the business area were shared with other business areas (so now there are "Folder 1" objects all over the place). When users open workbooks, they are getting the error:
Cannot join tables used in the workbook. Join "" not found in the EUL.
Running the workbook dump utility (d51wkdmp) throws:
DCEException - Internal EUL Error: InvalidId - Failed to find EUL element by id
Any ideas on how to find out which join(s) are missing, or a way to gracefully back out the export/import that took place?

Boy, what a mess. I am thinking if it would be possible to delete business areas BA and BA1, then reimport the pre-modification business area. The concern I would have is if the folders in this business area BA are also used in other business areas. If just BA and BA1, then I think you would be okay. But if used in BA, BAC, BAD, BAE, and so forth, then you have to be careful.
When they deleted business area BA1, do they remember what option they selected? Was it delete the business area and its folders option? Kind of sounds like that is what happened. If you do that and the folders are used in other business areas, they should not get removed. But since you did the rename option on the import, those existing folders would have been renamed and if not used in any other business area, would have been deleted.
The problem is that Discoverer tends to work off its internal id values, not the names. So the original folders and joins and stuff would have had unique internal id values that your workbooks are looking for. The reimported business area, though it has the right names, would have new internal id values, that the workbooks do not know about, and thus the problems you are having now.
Now I admit that is guessing on my part. I know the internal id values are there and would be unique. Exactly how Discoverer tracks its join usage in workbooks, that part I have never seen any documentation on.
This may be something where you want to log a service request with Oracle support and see what they suggest on how to best recover from this situation. Those would be the folks who would best understand the internal (behind the scene) workings of Discoverer.
    Good luck.

  • Running workbook from .bat fails to start application missing CORE40 dll

I have been running several workbook via windows task scheduler / vbscript &/or bat files.
I now have a new box which I access thru Remote Desktop Connection, so I can run all these automated updates without having my screen blinking everytime a shedule workbook starts.
If I click on the actual Discoverer icon, or the discoverer workbook shortuct, all works well.
If I click on the .bat file, or try to run the workbook via the cmd , it gives me the following error:
DIS4USR.EXE – Unable To Locate Component
“this application has failed to start because CORE40.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.”
The dll is under c/orant/bin/core40.dll, which is where I've read it should be, and it works fine in my regular box...
    Please help! URGENT :)
    Thanks!

    Hello
Check the PATH environment variables for the machine you are on and the one you are connecting to.
You might not have Discoverer's objects in the PATH.
Another possibility is that you have more than one piece of ORACLE software on the machine and you may need to also set the ORACLE_HOME within the BAT file.
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • BEx: diagram missing in workbook

    Dear experts,
I have included a diagram in a workbook (via menu -> layout -> diagram) and saved the workbook.
When I start the workbook again (via role in SAP) the diagram is disappeared.
We use BI 7.0, but the query still was created under BW 3.5.
Has anybody an idea what's wrong?
    Thanks in advance!

  • CS4 says missing or unavail codec when trying to open .avi file in abobe workbook cd

I am running CS4 on a Mac and when I try to open a lesson from the Adobe lessons (In a Book series) I am getting a message that the codec is missing or unavailable for the AVI file.  Actually, it cannot find the file initially, and when I point it to it in the lessons directory I get the message when it trys to open.  Help
    Thanks...
    Scott

First, thank you for the response.  I went in the QT library and removed the xvid codec "XviD_Codec 1.0 alpha.component" and the file still doesn't play in either QT or CS4.  I can hear the audio, but there is no video.  I earlier had tried downloading other codecs for QT, but they don't appear in the library.  I actually started by deleting QT and reinstalling, but that didn't work either.  The video plays in VLC.  When I look at video properties on QT it says the format is DVSD.  I read somewhere else that if I can get the file to play in QT then it sould play in Premiere also...
ok... editing my answer.... I deleted the same codec from the main library/quicktime and it all works fine!  I initally deleted it from the QT library under a user (me) and that didn't fix it...   Thanks a lot!

  • Workbook dependent missing in Folder properties

    Hi,
I had encountered a problem. When I create a workbook in Discoverer Desktop and saved. In Discoverer Administrator, I am able to see the workbook name under the Folder's Properties, Dependents tab.
However, if I open the same workbook in Discoverer Plus(web-based) and just do a save. The workbook name will disappear under the Folder's Properties in Discoverer Administrator.
If I try to open the same workbook in Discoverer Desktop again and do a save. The workbook name will appear again under the Folder's Properties, Dependents tab.
I am using the same username to login both Discoverer Desktop and Plus. The Default EUL for both is the same.
    Discoverer Administrator version 9.0.2.00.00
    Discoverer Desktop version 9.0.2.0.0
    Discoverer Plus version 9.0.2.54.01
Is there any settings I need to do in Discoverer Plus in order to solve this problem. Pls Advise. Thanks.

Problem solved. The file manifest.mf had vanished from the project. Replacing it with one copied from another project sorted it.

  • Missing Roles in workbook

The basis team installed the Enchancement Package on BW Sandbox last month.  When I tried to open the workbook, it only show only one role, but it should be showing others roles.   Also, when I tried to save a workbook and assign to a role, I do see the complete list of the roles.
On the SAP menu (backend tools), I do see complete list of the roles on the user menu.  I did check the user setting and its roles, and the roles are active (not expired).
I am wondering how to fix the problem, and I am wondering will the latest support pack for frontend will solve it or what other thing we need to do?

    Hi Glenn,
    Please check the following:
The settings in SSM_CUST defines a compress mechanism for the user menu
known as "Redundancy avoidance" and described in notes 357877 and 357693
Redundancy avoidance deletes easy access menu entries for doubled
    transaction codes whenever SSM_CUST contains
    1. an entry CONDENSE_MENU with PATH = 'YES' and
    2. either an entry DELETE_DOUBLE_TCODE with PATH = 'YES' or no entry
    DELETE_DOUBLE_TCODES, at all.
If you don't want doubled transaction codes to be deleted, then simply
add an entry DELETE_DOUBLE_TCODES with PATH = 'NO' into table SSM_CUST.
    Please enter
DELETE_DOUBLE_TCODES with PATH = 'NO' into table SSM_CUST
    and retest this issue...
    many thanks
    Orla.
