Mission Control: Trying to find my class in Memleak in Reference Type

Hi
I'm trying to create some demonstrations of Mission Control and I want to create an example where I have a memory leak and I want to get to my class using reference type.
This is my code:
public class ThunderBombCracker {
public ThunderBombCracker() {
public void boom() {
for (int index = 0; index < 10; index++) {
new Thread("ThunderBombCracker " + index) {
public void run() {
List<ClientTo> lista = new ArrayList<ClientTo>();
try {
Random random = new Random();
for (int index1 = 0; index1 < 120000; index1++) {
byte[] buffer = new byte[16];
for (int index2 = 0; index2 < 16; index2++) {
buffer[index2] = (byte) (65 + random.nextInt(32));
lista.add(new ClienteTo(new String(buffer)));
sleep(1);
sleep(120000);
lista.size();
} catch (Throwable e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}.start();
public static void main(String[] args) {
ThunderBombCracker boom = new ThunderBombCracker();
boom.boom();
Basically I create a lot of 16 character Strings and pass them to my own class ClientTo and wait for 1 minute. Now, when I run memleak I can see a lot of char[], a lot of Strings, a lot of ClientTo. But if I try to check the reference types of String it won't show ClientTo. Maybe I'm missing something here about how JRockit or Memleak works.
Regards,
Néstor Boscán

Yes that is what I'm doing with the code. I'm creating Strings that are assigned to a ClientTo object and then added to a list. But I cannot see that the MemLeak shows me the reference between ClientTo and String.

  • Trying to find action class that acts behind the search button in a jsp

    Hi all,
    I am trying to change the Search Functionality of Standard B2B Web Shop. In B2B Web shop , if we click on Products tab on left hand side, we get a search box and if we search for a product, in standard system the search will return duplicates. If a product is assigned to more than one area in the catalog, it will show up on the results of the search more than one time.
    But my requirement is that I have to filter out the duplicates and display the link for the first instance found. For that I figured out the jsp and it is  b2b/organizer-content-product-search1.jsp and now I want to find out which action class it is calling.  Does anyone know which action class is it calling?
    Regards,
    Jessica Sam

    Hi Jessica,
    File b2b/organizer-content-product-search1.jsp call action="<isa:webappsURL name="b2b/nextquicksearch.do" />" you can find which class is calling in config.xml file. Below is the entry from config.xml file.
    <action path="/b2b/nextquicksearch" input="/b2b/organizer-content-product-search1.jsp" type="com.sap.isa.isacore.action.QuickSearchAction" name="quickSearchForm" validate="true">
                   <forward name="success" path="/b2b/organizer-content-product-search1.jsp"/>
                   <forward name="failed" path="/b2b/organizer-content-product-search.jsp"/>
              </action>
    It is calling com.sap.isa.isacore.action.QuickSearchAction Action class.  To get more idea and clear picture about how search is working in ISA please refer [Dev and Ext guide|https://websmp206.sap-ag.de/%7Esapdownload/011000358700000469462006E/SAP_ISA50_DevAndExtGuide.pdf]
    Please Goto Page 101-Generic Search It will give you more detail about how search is working in ISA.
    I hope this inofrmation will help you.

  • Trying to find a class or method for showingStatus in application StatusBar

    hey ever language has a class or method to show the status of the application in the status bar but i have not been able to find one in java uptill now i am still searching for some thing to help is there any one that can help me

    Implementing a status bar is up to you, but it's not
    hard. Use BorderLayout as the layout manager of your
    main window, add JLabel statusJLabel to
    BorderLayout.SOUTH, and call statusJLabel.setText with
    each status message.can you be more specific about the call thingy
    let say i have manu items like
    File > open
    Close
    Save
    Print
    Exit
    now when i bring my mouse on it or go up and down the list the status should show like open, close, save, print, exit.

  • Trying to find a class(es) that...

    Converts various measurements such as:
    Linear conversions (as feet to inches)
    Volume conversions (as gallons to liters, gallons to cubic inches)
    And
    Does anyone know if a class exists that calculates the volume of various shaped objects?

    I don't have one, but there are two approaches.
    1) Create a class with static methods like FeetToInches.
    2) Better yet, use OO design. Create object for the different measurements like inch, foot, mile, and then create constructors which take in the other types as parameters. this way, you would never have programatic confusion about what a number represents since it would always properly be what it is.

  • Mission Control is a step backwards

    As kids we learn how to organize things and more often than not, the first step is to lay out everything so you can see EVERYTHING. Picking one out of 20 is really EASY for us humans. That's what we learn as kids -- putting stuff together like puzzles. This comes naturally. And Expose+Spaces was just that....
    I have been using Mission Control for a a long time now but I can't for the life of me figure out why Apple would ditch something that has worked well in the past.
    Mac OS Lion's Mission Control tries to be smart, but its being smart in all the wrong places:
    Side swipe is inefficient. I have quite a few apps running in full screen. I get tired of swiping left and right to "locate" my stuff.
    Full screen apps and dashboard as tiny thumbnails in mission control? Its a cluster**** (pardon my frustration here) of stuff put together and it confuses me more that the previous expose+spaces.
    Apps of the same kind grouped together? Now I have this sinking/uneasy feeling that I can't find what I'm looking for because its not showing me *all* my windows or is buried under some other window. The confidence I had with expose+spaces is now lost.
    When Windows came out with Win+Tab functions (that 3D window thing) I always said how really useuless that was when compared to expose especially because it hid 1 window behind another. And fast forward 3+ years, Mac OS X is taking the same step back by grouping all browser windows together.
    Expose+Space was simple, uncomplicated and unassuming.
    Mission Control is complex, complicated and totally assuming.
    Please bring Expose+Spaces back or evolve Mission Control to something like it.
    PS-1: Expose of safari should include tabs in the expose view. Why is this so hard? Why do I need to open new safari windows to see it in expose/Mission control?
    PS-2: I know there's been feedback around this in this forum and I'm doing my part to make myself heard hopefully by Apple -- I've done the feedback thing already.

    Yay! Apple listened, err, I think.
    http://osxdaily.com/2012/07/30/expose-mac-os-x-mountain-lion/
    You can almost get the old style Expose back with "Group windows by application" turned off in Mountain Lion.
    Not entirely quite the same as the old style Expose. But I can live with this. Side swipe is still inefficient and I end up doing this often:
    - Swipe left
    - Oops, this isn't the right window.
    - Swipe up to get Mission Control.
    - Find the right window.
    Side swipe never gives me the thing I'm looking for and as a result I'm not very confident using it unless I have a single full screen app running. Anyway I have adjusted to use Mission Control instead to switch between full screen apps. Its not all that bad with that setup.
    Now, Safari 6 has side swipe and I'm not loving it either. But I guess we'll have to live with it. Anything is better than nothing I guess..

  • Find the Class Name in a static method

    Hi All,
    I am trying to find the class name inside the static main method. I want to write one main method that loads an instance of the class. Other folks have suggested tricks with the security manager or creating an Exception to look at the stack trace, but these methods dont reflect the inheritance. I want SUBCLASSES to be able to run from the command line using the inherited main method.
    public static void main(String args[]){
          JPanel thisJPanel = (JPanel) Class.forName(????).newInstance();
    }Any Ideas

    I want
    SUBCLASSES to be able to run from the command line
    using the inherited main method.Someone pointed this out already but more directly, static methods are not inherited.
    The behavior you desire ca be achieved using the Factory pattern.
    The idea of being able to subclass an application is a little bizarre. Why don't you just do something like this:
    public static void main(String[] args){
        // check that there is at least one parameter
        JPanel thisJPanel = (JPanel) Class.forName(args[0]).newInstance();
    }

  • Unable to move Finder between Spaces in Mission Control

    This problem has been plaguing me for several months now even before I upgraded to Mountain Lion from Lion. And for some reason I just can't seem to move the Finder (and some other apps) between indvidual spaces in Mission Control. Even worse, when I use my Magic Mouse to swip to another space, the Finder also appears in the other Space as well.
    I tried Repairing Permissions, doing a Safe Boot, Defragmenting (using third party app which did speed up performance but not fix the issue), and restoring from Time Machine backup. Nothing seems to fix it. I'm on a 2009 27 inch iMac with Intel Core 2 Duo. If any of you are experiencing this problem it be great to see if a solution was ever found. My last option would be to completely start from scratch but it be a real hassle for me (with so many third party apps backlogs etc that I'd have to find someway of transferring). Thanks.

    Never mind I just fixed the problem by searching around the community and finding this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4024312
    Anyway it was as simple as holding down the application in the dock and just selecting "Options -> Assign to -> None (rather than All Desktops).

  • Mission Control + Finder laggy since update

    Hello,
    i bought a new Macbook Air 2014 i5 with 8GB Ram in May with Mavericks pre-installed. It was fast, snappy and responsive until i updated to Yosemite.
    The first thing i noticed was that Mission Control was and still is not as smooth as before while many windows/apps are open. Especially soundcloud.com running in the background slowed it down.
    Since yesterday Finder is not as fast as it used to be. Switching between folders takes longer than usual and the CPU Usage goes up a lot.
    It's not unusable in any way, but compared to the superfast performance i'm used to it's very slow.
    Fixes i already tried with no success:
    - SMC Reset
    - Deleting the com.apple.finder.plist
    - Repair Disc Tool
    - a lot of restarts
    If i can't fix this problem the next thing i will do is a clean re-install of Yosemite, but i hope won't have to do that.
    Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
    Phil

    I'm seeing the same thing with the same machine.

    I am trying to use powerpoint but when I open a document I want to work on it does not open on my desktop. It appears as open on mission control but it disappears offscreen. How can I get it to open where i need it and can work on it?

    It's almost certainly too late.
    The time to create a backup is before a catastrophe.  After a catastrophe, it's too late.

  • After installing Lion os I cannot see my desktop 1 nor can I see my open windows when I go to finder, I just get the grey/black background that comes with mission control. Any ideas as to how to solve this problem?

    The top picture is what my Desktop 1 looks like. And the picture below is what my desktop looks like after clicking mission control. Ive tried changing wallpapers, changing preferences, etc. and I still can't figure out what's wrong. As you can see, on mission control you can't see any of the open windows, or anything that I have placed on my desktop. Any ideas as to how to solve this issue?

    Hello cor-el, thanks for your reply. I changed my settings for downloads to desktop and it has appeared on there. When I double click I am asked which program I want to open file. I click firefox and another box "opening install" says I have chosen to open the file which is an application and do I want to save it. This is the only real option so I press save file. I get a box saying this is an executable file which may contain viruses - do you want to run. I press ok and the final box showing C drive file name and desktop appears stating application not found.
    This happens the same whenever I try to install.
    To my untrained eye the application is not being recognised as an application and I cannot work out how to get it to do that.
    My plugin is still showing as out of date.
    Is there anything you could suggest. Thanks for your time.

  • Why don't I see any of my application's classes in Mission Control?

    Hi Forum,
    My system: JRockit JVM version R28.0.0-679-130297-1.6.0_17-20100312-2123-windows-ia32, Oracle® JRockit Mission Control 4.0.0 (M4.0.0-20, 130319); JAX-WS annotated Web Services; EJB 3.0 annotated SLSBs;
    When either analyzing the live remote WLS/OSB server through JRMC's management console, or viewing a previously-dumped jfr file in JRMC, how come I don't see any of my application's classes in any of the various traces (memory, gc, events, etc.)?
    The application's architecture is basically:
                             OSB
         (proxies, xquery transformations, biz svcs)
                              |
                             WLS
               (jms, jax-ws, ejb, jdbc, jaxb)                         I've created and viewed a couple dozen jfr recordings. I've patiently trawled the management console traces. But I've yet to see any of my application's classes; nor any of the classes from the apis I've listed in my "WLS" layer above (jms, jax-ws, ejb, jdbc, jaxb).
    All I ever see in JRMC's management console or in my flight recordings are either classes at the OSB infrastructure-related, or WLS container-related classes. Plus, of course, the usual JDK classes.
    Based on the "Shows classes that take up more than 0.5% of the heap..." label I've seen displayed on the "Object Statistics/Heap Contents" tab, I've been assuming that my applications classes (plus those other api classes above) just don't take up more than half a percent of the heap. Is that right? If so, then that's "a good thing"! Right?
    If I've assumed incorrectly, please can anybody fill me in on where to look, or how to see more application-related classes?
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi,
    That sounds really strange, I can't imagine how some classes could be filtered out. There is no filtering mechanism built into the JVM, the Management Console or Flight Recorder.
    Are you 100.00% sure you are connected to the right JVM and that your application has loaded correctly?
    I've been assuming that my applications classes (plus those other api classes above) just don't take up more than half a percent of the heap. Is that right? If so, then that's "a good thing"! Right?
    There is a cut off around 0.5%, if it's good or bad thing depends on what your application is supposed to do :)
    If you want to see all classes with the exact count you can use the Memory Leak Detector, but you have to go to Window -> Preferences-> JRockit Mission Control->Memory Leak Detector->Trend and set the instance count threshold to zero.
    Best regards
    Erik

  • Trying to stay organised with Mission Control Grrrrrrr.....

    I currently have Safari open in full screen mode and 8 windows = 8 spaces.
    I have Preview in full screen mode and 3 docs = 3 spaces
    I have iTunes, iPhoto, Reeder and iCal in full screen mode = 4 spaces
    i have Finder on one desktop and Path Finder on another = 2 spaces
    Therefore I have 17 spaces for 7 apps in total and its a complete mess
    I want all windows for a specific app to be in the SAME destop space (you know, like Spaces in 10.6). I like to flick through all my open web pages using the old command ~ but it doesn't work.
    Spend so much time going to mission control and hunting for the page or doc I want. This is ridiculus. I consider myself a power user and this is wasting so much time.
    It's not that I'm resistant to change but it seems that Mission control is poorly thought out and implemented.
    Am I doing something drastically wrong or is this what we're stuck with?

    I like Snow better as well and YOUD of THUNK it that they could have given you the option to KEEP the other or not, why is it not a preference you can remove or add and let the user able to switch the settings on or off. They look similar and each has a unique gift, but I still choose Snow's... and MissionCritical would probably be better for me if Swipe actually worked... NOPE SWIPE does not work like a lot of other nifty stuff on my laptop.
    I love when I need the full screen to use it, and perhaps if I had 4G instead of 2G it would be better to transition in and out but wait a second I'm sounding like a WINDOWS user --- is APPLE secretly planting ideas in our minds, or do they have the impression that there are so many new windows users the transition backwards won't hurt so BAD... SORRY I miss the day when a MAC just worked and a MAC you could PUSH and PUSH and PUSH and LOAD IT TO THE GILLLS and she'd still deliver that 25# baby. That's right, I'd have 4 browsers open with 20-50 tabs each and sometimes 70-100 tabs in one, usually always had 2-3 browsers with 40-100 open tabs and in and out of excel and word and pages, preview always open it seemed, mail open and closed many times with an occasional iMovie and a quicktime player open, yeah sure it bogged once and ahwile and it had a spinning wheel sometimes but I could see why --- Not with LION - Sorry - No Excuse.

  • Cannot find Mission Control in OSX Lion

    Just got a new macbook and was excited to try out all the new features of OSX Lion. I keep seeing information online about Mission Control, but I am unable to bring it up. Supposedly it is a 3 finger up swipe on the trackpad, but that doesn't do anything when I try it. I can't find it anywhere else on the computer. Please help!

    Mission Control is an application in the Applications folder. There also should be an icon in the Dock that looks like this:
