Here the business case like this "We are implementing SAP for construction company , i have some doubt in enterprise structure becaue in construction company they don't have any perticular manufactureing Plant , there will be have different project site and these go on changeing as per the project period . So my question how to design logistic enterprise structure for construction business" and how to integrate these with PS

    Dear
    1) Each project you can consider as a plant ( where u can valuate the stock at plant level),
    2) and difeerent storage locations under plants depends on your material types like ROH,HALB,ERSA,FERT...ect
    3)purchase organisations like if have a contracts create one referance pur.org and if require create one more pur.org at local purchases
    4)PS consultant has to create each project as WBS element ,under WBS element networks, under networs activities
    5) PS-MM integration
    When ever Project people requires material as per their planning, they required to accocate the material to particulat activity say if they want cement they need to allocate cement to particulat activity ,
       system intern will raise PR at activity level and reservation at newwork level ( item categoty should be L in PS)
    base on the PR , purchasing people can create RFQ or PO ,GR,IR Like MM standard Procedure (PR account assignment will be Q orP)
    based on the resevation GI will be done (m.type 281 Q)

    I will illustrate it with an example as below:
    Scenario: Company ABC having Business operation in India and Singapore. Hence the Orgainsation Structure for SD will be as follows:
    Company Code:
    0001 - ABC Singapore
    0002 - ABC India
    Sales Organization:
    0001 - ABC Singapore
    0002 - ABC India
    Distribution Channel:
    01 - Domestic
    02 - Export
    03 - Intercompany
    Division:
    10 - Consulting
    Possible Sales Area (Sales Organization / Distribution Channel / Division):
    0001 / 01 / 10
    0001 / 02 / 10
    0001 / 03 / 10
    0002 / 01 / 10
    0002 / 02 / 10
    0002 / 03 / 10
    Plants and shipping points requires to be configured as per requirement.
    Try to keep the Organization Structure simple, which will further facilite master data maintainance.

    I am new to Oracle Projects family. I am interested to gain knowledge in Oracle Projects particularly in the modules like Project Costing, Billing, Project Management and Project Contracts.
    I have some specific queries with reference to construction business requirements which are as under:
    1. In what way Project Costing, Project Management and Contracts modules can be helpful for a construction business?
    2. If the business is to construct the villas and then to sell those to different high worth individuals, what all modules from Project family should be implemented?
    3. Any construction business typically engage different contractors (suppliers) for various construction related services. These contractors may submit net or cumulative invoices for the services provided by them. As per terms there could be retainage and recovery of advance paid to the contractors. After applying the retainage and advance recovery, contractor invoice will be certified for payment. How this business requirement will get mapped into Oracle system and in which module? Do I have to use Purchasing module or only Project Contract module is sufficient? Pls specify if any other module is required to be used for mapping this business scenario.
    4. Which Oracle modules are required for handling contractors payment certificates?

  • Help required on Organisation Structure

    Dear All,
    I wanted to prepare a Organisation Structure for one of our Client.
    The Business process is like this , there is one Head office , 25 Branches & 50 Service centres .
    The Head Office & Branches have similar function, i.e of booking the orders , checking the stock ( branches also stock the material ) ,if avialable than despatch, if the stock is not avilable than the stock is replenished from the main warehouse.
    The service centre recieves complaints & defective goods under warranty from the customer , checks  for availabilty of material , issues fresh material  in place of defective material & sends it to the customer ,incase of material is not available than the requistion for the same is sent to the main warehouse & on reciept from warehouse the material given to the client.
    In such scenario, how should I map my Organisation structure.
    Secondly what factors decide whether a unit is to be treated as a plant or a storage location.

    My suggestion is to have
    1 company code
    25 purchasing organizations (or maybe less if you are able to put some of them together)
    50 plants
    but I would need to know much more about how the company works.
    A purchasing organization is defined as:
    A purchasing organization is an organizational unit within logistics subdividing an enterprise according to the requirements of Purchasing. It procures materials and services, negotiates conditions of purchase with vendors, and bears responsibility for such transactions.
    The definition for plant:
    An organizational unit serving to subdivide an enterprise according to production, procurement, maintenance, and materials planning aspects. It is a place where either materials are produced or goods and services provided.
    The defnition for storage location is:
    An organizational unit allowing the differentiation of material stocks within a plant. All data referring to a particular storage location is stored at storage location level. This applies mainly to storage location stocks.
    So deciding if you create a plant with only one storage location assigned or with more than one, it depends if you need to divide your goods in different locations. if they are all grouped in the same location, you can decide to have only one storage location per plant.

    I have to configure Enterprise and Organisation structure for ABC labs ltd.
    It has its office in hyderabad, India.
    The various businesses of the company are:
    1) Information technology:
         a) Services: SAP, Microsoft dynamics etc.
         b) Products: IT products ( web portals)  and bio IT products( portals for hospital management and ayurveda)
    2) Herbal and pharmaceuticals: it is into the sales of some herbal products which are manufactured by some other pharmaceutical company.
    3) Biotechnology: manufacturing enzymes.
    4) Chemistry and Research and development: manufacturing products and research.
    I have created the following enterprise structure, please let me know this is fine or not?

       ABC labs ltd. INDIA  - Company code
      ABC labs ltd. Hyderabad - Personnel Area
    Under this personnel area there are 3 personnel sub areas:
    Information technology - Personnel subarea 1
    Biotech and Bio chem - Personnel  subarea 2

    The organisational Structure which I have created is as following, please let me know this is ok or not?

    You can keep your enterprise structure as follows:
    Company Code: ABC Limited
    Personal Area: ABC Limited
    Personal Subarea: ABC, Hyderabad
    As suggested by you, in future we may have different branches for ABC India, which can be added in Personal Subareas.
    IT, Herbal and Pharma, Biotech, Chem and Research- these can become the part of your organisational structure, since these all units belongs to ABC, H'bad.

  • Relation between Organisation Structure and Business Partner

    My Requirement is to pass any child node to get the corresponding parent node in the organisation structure created by T.Code : PPOMA_CRM.
    I found in HRP1001 table if you pass the BP in SOBID  field you will get the Parent field at OBJID in the same record . again you have to pass the OBJID as SOBID to get the next parent . Here my problem is the Business partner (SOBID) assigned in to two Org .Structure , So it is giving two records in the HRP1001 table . But i want to get the parent node comes under a particular Org Stucture .
    how it is related .

    pass sobid into objid changing otype, ralat and sclas fields depending of what you are looking for.

  • Creating organisation structure (SPRO) for an integrated steel plant

    HI,
    For an integrated steel plant of 2.2 mt capacity (green field) need organisation structure to define. It would be a single legal entity under which the plant would produce wire rods, reinforement bar, billets, coke, sinter, ductile iron pipe, power, pig iron. The ISP will have Blast furnacec, SMS, rolling mill, coke oven, sinter plant, pallete plant, oxygen plant, lime plant, dolo plant, raw materila handling plant, power plant.
    Can any body guide to decide the suitable org structure for such spread of manufacturing facilities. We need to identify the hirarchical structure w.r.t Company, Company code, Controlling area, business area, functional area, plant, profit center, cost center with a visioning that in future, the company would come up with other units also of similary capacity.
    The plant is at green field stage coming up absolutely from scratch. New set of people has formed the work force top to botton.Desigred reporting (MIS) structure not yet crystalised. Have bent of mind to accept best practice. The plant is in Indian environment.

    For the single step spending limit workflow (WF10000276), if the approval limit of the manager1 of the employee is exceeded, then the workitem will be sent to the spending limit approver of manager1 and so on. So each user should have only one SLapprover maintained in the org structure.
    However for the n-step value limit approval workflow, WF14000109, the system determines the first approver based on his approval limit, if this approval limit is exceeded then further approvers will be determined until the last approver has been found with an approval limit that is higher than the value of the shopping cart.

    as we face exactly the same problem, could you please be more specific on what has to be done so that we will be able to see the extra tab? I mean, we can see it in the administrator's console, but not in the user. It would be of great help if you could describe the steps and the content of what should be added, as we have no experience in xml coding.

    Well... I think I have found the cause of the problem.  But I dont know how to solve it.
    In my Org Model, "Extended Attributes" tab, "Product Categories" option selected.  In that place I need to assign my Backend as the Src. System, and then choose my Product Category.     
    The problem is that I dont have any category linked to my backend system.    Because If I choose my SRM as the Src. System, I can see all the product categories that I have created.
    Somebody knows how can I link my Product Categories to my backend?   
    pd: my current categories were created manually in srm (not imported from r3)

    I'm a new consultant, and I'm implementing for a Oil & Gas Project. I want to ask you a recommendation about the solution for Organization structure.
    This business sell some kind of good:
    1) Hydro: mogas, diezel, mazut, kerosense...
    2) Non-Hydro: cement, Iron, gas, lubricant...
    I should use two org. structure for each kind, or just unique structure. Because each kind is controlled a different method, so I suggest use two org. structure, but its difficult for reporting.
