Mobile friendly external calendar site
Hello all. I enabled Internet Calendar Sharing, and it works great. My question is, is there a mobile friendly version setup possible? Right now from Android, I have to use Firefox in desktop site mode, and for iPhones, only Chrome in desktop site mode works.
Default it gives and error, and Chrome on Android, nor Safari on iPhone work. I would really like to have some setup that works on all browsers, mobile or not. Is there something in IIS that can be setup? If this should be in the IIS forums, please let me
know.
Thanks for the help in advance!

Mobile websites need to use a responsive design whose width varies to suit the width of the various devices. Unfortunately, iWeb can't do this.
Contact forms for mobile users are pretty much the same as for standard websites. The form width needs to be less than about 300px for smart phonesl.
Here's some example designs where you can see how the forms work. The submit button needs to be large enough for a finger tip.

This one, for example, has a standard style contact form...

Making an GoLive site mobile friendly?
Mid April Google will be doing an update and one criteria is if sites are mobile friendly.
I've added this code to my site: <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1" />
But it's not really doing anything. And when I test it with Google: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/ It's saying it's not mobile friendly.
Any thoughts or quick solutions? Thanks!Moving the discussion to Dreamweaver & Business Catalyst.

SharePoint 2013 XSLTListFormWebPart not rendering mobile friendly controls
I am in the process of building a SharePoint 2013 solution which is targeted both at desktop as well as mobile devices.
I have a separate data input form for mobile device which I have created by utilizing XSLTListFormWebPart. The challenge I am facing is that when the form is rendered on my mobile device, the controls rendered are same as the ones rendered in desktop rather
than mobile friendly web part. For e.g. for a DateTime value, the control rendered on the mobile device contains date picker option as well
However, in OOB SharePoint mobile page for new list item, the DateTime control is being rendered as a plain text box alongwith some text to indicate to user the format in which date is expected (e.g. mmddyyyy).
Could somebody help is providing a resolution?
Thanks in advanceHi Monica,
thank you for your response,
i already discussed and try a little part as example and research.

Mobile Friendly Version of the Forum?
Neil has already mentioned the script that appears to be slowing things down on the BBA phones... perhaps we could actually have a mobile friendly version of the forum? I tried replying to a thread using my phone it was a complete nightmare and ultimately failed.

I'd think it's more to do with the OS and browser, rather than who provides the phone

Is there a mobile-friendly version of this website?
This community forum is really hard to use on an iPhone 6 or any similar sized screen as:
1). The font is tiny, so you have to zoom right in on the page to read anything, and then scroll around.
2). Something odd happens with the predictive text in the WYSIWYG form for creating or editing posts whereby the suggestions don't detect the space betwee the word you're typing and the preceeding word. Additionally, it frequently decides a word should begin with a capital letter, when there's no preceding full stop (period).
Is there a mobil-friendly version of the site I can use?One would be very helpful (or even an app for that matter) I have iPod 5 and I have the same problem as you do. Text is way to small, the "Double letter" glitch, etc.

Will a mobile view (responsive UI) required for Intranet site?
I believe the URL not accessible through mobile.Hi Sunil,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to know if the mobile view of intranet site can be accessed through mobile device.
If the mobile devices have wifi and are on your internal network, then we can access the mobile view of intranet site through mobile device.
But if you are using a cellular network (and thus are external to your LAN) you will indeed need to publish your site externally for these devices to access.
Here is a similar thread for you to take a look:

Mobile Url for a site gives an error
when i try to access the mobile site of a SharePoint 2010 site it gives me the following error:
<input name="__EVENTARGUMENT" type="hidden" /> Error
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
The mobile Url contains _layouts/mobile/mblwiki.aspx this site has wiki feature enabledHi Omar,
According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when you access the mobile URL for SharePoint site.
I recommend to append "?Mobile=1" to the end of the URL of the SharePoint site
to access the mobile view to see if the issue still occurs, such as
http://MyServer/MySite/default.aspx?Mobile=1.
If the error still occurs, I recommend to check if the mobile view is activated for SharePoint.

I'm using Authorware 7 in a Windows 2000/XP environment. I
have a series of AW pieces that were originally created to run on
our intranet. Now, I'm trying to convert them to CD versions.
Consequently, I'm going through and changing all my GoToNetPage's
to JumpOutReturn's. That works fine for the documents, SWF files,
and WMV files. However, when I try to use JumpOutReturn on external
Web sites, they fail. Specifically, if I use something like
JumpOutReturn("","
http://www.studygs.net/"), a
dialog box opens with "Where is the EXE for ? " in the title bar.
In desparation, I've also tried JumpOutReturn("iexplore.exe","
http://www.studygs.net/"), and
that opens Internet Explorer, but it opens Internet Explorer to its
home page,
not to the specified Web site. (I really don't want to do
that, anyway, because these CDs are for external distribution, and
I don't have control over which browser they will be using.) I
suppose I could get around this by publishing for the Web player,
rather than publishing with runtime, but I'm trying to avoid that
because I don't want these external folks to have to download and
install the AW player. I'm hoping someone has found a resolution
for this problem!Try adding the page and extension to the URL?
JumpOutReturn("","
http://www.studygs.net/index.htm")
The .htm (or whatever extension) may help it find the default
browser?
This is a problem often noted on Mac delivery but not so
common on Windows.
If you can't get it to work, try baOpenURL (I think it is)
from buddyAPI
http://www.mods.com.au
And Steve's suggestion too, of course.

Solaris 10 11/06 - Cannot access external web sites from server
Hi,
I am relatively new with Solaris so I hope this is something simple. I just installed Solaris 10 11/06 with the `Secure By Default` option.
From the command line I can use dig and nslookup to resolve external web sites fine, but if I try to use the update conection manager (desktop), mozilla browser (desktop), or pkg-get (command line) it fails to resolve the external sites. I have a valid resolv.conf file and I have named installed and running.
It is on a LAN with other servers that have no problems with external access. I am running as root in all instances, so is there some permissions issue I am missing with this install/release?
I don't want to open up the install more than I have to.
Thanks,Hi again,
I figured it out. The nsswitch.conf file was not referencing dns as part of the `hosts` and ipnodes` resolution methods. Once I added this and restarted named it worked.
group: files
hosts: files dns
ipnodes: files dns

How do I make my PDF mobile friendly?
I've made a PDF, just by exporting as a PDF from Microsoft Word. Now I want to be able to view it on my mobile or iPad without having to scroll across/zoom in etc. It also contains images.
How do I make it mobile friendly? I've done a few Google searches but most have told me to use the Action Wizard which doesn't seem to have done anything.
Any help is much appreciated!Hi Lewis ,

LG Extravert - Verizon Mobile Email - Google Calendar - All Day Events showing on wrong day
I have an LG Extravert. I installed and setup the Verizon Mobile Email application. I added my gmail account. I successfully pulls in my gmail calendar - BUT any of the events that as "All Day" events in google end up displaying on the wrong day on the LG Extravert. If I drill into the event on the phone - it displays start and end times for the event. Why does it do anything with time for an all day event? and if it does (for some reason) still use times - why are the times off? The timezone setup on my phone and google accounts all match.
Please Advise...I am using the features of the Mobile Email application... I couldn't find a way with the Extravert to integrate directly with the calendar application.
If a create an all day event on the phone... it looks ok in google... but when the phone alerts me of the event... it says the Start Time is 1:00 AM. It seems like the Mobile Email Applications calendaring is not able to correctly handle All Day events. -
I need to create a mobile version for a site that is based on scroll effects and a slideshow background.
Is it possible to copy the format from the desktop version without re-designing all the elements?Hi
Different renditions will use require the page elements to be optimized accordingly.
So you can surely copy the page elements and paste in phone or tablet layout , but you would need to modify them.
Thanks,

I'm working on CC 2014 on a mobile version of a site, my links on layers that are below the top layer (call menu) are not working. If I move the layers above the menu layers the links work, but then the menu appears under the graphic and other elements on the site.
I'm having this issue right now. I would LOVE some help. Did you get it figured out?
