Modify Approval in Performance Management to include employee agreement

Hi,
In the standard worflow processes in Performance Management in EBS HRMS, when an appraisal is submitted by the manager/main appraiser, it goes to a higher level manager for approval.
I need to route the approval first to the employee and then to the higher level manager (so that the employee can see what rating is being finally given before it is approved).
How can this be achieved with as little of customisation as possible.
Regards,
Santhosh Jose

yes, you will have to use AME to achieve this.

    Hi sathish,
waste approval can be created after business partner creation and assignment.
in transaction waa02, create generator, generation and disposal channel. then you select for which generation and disposal channel you want to create waste approval.
go to waste approval tab and give inputs like set status  01(in progress), authwasteappr number(plant_disposer_transporter), waste approval tyoe(0001), disposal doc type based on country eg for india (WD_IN), then validity period. press enter waste approval numer will be assigned internally.
then select the created waste approval and assign waste code, partners and disposal channel details.
This is the procedure to create waste approval. hope this will help you. if still error comes send your steps and screenshot to [email protected]

  • Approval process in performance managent

we need to understand a bit better the standard process for approving appraisal documents in performance management....
    1. who is the default approver for appraisal documents?
    2. how is the document sent for approval? is there a standard pushbutton that does that? is this in the Appraisal document WD4A application?
    3. what is the difference between statuses 'approved' and 'closed approved'
    4. is the status flow like this:  completed->approved->closed approved?

this is completely controlled by who you let move the document on the status flow from In Process to completed.  Generally it is the appraiser, i.e. the manager.

all of this is controlled on the status flow tab in phap_catalog when you are at the template level for config.

approved, and closed approved are really up to you from a design perspective and how you want the flow to work.  within the status flow tab you could do something like:
in proces -> completed - Is only allowed by appraiser
Completed -> Approved - is only allowed by higher level manager
Approved -> closed approved - is done by the employee as an acknowledgment

  • Managers can't see their employees when creating apprisal documents in Performance Management

    Hi All,
I'm looking for you experts to enlighten me regarding an issue with the SAP Performance Management solution. We have recently (2013) implemented the Performance Management solution and everything has worked as expected. Now, we are in the process where the managers create the employees appraisal documents for the evaluation of the year 2013. The issue we are encountering is that managers who have been transfer to a new organizational unit are not able to see the employees which they supervised before the transfer.
Currently our company has an structural profile which is assigned to all the managers and supervisors, and this profile gives access to the employees which are assign to the manager or supervisor. In addition we have an MSS role for managers and supervisors, and here we added the authorization object P_HAP_DOC to authorize manager to perform the PM process.
Why the managers/supervisors who have been transfer are not able to see their employees?
    Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Santhiel Ramos

    Thank you for your response,
Yes, as the manager (appraiser) I have created the document in documents_todo.htm.
I went to t-code phap_admin_pa and the document exists.  The manager's name and employee's name are listed and the status is listed as In Process.
When I use t-code phap_start_bsp, then documents_received_open2.htm and log in as the employee, there are no documents listed.
I am not sure what is missing Any more ideas?

  • Configure approval process in Appraisals - Performance Management

    Hi Guys
I am trying to configure the approval process. After the final appraisal by the manager, the appraisal forms hould go to the manager of the manager (next level manager) for approval.
    My queries:
    1. Is the next level manager defined as further participant or part appraiser?
    2. Where do we assign the next level manager? In PHAP_PREPARE? I don't see anyplace where I can do that.
I have done the following configuration:
    1. At category level, selected Role 'Higher Manager'
    2. At category level, in Status flow--> Person Authorized, selected Higher-Level Manager.
    3. In the template, selected Higher Manager in Roles.
    What am I missing here?

  • Employee Performance Management in SAP Portal

    Hi,
I would like some advice on the best possible way of implementing Performance Management through SAP Portal. What do you suggest?
I was reading about MSS business packages and it comes with two iviews: Status Overview and Performance Management Document; is that all that is necessary to complete the performance process through portal ? I imagine the appraisal documents gets updated and some workflow is configured for approval and review cycle.
Well, any documentation, or experience you can share with me will be very useful.
    Thanks
    Ivan

There is a lot of configuration on the SAP side that needs to be done.  I suggest hiring an experienced consultant and save your time and headaches.  Also, watch out for Portal and SAP upgrades.  They don't always offer a migration tool and you may have to re-implement somethings after an upgrade of one or the other.  Annoying.

  • Performance Managment - Appraisals still pending for ex employees

    Hello!
I had a quick question and hope someone can answer it for me. Is there a process which can be run to remove appraisals from performance managment (MSS) when an employee leaves an organisation?
currently we are getting many calls/tickets wondering why a persons appraisal is still active in thier performance management worklist even though they have left the company. So far we have suggested that they manually delete them, but surely there must be an easier way?
secondly, which actions are automatically purged when an employee leaves?
    Many thanks,
    Samir

    Hello,

  • Using HXC_TIMESTORE_DEPOSIT_API to modify approved timecards

Is it permissable to use the HXC_TIMESTORE_DEPOSIT_API to modify approved timecards that have already been transferred to Payroll i.e. HXC TIMECARD >> OTL BEE BATCH (HXT) >> PAYROLL BEE BATCH >> ELEMENT ENTRIES
I have looked at the white paper on the API usage and found this entry, but it wasn't exactly clear as to if the API works on the timecard regardless of its status. It seemed to indicate that a corrected timecard after its been pushed to element entries must be performed by the associate and handled via Retro Payroll process and thus no API availability to make that correction at that point.
Can anyone confirm or indicate otherwise ?

This has been solved. The solution was to create a day building block for each day in the time period REGARDLESS of whether or not there is any time to be billed for the day. So an example would be that if the employee only had time for Monday-Friday you would still need to create day building blocks for the Saturday and Sunday that are included in the period. A simple oversight but one that will prevent the API loaded timecards from being picked up by the workflow and approving

  • Predefined Performance Management process Issues

    Hello
    1. Is it possible for the High level managers to have a display access to employee's appraisal documents in PMP (Predefined Performance management)?
    2. Is it possible for Further participants (such as dotted line managers, etc) to participate in Appraisal process for PMP. I tried using Part Appraisers. But the Part Appraisers are only getting access while appraisal status is In process - Part Appraisal". We want these Part Appraisers / Further participants to get access to employee's appraisals starting from Goal Planning status.
    3. We wanted to add additional Criteria Groups (VB) to the PMP Appraisal Template. I have added a Project Goals Criteria Group. But that's not being shown in PMP web interface (although it is being shown in Flex-Form).
I have been realizing that the PMP, which is very good web design does not have ANY flexibility to change Template or process.
The Flexi-Form, which is very flexible in terms of Template Design, does not offer the Goal Cascading functionality and Competency Goals functionality.
I am surprised that the PMP is very un-flexible (contrary to what SAP advertised).
Any suggestions for my above 3 problems?
    Thanks
    Raghu Kolukuluri

    Hi Wim:
Thanks for taking the time to read through my rambling and for responding.
I guess the point of what I was trying to get at is why it would be an unlikely scenario to put the configuration for predefined into PHAP_CONFIG and then let you modify it to suit the whim of your customer.
My intention was not to suggest the impossibility of integrations in the flexible template.  There are certainly enhancements to accomplish integration with the Qualification catalog and LSO, and even the old school Development Plans that virtually no one uses.
However, as someone who has seen Predefined in a production environment; I have to tell you, I do disagree that the alignment of goals is the only 'functionality' piece missing from Flexible.  A quick summary of other items missing out of the box:
    - Potential Assessment
    - Calibration with drag & drop capability of entire team
    - Integration with the Talent Profile - Assessments tab
    - Target rating distribution %
    - Profile matchups to positions other than the employee's own position
That obviously excludes the UI stuff that's been addressed above.  These things above come in Predefined automatically with literally no work other than what basically is equivalent to a configuration wizard.
Now, could you create that in Flexible?  Sure, anything's possible with enough time and money, right?  You can certainly dig into the code and create equivalent custom code for your Flexible template.  But like I noted above, it certainly appears to at least me that SAP has continued improving Predefined in EhP5 and made no improvements to Flexible.  So in my opinion you run the risk of creating something supremely custom for your customer in order to satisfy some requirement like 1 over 1 approval of a final rating.  Then, when EhP6 or whatever comes out, the customer decides they want to start leveraging those Predefined improvements, they've painted themselves into a corner of sunk costs, or continuing to customize Flexible.
To me, that doesn't seem like a good solution, especially for a business unit like HCM that really doesn't generate revenue.  I elluded to this in an earlier post, but I really like that Predefined has a process already built into it.  It's not like SAP made that up from nowhere, they presumably built that from feedback they'd gotten from customers, along with feedback that it was frustrating how much time and money it costs to build an appraisal system that - while necessary in the corporate world - generates no revenue for the company.
Let me know what you think though.  I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.
    Thanks,
    Chris
Edit: I have no idea why the formatting won't hold.  It doesn't look this bad when I edit it, sorry

  • Oracle Performance Management Sysem

    Hi All,
Can anybody help me on implementing, Scope & Assumptions on Oracle Performance Management System?

    Hi Prashanth,
Using Oracle PMS, clients can automate their entire assessment cycle right from objective setting to assessment.
Objective Setting - Is a collaborative process between Employee and his/her manager. You have the option of selecting the initiator of the process as either employee or the manager (Cascading/parallel). both the parties have to agree for freezing the objectives
Assessment - All approved objective will automatically flow to your assessment, based on the appraisal template define. You have the option of using competency assessment, objective assessment or even some questionnaire functionality as part of assessment.
Scope will be dependent on your business requirement. You key assumptions can include based on what your business wants to do:
    1. Do the business need a global Objective setting plan or regional
    2. Process of review of objectives
    3. How will the actual loaded into system for objectives? (Not available out-of box)
    4. What is the frequency of assessment? Twice a year or annual assessment
    5. What will be the normalization method? (Not available out-of box)
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks,

  • Performance management redeploying the template with contents

    Hi
we are currently configring the Performance appraisal template.
We want to remove the template from the employee screen once the objective is approved by the manager and employee at the beginning of the year.
Again the template need to be deployed back to the employees for the mid year review and also for the Final appraisal.
Can anyone provide the tcode/process for distributing and withdrawing the template with the contents during mid year and final appraisal with the data entered by the employee at the start of the year
    thanks in advance
    Sasha

    Hello Sasha,
check for the validiy dates under the Enhancements DV.
This what you can do - At the category level select the Enhancement : Default Validity Period       -  Standard
Then at the template level - in the Processing tab- select Futher Template Behaviour - in the window that pops up add the enhancement of the validity dates.
As standard functionality the validity is " STANDARD" but you would need to copy and enhance this to meet your requirement if you have to avoid the manul work of someone locking and unlocking the template now and then.
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Regi
