Monitor Clips in Mail?

What are "Monitor Clips.mbox" and their subfiles, "Messages" with emix extensions?
These are found in the thread: Library~Mail~Mailboxes~Subscriptions (which I likely created)~Monitor Clips.mbox~Messages~then a large number of files with numbers and the extensions .emix?
These files are now taking up the most room on the hard drive and if unnecessary, I'd like to delete them. What are they? Are there any cautions or reasons for keeping them? May they be easily deleted?

No, don't delete either, Deleted Messages.mbox as it is needed for Mail. What you can do is go to the Mailbox Menu and select Erase Deleted Messages>All. That folder will then decrease in size to 0.
That Deleted Messages.mbox is your trash for Mail. When you delete an email, that is where the message is saved until you delete the trash, or Mail automatically empties it per your preferences set in Mail's Preferences.
The "info.plist" files are Mail Pref files.

Video clip with mail

Just recently I have noticed that a short video clip attached to an email I send only displays (on my sent copy) a single start/stop line and it only plays audio. My friends say they still can view the video. I have Flip4Mac and usually convert .mov to .wmv before sending. Anyone have the same problem ?? It may be with Flip4Mac. Regards

Alert Monitoring and Notification Mails

I have a requirement to configure CCMS in XI system in such a way that the alerts trigger mails to the outlook users.
This is required in J2EE engine also.
Please tell the T-Codes and Steps.

Hi Asad,
When your CCMS is not configured you can only do individual monitoring.
To configure the same you must decide which system is to be the central system for the SCR.

After doing the same please follow these steps.
Log on to the system that is to contain the central repository.
- Choose CCMS ® Configuration ® Alert Monitor, or call transaction RZ21.
- Choose Technical Infrastructure ® System Repository ® Set Repository Role.
- The system displays the Set Repository Role in Central System Administration screen. Choose Central Repository.

Technical Monitoring - Metric for Mail (SOST)

Hi experts,
does anybody know, if there is a metric in Technical Monitoring which checks the EMails of SOST?
I mean especially, the amount of mails which are failed.
Otherwise I will develop a customer metric.

I haven't used for any template for SOST and not sure even on it's existence in delivered templates.
However, you have this thing RZ20 to check number of emails in queue.
You can use the metric in RZ20 and migrate it in Tech Moni.

Deadline monitoring and recursive mails

Hi experts,
I have a user decision sent to users in workflow. If no action is taken after 3 days of workitem creation, an email has to be sent. Also after 3 days a mail has to be sent daily once until the decision is taken.
I am able to send mail once 3 days is completed after workitem creation by doing the set up in 'Latest end' tab of user decision.
But how do I send recursive mails daily once..?
Please suggest.

Using Extended Notifications is the right decision. I haven't used the Reminder option myself so maybe someone else can advise on that - if you don't find it by searching first.

What is the format of those attachments?
What happens when yu try to "open" the addtacmnets?

Any way to default on FIRST of multiple clips loaded in the Source Monitor?

When dragging 2 or more clips to the Source Monitor, or using the 'Open in Source Monitor' contextual menu in the Project window, the clip that automatically gets displayed in the Source Monitor is the last clip of the list, rather than the first one. WHY?
Basic Human Logic 101 dictates that editors would always want the FIRST clip of the list to automatically be displayed rather than the LAST. For example, if I open CLIP001 to CLIP025 in my Source Monitor, why on Earth would I ever want to trim and send CLIP025 to the Timeline first, before CLIP001 to CLIP024? THIS BACKWARDS WORKFLOW IN PREMIERE DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!!!! Adobe, please fix this unhelpful annoyance. I encounter it dozens of times on every project, and I imagine that every single editor out there that uses the Source Monitor to load several clips at once also encounters this illogical annoyance.
If there's already a way to change this setting that I'm not aware of, I would love to know! Otherwise I'll be sending Adobe an official FR to get this fixed.

I think you misunderstood what I'm asking for.
I'm asking for the first newly loaded clip to always be shown by default when loading several clips in the Source Monitor. So if the Source Monitor already contains CLIP001 to CLIP025, and you load CLIP026 to CLIP050, CLIP026 should automatically be shown, NOT CLIP050, as Premiere currently does. Defaulting to the first clip in the list (CLIP001) when adding new clips would make as little sense as the way it currently works, so of course I wouldn't want, nor am I asking for that.
I always load 25-30 clips in the Source Monitor for trimming at a time. It's the most efficient workflow I've come up with and I'm quite surprised none of the responders work that way. I load up a bunch of clips all at once, and then set IN (1) and OUT (2) points on the current Source Monitor clip, and then send the selected range to my Timeline (5). Keys 3 and 4 go back and forward in the list of loaded clips. JKL controls playback. This allows the editor to quickly pre-select material for editing using only the keyboard. Once I finish going through my clips, I load another 30 or so clips. Quick. Efficient... exept for the fact that Adobe decided to work backwards, by always showing the last loaded clip instead of the first.
I think this would be a relatively easy thing for Adobe to fix. I won't indulge any petty arguments about what Adobe should be fixing first, second or third. That's for them to decide. I'd rather spend my time and effort bringing up topics that others haven't yet. Thinking outside the box is the only way for Premiere to evolve.

E-mail from Server Monitor question

Before I pay for an upgrade to my Intermapper software for this same functionality, I'd like to see if Server Monitor will do this on its own:
I run a headless X Serve G4 with OS X Server 10.4.6
I think I have set up Server Monitor to e-mail my BlackBerry whenever there is any problem with the machine.
I have it set for the application to send the e-mail on the servers behalf.
I am not running Postfix on the server. It is in fact a mail server but it runs Communigate Pro.
The questions are:
1) Do I have to leave Server Monitor running somewhere for it to actually e-mail me?
2) How can I test the e-mail function without actually causing a failure on the server (since it is a live server, I'd prefer a "test email" button)?
3) Can I change the e-mail function to have the remote server send it even though postfix is off?
I don't leave the server logged in and I don't leave Server Monitor running anywhere looking at the machine since all of my monitoring machines runn with no users logged in.

Not really a nice situation having to wait for something to fail to see if I actually get a notification. What if not? I hope they just need to rewire a button as many hints in Interface Builder indicate that the functionality is already there.

Another idea for triggering an error.
You siad your Xserve was located in a Data Center, so I expect it to have a UPS. If that UPS has a direct data connection to the Xserve you could simply unplug the UPS connection from the wall. That surely will trigger a Power alert. I don't know if just removing the USB cable will be sufficient, but might be worth a try and somehow more comfortable with the service personell.
Anone else running Communigate on an Xserve who has easy physical access to the machine to try this? Maybe also talk to the Communigate People, they might know.

Thunderbolt monitor mail sounds

When I plug in my retina MBP to the 27" thunderbolt monitor, every mac mail sound since the last time it was plugged in plays in succession. Sometimes this is 5 mins of ding (incoming) & whoosh (outgoing) mail sounds. What a very peculiar bug.
Anyone else getting this?
I have read a few posts stating it was mountain lion bug that was fixed last month ( Aug 2012 ) however all of my devices are up to date and it is still happening.

I don't know if it began with new updates to quicktime or iTunes, or when Yasu Cleaner froze during cache cleaning, but after restarting,then had probs with Keychain access to mail not working along with sounds, then it got really messy! (It couldn't find keychains.login)
What I ended up doing and it now all works(sounds and keychains,etc) was:
-Thankfully I had backed up my keychain folder before all these problems, (all should do this if they haven't!) backup folder location:("~" is home folder)
(~/library/keychains folder)
-2nd went in same orig. area for keychains folder and deleted 2 files found in there ..one was some login and think other one said some microsoft certificates file
-3rd copied saved file from my BACKUPs folder("keychains folder") to original location
-4th restarted computer
-5th ran Disk Utility- repair permissions
Now: ALL SOUND BACK and ALL PASSWORDS in MAIL, and I didn't even have to re-enter them!

Günther, sorry about the late reply; I need to monitor my e-mail notifications more often. Did you figure it out? If I understand your correctly, the image you want(ed) is contained inside a clip (either an MOV or MP4 or whatever), and you want to extract that image from the clip?
If that's right, then I don't believe iMovie can do that for you. You could freeze-frame the clip when it comes across the image you need, and then use that freeze-frame somewhere else, but short of pausing it during playback, using grab to take a screenshot, I don't think it can be done with iMovie or even QuickTime.

How do i monitor/output digital/analogue audio while editing?

I just switched to the mac pro and am learning FCP. Now i am forced to monitor audio output through my headphones. I want to tie the audio into my studio monitors and also be able to send optical audio in to the mac pro from my main mixer, a Mackie 1404. Do i need a DAC(Benchmark), a optical I/O digital mixer or both or something else? My budget is upt to $1,000, but i would like to spend <$300.
In general, i am trying to figure out how to incorporate analog/digital audio/video in to my new editing system. Before this i was outputting analog video/audio in real time with a Velocity I/O card. I am now, obviously, converting to a new way of outputting my finished product and how to edit and work with the new Mac Pro.
I guess i could also consider using the firewire also, right? I haven't worked with a firewire based audio hardware unit, so any info on that appreciated as well.
Also, is the line out in the back of the Mac Pro mono or stereo? I appear to be getting a mono feed while monitoring clips i've shot.

Computer runs slow when Mac Mail open

Mail works ok, albeit very slow, but the computer runs painfully slow. Spinning beach ball trying to perform the most mundane tasks, like clicking between pages in Safari. Once I right click on Mail and close it, the computer runs just fine.

Also, with Activity Monitor open but Mail quit, select CPU down at the bottom, see what the % Idle is. Then open Mail and see what it says.
You should run the Combo Update to 10.5.8. This might help.

@Eric: I'm not ruling it out 100% as a fix for this problem, but Permissions Repair is not the panacea or valuable troubleshooting step you seem to think it is. It may have been more useful in pre-Leopard OSs like Tiger.

Error in Mail adapter

Hi,
I'm trying out a scenario wherein i'm using an outbound mail adapter,to send a message to my gmail account. My message passes through XI successfully and in my communication monitoring the outbound mail adapter shows" Mail sent successfully". However i cant find any mails in my gmail inbox.
I've used the following parameters in mail adapter.
Transport protocol: SMTP
Message protocol XIPAYLOAD
url smtp://gmail.com

i dont think that its possible to connect to gmail via smtp, try to connect to your own mailserver, and use your gmail account as to-address.

Can't shut mail in infinite loop

I can't shut my mail account, and I cannot turn my mac air off. Has anyone else had this problem?

What have you tried in order to shut down the Mail/computer?
If you have tried this, try this: Go to>Applications>Utilities>Activity Monitor
Click on Mail, then click "Quit Process."
