Movie frame in Indesign

I want to delete movie frame from Indesign using Indesign Javascript. It is giving problem in exporting the jpg files so i want to delete the movie frames.
Can anyone help me on this please....

If you're using Director MX2004 or 11 then _movie.frame should work fine - it always does for me anyway. the frame is the verbose syntax equivalent.
Do you generally use Lingo's dot-syntax or its verbose syntax? If the latter then I'm wondering whether the problem is occurring because the dot-syntax _movie.frame is causing an ambiguity within your verbose-syntax code.
Also, the problem may be that you're using the put command - this outputs a value to the message window, but doesn't make that value available to the rest of your handler or script.
The following should work just fine from a behaviour, then:
on printFrame me
printFrom(_movie.frame, _movie.frame)
end
(look-up printFrom() in the scripting dictionary to find out more about it)

If you have worked properly and have done following:
Set up Masters with margins and columns,
Aligned all text frames with the margins,
Turned on Layout Adjustment,
You will only change the margins on the Master and it will change every page.
If not …
you have to do it manually.

Creating Scrollable text frames in InDesign

I've been trying to create scrollable text frames in InDesign CS6 and, for the life of me, cannot figure out how to do so for an interactive PDF.
I've done so for touchscreen devices before through DPS and the scrollable frame option, but I've never tried to do it for something non-touchscreen/mobile. I don't even know if it's possible, but I am sending this to someone who may not have touchscreen access with touchscreen scroll functionality and I wouldn't want to risk a good portion of text to go unread because of a lack-of functionality.
So, I guess my question is: Is there a way to create a scrollable text field for an interactive PDF that could be scrolled through using a mouse or keyboard?

How do I save a movie frame as a still picture?

I like to pause my HD movies and use grab to save a frame as a photo but this new version of quicktime puts a control bar inside the movie frame so my grabs include the control bar. It goes away when running a movie but comes back when in pause and you are trying to use grab. The old quicktime did not have this issue.
If not, is there an alternative way to save a frame?

Or, if you have MPEG Streamclip (free) installed and want some additional/limiterd editing options, simply open the movie in it, move playhead to the desired frame, and select the "Export Frame" File menu option to access additional options as depicted below:

May I rephrase the question:
"How to split threaded text frames to single ones?"
"SplitStory.jsx" or "BreakFrame.jsx" under Scripts/Samples indeed could be the answer.
From the comments in the code of "BreakFrame.jsx":
//Removes the selected text frame (or text frames) from the
//story containing the text frame and removes the text contained
//by the text frame from the story.
//If you want to split *all* of the text fames in the story, use the
//SplitStory.jsx script.

Save movie frame as jpg?

Is there a way, and if so how do you do it, to save a movie frame as a JPG? I have Lion OS and the most up to date versions of iLife software.

First, get an app called MPEG Streamclip, which is free. (google MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5)
Open MPEG Streamclip.
In iMovie, select the clip you need. Then, right-click/Reveal in Finder.
Drag this clip from the Finder into MPEG Streamclip
In MPEG Streamclip, move the playhead to the frame you want.
In MPEG Streamclip, click FILE/EXPORT FRAME.
Choose JPEG, TIFF, or PNG and give it a name.
You can then drag this photo into iPhoto.

Like Doug said, you can use the button in the transport controls. If you prefer the keyboard, it's Option-Right Arrow (or Left Arrow, if you're reversing).
That said, I believe the prefer way to do this (allowing you to perform subframe edits) is to zoom in all the way on the timeline and simply use the Arrow keys.

Importing .mov files to InDesign CS2

I am trying to import a H.268 or Mpeg .mov files into InDesign CS2 and every time I select the file, I get the following message pop up:
"Error: Cannot place this file. No filter found for requested operation"
When I check the 'Interactive Options' the options such as 'Movie Option' or 'Sound Option' are graded out, so that I cannot select them.
When I google the Error message, people posted articles saying that you had to set the PDF options, but I cannot find this. I have look at the general preferences section, but there is nothing for movies. I also looked at the 'Configure Plugins' section, and 'Media.Framework' plugin is locked, but I am not sure what to do.
Please help as I need to get this finished in the next 24 hours and cannot make this work!

I cannot seem to find this menu, the only one I can find is Buttons & Forms and when I open this all of the options are graded out. Please see the screen grab below...

How do I export a .MOV frame as a PNG?

How do I export a .MOV frame as a PNG? Currently, I can only seem to export as a .PCT through "Export Movie to Picture", even when I select "Use: PNG".
Currently, the workaround I use is to export using "Export Movie to BMP", and then converting to PNG with an image editor (but this would be unnecessary if QuickTime is capable of a direct conversion to PNG).

It doesn't seem to be a simple as simply changing the extension.
I ran into this problem when trying to masquerade a QT pct file as a png file as a preview for a flash video. When embedded in the flash player, it would not appear in any browser. (BTW --- It appeared just fine as a plain img in any browser.)
Here was my rather specific fix, which shows that simply changing extensions doesn't always fool every application:
1. Open the png file in a text editor (in my case, emacs) which will let you edit binaries as ASCII text.
2. Look through the file. Assuming that non-ASCII characters are shown in octal with a preceding \, you'll see the following
\377\377\211PNG
3. Delete everything until just after the two \377 characters, so that the file starts with \211PNG. (If you are editing in hex, look for ff ff 89 50, and delete up through the ff ff.)
4. Save the file.
After doing this, it embedded just fine.
So.... simply swapping the pct extension for png isn't a true fix in all ways. I'm guessing that pulling off the start of the file tears off the wrapper alluded to above.

Resizing of Rotated Frames in InDesign CS4

Hi All,
I have one group frame which contains one rotated image frame (with 30 degree) and one empy frame at zero degree.
Programmatically when I set a new width size to the group frame in InDesign Desktop application it sets the new width properly to the group frame, but it does not retain the angles of the image which is inside frame.
When we ungroup the frame it shows result like below one
Even if I try this manually I get the same results.
Please help me into this issue. Its very urgent.

1. I have a group frame having size 409 X 409. When I try to set the new width which is double of old width then it sets the group size to 818 X 409.
This is correct. But it does not retain the angles of image as mentioned earlier.
2. Instead of resizing the whole group frame, I have resized child frames individually. In this condition I have set new width which is double of old width i.e 818. It retains the proper image angle but the new size of group frame is 669 X 559 which is incorrect. It should be 818 X 409.

I'm in the process of designing a website, and I want to use
Flash as well as Quicktime. The site deals with stock footage, so
the beauty of Quicktime is that the user can simply move through
the video frame by frame and choose exactly the shot he or she
wants. But when it comes to Flash, is there a player available that
will allow the user to move through the clip frame by frame?

If I am understanding you correctly, you want to be able to
navigate through the quicktime movie, frame by frame.
The setting is when you import the .mov file. Choose embed in
the timeline instead of the other options. Once complete, you can
move the slider across the timeline and view your movie frame by
frame.

Script for replacing Image from a frame into InDesign document file

I am having an indesign document (indd) file with images and texts. I am using InDesign Server CS4 to run the scripts via SOAP.
My requirement is to replace any of the images from the required frame/s of indesign document through scripting (I already have frame id of which image needs to be replaced). Is it possible to make a pdf-file from a selected frame in a Indesign-document?
Way, way back we were able to do this in Quark Xpress by using a plugin.
Is there a plugin like this available for Indesign (CS3) ?
